About the author

Sean Stone

Sean is a writer and reader of all kinds of books, but he particularly enjoys books with 413 pages. He lives alone in Maidstone with his cats, Molly and Klaus, in an apartment that does not allow pets. He is also quite sure that one of them is trying to kill him. It’s a good thing he’s immortal.

He works as a lab technician by day and writes rather marvelous books by night. Sometimes he writes in the day too, but those books aren’t as good.

Sean Stone is a serious man.

Sorcerers are born with magic...Warlocks steal theirs...it's common knowledge. And the greatest of those warlocks was Nicholas Blackwood. But...he's been dead for years now...hasn't he? But who was the warlock that created the ring and gave it to the former undead...and now permanently dead...leader of the vampires? And, who is bringing the warlocks together to push back and fight against the growing power of the Alliance of Covens? And one more AND...What does that warlock have to do with Eddie Lancaster who only wants to mourn the loss of his lovely Ashley?

All of those questions...and more... swirl through this, the 5th book in the ARCANE, INC. series by Sean Stone. Amazingly, while this story only clocks in at 297 pages, Stone has packed so much story into those pages that it feels like I just got done reading a marathon of a book...in a GOOD way. For me, Stone's story telling and creativeness as a writer seem to build with each successive book in this series. He is able to bob and weave his way through the battles and travails of his characters with a deftness that is fun to watch.

With the 6th book coming soon...purported to be the last in the series...I can't wait for the next chapter while regretting the soon to be conclusion to the story of Eddie Lancaster. But...who knows? Eddie always seems to find a way to survive.

I am in a position where I really want to talk about this book, but there are so many things I can’t because this book is just full of spoilers. So, forgive me upfront if I’m exceptionally vague. I’ve been a fan of this series since the beginning because even though Eddie can be at times a little bit of a jerk, I can forgive him. In this latest installment, I watched him make decisions that I couldn’t understand, and I was frustrated. Not in a bad way, just in a completely “Why the heck did you do that?!?” way. His reasons were just so out there. Ok, I don’t think I can say much more without actually discussing spoilers. The book was full of great action, memorable characters, and an intense conclusion that had me flabbergasted. I loved this book for many reasons, and I am also kinda sad for reasons I can’t discuss. If you are fan of this series, grab this one and buckle up for a wild ride. Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

OMG!! What can I possibly say about this book without giving away spoilers? This book is the latest in the Cedarstone and Arcane series. Twists and turns and a rollercoaster plot, this book is one of the best things I have read in a while!! I devoured this in one afternoon and didn’t know what to do with myself after. If you’ve read the others in the series, you MUST read this!! If you haven’t read the other books, then you must buy and read them! You will not be disappointed!! Amazing finale Sean Stone!! Thank you!!

I was provided an ARC in return for an honest review. I already own the others so was looking forward to seeing where the story would go. Each book has got progressively stronger and darker and I really admire some of the turns the author took which were very much unexpected. Although this looks like the final book I actually think there could be more to come and I would definitely welcome this! It's hard to give a full review as it really would give away some major spoilers suffice to say I totally recommend this book and all the others that come before! Let's be honest who doesn't like snark!!

Oh Eddie

From the first book, Eddie was this annoying rude d**k and it was just impossible to stop reading about him! He always found a way to insult everyone yet to be a hero in the end.. This story was different, good but felt rushed, felt sad.. I would like more of his charming(haha) persona, would like more of magic. I couldn't put the story down,it was flawless and I wish there was more

No spoilers...

Well what can I say. I have followed this Authors work from the beginning and this was an incredible ending to the series. I also loved the cross over element from his Cederstone series also. This book was a bit grittier than the others while keeping the strong story, characters, and humour that readers expect. I personally thought it would have ended differently, but still a great and fitting ending to the series. Brilliant!

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Hannibal Hills

This one starts with a bombshell! Will the consequences have darker repercussions for Eddie?

Well damn my above question was answered in the most explosive and devastating way.
There’s so much I could say about this book but I don’t want to add any spoilers, so all I will say is READ it or like I did, LISTEN to it but definitely don’t miss it.

Fantastic narration that really brings the characters but especially Eddie to life.

Decent story but a lot of editing errors - punctuation, grammar, just plain wrong words used.

Outstanding urban fantasy...

Dead Warlock (Arcane Inc., Book 5) by Sean Stone and narrated by Hannibal Hills is one I didn’t want to put down or end. I listened straight through and wish wish wish the final book was on audible but it's not yet, so I will quietly await it's release. If you enjoy fantasy with dark and magical undertones, this series is for you. Eddie's story has become one of my favs over the past year, if not my number one.

It’s going to be difficult to write this review without spoilers as a lot happens, so here’s what I have for you: Eddie’s world becomes utter chaos- it’s full of unpredictable, intense, fast-paced action that all leads up to an epic ending. It doesn’t disappoint. The character and plot development are fantastic and get better with each book.

The narrator, Hannibal Hills, did a good job bringing Eddie to life. He nails the tones perfectly. Pace is good. Easy to listen to.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: This is a darker urban fantasy- expect things like death, violence, and not rainbows and unicorns. Language used: Fx41, Sx20
