A dark curse. A secret in the woods. A twisted tale of revenge.
When revenge is served by an angry witch, you'd better run!
Tempest Crypt embarks on a new murder mystery when Izzie, a member of her team at Cloven Hoof, becomes a suspect in the murder of Serath Duckle, a former boyfriend.
The angels are following red herrings and lousy lines of inquiry, before turning their attention to the pastel-colored loving Puddles Lavern after her nephew, Dewey, is also killed.
Although Tempest can't believe Puddles is capable of murder, she's determined that Izzie won't be blamed for these strange deaths, deaths that involve shallow graves in the forest and a powerful curse.
Tempest's on-again off-again boyfriend, Rhett Blackthorn, gets involved when a member of his gang is taken in for questioning. Rhett begs for Tempest's help to prove his gang member's innocence, but she's reluctant. Whenever Tempest spends too much time with Rhett, old feelings emerge, and she can't risk her heart on this moody fallen angel.
Then Rhett goes missing, followed by Axel Shadowsoul. Tempest begins to panic. Where are they? Could they be the curse killer’s next victims?
Time is not on her side, and Tempest must find her friends before it's too late.
With Wiggles misbehaving, Frank, her ever-present unhelpful demon causing trouble, and her sister, Aurora falling for an ancient warlock with a dodgy past, Tempest is torn between whom to help.
It's time for Tempest to choose between friendship and love. Which way will she turn, and will she live to regret it?
Join Tempest, Wiggles and the cast of fun characters in the third book of the Crypt Witch cozy paranormal mystery series. Enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of mystery pie as you figure out who's behind the murders.

A good plot and I must admit that I didn't guess the culprit. Great to see the characters grow and evolve. When three young man come into her bar and cause problems she has no option but to bar them. Next day one is missing and his body is found later. He has been killed by a black magic curse. The leader of Angel Force is adamant she is right when she arrests a member of Rhett's gang. However she has doubts and starts looking further into it. Plus her sister has now introduced her to her new man and she is not impressed. Plus another young man goes missing as does Rhett. When the young man's body is found - killed by the same means she is worried for Rhett. Especially as now Alex to has vanished! Can she find them before it's too late? Will the killer now be found? Demons, he'll hounds and dryaids are mixed into this great little read.
Tempest Crypt and her family have an unusual job. Keeping demons from escaping a prison under a cemetery. Tempest also has a talking hellhound who's favorite food of all seems to be cake. She also has a bar where Suki, a giant wood nymph, works.
Trouble starts when three rather drunk guys get into a fight at the bar. Before long one of them turns up dead and the hunt is on for the killer. The Angel Squad, a rather inept police force, is up to their usual short-sighted take on things. In order to deal with the killer, Tempest is going to have to let Frank out.
Frank is the demon that lives inside her and lusts after her sister, Aurora. When a major problems arises, though, she sometimes let's him take over and he's able to handle just about anything physical or supernatural.
It also seems that she and a member of the biker gang might just be starting to hit it off. That is, of course, if he survives the killer long enough.
People are disappearing in Willow Tree Falls. The first two were rude and spoke inappropriately to the bar staff. They were each found in shallow graves, stinking of dark magic and a curse. Then Rhett and Axel are taken. Tempest has to try and save them both, since the Angel Force really wasn't much use, as usual. Great characters, well written, lots of action and a few snickers make this a wonderful read.
I very much enjoyed reading this book. The wonderful characters and quick-paced plot pull you in and don't want to let you go. There are enough twists and turns to qualify as a roller coaster and it's one heck of a ride!
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy and enjoyed it so much that I bought it. I highly recommend this one to you.
This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and unique and entertaining storyline. A very entertaining read with unique and fun characters that is an easy and fun read from beginning to end. Check it out
I absolutely love this series! There is the perfect mix of mystery, paranormal, humor and craziness that blends into a fantastic series and I always look forward to more.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It kept me thinking I who the killer really was. I was very surprised to find out who the killer was. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Great Book! Beautiful fallen angel, not too shabby half demon which one does the witch choose to save....well both of course! Another perfect, funny, killer mystery that the angels can't seem to solve. 😆
The first book was awesome. And the surprises kept coming. There were so many new twists that I could never solve the "Who Done It"! I look forward to the next installment. Annie D.
I was about done with this series. The overall ineptness in the overseeing, in charge group was becoming absurd. That said, the plot moved forward and some very interesting characters were introduced/matured in this book. Book 4 downloaded with reservations and hope for the series.
I like the plot and main characters. Tempest is searching for a murder who uses curses to kill. I never suspected whi the killer is. There are twists in the plot. Who can resist Wiggles, and his desire to get all the cake he wants?
These are good enough books. There are some unique details inherent to the series, which is nice. And, well, talking hellhound... Still, I haven't really clicked with the main characters. So, not my favorite series, but certainly worth spending some time with.
