Aurora Stephenson is the ultimate Lady, the picture of grace and perfection. She’s also an effing mess.
Her first fiancé cheated on her with just about anything, and she’d told herself that it was just him – that it was in his nature, but now Aiden Archer is happily married, and devoted to his wife. Her second fiancé dropped her like an old shoe at the first argument, and weeks later, Dane de Luz was professing his undying love for another girl.
As much as it stings, she’s learnt that the problem wasn’t them – it’s her. She’s distant, detached, and consequently, no one thinks she has a heart.
They’re wrong.
She’s passionate, determined, and loving, too. For years, she’s cared for, cared about one person beyond anyone else.
Nevermind the fact that King Rupert isn’t exactly what one would call alive.

One hundred years. For one hundred years, he’s slept, cryogenized, until she woke him.
They believed he’d done this to himself voluntarily, to avoid some sort of plague. Let them think so. Better than to admit that he’d earnt his doom by being stupid enough to offend a Fay.

Such a great book!

I couldn’t wait for this book to be released and it’s brilliant, perfect - completely worth the wait.

SPOILERS (as little as possible)
Aurora has been engaged to two of the Kings of Ghia but her interest has always been in her work. Her work has been to revive the sleeping King of Ferren and his beloved daughter, but she doesn’t know about the curse they are under and despite her being successful at reviving others, the Regent of Ferren and the Council won’t let her revive him.
King Rupert has slept for a hundred years. His wife (a political match) was stupid and brought the wrath of Malificent on herself. Unfortunately Rupert and Aurora (his daughter) were caught in it. Rory (as he calls adult Aurora) explains everything that has changed in a hundred years to him after illegally reviving him. He can only trust Rory and so she becomes his advisor. Will he be able to keep his kingdom, save his daughter, contact Mal, and romance Rory?

This book is brilliant and May Sages writing flows from the pages smoothly- you just never want it to end. The characters are great and it was nice to discover a little more about Mal.

I’ve just re-read this book as I’m re-reading all of May’s books for about the tenth time (if not more) - yes they’re just that good! Unfortunately I found that my review hadn’t been posted after I first read it, I assume I didn’t press submit but honestly her work is amazing and I hope you’ll enjoy every book as much as I have! 😊

This series is all about putting the fairy tale on it’s head and making new and interesting additions to it. Even though the cover shows the old fashioned version ...him kissing her...it's actually her kissing him that gets his heart beating. I’m sure you could see that twist from a mile coming. Duh.

But this short little book has some other really nice twists, which makes it more exciting then the original. Our heroine Aurora is a scientist who defrosts King Rupert from 100 years of cryosleep. He has to figure out how to rule again and how to defrost his beloved daughter and together they battle her father and his minions, as he wants to stay regent and not deal with this pesky king. This is a rather straightforward book with some great characters and a good storyline. If I would compare books to food, I would suggest this resembles everybody's favourite fast food ..whatever that may be for you. It’s easy, quick and leaves you quietly happy afterwards.

totally loved it! this girl always manage to catch me right from the start! loved the characters and the story lines are so clever! it had some really funny parts to (the bathroom specially) and, once again, i totally loved this dominarix/loving version of Malificent! but i took a star because i got really frustrated at the very final word on the book! the very end of the series left so many questions and no mention of another book, even when the author has been insinuating it all over this book and the ones before this! there is a mention of an expected war between the gods and the mortal world! what about that????

Well … this book was very different from the original story of sleeping beauty. And I way the is what I am looking for a new perspective and a retelling of a old classic tale.

In the beginning I was a bit confused because both is daughter and the woman how later wakes him up both has the same name Aurora .
That through me of and made the two time line a bit confusing but after a while I got right back in to the story and things got interesting.

This book was really fun and interesting and I definitely made me feel that I want to read more of sleeping beauty retellings from now on. Because the original story is very beautiful and it can be dark in some places .

I hade a great time reading this book and would recommend it for a quick fun easy time when you just need something new and interesting.

Great retelling of a treasured fairy tale

I was not really sure what to expect when I downloaded this title to my Kindle and I was so pleasantly surprised. What a wonderful story. I loved the twists and turns, all the characters and the pacing of the story. I don't want to say too much because it would ruin the experience for the next reader but, I will say that this is a very enjoyable book and I will definitely be reading more by this author.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This is an interesting take on the classic.
The main characters are in the book.
However, the author took a different approach to the story.
You will love the twist.
I loved the storytelling + the characters.

Sleeping Beauty (ARC) by May Sage: ***** Very good!
I loved this story! It is a quick read, but the storyline is engaging and action packed. The writing is fast paced and flows well, and the characters are well developed, smart, and likable. It ends with a HFN, but leaves some dangling threads for the next book. I enjoyed it! Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book.

Really good read

Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie so I was very excited when I stumbled on to this book. It felt rushed at the end. The whole book was a unique take on predatory that I loved. I felt there should have been more written to conclude the story. I will now go back to the beginning of the series I started on the 7th book.

Rupert, a sleeping king

Oh how lovely is this beating breast that carries with it a desire for loves true nest.
I'm writing reviews now when I normally don't cause the sage arrives stories release dates by their prospective anticipation they generate which is hated by ratings and reviews.
And I want to cause this fire to rage not just to bank.

This is my second favorite book of the series (A Little Siren is remains my favorite) and I'm counting down to the next book. I love how the author twists the standard fairy tales (Aurora isn't the sleeping beauty this time) and how the series intertwines (her previous reaction resulted in Beauty & the Beast).

New Take on an Old Tale

I really enjoyed this version of sleeping beauty. Rupert and Rori are perfect for.each other. And for once, the princess is the hero instead of being the one needing rescuing.

I'm so glad that May has published this. I've been waiting for ages. Her fairytales are amazing and I just love the characters. This story is better if you've read the rest of the series, as lots of characters are mentioned in passing. But I can't wait to see where she takes it next!

I enjoyed this book a lot! It was interesting and the new way it showed these characters and how the roles were reversed was awesome.

A little disappointed that Ms. Sage normal sexy flair was missing. But the story was amazing anyway!

More!

I want more! I love king Rupert and Rory but I absorbed it so fast it left me wanting more. This was sleeping beauty in reverse. The damsel was the hero. Please tell me they'll be more of these two!

Enjoyed this little short. King Rupert and his family are frozen for a 100 years. Princess Aurora besides being Royalty she is also a scientist who is trying to wake them up. Interesting cast of characters.

An interesting retelling of Sleeping Beauty where roles are twisted and not everything is what it seems.
I was skeptical when I finished it, but after some time I was struck that I really liked it and I'm looking forward to reading next book in the series! Only this author can do this to me!

Oh, how long I've waited for this story. I really like May's Fary Tales, and Rory doesn't disapoint. This is a really cool twist on one of my favorite fairytales.

Nice

Another entry in the series, I enjoyed the read, I only wish it was longer, as it only took about an hour to read. Nonetheless it was solid.

Good, but left you wanting more

Well written, but no ending. I do love a new take on a fairy tale. I felt like the book just stopped short with no ending.

What?

It started out all right. But, as it reached the end of what should have been the first section, it stopped. No more story. No resolution of any of the major conflicts. No romance between the main characters, only the beginnings of attraction. This was called a complete novella, but it was barely a prologue to set the scene. I've read longer first chapter excerpts.

Could have been a good book if the author had bothered to actually write it.
