Let's see if I can keep this short and simple for a change.
To start with a quote from Crispy. "It's just that really formalised bdsm makes me want to laugh, it's so tidy and lacking in soul. It's the weird and wacky or dark and gut wrenching stories that stick with you."
I couldn't agree more.
At first, my eyes were flying over the pages when handsome college kid Sterling, who has only recently discovered that the BDSM scene could be his thing, visits a club and suddenly spots his stoic and cool professor. Now, my professors mostly were shabbily-dressed and unfit, but I can still appreciate the student/professor kink. Anyway, Sterling begs his professor to take him on as his sub, but the man has been disappointed a little too often in subs. A naive, spoilt brat, who also happens to be his student, is the last person he realizes he should want.
So far, so holding-your-breath-in-anticipation yummie. Then the story slowly peters out...
This book has NO SOUL.
It never sucked me in, chewed on me and spit me -- reduced to an emotional and hot ‘n bothered mess -- out at the end! This book didn't shimmer with intensity, there were no sparks that ignited my imagination.
Instead, it turned out to be much like a manual for safe, sane and consensual (SSC) BDSM. The kid was spanked. And spanked again. And all he ever was, was spanked. And then his dom made sure to apply a decent amount of Arnica cream to his bum. Because, heaven forbid, his skin would feel a little too raw afterwards.
And apart from the occasional spankings and another one of those hellish, homophobic fathers to create tear-jerky drama and move forward the plot, a bad dom entered the stage (so the authors could drive home their point of SSC once more) and the ‘deferred sex’ card (deferred penetration in this particular case) was played out. I’m usually not really opposed to this trope. I like a dash of unreleased sexual tension in my books. But when the authors keep dangling that carrot in front of you for a big chunk of the story and then, when you finally get to eat it, it tastes bland and unseasoned... I’m just not amused, you know? At that point, I think I deserve something more than a lukewarm scene that emphasizes on quickly cleaning up afterwards to avoid the sheets from getting sticky.
And oh dear, didn’t the lube just end up everywhere?!
It’s a fucking book. It doesn’t have to be fucking reality! I don’t even care about my sheets in reality. They might as well have gotten a thick towel and stayed in that exact spot during the deed instead.
So, basically everything Shelley already said and I’d like to add my heartfelt 'meh!' to that.

3.5 Stars For The Blog of Sid Love
This novel comes with lots of stars and the highest of recommendations; so of course I needed to see for myself.
I like a BDSM book occasionally, it’s not my real life kink of course - sub-space is a myth in my opinion, (that shit just stings - and my husband understandably, won’t switch) so I enjoy reading about this lifestyle instead, it’s exciting. I love the whole D/s dynamic and can respectably appreciate the need and reasoning behind it all – I’ve read enough of these books to get it.

The stand out element of this novel is the tangible sizzling chemistry between these two; even fully clothed the atmosphere is thick with it. It’s great stuff! Like goose bumps on top of goose bumps. I shiver recalling it …
At 30% Sterling’s excitement and anticipation is so intense it becomes contagious. I wanted – no – I needed to feel it all - with him - through him (cos I've already told you, I’m a wimp)I craved the firsts – all of them – the first touch– the first spanking – the first bondage scene – the first plugging, the first fu … you get the picture. I was excited for Sterling, but I was all thighs clenching anticipation for me!
Now this is where I’m going to stop and say: If you are BDSM curious and need a gentle easing in? Or even if you’re into BDSM novels and fancy a light, lovable read? This book is PERFECT for you. Honestly, it is a sweet sweet story that has captured the heart of many readers. It is sexy and heart felt. The motivations and dynamic of Dom and sub are clearly defined without feeling like you’re reading a manual. The S&M is very tame in comparison to many other novels of its kind. If this is what you are looking for? Read no further – you just found it. Enjoy it, honestly – it’s a lovely story. Just ignore the rest of what I have to say, chances are you wouldn’t agree.

The authors do a great job of building the tension, but when it comes to fulfilling the promise … it falls short for me.
I prefer my BDSM novels to feel more realistic and less fantastical. For me this was too tame and … oh I’m just going to come out and say it. There wasn’t enough penetration and I was bored with everything in between - okay – there - I said it.

Wonderful story of a fledgeling BDSM relationship starring Sterling and Owen, which finally found it's way to the front of the queue on the kindle after 6 months! Loved this one, I'm really on a roll with my stories at the mo. 4.5 stars and 
Owen Sawyer is an experienced Dom, and since his last major relationship ended some years ago, is content to visit the local BDSM club for occasional hook ups.
Sterling is a young guy at college, certain that he's gay but unsure as to what else he may want. He visits the club one night with his friend Alex and is startled to see one of his former tutors there (Owen). When Owen starts a scene with a woman, many peoples eyes are fixed on the undressed woman; Sterling's however are fixed firmly on Professor Sawyer, and so begins Sterling's obsession with getting Owen to teach him the BDSM lifestyle.
At first, Owen is extremely reluctant and more or less tells Sterling to take a hike...he's too young, has no experience, yada yada...but Sterling's persistence and gentle 'stalking' finally pays off in spades, and they begin a teacher/pupil relationship which quickly turns into a whole lot more
.
The only character I had a serious issue with in this story was Sterling's dad, and what a complete prat he was....conceited, self-centred, bossy, arrogant, and a bullying homophobic moron
...he definitely wins my prize for Dad of the Week!! Sterling's mum did love him but didn't want to go against her husband's wishes until the very end, and his sister just loved Sterling for himself and couldn't have cared less whether he was gay or not. Add in to the mix some really good friends particularly Owen's ex Michael, who now lives in Australia with the guy who could give him what Owen couldn't, but who only wants the best for Owen, and you have a tremendous read.

I completely enjoyed this book. Sterling and Owen make a great couple. The story is long enough to build the relationship which I appreciated. The interaction between them has such strong chemistry the book is like a meth lab in your hands.
I know I should write more but the bottom line is that, for me, this was a great and enjoyable read in every way.
ETA: There is an age difference. Sterling is not yet 21 and Owen is 35. They don't have actual sex until past halfway through the book but that is part of the build up that was delicious. The graphic BDSM is mostly all spanking (hand, brush, paddle, crop) and control in non humiliating ways.

Re-read November 2016
The first time I read this book I gave it 4 stars. The second time, 5 stars. After my third read, I let the 5 star rating stand. HOT BDSM and strong emotions make this a WIN for me.

This was another re-read for me after over a year. I had to bump it up to 5 stars. I don't remember why I gave it 4 to begin with, but the second read was definitely 5! Fuck yeah M/M BDSM! Love that shit. :)

I'm not someone who finds BDSM intrinsically appealing, but there a few authors who can make me feel why and how it works for their characters. Jane Davitt is one of those. When BDSM is part of the relationship dynamic of a couple (or trio) forming an emotional bond, then it works for me. Owen's protective centered intelligence and Sterling's sweet, needy passion, really came together as good chemistry. I had a hard time putting this down. The emotional moments were strong, but not angsty, and the ending was satisfying.

In my head I started to list the things I didn't like and then switched gears and wanted to list the things I did like... and came up blank. Which... can't be. It's not a bad book. But I didn't find a single thing I liked at this point. (Except one scene that made me go further and read one more chapter.)
I didn't like the characters. Sterling, the sub is really petulant and I think Owen is too, in a different way. I dunno who Owen is looking for, coz no one seems to be good for him and Sterling is not that different from the others who came before him. Sterling wanted to be a Dom, but upon seeing Owen in a club, he instantly changed his mind, which I found too swift. He explained it later and it made sense, but I expected more struggle.
I didn't like the relationship development, if it can even be called a relationship, because they had an arrangement at best. Despite that, Sterling was already in love after like 2 sessions. But they weren't even in a normal D/s relationship yet. Sterling was still learning and Owen had to relearn some things. They both struggled with this dynamic from what I've seen. So how Sterling fell in love that fast is a mystery to me. I also didn't find and ounce of chemistry between them. It didn't sizzle, didn't burn, didn't even tingle.
I didn't like the writing. It's, good, great even, but it didn't work for me. Mostly because my native brain couldn't comprehend the overly long sentences. I had to read them 2-3 times to make sense of them. And it was exhausting.
I thought this book was written as a serial, in that case the tiny time jumps would have made sense, but it's not a serial. A few days here, a couple of weeks there. Which means we skipped over some - in my opinion - important things. As a BDSM book which happens to have a main character who is completely new to this world, I would have expected to see everything on page. From the moment he first knelt in front of Owen, to the first time he got a plug shoved up his ass. There were plenty of on page punishing though (spanking, fingering, nipple play with clamps, ball gag, wax play? etc), but I expected to see the exact process how he got from doing the easiest thing to the hardest that required trust. I thought I would see each step. And here is why I'm conflicted: that was all just expectation on my part, but in the end this current scene was too much for me. What with the wax and the nipple clamps. I like BDSM more without toys. Blindfold and some bondage is okay but anything more makes me uncomfortable. Why not use your own hand? It's perfectly capable. But that's just me being picky.
I'm not sure what I was waiting for, but it didn't come.
Edit: one more thing I forgot momentarily. If felt like they were putting on a show. Like they were doing this BDSM thing for others not themselves. Owen was worried about his reputation as a Dom, and Sterling desperately wanted to be up on display at the club.

This was a great, well written BDSM book. The relationship between Owen and Sterling is really fully explored with emotion and the sex scenes were well done with purpose to the story (and not as hardcore as some other books I have read).
The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is there were a few scenes that occurred off page, but were referred to, that seemed important enough to the relationship that I would have liked more than just a passing reference to.

Poignant journey for a young man finding his way and the pseudo-reluctant man who guides him. In truth, it is a road taken together for like they say, "You can never step into the same river twice." Owen allows himself to find more than he expected, yet desperately wanted and Sterling receives more than he thinks he deserves. It is touching and quite beautiful to watch unfold.

This novel follows the beginnings of Sterling (sub) before and after his meeting with Owen (college professor and Dom). I usually love novels of apprenticeship wherein we follow the evolution of a young sub who does not know much of the BDSM Community, but very eager to learn. He does so through his mistakes and successes. The authors also show how a young inexperienced Dom (Kirk) may commit involuntarily significant physical and psychological damage.
- The majority of the BDSM books I've read have included two (or three) people who are already in the scene or one who sort of stumbles onto it accidentally. This story contains a character who's a total novice but goes actively searching for what he feels he's been missing.
- The story doesn't just focus on all the wonderful things that happen during Sterling's initiation into BDSM. It covers the difficulties too: the misunderstandings, the fears, the failures...and the relationship seems all the stronger for those things.
- I loved how pushy Sterling is (and how nonchalant he is about it), especially when the two men are first getting to know each other. He's determined to snag Owen by researching not only BDSM, but also the specific things Owen is into--even after Owen has turned him down.
- I also loved how Owen is so puzzled by his reaction to Sterling but never allows his bewilderment to show. He's a stoic Dom the vast majority of the time during the initial phase of their relationship, but he's losing his heart a piece at a time.
- I'm a huge fan of books that hold off on sex until there's been some buildup, and boy, does this book have the buildup on that account. Quite a nice payoff, too, when it finally happens.
The characterization is solid, and I found the story sweet but not overly so. Owen and Sterling's interactions had me hooked right from the start; their preconceived notions about each other make for some deliciously charged scenes, both sexual and non-sexual. Interesting novel.

- I loved how pushy Sterling is (and how nonchalant he is about it), especially when the two men are first getting to know each other. He's determined to snag Owen by researching not only BDSM, but also the specific things Owen is into--even after Owen has turned him down.
- I also loved how Owen is so puzzled by his reaction to Sterling but never allows his bewilderment to show. He's a stoic Dom the vast majority of the time during the initial phase of their relationship, but he's losing his heart a piece at a time.
- I'm a huge fan of books that hold off on sex until there's been some buildup, and boy, does this book have the buildup on that account. Quite a nice payoff, too, when it finally happens.
The characterization is solid, and I found the story sweet but not overly so. Owen and Sterling's interactions had me hooked right from the start; their preconceived notions about each other make for some deliciously charged scenes, both sexual and non-sexual. Interesting novel.

Despite the fact that I read a lot of BDSM erotica, I often find myself questioning what it is that compels people to need the dynamics of the Dom/sub relationship. I read the books because I am fascinated with the intricacies of BDSM (in a voyeuristic/train wreck way) & because they are usually heavy on the erotica and light on the (sometimes) too saccharine romance. Rarely do I find a book that makes it all make perfect sense; that balances BDSM & romance without compromising either. Bound and Determined was so beautifully crafted that I could see that the Dom/sub characteristics of the characters were as intrinsic as their hair colour. The needs of the Dom, Owen were perfectly balanced by the needs of the sub, Sterling. This is a book that I will happily read again and again.

I'm a huge fan of these authors and this story does nothing to change that view. What I most especially like is the smaller touches that bring the story home. Always the characters are flawed - but not fatally and not in any way that prohibits the love from growing. The way actions are described makes them very visceral to me. In the beginning half there is a point when they are going upstairs for the first time and Owen grabs Sterling's hand and he holds it tight and in that moment I was back at a time where my Dad did that with me before we did something important. That slight squeezing of the hand that tells you someone else is there, cares, and you are not alone. Those types of things mean that I really feel the characters.
Although Sterling is a bratty sub to some extent you sense it is not out of a need to be contrary but a need to know. That let me treat and see it differently. The relationship develops slowly (sometimes painfully so) but it never left the station in spite of the issues. Very well done!

I've always been intrigued by the world of BDSM and the relationship between a Dom/Sub. In this story Owen is an overpowering presence that Sterling needed in his life especially with a Father who thought he could rule and control Sterling, using his influence and power to control his son. Asshole had another thing coming. Sorry, had to put that out there.
I admire the way Owen (the Dom) was written up in this story and Jane in her own way wrote Owen and Sterling's relationship uniquely. Even for those of you who aren't into reading these types of stories I would still recommend reading this one. I was absorbed and drawn into the story and the details...oiye! I felt like I was myself the Sub. Made me want to be there. Jane mastered it, brought it to light, gave it and pulled this story off magnificently.

I don’t read a whole lot of BDSM but when I’m in the mood for one, and I’m lucky enough to get something good, I am a happy lady.
This book didn’t disappoint.
One of my favourite Owen Moments: is right in the beginning where Sterling follows him out of the club after his scene with Carol, where Owen turns on him and tells him to “Back Off”. So Alpha, which of course is a weakness of mine. Another where he tells Sterling that he knows he is his fairy godmother.
What I liked: I really liked that there is a DEEPER connection between the two MC’s than just a bunch of kinky fuckery. Even though I think Owen wasn’t all honest with himself, I thought he had just as many issues as Sterling, he didn’t trust himself to care/love for quite a while there and he never dealt with it to my knowledge consciously. I’ve had a taste of this kind of book once and I found I enjoy it. I like the little things in-between the scenes, the everyday life and the feeling and emotion. I would have honestly liked a longer path with these two has I felt that some of the stuff could have been a little more rounded maybe? I would not have mind a chapter or two more just maybe bringing everything full circle but all and all I really enjoyed this. It made me WANT to read. Sometimes I find myself reading something because I NEED to read, and not because I really want to know and experience more with the characters. This wasn’t one of those books. I really liked the feel. I liked that Sterling was “strong” and could stand on his own feet. I liked that he talked back, not blatantly disrespectful but he spoke his mind when he felt the need.
What I don’t like : Than the absurd crap with his father wasn’t brought to a clear point. That his mother (or in my opinion excuse for a female breeder) didn’t stand up to that ashole in a spectacular show of motherly protectiveness. I didn’t quite like that I felt as if though this was a major issue that wasn’t resolved to my liking. It played such a big part in who Sterling is and what makes him tick.
I think the big turn off in BDSM for me is when the sub is pathetic and needy in a bad way. This was such a breath of fresh air because Sterling was spectacular. I loved it. I want more. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of this author.

Good Lord I was so turned on by this book. This is flaming hot! Professor Owen makes me feel all melty inside. A profession and student theme is always one to trip my trigger. This one was absolutely fabulous! I liked how Owen introduced Sterling into the BDSM world. I recommend this to all new to BDSM who want to read how it works. Obviously, they need to be m/m lovers too.
I was rather impressed with Ms. Davitt's story. I felt such sorry for Sterling due to his asshole father. What a jerk off! I can see why Sterling does what he does. Poor boy. I'm glad he didn't substitute Owen as a father figure.
What I liked most about this story is the give and take between Owen and Sterling. I liked how they adjusted to each other. It made it feel so much more real. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary romances, but it seems I like it when it involves BDSM.
I don't know if Ms. Davitt is in the lifestyle, but what she wrote was pretty dead on. Either she did good research or she's in the lifestyle. She wrote it in a realistic way which I can relate to and be totally turned on by. So tasty. I'm glad I came across her book. I want to read more.

This book is nothing like I thought it would be. To be honest, I was a little frightened of it. It is my first BDSM experience and my first male-male book. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to relate and therefore get nothing out of it. Boy, was I wrong. I loved it!
Owen and Sterling are such a sweet couple. The trust that Sterling had in Owen made their sub-dom relationship romantic, caring and loving. Not at all frightening, demeaning or cruel.
I am so thankful to my friend for recommending this book. It was way outside of my comfort zone and may never have read it on my own. The funny part is from page 1 on I never felt uncomfortable. This book is a tale of love. It's a great lesson in trust and devotion. If only we could all be as lucky as this couple. {sigh}

We meet Sterling, who has developed an interest in BDSM. So his friend Alex who is apart of the scene takes him to a club, so he can get a feel of what it’s all about. His intention is to find someone to teach him the ways, and his teacher will come in the most unlikely person. When a scene between a Dom and a submissive starts playing out in the club, Sterling recognizes the need to be on his knees, the need to submit. He recognizes the Dom, his professor from his Freshman year Owen Sawyer, and just by looking Sterling knows he’s found his teacher.
Getting Owen on board is the difficult part, because he doesn’t want to take on a new submissive and Sterling is 20 to his 35 also Sterling was once his student and attends the same university he teaches at. Talk about a ruination of his career if anyone was to find out. Sterling is one not to be ignored; he wants Owen and is determined to have him. With a little coaxing (stalking) Sterling finally gets Owen to take him on as a submissive, and the things that lie ahead will be difficult for both men.
Owen is a seasoned Dom, so he knows what he is doing. He has no patience for an unruly and resistant sub, so he can’t understand why he took on the boy. There is something about Sterling, making Owen feel things he hasn’t felt in a long time and he’s willing to risk it all for a little time with him. All the fun he will have teaching Sterling some discipline, and making him his submissive.
The book unfolds with Owen and Sterling both learning from each other. It’s a slow progression into the world of BDSM, there is no diving into anything hardcore, Owen takes his time with Sterling and gradually introduces him to pleasure to be had in pain. There are a few shaky situations along the way. Sterling’s relationship with his father plays a role (an asshole father), and his insecurities in being what Owen wants. Sometimes Sterling tries to get Owen to do things his way, and that often causes a bit strain in the developing relationship. Though Sterling has the desire to submit, he’s afraid to truly bend to Owen’s will.
I really enjoyed reading this book, though a bit wordy at some points and many unnecessary tidbits about mundane things. The book is an honest look into the world of BDSM, the slow development between Owen and Sterling is the highlight of the book. With that said, I became very disappointed with Sterling at the end of the book, and I felt he was forgiven far too easily for what he did. I felt like the whole lesson of the book was lost in that situation; everything Owen had taught him was thrown out the window. Whether he was hurting or not, I realized that he never learnt a darn thing and once again proven his immaturity. It could have been a higher rated book, just felt like the ending was unnecessary. I know we have to make mistakes to learn from them, I just think Sterling’s mistake was too much. I found it far too predictable and unnecessary.
SideNote- This book would be a great introduction to readers new to reading BDSM, its takes baby steps and doesn’t throw anything hardcore all at once.
SideNote 2- Really liked Owen he was a perfect Dom, able to recognize his mistakes and fix them. Sterling lost me at ‘I am an idiot, so I go and do stupid things’.

Beautifully written, Bound and Determined is a book that does not disappoint. I’ve got books by both authors and their styles compliment each other hugely and make for very cool reading.
Sterling is such a brat and I loved his spark and innate cheekiness. It is such a perfect foil for Owen’s more reserved nature and theirs is a relationship that doesn’t always go smoothly as a result. The conflict was well written with the focus centered on the characters internal struggles. It was easy to read and didn’t devolve into any silly BDSM tropes and Nancy Drew and the gang did not make an appearance I was pleased to note. heh.
The relationship between Sterling and Owen is what carries this book. The slow development of trust between both men and the exploration of their boundaries, desires, and the chemistry that has drawn them together, was what made this a cut above other BDSM novels I’ve read recently. Nothing was rushed and the authors seemed to allow Sterling and Owen to stick to their own timetable. The slow building of sexual tension as a result was off the charts and appealed to me immensely. The sex is incredibly good and they nailed that sense of trust implicit within a D/s relationship. Rawr. It was totally hot and made for magic reading.
A lush, intense and engaging read I got totally wrapped up in. If you’ve not read, then I highly recommend you get your backside over to Loose Id and buy it. One of my favourite reads this year.

This is quite possibly my favorite BDSM book I’ve ever read. Because it’s a book that really gets it. Not just the “what” of BDSM, and not just the general “why”—but the nuances of what a D/s relationship is about. And particularly the nuances of how it feels to enter a D/s relationship for the first time. There’s a fantastic moment when Sterling and Owen are embarking on their relationship and are having a discussion in Owen’s living room. Owen walks a few feet away to sit in a chair leaving Sterling “stranded in what felt like a lot of space.” When Owen tells Sterling to come kneel beside him, it’s described as a “lifeline”—the direct order is a relief to Sterling, though he doesn’t know exactly why. It’s such a perfect moment to capture, how confusing and distressing sudden physical distance from a Dom can feel to a sub.
Sterling is a wonderful character—cheeky, a bit cocky, a bit naïve, but thoroughly sweet under it all. And prickly Owen is a fun Dom—I found myself as eager as Sterling for the moments of tenderness Owen sometimes allows himself. The BDSM scenes are incredibly hot and cover a good range—spanking, wax play, speech restriction, nipple clamps, and more. Absolutely a must read.

A mediocre BDSM novel. I loved the premise of the story, but it just didn’t deliver.
It took me a while to finish this. It was at times overly detailed and therefore felt like this book lasted forever.
I am always one to rate my books mostly on how I liked the characters. If I love the MC’s they could be looking at donkey droppings and I’m still interested.
My main problem with this book was Owen. He was just too Dom-ish for my taste. He was so stern and so correct. And the way he sometimes talked to Sterling.. If I were Sterling I probably would have tried to throttle him...
Sterling was a great character, I liked him a lot, but I just didn't feel like Owen deserved him.
I like it when my guys do insignificant things just so I can get to know them better, but it didn’t work for me in this book. I was pretty bored most of the time. And being bored in a BDSM novel, never a good sign...

Lovely story, believable and well-handled conflicts, perfect pacing. The characters, though, are the real hook. Owen has now joined Tobias (Submission) and Holden (Bran's Story), along with Toreth (The Administration) and Shane (Fun With Dick and Shane) on my "Perfect Doms" shelf. Sterling is far from a perfect sub at the start of this story, but reading through his journey to get there is an experience not to be missed. Then you get to the ending and it's just a chorus of "awwwww"...because it's perfect!

I've read several books by these authors, and I have really enjoyed them. Bound and Determined was an enjoyable read but I didn't enjoy it as much as Room At The Top and Truthful Change.
In some part this is because Owen and Sterling annoyed me as characters. As much as I enjoyed reading about their D/s relationship and their growing togetherness as a couple their characters irritated me at times. Sterling was irritating but not in a cute and bratty way and I found Owen to be too condescending at times. To me, they worked better as a couple but not as individuals.
Additionally, some parts of the story seemed to drag and I didn't think much of the ending.
Strong writing and good character development for the most part but for some reason I just did not connect as much with this story as I have with others written by Alexa Snow and Jane Davitt.

Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. For the most part I really liked it. There were parts that were brilliant and well played out. When Owen had to sub (not THAT way) for one of Sterling's other teachers, the banter and dialogue was fabulous. The buildup of anticipation throughout most of the story was amazing. Then, well then it hit a snag and just... Fizzled out. I kept thinking once they finally got to it "that's it? That's all you're giving me?" but I kept on in hopes that it would get better. Not so much. It was just the same old, same old.
Then we got to 81% and the book just fell flat. It was almost like the "angst" was being forced onto me. It was really poorly executed. I won't go into details because frankly I just don't care.

I REALLY like these authors! This is the second book i've read from them and I can't wait to read more. I really appreciate the attention to detail and character development that this story has. The relationship between the two main characters is a bit slower moving, but it makes sense based on the fact that one is completely new to BSDM and the other is a bit reluctant to guide him. They also have known each other previously - as teacher/student - which means that they have to morph a past relationship into a new one, each with it's own set of rules. Overall, this is a very well written book that I would recommend to anyone who likes an equal amount of story with their sexy times.
