Book 3 in the bestselling Winter Solstice series!

Back home from Russia, Solstice Winters confronts a scarier problem than a lizard the size of a garbage truck: immortality.

She won’t exactly live forever, but ten thousand years isn’t much different. In the blink of an eye to her, everyone she loves will be gone. Being the only elf in the world is a lonely future, but at least she has her cat to talk to.

Good thing he talks back.

Solstice doesn’t have too long to mourn as someone thoughtfully sends a magical assassin to take her mind off the family she’ll eventually lose. She’s fairly certain the Ordo Sanguinem Aeternam didn’t summon it since they’re far too inept for elder magic. Before she can figure out where it came from, her friend Jade asks for help investigating a stolen mummy.

Upon discovering the mummy stole itself, she realizes New York is about to have a serious problem of the ancient kind if she doesn’t deal with it fast… and someone powerful still wants her dead.

Between an out-of-control mummy and a magical assassin, outliving her family is the least of Solstice’s worries.

I really enjoy this series. I think the characters are interesting and funny as they find their way in a world that has changed radically. Sol and Mr. Moody are a great team, and Sol is selfless as she helps others while wrestling with the dilemma that immortality poses. This author team packs a one,two punch when it comes to writing skill and storytelling. I hope this series continues as I look forward to reading more.

I enjoyed this story so much that I read all three of the series (so far) back-to-back on Kindle Unlimited. It's about a magical reawakening of the Earth (which was hurried along ahead of the normal every thousand-years-or-so schedule by technology.) The magic revealed that the heroine (Winter) is actually an elf, and the first book has a lot of other creatures that have crossed over from other dimensions. The characters are all likable, there's a sprinkle of light-hearted humor, and enough mystery and action to keep the reader on her toes. I highly recommend this series.

This one takes place back in NYC and interweaves several smaller mysteries while getting the heroine ready to level up.

This series must be read in order. The first book is "Convergence". The second book is "Containment". This is the third book. I can't wait to read "Catastrophe"!Containment

The world is getting used to the fact that Solstice is an Elf and she loves here. There really is only one of her here. Solstice is just finally getting over being kidnapped and the fact that she is an Elf as well. Why did her birth parents send her out of the Echo to Earth? Are they even still alive? What will it take for the OSA to forget their plans for her? Can she ever convince them her blood will not make them immortal? What is Rasputin up to now? Is her paternity a front business? Or is it a legitimate paper? Does her work mean anything? How is she going to handle everyone she loves growing old and dying? What supernatural nasty is gonna crawl out of the woodwork next?

Very good

This is definitely worth reading. The series is excellent entertainment. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book written by the duo of Rain and Cox. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series. Read this, it is great reading for relaxing fun.

The ideas in this book are ok as are the ones in previous volumes. I must admit to being slightly irritated at the mistake with one of the characters’ surname. A woman would never be Orlov. She would be Orlova.
