Disappointed.... spoiler ahead

Yes, theres a HEA, but did both deserve it. NO. Poor Skylar... he suffered too much. Then theres the „perfect“ Alpha Troy. Right... Horrible and egoistic Manchild (oh mummy dont respects me! Ooooh!) who only thinks about himself and whats in his or others pants. He maybe loves Skylar a little in the End, but trust me, thers more lust in that guy, than emotions like love. Sad sad not-love story. Skylar deserves better. A least he has his daughter, which hopefully doesnt become like her terrible alpha father. Deleted.

I really liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. I mean, the blurb sounded intriguing but I was thrilled that this book was way better than I was expecting it to be. I really enjoyed the story and the narration for this one.

First time with the narrator Kip Henderson and it for sure won’t be my last time checking out his work if he stays with the mm genre. I was really happy with how the narration of this book turned out, it made me like the book so much more. Kips voices and enthusiasm, and effort he put into this audiobook was very apparent from start to finish. I think he did a really great job.

Skylar was a cute character. I was really worried for him right from the start not knowing what was going to happen and felt horrible for how his family and pack treated him. That part of the storyline had me hooked, something that I hadn’t read/heard before. How Omega males are treated so horrible and sometimes killed just for being themselves. I was devastated thinking that horrible things would happen to Skylar throughout the book. But, as the story went on and Skylar met Angelo and found a place where he could be himself and thrive, I started loving this book. There were times though I really felt hurt and emotional strain right along with Skylar for some of the things that happened. I just wanted him to have his HEA.

Troy is an ass, from the first time we meet him up until right towards the end. But, I am actually glad he was written the way he was. It gave us some added drama and angst. It wasn’t just a super sappy hearts and flowers type of book and I really appreciated that. I loved the contrast we got between the characters and feelings and the storyline wasn’t just cut and dry. Troy’s mom ends up being a really piece of work. Like, wow she was a really horrible person who does not redeem herself and just becomes worse and worse as time went on. I don’t really understand how Troy and his whole family put up with that for as long as they did. Overall I really did enjoy this book and I am glad I picked it up, especially the audio version.

4 stars. This was everything I love about M/M Omegaverse novels. Literally everything. Well developed characters and side characters. Steamy attraction and a strong relationship between the main characters. A second chance romance. A strong family element and really just a lot of heart and emotion. Was this book perfect? No. Absolutely not. There are quite a few editing errors but for the most part the writing is really, really good.

I loved Skylar and Troy so much. They are such wonderful and deeply complex characters. I felt for the both of them and just wanted them to get their HEA. There's a five year time jump with them being separated but it makes their relationship so much stronger in the end. They both have very interesting back stories, Skylar's particularly heartbreaking and sad. The character development is great and the ending was so fucking adorable that I honestly wouldn't mind a second book (which the way it ends, it definitely feels like there's going to be another book to set up a different couple) to see more of their adorable little family.

Wonderful read. I can definitely see myself re-reading this again. That's how much I loved it.

I liked this enough that I'll probably continue the series. Usually I am not a big fan of long separations, hidden/secret children and reconciliation of chance and not need, but, this wasn't terrible. I find it hard to believe an Alpha of Troy's caliber would have been able to leave but the story had to come from somewhere. I'm sorry for what Sky had to go through to get to where he was safe, that's never my kind of read. There were a lot of holes, a lot of suspending belief but overall, it wasn't too bad.

But, still, not heavy on the romance and all the mine, mine, mine that I keep looking for.

Real quick. Normally, unless it is unreadable, I try to not nitpick on editing if it is minor, this was minor, sort of, but I feel like it just wasn't checked. These didn't read as missed, these read as someone just didn't bother to check. I volunteer as tribute if you need another set of eyes, commas in the wrong place and just unedited sentences are an easy fix. I think that even one of the Authors bios had an error...

Overall it was an ok read and I am kind of intrigued enough to see what comes next.

Rating: 4 stars

I enjoyed this story but it felt a bit disjointed to me. The story alternated chapters between Troy and Skylar’s point of view. I enjoyed Skyler’s more that I did Troy’s. Troy was okay as a character even though I didn’t like his actions, especially in the beginning. It was the writing style that threw it off for me. I don’t know which author wrote which chapters but you could tell there was a definite difference in their writing style. Also Troy’s sections had way more grammatical errors than Skyler’s. Still, I enjoyed it and am receptive to reading future books from this writing team.

2019 = 4 stars
2020 = 1 star added for good reread
2024 = reread / review written

A Second-Chance, Mpreg, Wolf-Shifter Romance

To be clear, this is not a 5-star book. I like the story (why I read it 3 x's), but the writing is average, and it's riddled with writing errors.

I used the "Mpreg Rating Scale." It's more lenient because mpreg has a high number of poorly written books. Most of which I won't read or can't finish. So one that's been read three times deserves 5 stars.

THE GOOD:
✅ The simple story flows well with a decent pace. (No skimming/skipping needed.)
✅ The reunion scene, when the alpha made things right, was my favorite part.
✅ The alpha acts like an alpha.
✅ The relationship is sweet and somewhat sexy. It has an M/F vibe to it.
✅ An adorable kid adds even more sweetness.

THE NOT-SO-GOOD:
✘ The homophobic villain is OTT and unbelievable. Her sole purpose is to cause eye-rolling drama. 🙄
✘The sex scenes are somewhat steamy, but they feel more routine than passionate.
✘ The omega who was raised to be a tough alpha cries a lot. (I found it funny. 😄)

🐺 SUMMARY & SPOILERS: 🐺

Skylar/Sky (20) expected to be an alpha like his father, but at 14, he shifted and was revealed to be an omega. His father, the pack leader, kicked him out because male omegas are rare and seen as a curse.

For six years, he wandered while working under the table and selling himself to survive. Eventually, he's sent to Angelo, a shifter who owns a bar in Oregon and helps other shifters. Angelo becomes a father figure, and they form a close bond.

Troy (24) is the youngest alpha of a Texas pack. To escape his mother who's pressuring him to find a mate, he goes to Oregon and meets Skylar.

Troy & Skylar feel a special connection, have sex, and discover they're fated mates. Troy isn't ready for a mate, especially a male omega. He has yet to prove himself to his pack. The next morning, he runs away without a word, leaving a brokenhearted Sky behind.

Skylar discovers he's pregnant. With Angelo's support, he has the baby, goes to college, and helps run the bar. He looked for Troy but was unable to find him.

5 years later, Troy has proven to be a good pack leader. He thinks about Skylar, but feels he's better off without him. A mutual friend dies, so Troy goes back to Oregon for his funeral.

At the bar, Troy sees Sky and wants to talk, but Sky avoids him for days. It’s only when Troy notices Lilly at a diner—who looks just like him—that he learns male omegas can get pregnant.

▪️The MCs reconnect and have sex.

▪️Lilly turns out to be an alpha, who needs a pack for her transition. Since Sky has no pack and Troy wants to be a part of their lives, Sky agrees to move to Texas. He feels sad leaving Angelo and his life behind.

▪️Troy's siblings and father welcome Sky & Lilly.

▪️Troy's mom, the villain, is cruel to Skylar despite it being said that shifters are more accepting. Her harsh words send Sky running. The drama is silly, b/c Sky wouldn't just leave without saying goodbye to Troy or Lilly. Where is he even going?! Tanner, Troy's P.I. brother, soon finds Sky and brings him home. There, they talk, and Sky quickly comes to his senses.

▪️ The mom lies to get Troy removed as pack alpha. She gets an alpha to challenge him, but her lies are exposed and the challenge stopped. Tanner says the old superstitions about male omegas are false—several successful packs have them, with one even a pack alpha's mate.

▪️The mom tries to kill Skylar; she's exiled. Skylar’s father severs their bond and stays with the pack.

▪️3 months later, Lilly has successfully transitioned. Troy claims Skylar by biting him during sex.

▪️Skylar's mom is found by Tanner. She remarried and had a daughter, but never stopped looking for Sky. During a tearful video chat, plans are made to celebrate Christmas together.
▪️Skylar's dad: He lost a challenge and left to find a new pack. They were all killed by an opposing pack.

It ends with a surprise visit from Angelo. Skylar announces he's going to be a grandpa again. Tanner arrives, and it's clear that Angelo and Tanner are fated mates. They're MCs in book 2, which I DNF'd.

When Skylar becomes of age to shift for the first time, his family is expecting an alpha to take over, but his shift reveals a male omega and he’s exiled from his pack. As he travels across country, he is hardened and wronged until he meets Angelo and is given a safe place. When alpha Troy walks into the bar he calls home and both feel a strong connection, they spend a night together. But one night leads to a series of oversights, transgressions and one man falling to his knees.

This story takes place over five years and there are some flashback scenes. I personally don’t usually enjoy flashbacks when they take over the story but each of these was worked into the story really well and they were short and sweet.

We get two POV’s here was well. One is Troy and one is Skylar and it’s awesome because they really work together to tell the story and there isn’t an annoying overlap of info.

I truly LOVED this story. It had everything for me:

A good plotline that didn’t get boring

The characters were phenomenal and stayed true to themselves through the entire story
(I love love loved how sweet Troy was. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He was a big, intimidating alpha, but he was soft hearted when it came to those he loved and always put his family first.)

There were major conflicts throughout the story and none of the characters got away without dealing with any issues. The worst is reading through pages and pages of conflict just to have it resolved with a simple ‘sorry’. This book covered each issue with meaningful conversations and endings that were so so good.

There were plenty of hot scenes that weren’t over the top and didn’t take over the book

I never felt the need to skip ahead as the story had good flow

If you are looking for a shifter romance, this is perfect for you!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book it was truly brilliant. Sometimes some books start and it feels you with dread because of the bad things that happen, but you still there and know it can only get better from here you hope. Well that was how this started I was so saddened that I admit I cried. But I had hope in my heart, had no idea where we where going to there was hope. So I dried my tears and plowed on. So glad I did because omg what a ride it was, just wow. Skylar was just to beautiful inside it hurt, I felt his ups and his downs. An Troy wow he presented so deliciously how could we not fall hard for him. What a connection they had to, just wow. This is a book where you find suprises and twists you can see coming and others you do. But I tell you this these two characters are worth getting into, they will draw you in and keep you til the end.
Also I find I have been left wanting and needing the next book asap, because wow just wow what a connection the two he meet at the end have just flies of the pages into your heart.
Grab this book immediately you won't regret it.
Sigh now I sit and await the next book. (Knee shaking up and down impatiently)

what happens when the person whom you should love and trust the most leaves you behind?

is there hope for a second chance when you were left solo with an unexpected baby?

super bummer that his heritage means you may need his help to keep your daughter safe regardless of what happens between you?

damn males! alphas can be bossy in good and bad ways - can this second chance romance end well for all parties?

an intense read

I'm not a huge fan of shifter books. I don't mind A/B/O, but I find when you pair it with shifters, it gets to be a bit too much. I don't want to go so far as to say that if you read one shifter A/B/O book, you've read them all.... but they all do tend to be quite similar. I mean, you have your Alpha shifter, you have your Omega shifter, they're fated pairs, they bone, they bond, and then there is a baby. The only huge difference seems to be the status of Omegas and the views on male Omegas.

So, while the plot wasn't anything overly original, I did enjoy the book. I did find Skylar a bit of a let down.... he was raised to be an Alpha, so I thought he would be a bit more badass, but other than a few lines of sass, there was really no bark in his bite. Troy was kind of just a cookie cutter Alpha.

The main reason why I am giving this 2 stars instead of 3 stars simply comes down to editing. There are a few times when the wrong name is used, ex. "Troy" instead of "Tanner". There are a few typos, like "sent" being used instead of "scent". But the main culprit was the punctuation. There were one or two spots where quotations were missing. There were periods used where commas should have been. There were tons commas loitering around where they had no business being and just as frequently, they would be completely absent when they should have been there. It wasn't so bad to the point the book was unreadable, but it was noticeable and if I had paid for this (book instead of getting it from KU), I would not have been pleased.

I do think I will give the second book a go, but considering the lack of interest shifter books spark for me, Preston Walker and Liam Kingsley more frequently being authors I tend to avoid, and the editing issues, I can't say I see myself picking up too many more of these authors shifter books.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Troy and Skylar. Skylar was on omega who was shunned from his pack when he had his first shift and it was revealed he was an omega. Skylar was 14 and told to never return. He spent the next few years trying to survive and hide who he was. When Skylar found his way to Oregon, he met Angelo, another shifter who helped him with a job and a place to stay. Angelo became a surrogate father to Skylar and was very protective of him. When Troy came to Oregon to visit a friend and take a vacation from leading his pack as the youngest alpha, he goes to the bar and smells the most amazing smell, which leads him to Skylar. Troy never believed male omegas were real and he is fascinated by Skylar and wants to talk to him. They go to Skylar's apartment and they talk for hours before giving into their attractions. When Troy knots SSkylar, they know they are fated mates, but Troy panics and flees before Skylar wakes. Skylar is devastated and then he learns he is pregnant. Years later, Troy returns to Oregon for a funeral and sees Skylar. Troy knows he made a mistake in leaving him and he wants another chance, then he learns he has a daughter. Skylar wants to hate Troy, but he still has feelings for him and he is scared he will leave him again. I loved this story. I loved Skylar, he was such a strong man who overcame so much. He loved Troy and his daughter. Troy had to grow up and learn how to be in a relationship. Troy was used to getting his own way and i think he thought it would always be that way. I love Skylar that stood up to Troy and wanted what was best for him and his daughter. Great book.

Woooo, this one is difficult to review. I did enjoy the story (for the most part). However, all the editing errors really frustrated me. This is my first book by Preston Walker and my second by Liam Kingsley (the other LK book had several editing errors as well). I was surprised considering how many books both authors have in their catalogs.

Skylar discovered he was a very rare male omega. His father had the choice, death or exile. So, at the tender age of 14, Skylar was banished from his pack and his family. Eventually, he is directed to Angelo by a friend he meets along the way. Angelo gives him a job and gets him identification.

Troy is the youngest pack Alpha EVER, even without his parent’s approval. He decides he needs a vacation so he visits an old friend in Oregon where he meets Skylar. They have a very HOT night together and discover they are fated mates. In the morning, Troy heads home. He’s not ready for a relationship and he has a pack to run. He knows Skylar deserves better.

Soon after, Skylar discovers he’s pregnant. He tries to find Troy but they never exchanged last names or phone numbers.

Five years pass and a tragedy brings Troy back to Oregon where he sees Skylar again. It’s then that Troy finds out he has a daughter. Troy needs to convince Skylar that Lilly needs to be around pack.

Back on pack grounds, Troy’s mother cannot accept that Skylar is a male omega and that Troy says they are fated mates. She does her best to sabotage the relationship.

Skylar is now of age to shift into his wolf. He is the son of an alpha and has been trained since birth to be alpha. Then the unthinkable happens, he presents as an omega. There are two things that can happen to an omega---death or exile. Ronin exiles his own son. Five years later Sky has found his way to Oregon and a bar run by a male named Angelo. He's taken in and given a job and a place to stay. While working one night, an alpha smells his scent and goes to find who is giving it off. To his surprise he finds a male omega. They spend the night together and the next day he leaves. Five years later he returns for a funeral for a friend and goes to check out Skylar because he recognizes that he left his mate, his fated mate, five years before. To his surprise not only does he find his mate but his daughter as well. He calls his brother to tell him what's going on to be yelled out by his brother, who is his beta, about what a selfish person he is to run from the one thing every wolf seeks but few are lucky to find. Now Troy has to make Sky understand what he means to him and try to get him back to Texas with him. The going will be hard because of the superstition of the wolves about omegas but the hatred his mother spews.
Fantastic and beautiful story of love and family!!

Kip Henderson did a great job narrating this one. I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't stand Troy at first for what he did to Skylar, yes I sort of understand why but that doesn't mean I liked it. When they finally got back together, I thought that Skylar should have made Troy grovel a little more :) I hated the way Omega's, rare though they are, were treated. I have read some pretty nasty way they are treated in some books, but this was just beyond horrible. 14 years old and he is pushed out of his pack. I'm glad we didn't see what Skylar went through to survive through those years before he met Angelo. Back to Troy & Skylar. When they finally decide they are going to make a go of it, I was so happy for Skylar because now he has a full pack again. When he shows up and Troy's nasty mother says what she did, it didn't surprise me. After the stupid things she did at the beginning of the story, not surprises me with her. I'm glad that Skylar didn't go far came to his sensuous rather quickly. I'm glad that things ended the way they did, with Skylar being accepted, reuniting with his Mother and another little one on the way. I so can't wait to read Angelo's & Tanner's story. Also I want to know what Angelo is. I'm thinking something in the cat family maybe?

Skylar had one night with Troy and he left leaving him pregnant.
Skylar is the son of a pack alpha with expectations of being an alpha but when he has his first change at fourteen his life is send on another path. He and the other youngster due to change get ready but Skylar finds himself looking up to the rest as large wolves but he has become a small white omega wolf and they are often killed but his father exiles him instead so he leaves with a backpack and a car with a full tank of petrol. After six years of doing what was needed to survive following a suggestion from an acquaintance he ends up at a bar run by Angelo who takes him in and gives him a job at the bar. Troy has become pack alpha at twenty-four and is being plagued by his mother so he takes a holiday to see his friend Drew. On a night out at a bar he smells an enticing scent which turns out to be a young omega. Skylar and Troy talk and end spending the night together and Troy knots Skylar meaning they are fated mates. The next morning Troy runs and within weeks Skylar finds he is pregnant. A MM MPreg shifter romance relax and enjoy.

Another hit by Preston Walker I don’t know how he keeps doing it but he does, there’s not one of his books that I haven’t loved and that’s including this one. Skylar is an omega he is kicked out from his pack and he really hates alpha’s that is until he meets his mate Troy. They have a steamy night together and Troy runs away but leaves Skylar a gift. Troy’s parents believed that he needed to be responsible and to find a mate but Troy didn’t believe them he was just too young until he came across Skylar, and after a steamy night together Troy just up and left. Years later Troy is back and he wants to claim Skylar and make up for the mistake of leaving him but Skylar wants nothing to do with Troy, but Skylar’s Daughter is turning out to be an alpha and she needs help with her shifting but only another alpha can help her. How does Troy react when he finds out that he has a daughter and an alpha one at that?. I loved Skylar he sure was stubborn but he would do anything for his daughter, and for picking himself up after his pack kicked him out for being a lowly omega. A fantastic story a 5 plus +++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Young fated Alpha loves 'im and leaves 'im - in a family way

Fated omegaverse mates separated - with mpreg

3.5 stars - maybe not quite a 4 star experience for me (as it’s not particularly nuanced or overly compelling) but more enjoyable than most 3 star books (as it’s satisfyingly interesting and sweet and wonderfully, romantically escapist)

This nicely sweet omegaverse romance pairs an abandoned but toughened Omega and a strong but sensitive Alpha who screws up big time (but somewhat understandably) and needs to make significant amends. On the one hand it was a quick and easy romantic reading experience. At the same time, it also presented enough slightly different or unique complications, including a twist on the fated mate trope causing the pair to be separated due to youth, prejudice, and overwhelming demands on an extremely young pack alpha. Throw in an unknown child and it had just a bit of unexpected flair while still remaining a low-angst, nicely satisfying, and gently escapist romance (which is often just what I’m looking for or just plain need).

I especially appreciated the (minor but important) presence of a female Alpha, as I like it when omegaverse settings draw upon at least a bit of the potentially rich tapestry provided by the range of a-b-o gender mixes in addition to the main Alpha / Omega pairing. (I’ve read so much about the hot male Alphas and sweet/sensual/heated male Omegas, sometimes I like to know what the betas are up to, or how a female Alpha would experienced things differently.)

For two prolific authors, there were more editing errors than I expected (including at one point saying Troy was the only alpha over 18 in the pack and then almost immediately mentioning that his older brother as an alpha), as well as typos, and even nonsensical editorial placeholders in one of the author’s bios.

Skylar is kicked out of his pack for being a male omega. Seen as been a bad omen on a pack, male Omegas see one of two fates, death or a backless existence. So Sky does what he must to survive.
When he meets Troy one night at work, he shares a wonderful night of passion with the Alpha and finds they are fated mates. But the Alpha leaves and Sky has no way to find the Alpha, even after finding out they have a child on the way. Years later, Troy is back to claim what is his... But is it too late? Or is he just in time for his Alpha daughter's first shift?

I love this story. Fated mates, adorable children, strong Omegas and Alphas. Sky and Troy are sexy and sweet. Mistakes and misunderstandings can not destroy what these two men have.

I received this book as an advanced reader's copy and voluntarily am leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Could not put it down. Fell in love with Skyler from the start. To go through what he did at 14, then he did what he had to so he could survive. Life has finally done him a solid. He has a father figure, (love Angelo) a place to live and friends. Then Troy happened. Heartache, runaway mate, and a pregnancy. Complications arise, first male omegas are seriously frowned upon, which started Skylers life change, and they certainly do not have babies. But Skyler met his fated mate in Troy.... what happened? So much heartache and love.... Love lost and found, and old love returns. I hope Preston continues this in a series about Troy's brothers. Awesome book, well written and so much happening you just have to keep reading.

I really enjoyed this book! It took me a while to like Troy but once he decided to be the Alpha he needed to be he grew on me fast. I absolutely fell in love with Skylar and have added him to my ever growing list of people I need in my real life. Skylar's strength was amazing and the way he was able to pull through everything that was thrown at him is inspiring. This story has just the right amount of angst mixed with romance. These two author's did a great job of writing this story together and meshing the story line so that it was hard to know who wrote what. I hope there are more stories in this world they have created and that they have Kip Henderson narrate them. The narration on this was spot on. I had chills, tears, smiles, and all of the feels spectrum because the narrator makes you feel every bit of it with his voice.

Best Book Ever

If I could give this a higher rating than a 10 I would. It was that good.

This book had all the things I loved in a good book: main character was an underdog, hardship, but not too much, betrayal, angst, goes from nothing to have everything he needs, wolf shifters and mpreg.

I'm so glad this is turning out to be a series. I got the second book and can't wait to start reading it. The author is one of my favorites and he never fails to impress me and he never fails to write a great book.

I loved how each chapter told the point of view from the main characters. This allows you to get into their head and to see things from their perspective and to know their thoughts and feelings.

I highly highly recommend this book. If you love the things I listed above in a book, then you will absolutely love this. I encourage you to go get it.

This was amazing. I have literally been jonesing for a good shifter romance and this book just fell into my lap.

It was amazing. It was a very quick read and if you ask me I could have read so much more. I want more of Troy and Skylar. The story is really engaging and is very well-paced. I couldn't stop reading it and finished it in a single sitting.

Troy and Skylar are both very well defined characters with their own unique personalities and I loved how they came together. I loved their story, also the plot and the world this story takes place in is very well fleshed out. I especially liked how central of a character Lilly was, she was their daughter and I liked that she played a very integral part in their story.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I can't wait to jump into the next one and that's precisely what I'm going to be doing next.

When Skyler, the assumed next alpha, has his first shift change at age 14 he's not the alpha anticipated, he's an Omega, a male Omega with female pheromones. He's luckier than most, he has two choices, exhile or death. The majority of male Omegas have long been considered bad omens and killed immediately.

This is not my prefered type of love story, but I'm giving five stars anyway as this is a great presentation of bigotry, love, understanding and acceptance. I do warn you, if you object to same sex love, do not read.

this is an alpha omega mpreg wolf shifter story, that has plenty of emotion, action and great characters in it that will pull you in to their world from the first page and not let you go until long after the book is finished. Omega Skyler is tossed from his pack when he is 14 for being a male omega a curse that is often seen as something worth being killed for my many packs.
Troy is the youngest pack alpha in history and his medalling mother is trying to make him insane by trying to get him to find a mate....
Looks like fate has other plans for both of them!

When Skylar and four other boys are of age to shift for the first time there is great expectation that Skylar will be an Alfa and eventually take over the pack from his father. After shifting Skylar is as stunned as everyone else that he is an omega. His father chooses to exile Skylar rather than have him killed.
Six years later Skylar is working in a bar when in walks Troy. Troy immediately sets his sights on Skylar and nothing will stop him. After one night together Troy runs but fives years later he is back.

Great story, bad editing

I love Kingsley and Walker books, I really do. I was hoping for this book that, after a few years under their belts, they would be better writers and employ editors. It is truly unfortunate they have not.

The book was ruined for me with apostrophe happy plurals, run-on sentences, and misspellings on every page. Some words weren't even actual words (theirs's, really?).

I am also gravely disappointed in their publisher, Equal Love. They should have picked up the slack and supplied them with good editors. That's part of a publishing house's job.
