Fear.
The one thing that controlled my life.
The reason I stayed.
But ultimately the reason I left.
Tragedy and emptiness marred my existence.
A fresh start was all I was after.
Instead, I found things I never expected.
Love. Happiness. A reason.
I found him.

Now we have to fight together.
Or I’ll lose her.

Garrett and Sadie

I absolutely adored this story! I love a book that has a great family as secondary character. Or friends that become like family. It makes me want to be part of their group

HERO Garrett was a great hero. He was patient and loving. He was also sexy and alpha. He didn’t push Sadie even though he wanted so much more from her. He was her rock when she needed one the most

HEROINE Sadie had been through hell. On the run from her abusive husband, she found herself in Nashville. She hadn’t expected to meet someone like Garrett and her guard was up. But all the love and support she got from him and his friends/family, helped her to start to heal

OW DRAMA zero ow drama

OM DRAMA her ex caught up to her and cause some drama

STEAM moderate steam. I wouldn’t say it was super steamy at all which I was disappointed in

SEPARATION there was no real separation. There was a week here and there when she was keeping him at arms length but no major time gaps

SECONDARY CHARACTERS loved the secondary characters. Great family and friends

VIOLENCE no violence of a sexual nature but heroine was assaulted by her ex

SAFETY even though she was married when she first started seeing Garrett, the fact that her husband was horribly abusive negated her being married for me.

ENDING epilogue only 9 months later. I wanted so much more. This is what actually brought my rating down the most

4 Stars!

That blurb is what caught my eye when I picked this book to read... and I'm so glad I took a chance. Heather Lyn outdid herself with this book, delivering a romance that well tug at your heart, give you all the feels, and leave you with an unstoppable smile on your face by the time the pages stop urning.

Don't Say Goodbye was an edge of your seat, can't get enough romance that I found myself racing though the pages. Garrett and Nacole lit up from my kindle the moment they both stepped onto the pages (talk about choking up from the start!) and y'all... their journey was complicated, riddled with secrets and twists, and enough undeniable heart and unforgettable heat... and I didn't put their story down, not even for one moment.

I'll totally be going back to check out book one in this series as well as this author's backlist.

This is definitely a book I can recommend.

Sadie is in a loveless and abusive marriage. Her husband wasn't always that way, but he changed shortly after they married and only got worse. After suffering numerous injuries, knowing he was cheating, being belittled, and the death of her mom, Sadie knows she needs to save herself. Though she'd rather have her mom, she uses the money she was left to make a fresh start...and Sadie picks a place randomly and embarks on a new journey, taking on her middle name - and her mom's first - Nacole. She's slowly moving forward, though she's understandably scared and struggling.

Garret, a police officer, is instantly intrigued by his younger brother's new waitress, and knows she feels it to when their eyes meet, though she's skittish. As time goes on, their lives merge on a different level, that of a friendship. Both want more, but one is scared and the other is letting her control where they go. Their time together only strengthens the connection growing between them, changing the feelings into more, but, as a cop, Garret knows something is off.

When he inadvertently discovers Nacole, err Sadie's, secret, he's hurt, feeling betrayed by her lies, not giving her a chance to explain herself. However, Sadie is showing her true self, the woman she let her soon-to-be-ex force into hiding and doesn't give Garret a choice. She needs him to listen, and while she hopes it changes his mind, she also believes he deserves someone that isn't broken.

Garret realizes his mistake immediately, hating how he reacted, though he's still upset she lied, he understands her motives for doing so. Continuing to build their relationship, now with a new foundation of absolute truth, things progress quickly, both knowing they've found their one yet the past is still holding Sadie back. And then the past and present collide, almost causing Sadie her life.

Can Garret save her in time? Will he lose Sadie just as they've worked everything out? Will Sadie's estranged husband do what he's always threatened to? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people cross paths and discover fate led them to each other, knowing they weren't whole separately.

This was a new to me author who took me to many levels right away. Her Prologue will get you going with emotions churning, anger spewing and mouth left open. Nacole has you wrapped around her finger through this one from start to finish. So glad though the direction it goes in after that explosive taste. When she does cross paths with Garrett your curiosity will come running to the front seeing how long it will take him to even really get to talk to her. This is one that I speed through thanks to the writing and the characters. It will also give you emotional overload and then some. The wind up on this one will get your blood running plus anxiety but the last few pages will be sweet to taste.

I've come to find that each author has specific areas in which the excel in their writing. Some authors are able to write a story so emotional that you are in tears from beginning to end. Some authors do better writing books that have you laughing throughout the story. Some authors write a story so full of drama and mystery, that you just can't put down the book. Occasionally, you will find a book that hits all of the points that make a perfect romance. Don't Say Goodbye is that book. It has everything I look for in a story.

Garrett Walker is a police officer. He seems to be a pretty straight forward guy. Friendly, family guy. He's happy with his life. Until he meets Nacole. There is an instant connection between them, and he just can't get her off his mind. Nacole has a brutal past, that she is trying to get away from. No one knows about that past, and she isn't sure she wants anyone to know about it.
Disappointment after disappointment has led her to a new city where she knows no one, trying to find herself. She recognizes the connection with Garrett. She just doesn't know if she can get over her past and move forward.

This book......my emotions were everywhere with this book. I cried. My heart hurt for Nacole. I laughed until I cried some more. (Those Walker boys are hilarious!) I can't even express how much I loved this book. The author had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. And let's not forget how HOT the connection between Garrett and Nacole was! Oh boy! Did I forget to mention he is a super sexy COP! Yup. This book is a must read for anyone that loves romance, suspense, and a great story!

Amazing story from the first page. This story is about finding yourself, your strength and the love of your life. Finally letting the walls down. For Sadie this is so very true. She finds love life and happiness for the first time. A supportive group of friends that become family now in Tennessee. Living thru abuse and her mother's death with no loving support she finds her strength. Garrett Walker is living his life in his terms. A police officer loving his job not looking for love anytime soon. He walks into his brother's bar and meets Nacole aka Sadie. These two are hiding from life in different ways. These two have this incredible chemistry from moment one. Can these two impossible people make it possible to be together. Read their journey that Heather Lyn has given us. Many obstacles of the heart and their heads thru the gambit of emotions a slow process. Can Sadie and Garrett get their HEA? Read their story a Fall in love with them too.

What is a hero? Someone who saves your life, shows great courage, and comforts you when you are scared.

Nacole met Garret when she needed him the most but wasn’t sure if she could trust her heart to love again. But was she ever really in love before? Probably not. She had been swept off her feet by an abusive and devious man who ruled her life for seven years. That was not love; that was torture. She was meant to meet Garret when she moved to Nashville and it was love at first sight for both of them. Starting over was the first step towards her new life and for the first time Nacole was happy and had something to look forward to. Her feelings of hopelessness were in the past and she was determined to start each day with a smile on her face.

Garret is a brave and dedicated police officer who is proud to keep his community safe. He is close to his family, loves country music and is waiting for the right woman to come along. He never thought he would find her working at his brother Brody’s bar. But there she was with her cute smile, petite body and big eyes. He was so taken with her beauty that he lost his breath and couldn’t speak. She was the one for him and he was determined to get to know her and win her love. She seemed a little shy and nervous so he decided that taking his time with her was the best plan.

“Don’t Say Goodbye” is another five star worthy book by Heather Lyn. Garret made sure that Nacole knew he wasn’t going anywhere and that he would always be there for her. She found her savior in Garret and all of her bad dreams went away. I highly recommend all of Heather’s books to anyone that wants to read stories that will be with them always. She is an exceptional writer whose thoughts and words come from the heart to give us romance, pure emotion and intense feelings which center on characters we can all relate to.

Heather Lyn is a new to me author, and I'm completely in LOVE after Don't Say Goodbye! Sadie Nacole Ward has left her old life behind to start over, when she finds herself working at a sports bar. Her past is one that she's keeping a secret, because she doesn't trust anyone, not to mention she's terrified. Garret Walker is a cop, who has always focused on his career, and never found time for a woman, until he sets eyes on Nacole, working at his brother's bar. Now he can't stop thinking about the closed off woman, and he's determined to get to know her. This story started with a bang, and frankly, my heart never stopped pounding. Obviously, when a woman is running from her past, I'm going to stay on the edge of my seat, because I'm waiting for that other shoe to drop, so twists are coming, but I don't know the when or how of it. So the f-bombs started dropping because I didn't quite see them coming like they did at all, as the amazing Heather Lyn only revealed teeny tiny bit by bit throughout, so you know, it's not clear cut. And of course, since Nacole had secrets, you never know how they will be revealed or the reactions to them, so between my heart pounding, emotions in my throat from the pain I felt radiating off of her, and then some reactions that pissed me off, yeah, I was a straight up hot mess. Now I've touched upon some big things, let me fill in few more things, the secondaries rocked & added more depth, while the sexy times lit the sheets on fire, but don't think they came like a whole insta love situation! So yeah, I LOVED every minute of this story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

From Hell to, well almost Heaven.

She has lived there for the last seven years until she managed to escape.

Told in my favourite dual POV, this is Nacole’s journey towards finally living out from under the shroud of fear. She also recalls memories of her abusive past in a series of incidents that happened before she left, and when she was finally given the tools and the impetus to leave, there was no looking back. Her first choice is the town of Nashville, and she winds up getting her first job in none other than Walker’s Taphouse.

Wow, those Walker brothers!! When you’ve checked out the gorgeous cover, knowing that Ms Lyn says that the man on the front embodies Garrett Walker, that’s the vision that you carry with you as you read the book! He’s all hot-cop, alpha male, and the most caring and thoughtful man that ever walked this earth! Almost heavenly!

When he sees Nacole working in his brother’s pub, he is immediately entranced, but Nacole, even though she can’t deny that he is a gorgeous man, no longer trusts her judgement, staying well clear. For a little while at least.

Having never been in Nacole’s position of abuse, I was a little surprised that she recovered the sassy version of herself quite so quickly after the seven years of abuse that she had suffered. But, that aside, because this is romantic fiction after all, I loved her strength, and boy, did she fight to the end.

Whenever I get to the end of Ms Lyn’s books, I always have a sense of complete gratification that all is well in my world, and I’m not shy in saying that’s what I need to see. I also very much enjoyed seeing the crowd from previous books. 4.5 Stars.

"Every day we talked, and I fell in love with you. I knew there was a chance that you and I would be nothing, but I didn't care. I needed you in my life, Sadie. I needed you. And I still do. I'm not even half the man I want to be without you."

OMG I love me some Garrett Walker!! A sexy boy in blue. Muscles. Thoughtful and patient. Protective. What more could a girl want?

Nacole Ward just wants a new start. Freedom- from him and from the daily fear that plagued her life. All she was looking for was some peace - finally. What she found was so much more - friends, family, and..... Garrett. He's the equivalent of every book boyfriend she's ever read about. But, will the secrets she's keeping ruin her chances of happily ever after? When her past tracks her down, will she survive long enough to find out?

Garrett Walker lives for his job. A career police officer, his goal is to advance to the top. He's lived and breathed this path for a long time, never stopping for love or romance. Until now. From first sight, he knew she was the one. But, when the secrets and lies she's held are revealed, can he ever forgive her? When her past tracks her down, threatening to take her from him, will he ever get the chance?

Don't get me wrong, I loved Brody Walker in book 1, but Garrett? Garrett is mine now, so y'all need to just back off! Oh, and that big gesture Garrett makes at the end? Have the tissues handy. Dead. I'm dead. Love this series and can't wait for Jace's story next!!

I knew where Don't Say Goodbye was going, but I cried when I got there anyway. This book is a marvelous story of an abused wife trying to piece her life back together. Reader beware, because this book is all about domestic violence.

Nacole flees her abusive ex and heads to Nashville to start a new life. When she begins waitressing at a local sports bar, she never expects to fall in love with her boss' brother. But Garret is so sweet and gentle and patient with Nacole every step of the way, and I really could see how he was breaking down her walls. And for his part, Garret was married to the police force until the mysterious newcomer captured his attention like no other woman ever had.

I did have one shake-my-head moment amidst this story: I wanted to smack Garret, though, for flipping out over the use of Nacole's middle name. So many people go by their middle names, so I didn't see any reason for him to fly off the handle that way. I know that some shocking discovery about her past needed to happen in order to propel Garret and Nacole/Sadie to the next phase of their relationship, but I shook my head a bit at his reaction to her name.

Regardless, this was a wonderful story of survival, strength, endurance and true, unconditional love. You will need tissues! This was the first book I've read by Heather Lyn, and now I need to go read Taphouse Blues #1 to learn more about Brody and Lindsey! OMG, and that epilogue had me sobbing!!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This beautiful woman let me read this book and boy did I love it!!!

When she asked if I wanted to read it I was like OMG YES I DO!!

Heather and her words.... so bloody beautiful.

Garret ♡ when he was in Brody's book I was like I love this guy. Can't wait to read his book and what a great book it was. He was funny, sweet, wasnt afraid to show his emotions and so damn swoony.

Nacole ♡ god that poor girl. What she went through and what she lost I just felt so damn sorry for her and wanted to give her a big hug. Then she meets Garret and things start to go better for her.

Having the appearance of the HOF gang was amazing. I always laugh when the gang are together.

That one scene hahahaha... PINEAPPLE. I wont ever look at a Pineapple again and not chuckle lol.

Yet again my boo has brought out another amazing read and had me having all the feels.

Well done sweets. Your books just get better and better xx

Don’t Say Goodbye is a story that will captivate you, it will pull at your heartstrings and it will be an inspiration to all those who have been in this situation. Nacole is a woman that is at the lowest point and is trying to fight free of the fear that is holding her back. A strong, good looking cop with a huge heart was not what she was hoping to find but when he becomes the one person she needs, it might just be time to claim her life back. Garret was always a man focused on his career but one look from the brown eyed beauty has his pulse racing and his heart falling under her spell. Their story is emotional and at times heartbreaking but the journey that you will be taken on, will be worth every moment of torment. Garret is a character that will own your heart and have you swooning as this man shows just what real love should be like. If you like a romance that will capture your heart and soul and will heat you from the top of your head to the tip of your toes, then Don’t Say Goodbye is a must read for you.

Book 2 in The Taphouse Blues Series and Heather Lyn gave us another amazing story of the Walker brothers where we finally find out more on the elusive Garret Walker.

Garret was the true fairytale alpha boyfriend so gentle and loving if only we could bring him to life his loyalty and live for his family shines through in each interaction and I loved catching up with the rest of the characters from Heathers previous books it always makes me smile when we still get a lintel insight into couples after there story had finished.

Sadie was a fabulous character,I loved and admired her strength throughout the story, once her fight kicked in she grew with each chapter and came out a completely renewed person that gave her the belief in herself to move on.

Another amazing 5 star read from one of my favourite authors I’m always excited to pick up any new releases and never have to worry about disappointment her characters and stories always take me on a journey into a fabulous world we would all love to be a part of.

Heather Lyn has written an emotional sweet read that really explores some sensitive topics. The author has written these topics in a sensitive manner that really spread light on some issues. I really enjoyed the way that storyline of this story and the depth of emotions that the author explored throughout the story.

Sadie was a strong heroine that overcome a lot of hurt in the story. I found her strength to be admirable and i really loved the way the author showed the strength of this character. I found that sadie grew a lot throughout the story.

Now Garrett was an incredible swoon worthy character that I absolutely loved because of the way that he was protective of Sadie and the way that he took care of her. I love the way that he took it slow with her knowing that she was scared to rush into anything.

I loved this story from the first chapter and once i started reading it i could not put it down. This was an amazing read with a lot of heart within the story. This is must read for romance readers.

Omg fluffing amazing! I’ve waited very patiently for book 2 in the Taphouse Blues series and when I finally started reading it, I didn’t want it to end!

When Nacole Ward left her violent husband after years of hell, the last thing she wanted was to meet someone new but that all changed when she bumped into the gorgeous Garret Walker..... *swoons*

Nacole and Garret have a rocky start but love soon begins to blossom with the two and I couldn’t wait for them to both start a journey together. Nacole and Garret are perfect together and I loved how patient he was with her.

Heather Lyn is one of my all time favourite authors and I have read everything she has written. Her writing style is amazing and the stories are so beautifully written and you can tell she has put everything she has into her books! She is definitely my “one click without question “ author and I cannot wait for more books in the series.

For the last seven years Nacole’s life has been a nightmare but she has finally escaped the situation and is looking for a new beginning in Nashville. She keeps her secrets close and is not quick to trust but while working at the Taphouse she meets the owner’s brother Garret and he makes her feel safe.

Garrett is a police officer who has an innate need to protect and help others. He is immediately drawn to Nacole and wants to know everything about, but he is patient and is willing to give her the time to trust him and accept that his feelings for her are real.

These two are perfect for each other. Garrett shows her by word and deed that they are meant to be and helps her heal from her past and once she opens her heart up to Garrett she is all in. Full of emotion and chemistry not only are the main characters great but the secondary characters as well. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I need to get my emotions in check to write this review! Heathers stories just gets better and better and this one is just AMAZING!!

I fell in love with this book from the minute I started reading. From the first page it had completely sucked me into the story and I didn’t want to stop reading, but silly life got in my way...

These characters...WOW Garret is just swoon worthy and they way he protects Sadie is just simply heartwarming. This story had me with tears in my eyes on more than one occasion....my heart literally broke at times for what Sadie had been dealt in life.

Heather has again produced a story that you know will stay in your heart for a long time. I can’t begin to say how much this story touched me and how much I loved it. Amazing 5 ⭐️ read and one I think everyone needs to read. Well done Heather on another amazing book.

Edge of your seat suspense and full of swoon....
Nacole is one of the toughest most courageous heroines I’ve read. The hand she was dealt was life altering . It’s full of emotions and heartbreak. Abuse of any kind is awful.... This deals with some heavy issues. But it’s written beautifully and Garrett is way more than just a hot cop..... He’s this amazing, loving, protective, and 100% alpha male.... The connection is immediate even though she fights it.... Garrett is determined to make her his.... Their road isn’t easy, but it’s beautiful seeing them overcome every roadblock, every bad memory, all the emotional scars.... She completes him in every way , and he helps heal all her broken pieces .....

Where do I begin.. This book had me feeling anger, sadness and happiness

Nacole thought she had the perfect home life and then realized it was nothing like her life she be. She needs a change and new start so she leaves California and heads to Nashville. Garrett has been a cop for years and is looking to becoming a detective he knows this life is not ideal for a relationship so he never has one. When Garrett and Nacole meet there is instant chemistry but her life has her backing off.. Watching their friendship develop and then more is amazing.. Garrett is the perfect man but is he really? When Nacole's past comes back to haunt her will Garret stand by her side or will he walk away?

Boy these Walker Brothers know how to love. Sadie was ready for a new start in life after leaving her abusive husband. Starting over in a new place with a new look on life. The hardest part for her is not having her Mom to lean on. A night at the Taphouse Bar where she works is where her and Garret first see each other. The sparks are there but she isnt ready for a relationship but Garret is ok with that for now. These two have a chemistry like no other when Garret shows her that there is more to the life she had lead, Sadie starts to open up . They deserve a Happy Ever After and the Author gives us just that. So worth the read.

This book is a 4.5 ⭐️ read! Sadie/Nacole was strong, sassy & just the sweetest girl next door. I loved her sassy mouth so much. Her comments & lip she dishes out to Garret were just hilarious. Garret is a sweet, yet sexy caveman that everyone wants to be their hea. The pain & hurt Sadie deals with is heartbreaking, but makes her into the person we love. I didn’t feel the anguish I had expected, but that doesn’t take away from the story. It could have made it more of a heart wrenching storyline than I felt it was, but still so good. Another great book by this author! I recommend this book.

Told in dual POV.

Heather truly out did herself with this one.
Sadie Ward is my new hero and is my very favorite female charterer. Thank G-d Heather put a warning at the very beginning. Not gonna lie, some of this story was rough, But Heather was able to make me see Sadie on the other side of the situation. Sadie is one very strong woman. Graham may have broken her, but at the end of the day she's the one who told him to screw off.
And Garrett? What is it about Heather's cops and fire fighters. #officerhotashell is mmy hashtag for Garrett. Sadie said he's the perfect book boyfriend

Sadie Nacole & Garret are such a sweet couple. I loved their story!! Sadie is so strong & brave & kicks butt, and Garret's heart is so big! He has a little misstep in the middle & I wanted to shake both of them for a chapter, but they figure things out pretty quickly. There are some tears & tough times, but there are more great LOL and swoony moments. ("PINEAPPLE! My safe word is pineapple!" Cracked. Me. Up.)

The pacing, the characters, the steamy times, the drama - it all worked together to pull off a fantastic read! Thumbs up!! : )

Sadie, living in a nightmare marriage for the last 7 years, leaves her abusive husband for a better life after her mother dies suddenly . Moving from California to Nashville she gets a job at the Tap House bar and grill. There, she befriends Brody and Lindsey Walker, and meets the handsome Garret, Brody's brother. Not telling you anymore, you will need to read it yourself. You wont be sorry, this is another great book by Heather Lyn.

Book two in a great series. I was a big Brody fan so I was looking forward to how his big brother Garret would measure up. And he did. A new book boyfriend for my collection lol.
But seriously, this book hits you in the feels hard from chapter one. Sadie is a survivor. Watching her grow throughout the book is inspiring.
Watching Sadie and Garret find their way together is perfection. Loved it, tears and all.

Nicole is ready to start her life over, getting away from her abusive husband of 7 years was just that a brand new start, but meeting Garrett wasn't part of her plan but plans are made to be broken. Garrett loves his job as a policeman protecting and helping those in need. Garrett knew the minute he met Nicole that she was something special but getting her to trust him would take work, but when her truth is revealed its him who may not be able to trust. I loved it. Was hooked from page one.

This is a definite must read for anyone who believes in true love, strong women and men who will go through anyone and anything for the ones they love! Heather Lyn is a must read author and I've loved every book of hers that I've read! Garrett and Sadie don't have an easy road to their HEA, they experience some bumps and bruises, highs and lows but in the end their love for each other is all that matters! I'm loving this series and looking forward to the next book!!
