Half the time I didn't even know I was reading I was so caught up in :08 Seconds! This is an engaging story of a high school student with her whole life ahead of her. Sophie James graduates, dumps her abusive boyfriend, and is anticipating college in the fall. Until she meets bull rider Trey Snyder.
Sophie experiences that one moment in time that changes her life. Her summer flies by, with days spent with Trey and nights spent dreaming of him. Then it hits her. If they continue dating one of them won't get to chase their dreams. Will she be unable to go off to college? Will he be unable to compete in the bull riding circuit? She does the only thing she can. She breaks it off and goes off to college. Her heart is broken but this is for the best. Until a class assignment brings Trey front and center. She must convince him to do the interview. But when she wakes up after her ex-boyfriend beats her, will Trey be there? Will she even remember who he is?

A beautiful love story about two dreamers with the sweetest hearts. Sophie and Trey will stay with me for a long time. I can't wait to see what Maddie White does next!

Maddie White's debut young adult novel should be on every reader's radar. With a compelling love story that forces readers to reflect on the true nature of attraction and desire, White provides readers with fully fleshed out characters who all have the ability to draw one deeply into their swirling set of personal circumstances. You will love this book!

I read :08 SECONDS in one sitting! Maddie White excels at writing conversation that effectively drives this fast-paced story. It explores the dilemma of a young woman finding herself in a dangerous relationship: how will she protect herself and others she loves? How can she trust anyone else again?
