I picked up this book when I was on holiday and I had run out of my summer reading. I'm a ballet fan so the cover appealed!
The style isn't my normal choice, obviously more modern due to being set in the today. However I did enjoy it.
There were a few errors due to editing but that's the case in all books.
It follows the journey of Elaine, her dream to be a dancer and her close, almost obsessive friendship with Beverly, a wealthy, beautiful girl who seems to have everything from talent, money and looks.
Elaine is an intriguing character who was believable in her motives and wants. It is a cutthroat industry and only by being the best and trying to turn yourself into someone else can you succeed.
And...there's also the draw towards her friends handsome father.
All in all it is rather well written and I think a few dancers would relate to the trials and tribulations. Quite predictable but an easy read and one I would recommend.
