All About the Romankovs!

I didn't know what to expect with this one, but I was blown away! In all the other Whiskey Row books, we've only seen Lex and Viv play the supportive parents to the Sullivans, but in this one, it's all about the Romankovs.

This story proves that just because you're over forty, you can still get down in the bedroom and in the streets! Full of action, adventure, mystery, laughter, and hawt sex, NGL did the damn thing!

The gang is all back for another family holiday, and each story just gets better and better. Now, I'm ready for The Woodsman!

Alexei and Vivienne Romankov's story. I absolutely love this series. We get some answers to the questions we have been wondering about this couple. Especially why were they apart when we can clearly see that they love each other. So most of our lose ends are tied up in this story. We see why Vivienne is the right match for Alexei, she is a kick-ass woman and I loved that about her. We catch up with the rest of the family and w are introduced to a couple of new ones.

Another great read. I would definitely recommend it.

Great Read

I enjoyed Lex and Viv story, and was surprised to see who the protagonist was. They had some unanswered questions for me like the email Cruz got when he said he was sorry for making a deal with the Devil.I hope at some point we find this out.

Least

I think out of this whole series was the moat hard to fallow, hard to comprehend that back and forth of the different names for the same person. I didn't really like the storyline in this one, and all the price seemed very forced. The aide stories did not mesh well. I was very lost most of this book to the point I just listened to parts of it.

Interesting

'No Greater Love' focuses on Alexei and Vivienne - the patriarch and matriarch in the family - and their reunion after being 'separated' for over 2 decades. You know that saying the older you get the wiser you get, not with these two, at this point D.J. has more sense than Lex and Vivi.

Vivi's thought process is infuriating to say the least but not in a way the adds to the enjoyment of a read, everything basically spirals when Vivi decides to pay the hitman Moira conscripted using her bracelet, then after a while gets blackmailed that everyone around her will die if she tells anyone. One would think at least to tell their professional assassin husband that full story maybe even after a couple years but no. Instead Vivi has the idea to allow her children to grow up in a disjointed household for the sake of protecting them when further in the book that threat meant nought. Because not one of them got physically hurt expect for Vivi.

I thought it would be some sort of great battle to figure who exactly was blackmailing Vivi and make all this worth it, but after Vivi decided to open her mouth and tell the full story all it took was three words for Lex to have an idea of who to look for to lead him to the 'finish line'. After that, the conflict was resolved rather quickly, so was waiting 2 decades really worth it.

In the end its made to seem like Lex is carrying all the weight on his shoulders for being the cause of this whole debacle, he did kill the father of the twins there's no denying that but Vivi kept so much information bottled up inside of her for for way too damn long, her and Lex's resentment for Vivi being so stubborn and a coward should have been touched on as well.

Also, this is probably just me but I don't think Lex and Vivi love each other in the normal sense they just love sex with each other. They treat each other as possessions that they can sex up at any time of day, the other couples do this for sure but they also have meaningful conversations and a whole host more 'feelings' that shine through in this series. I cannot recall one conversation where both Vivi and Lex just sat down and talked, they just seem to use sex as a means to communicate. This could have been omitted and meant to be assumed by the reader that they had all these meaningful conversations when they were younger.

The addition of all the sub-plots within the plots can be overwhelming it's hard to note who's who at some points. Honestly, I believe some sub-plots could have been left out to aid in making a completely separate story.

I did enjoy reading this book despite what I wrote about above, but it just seems that both Vivi and Lex are lost. I can't tell you how or why but they just feel like 'lost' characters.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book, I knew they had a juicy story.

Alexi & Vivienne is one couple in this series that I was hoping that D.A Young would write a story about. And I’m so happy she did. Throughout the series you read about them being still married, and Alexei very much still in love with his Vivi. And in other books you usually see separated parents get back together, but they don’t go farther than saying “oh they got back together.”

I LOVE that D.A. Young makes a book just for them, and you even get to see little scenes of the two together.

I love the fact that it’s not all sugar, and everything nice between the two. There is tensions and a lot of spice from this killer couple. I love the fact that Alexei FINALLY puts his foot down and tells Vivi that enough is enough and he’s coming for her; his wife, and that all this foolishness is over.

Lord I need an AC to cool myself down, because Alexei is mega hot, and demanding.

I love the fact that when someone is blackmailing his wife, and trying to harm her and his family, he will protect them, with any mean necessary. The males in this family should not be taking as a joke, or you will surely find yourself in regret.

But do not think the females are damsel in destress waiting to be save by their hero, or prince. They know how to handle trouble that comes there way.

I Read The Whole Whiskey Row Series...

This was my least favorite of them all. I really am giving this a 3.5 review alone, but the other four books were a 5, which tops the series @ 4.7, which when rounded up gives it a 5.

Every book except this one made me laugh repeatedly and then say out loud "I LOVE THESE PEOPLE" I never once had that sentiment when reading this book.

Now it appears that Cruz and Holt will be involved with other nefarious activity, I will not be reading any of those books if they come to fruition. This reminds me of another series I read years ago that morphed into a bunch of crime family drama, I wasn't able to finish that series, and again, I won't continue this one, because that's not why I read a romance novel.

But books 1-4 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤❤❤👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Let us Begin ✏️
Overall Plot Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ /
Execution of Spice: 4/5⭐

Tropes/Triggers:
Alpha male syndrome, touch-her-and-die, bi-racial couple, Murder, pregnancy, Sexual content(explicit), Mafia/Bratva, Dogs used as weapons, brutality, weapons(guns and knives)

Format I read: Audiobook 🎧
Audio version: Dual Narration
Narrators and performance:
Morae Brehon: 1/5 ⭐
Sean Crisden: 4.5/5 ⭐
I find Morae's voice whiny and her inability to do accents literally makes me cringe. I hated the chapters that she narrated.
Sean does great accents and his tone has more inflection, bringing the characters a sense of personality.

The Author wrote this book in a 3rd person, multiple POV, sometimes referred to as Omniscient POV.
-Now, I actually enjoy switching POV between chapters, like many romance books do, but this story switches constantly even during conversations mid-chapter. Normally I hate Omniscient POV because the constant switching of POV takes me out of the story. This book was no different. And the fact that the POV changed multiple times PER chapter made the Dual Narration type for this book redundant. Would have been better off just having Sean Crisden do the whole thing in that case. It would have felt a little more manageable if the author hadn't extended to pretty much every character.

Pros of the Story 👍
-I enjoyed finally learning more about Alexei and Viv's story/backgrounds.
-Lex's way of loving was a nice change from the Sullivan Brother's, I finally felt like the spicy scenes were less repetitive than in the previous few books.

Cons of the Story 👎
-Really what I'm mostly hung up on is the POV style the author used. I hate it. With a passion. But I'm enjoying the storyline. And Holt... Now I SERIOUSLY want to know what's up with him.

In summary 📝
7/10 would recommend
Doubtful I will read again.

The love is definitely GREATER

I wasn’t disappointed and neither will you!

This GREAT LOVE span all the way back to the 80s
3 sons a daughter and many trials tribulations
Disapproval’s, concerns and more in between!

ALEXI & Vivienne Ramankov
Are indeed the GLUE, the back bone, the defenders of the family, they’re the true matriarchs of the family..
Through it all they remained the strong foundation for the boys and for Kay! And that alone I just ASMIRE..

This particular BOOK was definitely the save
“the best for last” worthy for sure!
The pot was bubbling with all types of juiciness and twist and turns oh and REVEALS (literally shook)
REMEMBER to read the books in order !!
So you can appreciate this phenomenal author and the “MEN OF WHISKEY ROW SERIES” definitely well thought out!
I don’t wanna give to much away ...!
Again read the SERIES “THE MEN OF WHISKEY ROW”
You won’t be disappointed love..

As always xoxo ~

This book was so painful to read. I had to force myself not to give up on it and dragged myself to the end. To me this book should have been everythin, telling the story of the patriarch/matriarch of whiskey row but fell so short. I hated the back and forth as it seemed disjointed and giving a snippet here and there rather then a full story. In previous books Vivienne blaming Alexei for Moiras death seemed justifiable and yet in this one it didn’t especially as it turns out she didn’t blame him but was being blackmailed to stay away for 20+ years. I feel this book would have worked better if the flashbacks told their entire story leading up to the present hunt for the blackmailer but instead I felt like I was told rather then shown their love and then she stayed away for 20 years. So not the love we’ve been told about. It Made no sense to me. Again I also wasn’t interested in the other characters storylines. They’ll get a book and that’s when I’ll get their story.

Another great hit!

We get the beginnings of Alexi and Vivi and unravel what really happened to Moira Sullivan. The "family" finds out some of the family secrets. Oh, did I mention that this was smoking hot? D.A. Young does it again show us the men of "Whiskey Row". I hate cliffhangers but I think you will enjoy this as the hanging from the cliff is not the type to drive you crazy until the next book. By the way, the typos in some areas do have you scratching your head but you are able to figure them out without too much strain. Love the family and especially the crazy heads, Alexi and his wife Vivi. She is truly a force in her own right and a match for her husband. ENJOY!!

"Forever & ever..."

As all the books in this series #5 is full of excitement, complicated relationships, bitter hate and revenge fueled plots; killing and a boat load of half-truths, flat out lies, erroneous assumptions and nasty life altering secrets that should never have been kept to begin with.
I found this one the darkest of the series so far. Brooding & distasteful throughout. For me the moments shared by the couple's or those trying to be a couple and even the darling little kids could not quite lift the melancholy. The next installment promises to repeat this pattern.
Well, you won't get bored and you will root for this improbable complicated amazing group of people. And like myself you'll hop into Book 6 as soon as it arrives.

As ever DA Young never disappoints with her books!

OMG!! This was so gooood!! I swear Lex is the boss of all bosses. The vibe he gives off chills my bones. I'm so glad that him and ViVi got to the bottom of their problem I just never knew it would come out that so many hands played a part in their separation. Not only that it started from a situation Lex had previously handle. But nonetheless Lex handle everything and now all is good in Whiskey Row or is it?? Holt has decisions to make and I don't know how it will play out and I'm anxious to see or read what happens.

This book was jam packed with romance, suspense, action & intrigue. I never would've envisioned this storyline based on Jack & Noel's story. Vivian was a determined ruthless woman who was protective of her family & her love. Alexi was a man devoted to his kids & determined to get his wife back. The tale that took them apart was unbelievable and the people responsible were totally unexpected. There was nothing predictable about this book which made it great! The narrators were excellent and made everything more believable.

I enjoyed this book…I kind of think it should have been moved up in the series because it gives the background of the three sons. I mean the first book was the first book but all the meat and potatoes seems like it should have been revealed maybe in the second book; but either way it was good to get the full story. Ok enjoying the series, again I like to get the full picture without having follow-up questions but I can understand why it was done here…a series you gotta leave some things unanswered for the next book.

Good Story

Overall this was a good story. The 20 year blackmailing was a bit farfetched and a stretch. For Vivienne to be portrayed as such a strong, independent and fierce woman, I just can't see her letting someone blackmail her for 20 years without saying anything to Lex, especially when your man is the isht. It just doesn't make any sense with a lot of wasted years, but I digress.

Looking forward to the stories for Kat and Holt, Guy and Fern and Cruz.

Just incredible

This is the one I've been waiting for and it didn't disappoint. I have no idea how she keeps all these stories running so smoothly but she manages to create the most intriguing world. Every time you pull back a layer there is another mystery and it just so damn good.

I can't tell you how sad I am now that I've caught up with all five books but how glad there will another book.

No Greater 💘 (Men of Whiskey Row #5)

Of course the background story of Vivienne (ViVi)& Alexei (Lex) was outstanding but what is ☝ with Holt's family. They are putting pressure on him regarding the family business. That will not be good news for Katerina (Kat) who loves, 💕 him with her whole ❤. Book 6, perhaps with ViVi & Lex helping out in this family's situation? I say, ooohh yes. I would recommend the 📚 in this Whiskey Row series. Five 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible Membership)

Family ties are what can hold people together, but it can also be what tears people apart.
Unfortunately, it is forced marriages and neglect from parents to innocent children can cause all sorts of issues that become born out in brutality in later years.
This is an extremely brutal episode. However, it is all linked to the persona of the individuals portrayed.

But anyways I've really have been a great time on this ride and all the drama suspense and how the families love for each others take care of their own. But still I'm left on pins and needles to see what will happen next!

Great Read

Loved reading the back story on Alexei and Vivienne. It's good to know how they met and see what they both went through to get where they are now. Who knew they had so many enemies. But their love help them make it through the rough times. It was great catching up on Jackson, Darby, and Casey and their wives and families.

Second time around

I read this book for the second time and I LOL so much. I absolutely love Vivi and Alexi. However, Cedric had me in stitches. I can definitely see that he raised Viv to be very much like him.
I'm curious about Cruz's story and like everyone else I too am eagerly awaiting Holt and Kat's story.

Pretty good

It was good to learn Viv and Alexei's story. I always like to know how it started. Viv was too much at times. I enjoyed the suspense but something was missing from this one. I am interested in Holt. Keys is pretty interesting too. I don't know what I thing about Guy yet.

This is the 2nd best book of the series. Vivienne and Alexi are definitely the leaders of the Romankav/Sullivan clan and anyone that threatens the family will be harshly dealt with. Vivienne is just a deadly as Alexi. So much is revealed and helps everyone better understand the Sullivan men’s history. It’s interesting to listen to.

Happy reading!

5⭐️’s well earned!

I had such a ball reading this book in the series when I didn’t think I would! Gruesome though it was in parts I would have it no other way with the many plots and turns that I love in action/suspense movies and books!🙃 If you are not prepared to cheer the bad and good of the “good guys”?! (I use that loosely😂) Then leave now but I’m staying!😉 Lol❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
