Sedona Sin by Lisa Kessler
Sedona Pack series #1. Wolf shifter romance. Spin off from the Moon series.
Asher and Naomi were bitten and made wolf shifters under a sadistic leader. With that alpha destroyed, the pack needs someone to step up and lead. Asher is doing the best he can but not being a born wolf. Shifter, feels at a disadvantage. Naomi has the same background as Asher but is confident this he is what the pack needs. Outside threats forces everyone to reassess and make decisions.

The two baby monkeys, aka toddlers and future wolf shifters, steal every scene. They are simply adorable. There is some pack violence so it’s not all cookies and milk. Asher has to overcome his roots and Naomi went rogue for a second but all wraps up exactly as it should.
Love this new wolf pack and can’t wait to read Vance’s story which is next.

Lisa Kessler whisks us back to her shifter world for the first full length novel in her Sedona Pack series, and if Sedona Sin is anything to go by, we’re in for a hell of a ride.

description We were just a group of people who survived psychological tortures and imprisonment at the hands of a tyrant.

If you’re familiar with the Moon Series or have read the bridging novella, The Lone Wolf’s Wish , you’ll be familiar with this group and their backgrounds, but it’s not a requirement more a bonus as Kessler does a fine job of filling you in. A bit of a mixed group with born shifters, those who have been turned against their will, and those who have crossed over from the darker side, the pack are currently meandering along without an alpha which needs to change and rapidly if they’re to survive what’s heading their way.

description I give you my heart, my protection, and my life.”

Aside of the action aspect there’s the romance as alpha-candidate, Asher and single mum, Naomi realise they’re destined to be together and although not quite as passionate as the couples from the Reno pack, they’d were still lovely together as were Naomi’s twin toddler boys who supplied a hefty dose of cute.

description We’re a pack. We’ll face it together—one voice, one family, one pack.”

An all-round enjoyable read setting the cogs turning for some serious series potential, I’m ready and waiting for more.

Copy generously provided by the author for an honest and unbiased opinion.

I requested and was given a copy of this book without obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

I loved reading the fantastic Moon series by this talented author, a series which involved the Reno pack of wolf and jaguar shifters in a suspense filled battle with NERO, a government backed organisation striving to create and control super shifters. However, I don't think you necessarily need to have read the Moon series to enjoy this one - but I highly recommend you do so - I always eagerly awaited every book in the series, thoroughly enjoyed reading them - and listening to them as audiobooks, too. The Sedona Pack was mentioned in that series and I was thrilled to discover they are to have their own series!

The Sedona pack is something of an anomaly as their Alpha had somewhat megalomanic tendencies and was prepared to do just about anything to further his power, including imprisoning and torturing others. That Alpha was overthrown when members of the pack, led by Asher, rebelled. Now they have no Alpha and most of the members have little if any idea of how a pack would normally function.

Two people who were bitten on the orders of the old Alpha, forcing them to become shifters, are Asher and Naomi. They both survived the cruel practices of their Alpha and are now close friends with growing feelings for each other. They discover that there are still jaguar assassins loyal to NERO who are threatening their pack, especially Naomi's twin sons, and a politician who is threatening to expose the shifter world to humans. They're going to have to determine who will lead and protect their pack whilst still reconsidering their developing relationship and making discoveries of other threats that could change the shifter world. . . .

As legends prove true, fated mates meet but all is not well as jaguar assassins threaten and politicians hint at revelations. This is a brilliant start to this new series and has me hooked and wanting to read more already. The characters are well developed and scenarios portrayed so well the reader becomes immersed in this paranormal world with its threats, dangers and heartwarming romance. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am definitely eager to read more in this series as soon as they become available - I can't wait!

Asher and Naomi are two strong characters who only bring more strength to one another. As their little pack of misfit shifters struggles to find itself, it is obvious Asher belongs and is the one that will help them settle and move forward. He has to see it though and his past fraught with feelings of never belonging stand in his way. However, his bond with Naomi opens him up and forces him to take charge. I found this book to have a good flow and keep my interest beginning to end which is something that can be a struggle for me with straightforward shifter books. The characters and the plot were believable and had me raring to pick it back up every time I had to step away!

The engrossing opening salvo in Lisa Kessler’s new Sedona Pack paranormal romance series!

We were just a group of people who survived psychological tortures and imprisonment at the hands of a tyrant.

Sedona Sin is the engrossing opening salvo in Lisa Kessler’s new Sedona Pack paranormal romance series, a spin-off from her popular Moon series. Sedona Sin is the first full-length installment in this shifter world following the previous bridging novella, The Lone Wolf’s Wish. I’ve inhaled them all. That said, it’s not necessary to have read her Moon series and/or the bridging novella to fully enjoy Sedona Sin as Lisa fills in everything you need to know about previous events and characters. This is the story of future alpha Asher Mateo and single mom Naomi Rossi.

As the story opens, the Sedona Pack is a pack without an alpha. Unlike most packs, the Sedona Pack is a diverse mixture of born shifters, those turned against their will and volunteers. The former cruel, authoritarian alpha committed atrocious acts to retain power – including turning humans against their will, imprisoning and torturing members. Thankfully, that alpha has finally been overthrown in a rebellion in which Asher played a key role. Unfortunately, many of the pack members now have no idea how a true pack should function. One thing is clear: If the pack is to survive what is headed their way, they need to pull together and unite under an alpha.

Asher and Naomi were both changed against their will under orders given by the old alpha and have become close friends. Naomi is a single mother with twin sons. Naomi’s twins are being targeted by jaguar assassins loyal to NERO to be used to reveal the shifter world to humans. Asher and Naomi have a lot on their plates coping with their developing feelings, considering who would be best suited to lead their pack, protecting Naomi’s twins and responding to threats. I found it easy to root for them from the first. Being a bitten wolf, not the son of an alpha and lacking the support of the pack elders and some of the born wolves, Asher doubts his ability to become an alpha, but Naomi’s faith in him never waivers. Neither want to accept what their wolves already know – that they are fated mates. They both want their hearts to be onboard too. Naomi’s cute twin toddlers provide comic relief from the building suspense and impending danger.

It was hard to choose, but please find following a few of my favorite lines from Sedona Sin:

“I’m not ready to say goodnight yet.”

“Then don’t.”

I raised a brow. “If I go with you, I might not be able to resist kissing you again.”

“Oh, I’m counting on it.” She grinned. “Get in.”
---
“You know we can still be friends.”

“I’m counting on it. But tonight, I want more than friendship.”
---
“Naomi’s twins were the future. If this Pack was going to live to see it, we needed an Alpha. Staring down at this perfect face, the choice seemed clear: I’d do whatever it took to be sure they were safe. Even if it meant becoming the new Alpha of the Sedona Pack.”

Lisa is one of my favorite authors. Her books never fail to pull me in and Sedona Sin is no exception. Sedona Sin is an enjoyably addictive read demonstrating serious series potential and packing heat, heart, suspense and action. It appears that Vance’s long-awaited story is next and I can’t wait! Go Wolf Pack!

I loved Naomi and Asher together and greatly enjoyed this shifter romance. They were both strong and capable and I liked how they leaned on each other and there wasn't a lot of ego. I also liked all the family and pack dynamics and am excited to see this little misfit pack thrive in future books. I also loved Lisa Kessler's take on werewolves. Her story felt fresh and interesting in that regard.

This is the first book of a new series by this author. I love the way she tells a story. This series offers a different take on werewolves and pack hierarchy. It contains very strong male and female characters and everyone must do their part as they grow into an organized pack to protect each other. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

4.5 stars

This would have been a 5 star read for me but the beginning was a little confusing, and I felt there was information I’d missed. I did see there was a prequel novella, so that could be the issue.
Asher and Naomi were great MC’s. I liked that Asher was the one who had vulnerabilities while Naomi was the badass black belt. As for her two little cuties, I could read about them all day.
Being a shifter story this does have the fated mates trope. However, this is much more than a simple romance. At its heart it’s taking a ragtag group of people and uniting them into a true pack, while fighting against other shifters and potential exposure.

Sedona Sin is a fantastic start to what looks to be a fabulous series. Asher may not have been born a werewolf or an alpha but by god he is now and he will do whatever it takes to protect his pack. Three years as a werewolf hasn’t been long enough to embrace all the changes to his life and now the fates have thrown another change at him but this may just be the best thing yet.
This book is sweet and sexy and thrilling through and through.

The New way

A new pack of shapeshifters is forming in Sedona, but unlike most packs there is birth Alpha to take the lead position to the pack. This pack also includes more than just werewolves. There are also jaguar shifters who were turned by unscrupulous leaders in the past.
When a mother is kidnapped an Alpha must take over to lead the pack in a rescue attempt.
This is a quick moving and suspenseful paranormal story that will keep the reader entertained and involved.

This is a great start to the series. Asher and Naomi have been friends for years. Neither one was born a werewolf, but they are part of the Sedona pack. They don't have the traditional pack. Without an alpha their pack is vulnerable. While dealing pack issues, Asher and Naomi's relationship changes. I'm looking forward to the next book to see what's going on with the pack.

I wasn't into werewolves until I started reading Lisa Kessler's Moon Series. Now that a new pack had emerged, I was excited to dive right back into their world. Welcome to the Sedona Pack Series.

Asher had the desire to unite everyone into a true pack, but the misgivings of his past and the insecurities of being bitten rather than born weighed heavy on his shoulders. It also didn't help that the born wolves weren't too keen on abandoning traditions of born wolves ascending.

Watching Asher overcome the mental obstacles of ascending to Alpha was quite the thrill. When I read the Moon Series, they already had an Alpha, so any respect paid to him was quite normal. In this new town, everyone was scattered and had nowhere to belong. Witnessing Asher grow into the Alpha he was always meant to be was so intense and such a joy to read. Whenever he would exhibit his Alpha qualities to those who dared defy him, I got really excited at the show of dominance. The way they surrendered to him was the best thing! Reading this book in public proved quite the challenge because I couldn't pump my fist and exclaim out loud just how excited I was whenever there was a fight scene.

The first time Naomi showed her fighting skills, I was at the edge of my seat. She was an expert with throwing stars! I'd always loved throwing stars, and for them to be included in this new series was such a treat! She was absolutely deadly with them, and she was a badass fighter. Even though she became emotional at some point, her head was clear enough to recognize what was best for the people she cared most about. I loved that she didn't let her emotions rule her decisions.

There were so many awesome characters in this book, and the twists and turns were incredible. Certain characters that I didn't particularly like in Moon Series proved to be more than they seem in this book. I'm so excited to dive more into this new world!

The story was an interesting and intriguing one. It was a little slow to start but picks up quickly. It is an interesting concept of the born and bitten wolves. The characters personalities are fantastic and felt throughout the story. It was well written and developed. The ending ended as a complete story but also left room for another book. This was my first book by Lisa Kessler and I throughly enjoyed the writing and the story. It is definitely worth read and doesn’t disappoint.

The Wolf Pack is back and I just loved the story that has been delivered! Sedona Sin was the perfect start to this new series, with action, suspense, a bit of heat, and all the heart and feels that Lisa Kessler always delivers.

Asher and Naomi are both just trying to survive in a pack that has no Alpha. Asher and Naomi have become close since the pack rebellion, and Asher knows that the pack needs a leader – especially now that there are young pups to protect - but becoming Alpha isn’t something that just happens.
Naomi’s twins were the future. If this Pack was going to live to see it, we needed an Alpha. Staring down at this perfect face, the choice seemed clear: I’d do whatever it took to be sure they were safe. Even if it meant becoming the new Alpha of the Sedona Pack.

I loved Naomi’s belief in Asher. She knows that he has what it takes to lead the Pack, even if not everyone in the Pack agrees. Being a bitten wolf and not the born son of an Alpha makes Asher doubt his ability to become Alpha, and not having the support of the elders and some of the born wolves doesn’t make things any easier. But Naomi’s faith in him never waivers – even when things go sideways.
“They can only judge us if we let them.” She dropped her hands to her sides. “Don’t let them, Asher.”

One of my favorite things about reading paranormal romance is the different lore that is created for each world. In Lisa Kessler’s world, a skin-to-skin touch between two fated mates is all it takes to let their wolves know that they are meant. But since both Asher and Naomi have been bitten and not born it’s hard for them to get past their human ideals – ensuring that their hearts are also on board with what their wolves already know. I loved watching their love story unfold and, even though things weren’t easy with the threats to the pack, and it was hard, especially for Naomi, to accept so many things about their new world, seeing Asher and Naomi find the other half of themselves in each other was just perfect. And throw in a set of adorable shifter pups and it was hard to not root for these two from the first page.
“I’ve spent my entire life never really fitting in anywhere. That’s part of why I love being outdoors. The Red Rocks don’t care if you’re an orphan. They don’t give a shit about the color of your skin or how pure your bloodline is.” I laced my fingers with hers. “I feel that same sense of peace and acceptance when I’m with you, and that has nothing to do with my wolf or yours. It has everything to do with who you are.”

One of the things I love most about this new series is the diversity in Pack that is developing. Pack isn’t defined by how you were born or what type of shifter you are, Pack is defined as where your heart and loyalties lie. I am so intrigued to find out how all this diversity will move the series arc forward and can’t wait to read more.

I also loved the cameo from the Reno Pack from the author’s Moon Series. This is a spin-off from that series, so having Adam and Luke support Asher as he brings the Sedona Pack together and becomes Alpha added so much to creating a legitimacy and setting a strong foundation for the Sedona Pack.

I am a huge fan of Lisa Kessler and always love everything she writes, but I have to say that I think this may be one of my favorites to date. There is so much potential for future stories as this new threat is explored and getting to know more about the Sedona Pack in Asher and Naomi’s story has me waiting for not only Vance’s story, which looks to be next, but finding out what Lisa has in store for the rest of the pack since they are all so unique.

I can’t recommend this book and author enough to anyone who loves not only paranormal romances, but to anyone who loves a book filled with a ton of heart wrapped around a wonderfully delivered story with suspense, action, and mystery. Go Wolf Pack!

I received an advance reader copy from the author which I voluntarily reviewed.

This book was very good. There is a lot of action and of course passion. It kept my interest right from the get go. This is about Asher, who is a bitten werewolf, not a born werewolf. He is an alpha, but he doesn't think so. Also involved with him is Naomi, who is a graphic designer with a black belt in karate and deadly aim with ninja stars. She gets bitten too. Someone is out to dismantle their so called pack after Asher kills the other alpha, who was a viscious one. The pack wants Asher to be alpha but he doesn't think he has the alpha genes to do it. It gets pretty grissley and viscious at times, but story moves along fine. Recommend.

What do you do when your pack needs and alpha and the old alpha is dead . Asher Mateo's life has been turned upside down . Ever since he was bitten by a member of the Sedona pack and their evil alpha. Since the old alpha was overthrown and the old pack has been stopped . Asher and the rest of the ragtag wolves have been trying to come together . He has done everything in his power to protect Naomi and her twin boys . But they need an alpha and Asher is the man for the job . But can he step up and bring the pack together before Nero comes and kills them all .
I am so happy that there is a new pack and new characters to swoon over . Asher is well he is so very swoon worthy . Tall and sexy and a smile that would melt your heart . There is more to him then just being sexy . He is sweet and lovable, you will either want to climb him like a spider monkey or hug him tight and take care of him. Naomi has been through so much at the hands of the old alpha and she just doesn't trust anyone . She is as tough as nails to keep her boys safe . I really like her, she doesn't take anything from anyone , she is strong and speaks her mind. She is a fierce protector but yet is vulnerable . You guys will love her , she is pretty awesome . The characters are great on their own but together they are a team that can't be beat .
I was so excited when i heard the author was going back to the wolf pack and creating a new series and continuing the story with new characters and a new pack . The characters are so well written and complex. You can really feel for them and you start to care for them . You want them to be happy and get their acts together . The author has created a whole new pack but they still have the old enemy the jaguar assassins from Nero . I love that she kept that aspect. The story has twists and turns that will keep you reading well into the night.I can't wait to read more stories of this pack and see where the author takes us . So if you want a great shifter book check out the SEDONA PACK you will not be disappointed

It’s here! Its finally here! I’m so very glad they’re mostly back – I missed this author’s wolves (and jaguars) so much.

The mountainous beauty of Reno, Nevada has been replaced by the rocky deserts of Sedona, Arizona. But this new pack of wolves still have the courageous, honorable, strong and true hearts we found in the Reno Pack, even if these are the survivors of attacks ordered by the previous Alpha. As well as a few jaguars who have survived the evils of Nero to call this pack home. This new series is their stories as they learn to live with themselves and each other in a world where secrets may no longer be safe.

Asher knows, after meeting the wolves from the Reno Pack, that the ragtag group of born & bitten shifters in Sedona desperately need an Alpha. A leader. Someone to help the Pack solidify themselves and become the family group they all need. He thinks that this Alpha must be a born shifter and more importantly, he believes that even if a bitten shifter could become an Alpha, he is not the man for the job. What Asher doesn’t realize is that being a true Alpha is not a job, it is a calling. And a true Alpha is chosen based on the desires and the destiny of their wolf, no matter how unworthy the man feels.

Naomi’s life was irrevocably changed the night she was bitten and conscripted into the Sedona Pack. Now, after surviving the machinations of an evil Alpha, she is trying to settle into a life as a single mother to twin boys who also happen to be wolf shifters. Trying to create as normal a life as possible for herself, her sons and the others in her Pack. She knows their Pack needs an Alpha and believes it should be Asher. She knows that he carries guilt and shame for his past actions and inactions but she, and others, see him a good man and the one to lead them into a better future.

What neither of them expect, or understand, is that their wolf natures also demand a say in the future. And when a wolf finds its mate, it will never give up or stand down until they are safe together.

I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to review this book and here are my thoughts on it.

Lisa Kessler is an amazing story teller, I got immersed in the story faster than you can say sexy werewolf.

Asher aside being a powerful and sexy werewolf is a dream of a man. He isn't afraid to ask for help, he is quick of mind but most importantly he's loving and caring. He takes into consideration Naomi's opinions and feelings and he can take others opinions too.

Naomi is anything but a damsel in distress, she a force to be reckoned with, no one messes with a mama bear... well wolf on this case. She knows how to fight she is strong willed but ain't afraid to lean on Asher when thing get away over her head.

Together they are quite the pair.

The story is amazing I read the whole book on one sitting, my only regret is that it wasn't longer LOL, I could have spend easily a week reading more. There's action, romance, friendship, suspense and so much more that I can't wait for the next book on this series.

There's a saying in my country "if you love the cow you love the calf" it basically means that if a man is truly in love with a woman and she has children, he loves her children as his own. I cannot describe how Asher and the twins relationship affected me. It felt so real, so beautiful. I think it made me fall even harder for him. God I wish I could tell you guys more but I would have to spoil the hell out of this book and I wouldn't ruin it for you no matter what.

Just know this, pick this book up as soon as you can you won't regret it and I'll deeply appreciate it cause I would have someone to talk about it LOL.

I'm a sucker for werewolves, any shifters really and I fell in love with Lisa's way back when I started reading Paranormal Romance. She is the only author that still holds my interest no matter what kind of book she puts out there.

This new series is off to an excellent start which isn’t all that surprising considering who the author is. Asher and Naomi are two strong, vibrant characters that easily draw readers into their story as they try to keep everyone alive and struggle with the attraction that sizzles with lots of heated chemistry. The relationship is one that the characters aren’t sure they want to pursue due to their friendship and the events of the past which has lots of turbulent emotions flowing from the pages but it sweet and inspiring as they try to come to terms with all the changes in their life. On top of the relationship issues this story is about one wolf’s rise to Alpha status, a status that he doesn’t think he’s good enough for, or ready for but one that he desperately needs to make happen if he is to pull the pack together and keep them safe from their enemies.

The plot is fast paced and full of thrilling suspense, adrenaline pumping danger and surprising twist which keeps readers glued to the pages. The story has several obstacles and adverse elements to be overcome, one being the threat of the shifter world being exposed to the humans, jaguar enemies trying to eliminate and/or capture the Sedona pack, the need of an alpha for the pack and the friction between born and bitten making things difficult for this group of shifters. This new direction in Lisa Kessler’s shifter world is exciting and promises lots of deliciously intriguing future stories as well as continuing her creative and fascinating world of wonderful characters and thrilling suspense that readers can’t help but become enthralled by.

This is the start for a new offshoot series from the Reno pack. Asher and Naomi were both bitten and taken into the Sedona pack, but after an uprising of the members they are now leaderless and just trying to survive. Asher doesn't believe he has what it takes to be the leader but with the pack floundering and Naomi's twins in danger, he steps up and tries to be the leader that they all need. All while figuring out his true place in this new world and realizing that Naomi is his mate.

I loved this book! Naomi and Asher are both extremely strong individuals who have been through a lot but still manage to keep going. They both had to adjust to their lives changing in ways they never expected and now with the pack needing a leader, their lives are changing even more. But they also realize what true family is and it's not always about blood. Most of the wolves were turned without giving permission and are now having to figure their way out as they go along. Having an alpha who went through the same thing just makes it easier (in my opinion) for those people to be able to move on and adjust. And to know that these people will have your back? It's an awesome thing. I love how Naomi and Asher's story plays out and how they seem to always accept each other. Even when they may not accept themselves. It's a beautiful thing!

Sedona Sin by Lisa Kessler is the first full length novel in this shifter world. This novel has so much going for it, especially the characters. They are a ragtag group that have survived a villainous Alpha but now find themselves at a loss. This is their new beginning, choosing their new Alpha, and making the right choice. What is awesome is that they come out stronger than ever but different from the traditional pack.
One thing I really appreciated is the while there is the fated mate element, Asher and Naomi have a friendship built on mutual respect and companionship first. It is a natural progression in the relationship. I also liked the dual POV. Even with that style, the story just flows so smoothly.
Danger abounds making this a strong action story but also one of character development too. While there are many characters who are part of the new pack or mentioned from other packs, it did not seem overwhelming. Nor is it so complicated that it is hard to keep everyone straight in your mind. Also never is the story boring or slow or repetitive. Simply a perfect read after a busy day; attention holding but not mind tiring. There’s a new pack in town, an amazing one!
The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am so happy that the Sedona Pack has its own series! We got a glimpse of them during the Moon Series (if you haven't read about the Reno pack I highly suggest you do!) and it's great to be able to read their stories.

Asher is a bitten, not born, wolf and feels like he does not belong - pretty much how he has felt his whole life.
Naomi is a bitten, not by choice, wolf with adorable twin boys who are born wolves.

They both survived NERO and the cruel imprisonment and torture dealt by their 'Alpha'. With his demise they face bringing the Sedona Pack together and finding an Alpha to lead them, as well as their growing feelings for each other. Jaguar assassins still loyal to NERO are still out there and government experimentation/politics are threatening to expose the secret of wolf shifters and possibly the entire shifter community! It will be up to this pack, if they can come together, to face this new threat and keep their world safe.

I am so excited to read the rest of this series...each book is going to keep me anxious and on my toes and I can't wait!!

This book is the first book in a new series by this highly talented writer. I do admit that romance isn’t in my top three favorite genres…or I should say romance by itself. However, this author is so entertaining that I will read just about anything she writes. This book is just like all of her other books, filled with excellent writing, intriguing characters, and a touching romance with a suspense-filled plot thrown in. I loved the characters Asher and Naomi, and their path to true love. I am also eager to see what is in store for the other characters who were just as great, and how they are going to deal with the threat to their lives and pack. If you love paranormal romance, you can’t go wrong with this book, or really any book by this author. I highly recommend this book! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I am so glad this author went in this direction again and brought us another wolf pack series. She knows how to breathe life into her characters with them becoming so real you forget that this is fiction at times when reading. In this one she gives us Asher whom we will see him find his way but alpha he is. You can see it but I could see he has to come into his own skin so to speak. Anyways there is also Naomi whom you immediately cling to so you do not miss a moment of her story. Talk about interesting she certainly is. Their lives though are filled with challenges and danger with us getting pulled into it and holding our breath at times. I howled with delight with this one devouring it from beginning to end pacing for the next one.

Sedona Sin is an absolutely divine read!!! Asher is a reluctant Alpha and Naomi is a reluctant mate, but when they touch sparks fly. The jaguars are threatening the Sedona pack and Asher has to step up to the plate. With Naomi's encouragement, and the love growing through the friendship they have, Asher agrees to lead the pack. The fight continues with the former members of NERO, but the Sedona Pack is beginning to pull together and stand on their own. Lisa Kessler creates a world where the characters become friends and family. You want to move there and become emeshed in their lives fully. Can't wait for the next installment!!!!
