I just...really don't like Momo.
I don't like the effect he has on Nino. I don't like the way he's so disparaging toward her group (although I get that it's probably coming from a place of jealousy and guilt).
I'm hoping he will redeem himself soon, or I'll probably spend much of this series annoyed.

But, yeah...the parts without Momo were good!

I'm very curious how many people on the bus wondered why I was smiling so widely to myself.

i hope this gets an anime because i'd love to see how they convey people going into raptures over what is, afaict, a girl standing on a stage screaming :')

SUBARASHII DESU. This Rock Horizon festival was sooooo dope, y'all. Honestly, it felt like I was at the rock festival. Fukuyama-sensei definitely wrote a good one with this festival. The art, the story, everything was done nicely! I also like it when Alice sang "Noise" for the first time in the studio, I thought that was a great scene too.

However, my one main concern here is Momo. I wanna like the guy since he IS one of the leads, but he always does something that keeps me from liking him. And honestly? I always end up disliking him as the story progresses. I really wish I could see some sort of character development on him. On the other hand, I really just want Yuzu and Alice to both be happy. I really wish that there will be a time wherein they will stop thinking/talking about Momo. My other concern would be the moms. Both Yuzu's and Momo's. Honestly, we don't know a THING about them and why they're acting like that. Especially Yuzu's mom because this story has been going on quite some time. Why does she dislike Yuzu playing music so much? What's up with Yuzu's dad? Why was Yuzu hospitalized in the first place? I hope to know the answers to these question soon.

Other than that, I'm excited to read the next volume. :)

We get to see Rock Horizons, and the rivalry between In No Hurry and Black Kitty heats up. Yuzu reveals something that may come back, or at least I hope it does, and Momo shows a nicer side than he has before.
I love the build up of Nino becoming friends with the other band members, and I'm starting to wonder what sort of parental drama is coming up as well...
The art for Rock Horizons was really nice, I could tell In No Hurry had a lot of energy and stage presence.

Truly the best volume yet!

I absolutely LOVEDDDDDD this volume! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would because seeing In No Hurry perform was absolutely incredible!

And Momo!! :o :o :o :o What a plot twist! I literally feel so many mixed emotions because of that scene now! (And it makes me eager to keep reading!)

But let's talk about that concert! It was seriously some of the best I've read!! I felt before reading this series that I wouldn't be able to quite appreciate it as much because I couldn't *hear* the music, but Alice/Nino's emotions flew off the page and felt like my hair was getting flung back/all around as her voice wrapped around me. It was an experience I could relive over and over again because it was so captivating!

I really love all these characters especially all the guys In No Hurry! The way they really support Alice and just go along with it is amazing. Granted, I AM thankful they brought her back to Earth because as much as I loved this volume, I was starting to be on the edge of my seat as Alice kept pushing further and further… (Plus, I could agree that they really are just trying to keep up! LOL!)

It's taken me a while to finish this volume, though not because of lack of enjoyment! Just life being super busy, but as soon as I sat down and started reading I was sucked back in and cannot wait to see what happens next! The feelings I have now remind me of what I was feeling when I finished volume two.

I am 100% all in for this series!

Fukuyama really knows how to create an engaging set of characters - even the love triangle here is palatable as there is no one clear winner for our protagonist Nino. This volume mostly covers the big first live concert given by No Doubt - and Momo's competing band Silent Black Kitty, who also wear masks.

Story: Yuzu finds it impossible to compete with Nino's history with Momo - yet he longs to be able to tell her how he feels. When an interview comes up before No Doubt's first big concert the next day, Momo discovers that Tsukika has arranged to have Momo's new band compete with/play at the same concert. Momo boldly declares they will crush No Doubt, to Nino's dismay. But on the day of the concert, right before Nino goes on stage, Momo comes up to her to say a permanent goodbye. Crushed, Nino pours all her heart into the stage performance - but will it be enough to reach Momo?

In this volume, we get more of Momo's mother's machinations - and how he wants only to get away from her. Yuzu, meanwhile, also has mother problems. We get a hint that Yuzu might not have needed to be in the hospital at all and that things are not right with Yuzu's mother either.

Miou is still oblivious to anyone except Yuzu but she has a patient admirer. Meanwhile, the concert proves to be a big changing point for the band - with Nino going 'off the rails' but creating something spectacularly raw as a result. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Okay, this one completely won me over. That festival show, man! I'm so with the Gummi. And I'm actually kind of amazed at the amount of tension and excitement Fukuyama managed to make me feel during their performance. I WANT TO HEAR THIS BAND!

P.S. though. UGH, MOMO! I hate him so much. I really do. I have a feeling this manga is going to make me mad in the end. I'm already mad because volume 6 hasn't come in for me yet--ARGHHH!

I need to get a grip.

Please excuse my manga phase. I'll get over it in a couple weeks or so. Probably.

The story just keeps getting better & better although Nino & Momo are pretty annoying. I do really love Nino & Yuzu so I hope they get together because she really deserves it. I love the balance between music & drama that this author is able to achieve. Can't wait for the next one!

I'm not a fan of how Nino is like a prize between the boys but I do like her coming in the role of being the lead singer. The festival could have gone worse but I still wish Momo didn't mess up Nino flow.

With In No Hurry heading to Rock Horizon with their rivals Silent Black Kitty performing, too, Nino throws herself into polishing her skills, and getting enough guitar training by then. When Momo called her band shitty, she took it to heart because she thinks her skills are rough compared to the rest of the band. Most of the story arc here happens at the rock festival, where Nino is once again pushed to her extremes, as Momo drops a bomb on her right before her performance. It is an intense performance that ensues, with the other boys having to keep up with her frenetic energy. Meanwhile, Yuzu has his own problems at home, with his mother realizing that he has been writing music again and him running away from home (again) because of it. I don't exactly understand why she doesn't want him to even write music, but something seems odd here. Earlier I thought it maybe was that he had damaged his voice but this seems more psychological control than for physical well-being. It was, as always, an intense and angst-y story arc, but with some dramatic performances thrown in. I love how the artwork renders that energy that they have during their sets. It really does make you feel like you are there.

Yuzu loves Nino, huh? He must be so scared to lose her that he can't tell her how he truly feels toward her.

Oh, I thought their band name was just "In No Hurry," but it was actually "In No Hurry to Shout," my bad. I also didn't know that it was "Silent Black Kitty," I thought it was just "Silent Kitty!"😂

Unrequited love is the worst!!!

Nino writing in Yuzu's POV was weird but also sweet.

Momo is frustrated with his life and decisions, but for the future's sake, say something. Tell Nino your truth.

Aww, Alice's push to sing louder so Momo could hear her was heartwarming, but RIP to her throat.

That was so sweet of Momo to come up with puns to make Nino smile when they were younger.

What a fun chapter✨ The concert art was so amazing❤️

Thank you for your hard work, Ryōko🔥

In No Hurry and Silent Black Kitty square off. First on the radio and then at Rock Horizon.

Nino and In No Hurry have been practicing. She wants to get better, but the others realize her sound is the best when she's emotional. But not too emotional. Which she gets at Rock Horizon.

I accidentally skipped this volume and read the next one. Important things do happen here and I would have felt a little differently about 6 had I read this first. We see how the characters feel about each other and that motivation is rather important for the next volume where everyone is just so emotional and all over the place.

The concert! And it's official, I really hate Momo. Instantly derailed just before she's about to go on, Nino loses it on stage...and guess who's to blame? The timing is incredible, and now the entire band is struggling to keep up as Alice goes all monster on stage again.

I know this is a long series, with a lot of development, but give us some hint she will EVER get past this. But we just keep hanging on to where this is becoming annoying.

Of course, the fact that I'm so engaged, enough to become impatient with the situation should tell you this is a great series. So there is that.

This is getting frustrating. They saw how off she is, how she doesn't keep time with the band and screams so how exactly is it that she sounds so amazing that everyone is in awe??? Even though I would like to know what's up with Momo being such a jerk and why Yuzu's mom is the way she is I quit. This is suppose to be fun and I dread picking up these books.

This is the last volume I was able to get from the library before it closed for quarantine... AND IT LEFT OFF ON SUCH A CLIFFHANGER. I can’t wait to find out if Nino makes it to Momo in time to tell him how she feels. Too much suspense!

The super-dramatic festival sequence was great fun & even surprised me from time to time! I wonder what I'd think of the anime version of this? It seems like being able to hear the music would really add to the story.

Why do I imagine that Nino sounds like a screeching bird when she gets all emotional and sings so loudly?? lol She low key annoys me. Not as much as Momo though.

And Yuzu needs to stop being so damn sweet!!!!!

I loved watching Anonymous Noise grow especially with their music and Nino growing into herself and her music. I wish she would let Momo go and just love what Yuzu is and does for her. I do love a good love triangle though and I cannot wait to see where this goes.

"I wouldn't say I'm 'enjoying it.' It's more like... I've got chills."

This is how you make a rock comic. The concert sequence made me feel like I was back at Lalapalooza or PointFest. Insanely good and I'm loving it.

Rockin' on to volume 6. Let's go!
