I am a corrupt king, ruling a sinful empire.
I wasn’t born to the crown.
Nevertheless, I wear it well.

Aislinn Granville is the Crown Jewel of my empire—my queen.
To my enemies, she’s my Achilles heel—a perfect pawn.

Without her, I am a wounded warrior.
A ruthless, relentless beast.

There is nowhere she can be taken that I won’t find her.
No adversary I won’t crush to get her back.

Corrupt Savior is book two in the Wages of Sin duet by Tara Leigh. This book starts up right where the previous book, Cruel Sanctuary, left off. But, the author is kind enough to give us a few reminders of what happened in the previous book in case you’ve forgotten a few of the details. There is one bit of advice I can give you going in, though. Have something tight to hold on to because you’re going to need it.

Aislinn Granville is in the hands of her kidnappers. We see a whole new Aislinn during this time. She is determined not to let herself fall apart. She’s sure Damon is looking for her, she hopes so anyway. But she needs to save herself, so she can return to him. As the details emerge of why she was taken, I was surprised.

you are my home

Damon King is crazed with need to bring his princess home. He is turning the city upside down looking for her. It’s during this time that he finally is forced to accept that he can’t stand the thought of his life without Aislinn in it. He also knows that whoever took her, whoever touched her, will pay the price with his life.

“The one woman I shouldn’t have has become the one woman I can’t live without.”

Aislinn is so tired of being a pawn. I am shocked at the waste of space that is her father. The man is pure evil. As is his Chief of Staff, Chad. She’s still not sure of her place in Damon’s life. Does he actually care for her or is she his pawn as well, his possession? Of one thing she is sure and that is her feelings for him. She loves him, her King.

“She is the air I breathe. The beat of my heart. The light to my dark. The goddess of my dreams.”

This is told from both Damon and Aislinn’s point of views. We’ve seen Aislinn grow so much from the first woman we met in the beginning of the previous book. Damon as well as he comes to terms with his feelings for Aislinn. We do still get some glimpses of his dark side, his very dark side, as he exacts his revenge. I gasped!

.

The sexy times in this book are hotter than hot. Damon and Aislinn burn up the pages. And even though Damon isn’t the sweet, romantic type of hero, as he accepts his feelings, his need for Aislinn, the softer side of him does begin to show. The side that will do anything to make her happy.

This book, this duet, is one crazy, wild ride. I loved every single page, every single word. Tara Leigh has once again shocked and amazed me. If you haven’t started book one yet, I hope you do it now so you’ll be all ready for this one. Believe me when I say you don’t want to miss this.

ღ I was so excited to get my hands on this book, after the last book & of course Tara Leigh didn’t disappoint

➳ I’m not fan of cliffhanger, Cruel Sanctuary left on insane cliffhanger of epic proportions.. I truly wanted to throw my kindle across the room, but thankfully I decided against it.. I knew that I was gonna need it for this final book in the Wages of Sin Duet. Tara Leigh concludes of Damon King & Aislinn Granville’s story.

➳Thankfully things pick up where the first book leaves off.
Aislinn is missing. And Damon is tearing the city up looking for her.

➳So many unanswered questions will be answer in this book. Some question you didn’t even think to ask even

➳ I could tell you so much about this book, but that would be so unfair to you… for you to truly enjoy this book , you need to go in with open eyes

➳ I love how strong & feisty Aislinn is… She not willing to bow down to the all mighty Damon King

❤💕 Of course, you are going to find some very steamy scenes. But you are also going to find so much more then you expected in this book. If you love bit of mystery, suspense, alpha male, corrupt men, feisty female’s, secrets, lies & murder- This book for you

➦📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion
Books should be read in order:

Book 1: Cruel Sanctuary-Release: March 25, 2019

READ MY REVIEW ON THE BLOG

TITLE: Corrupt Savior
AUTHOR: Tara Leigh
SERIES: Wages of Sin #2
RELEASE DATE: May 13th 2019
GENRE: Contemporary Romance/Dark Romance/Romantic Suspense
RATING: 3.5 STARS
CLIFFHANGER: No

CORRUPT SAVIOR continues right where CRUEL SANCTUARY ended and since that ended in a cliffy I was salivating to get my hands on it. If you haven't read the first in this duet, stop right here. Although I try to keep this review as spoiler-free as possible, I will refer to some events that happened in the previous book.

I expected Damon to lose it when his Spitfire went missing. He is  ready to burn down the world and bring everyone, who was only remotely involved, to justice. His feelings for Aislinn are so obvious, yet, there is a little boy inside him that has issues expressing them, which is what causes major conflict with Aislinn. This arrogant, self-assured man, who doesn't get frazzled easily, shows his belly only to the woman who occupies his mind around the clock.
“I don’t know what it’s like not to love you, princess.”

Aislinn handles her abduction surprisingly well. She is badass, never giving up, and, while hoping and waiting for her King to save her, not sitting quietly like a damsel in distress. Now here is a bit of an issue I grappled with. We learn about her childhood trauma in the first book which still affects her in the presence. Yet when she is in a similar situation it doesn't trigger much in her. Another thing I didn't completely buy was
For all the times Aislinn said that she was Damon's and gave the impression that she had no illusions about him, she threw the towel pretty quickly which I found a little irritating. However, she was the fierce, strong, independent woman we saw in the first book so it was hard not to love her.

Damon and Aislinn trying to find common ground and uniting the different worlds they live in is the theme of this story. They have a lot of obstacles in their way that need to be overcome first. There is the constant threat to their lives that makes this story suspenseful and thrilling. And let's not forget the steam - dayum, Damon is a beast. The air positively crackles when Aislinn and Damon are in the same room.

Now I said in my review for CRUEL SANCTUARY that I love Tara Leigh's writing style and let me make clear that I still do. It's all the things I said it was - vibrant and crisp, however I found that she writes with a lot of flourish in CORRUPT SAVIOR which feels a little exaggerated because many of the sentiments have the same pattern.
The man who has become my world. My heart. My everything. Damon King.

Damon King. My devil. My monster. Mine.

She is the air I breathe. The beat of my heart. The light to my dark. The goddess of my dreams.

The devil who danced into my heart, the monster who slayed my nightmares, the lover of my fantasies.

I lost the only good thing in my life. My bright light. My sunshine. My spitfire. My goddess. My queen.

I already have my reward. My savior. My savage. My devil. My dark knight. And his name is Damon King.

There are more of those throughout the book and while these are beautiful words I think a little more economical usage of them would have made them more meaningful. Plus, at some point they felt a little filler-y.

With all that being said, this book was entertaining, the little issues I had didn't influence my enjoyment much. Damon and Aislinn's relationship was captivating and breathtakingly beautiful and I rooted for them from beginning to end. If you like your books a little on the darker side and with a lot of passion grab this!

Lately for me book two of duets never seem to live up to the promise book one laid down. That was SO not the case with this book. It was almost a perfect 5 Star read for me. Corrupt Savior picks up right after the ending events of Cruel Sanctuary and we are immediately thrust into the ongoing action. Damon is on the warpath and Aislinn is determined to save herself. I adored these two. They have such an amazing connection. They are probably one of my favorite book couples to date.

description
So deets...The writing remained top notch. It was a well-paced book. The plot continued to be super engaging. There were twists and turns. Hot sex. Not OW or OM drama. Some intriguing secondary characters I would love to see get their own books (Sebastian..please). And both Damon and Aislinn remained strong main characters.

description
So why not 5 Stars. Two things lowered my rating ever so slightly. One, I didn't like how Aislinn reacted to something near the end of the book. Honestly, I thought she WAY overreacted and I am not a fan of runners. So that tarnished my love for her (just a wee bit). My other issue was that I thought the ending was a bit rushed. I was expecting a little more regarding the whole situation. Still, even with those two minor issues this was still a fantastic duet I can't recommend highly enough.

I'm dead! Gah, I had missed my King.
Book 2 was just as epic as the first one. Starting off just has Cruel Sanctuary had ended, we get to see Aisleen being the bada$$ she is. This woman proved exactly what I already knew, she is strong and brave and the perfect match for Damon. While we get to see Aisleen strong side come out, we simultaneously get to see Damon's vulnerable side. He feels insane without his Queen and he will do anything to get her back but the girl saves herself in this one (sort of).

There were so many surprising and unexpected things happening while Aisleen was held captive, I really loved that part of the plot because it definitely caught me by surprise. And later on, when more things were revealed regarding the whole Los Muertos situation... and trust me I conjured up many teories of my own and I picked up clues that actually weren't clues at all xD So kudos to you Tara, you got me!

When it comes to Damon and Aisleen's relationship it was thriving in in the midst of all the chaos and surprises that had them making sudden actions you'll be happy about and also making them suspicious over everything. It was all good between them until there's this thing that happens (sorry for the vagueness) and suddenly things are not okay at all. And I just think that this 'thing' was taken out of proportion and was just for the sake of having a conflict between them, which to me was not necessary at all, specially with everything else already happening around them. BUT it made Damon finally admit to himself his feelings for Aisleen and want to say those three "little" words. Gah, Damon being romantic was both funny and so darn cute.

When Aisleen learned all the secrets Damon had been keeping about her past, I honestly thought that that would have been the thing that would have caused the conflict between them but no, Aisleen let Damon be there for her and I was so happy about it. Seeing Aisleen learn about her half sister was so emotional, I loved that that made their bond even stronger and that she had family other than Damon and her ailing mother.

Corrupt Savior was everything I was expecting it to be. Damon and Aisleen were both better than ever and I just loved them both so much! You get so many sides of them both in this book. Damon is just as ruthless but you definitely get to see his softer side that only Aisleen can bring out of him. And she was so fierce, her character growth was just amazing! She was a Queen fit to rule alongside her King, there was no one better or no one who could stand beside him other than her. And if you thought that the last book was HOT, then you are not ready for this one! Prepare to be set to flames!

Corrupt Savior was definitely Tara Leigh's darkest book to date and I loved seeing her venture into a different trope and absolutely rocking it. For someone who just recently started reading dark romances and learning to love them, Tara gave me two delicious books that I loved and devoured and will forever remember. This duet is possibly my favorite ever of her books and yes I have read and loved them all.

Corrupt Savior, using concise writing and riveting events, left me obsessed, with my mind consumed and fixation intensified. Dark and full of angst, this thrilling conclusion contained enough danger and needed grit to give this duet and couple’s relationship justice it deserved. Nothing is held back as we’re thrown straight into an action filled scenario that will leave your heart beating frantically as suspense ridden events unfold.

The one woman I shouldn’t have has become the one woman I can’t live without.

Damon’s allure only increases in this duet’s closure. We’ve witnessed this anti-hero be ruthless and merciless—this goes up tenfold when someone threatens Aislinn—though this seeming careless and emotionless attitude is pushed aside by an unforeseen, hidden tenderness. Damon demonstrates an uncharacteristic sweetness that leaves your emotions soaring in absolute glee, because there’s nothing better than seeing an asshole anti-hero have a soft spot for the heroine.

In adversity, Aislinn transforms into a heroine with newfound strength. Despite the unfortunate circumstances she’s in, Aislinn’s feistiness and determination doesn’t wane, and her unwavering confidence and resolute nature reminds us that she’s a perfect woman for Damon. She’s managed to unveil Damon’s emotionally vulnerable side hiding underneath a facade of conceited arrogance and raw dominance that leads towards a more heartfelt, emotionally charged relationship.

“I don’t know what it’s like not to love you, princess.”

Seeing Damon’s connection with Aislinn change is beautifully romantic and dramatically exciting. It started unconventionally with no affection, but the draw between them is undeniable and inevitably leads towards a blooming romance that flourishes into something formidable. Even when their relationship is tested by sudden internal threats, the deceit that threatens to separate this couple only strengthens the connection they’ve forged.

Delivered in short though sweet sentences, Corrupt Savior doesn’t lack excitement or intense suspense. It delves into a titillating dark but tame romance and delivers a sensuous, uninhibited narrative that won’t disappoint. You’ll be rendered enamoured and enthralled by this closure, with all of the complicated situations the characters find themselves traversing.

I’m a huge Tara Leigh fan, she’s an auto-read author for me. It does not matter what the book is about, I will read it. Upon finishing Cruel Sanctuary, I was left desperate for Corrupt Savior. I needed to see what came next, and I was desperate to devour the end of the duet.

I’m going to be completely honest here and say this isn’t the same kind of four-star rating I have given other Tara Leigh books. The likes of Rock King and Rock Legend are four-star ratings threatening to be five-star ratings (in fact, a part of me regrets rounding Rock Legend down instead of up), whereas the Wages of Sin duet books are simply your standard four-star reads. They were fun to read, there were a few points where I was leaning more towards the three-star rating, but I would still recommend them.

I mentioned my feelings towards dark romance in my review of Cruel Sanctuary, and I believe this is why this duet is a much weaker four-star rating than my other Tara Leigh reads. This is especially true with this second book. You see, I kept expecting things to be much darker. The situations that we witnessed had the potential to be truly dark, but we never went to the level I like. In my mind, I was creating scenarios and scenes – things that play out in the kind of dark romances I usually read – and when the story never reached that level of darkness I was disappointed. For those people that enjoy mainstream dark romances, this is great. For readers like myself, those readers that like it when characters are taken to the very edge of the abyss and are then pushed in, this one is on the tame side.

Although Corrupt Savior was not as dark as I had hoped it would be, it was an addictive read. It had more than enough to keep me turning the pages, and I finished the book in no time at all. Once I started reading, I could not put it down. I had to see how everything came together, and I was addicted as I always am with Tara Leigh’s work. The woman has a way with words, a way of sucking you into the story, and such is the case with this one.

Overall, this was a great conclusion to the duet. The duet may not be my favourite work by the author, but it’s certainly worth the read.

The last part of this duet was also full of suspense, angst, passion, twists and turns.

The continuation of push and pull between main characters, and Aislinn’s reactions/behaviour, spoiled my interest. Also, she knew all along Damon’s nature of business and shouldn’t demand of him for changes.
There was not enough development regarding side plots or secondary characters and the revelation towards the end was handled with great rush.

The intensity never eased…

Aislinn and Damon’s romance continued in this intense, violent and twisty second half of their duet. If I had any doubts Aislinn was a match for Damon, this story showed she was more than his equal. And proved it over and over again. Kidnapping, betrayal. Aislinn may have been knocked over but she quickly got up and showed what she was made of. Damon, of course, would never let her stand alone. He moved heaven and earth to find her. And then avenge her….

Whatever was on offer, was not mild or gentle. Brutality, love, heat – it was all on octane high and this author invited me to share every moment. From the times I read through my fingers (yeah, that’s not easy) to turning the fan up even higher, I was living and breathing along with them...

I hope this author has a long backlist because I am hooked!

“If genies are real, if fairy godmothers exist, if there is an angel perched on my shoulder–I would only ask for one thing. To return to my king.”

“No way will I become some soft-spined, weak-willed damsel in distress, hoping and wallowing and waiting for my dark knight to rescue me. To hell with that. I’m going to rescue myself.”

“Even in darkness in you is beautiful to me, Damon. You are my dark prince, my vengeful devil, my corrupt savior.”

I don’t know about you guys, but after the way things left off in the previous book, I have been waiting on pins and needles to see what would happen next. And I gotta tell you, Corrupt Savior does not disappoint!! Cruel Sanctuary left you with a lot of questions and I promise you will find all of your answers in Corrupt Savior.

Corrupt Savior picks up right where the last book left off and promises to keep you on your toes. Damon and Aislinn are back and better than ever. Aislinn’s strength and determination are exactly what she’s going to need if she plans to find her way back to Damon. And while Damon might think he’s not right for Aislinn or deserving of her, nothing will stop him from making Aislinn his queen. The journey for these two is filled with lots of bumps along the way and loyalties will be tested. All I can say is sit back and enjoy the ride; it’s going to be a good one!

Corrupt Savior hits the ground running and kept me on pins and needles. There was danger and drama. Twists and Turns. Romance and Fight. This book checked off all my marks and was just the follow up I was looking for. Corrupt Savior is a terrific read from beginning to end. It will captivate you and will have devouring all the words. I had a wonderful time getting swept up in Aislinn & Damon story again.

Title: Corrupt Saviour (Wages of Sin #2)
Author: Tara Leigh
Genre: Contemporary, Suspense

After how things were left off in the first book Cruel Sanctuary , I was super excited to read Corrupt Saviour.
I loved this book! Can't say I have not enjoyed a single book written by Tara and I doubt I'm going to start now.

Corrupt Savior Teaser 2.jpg

Corrupt Saviour has the perfect blend of suspense, intrigue, sizzle and romance.
There is no denying that I love reading romance novels but I do have a guilty pleasure of reading romance books that have an edge to it. it's not cookie-cutter cute but full of swoon worthy hotness!

When I was reading this book, Tara asked me if I had started the shower scene... I hadn't. But let's be real here ok? A shower scene. You know just with those words that it's going to be a STEAMY AF. And oh lord was it HOT!
I think my eyes popped out of it's socket 😍

Corrupt Savior Teaser 5.jpg

If I haven't mentioned already, I love Aislinn Granville. She is smart and beautiful. I loved her character more for being smart enough to trust him first before falling in love. A round of applause for her 👏🏼

Corrupt Savior Teaser 1.jpg

Damon King without a doubt THE PERFECT corrupt saviour.

Here's the thing, I could say and spill all the things I loved about this duet but I won't... except  this: the characters are the pillars of  storyline for me. What's use of having an epic storyline if I can't stand the characters, right?  Tara Leigh never fails to write amazing characters and she didn't stop now.
The chemistry between Aislinn and Damon is on a whole new epic level.

Wages of Sins Duet has been such an amazing suspenseful, edgy contemporary romance read for me and I am, like always, looking forward to reading more books by Tara.

Hot, action-packed and suspensful. After ending of the first part in the Wages of Sin Duet I couldn’t get my hands on the second book quickly enough. But it was so worth the wait! Tara Leigh wrote the perfect conclusion for Aislinn and Damon's story! It’s a little bit darker than anything I’ve read so far from this author but this story definitely needed this dangerous and gritty side.

This book starts where the previous ended. After Aislinn's disapperance Damon is full of rage. What happened to his queen unleashed the beast. But at the same time we can see his fear and other human feelings when his beloved is concerned. But is he able to give her life that Aislinn deserves? Or will he just replace one cage to another?

The dynamics of this story was fast-paced, what kept me in constant tension and throughout the whole time I bit my lip with nerves. On the one hand, I was worried about our heroine’s fate, and on the other I wondered how far Damon would have to go to bring her back. But I was crossing my fingers hard, because for every reader it’s certain that this couple is made for each other and they just MUST be together. King needs his queen at his side, and there’s no other woman in the world who deserves this title more than Aislinn. She's strong, fierce and determined to help Damon any way she can. Damon is still ruthless alpha but we can see his softer side (but ONLY for Aislinn). I fell in love with him even more in this book. Their sexy times are so incredibly hot that they can put your Kindles on fire! Steam is pouring from every page and you’re panting and breathless just from reading.

5 stars for the suspense, emotions and hotness! Tara Leigh gave me the perfect ending to the story I'm addicted to.

Soooo I was waiting impatiently for this book like forever and I can only say that I was speechless while reading it because there are so many things happening that I didn't expect and Omg it's so much more than you can imagine.
When Tara said she will go darker, this is so much darker than you expect.
There are moments of suspense that left me mouth opened and I just couldn't wrap my head around, I was like Who is this author, where is she coming from because this rollercoaster of events and emotion are hard to keep up with.
Oh, let's not forget the chemistry between Aislinn and King, they light up fireworks when together and surely the author has raised the hot limits for the written sexy time because you gonna need a drink or 5 to cool down for sure.
I just can't say enough how much I love this book.
The perfect balance of suspense, angst and sexy scenes that are so hot.

Oh WOW !!!!!!!
It's only what I can say now, or...maybe I'm wrong...? Maybe, I should say a little more, just to be sure that Mrs. Leigh recieve this message : Dear Tara Leigh YOU ARE MY MASTER !!!!

I'm absolutely in love with this duet !!!!! Tara Leigh has done great job with second book in this series. I'm always saying out loud, that me akta Reader Marta have big problems with duets... My biggest problem is that, I'm not patient reader, mostly I really prefere one book for whole story. But with Wages of Sin, from Tara Leigh, I have totally opposite issue, because She made to feel greedy ! I want more and more Aislinn and Damon! I'm really glad that Tara write about them 2 books. My inner stalker feel really pleased today .

Corrupt Savior is written in Mrs Leigh's finest style !!! Of course where's first part ended, second book starts.... and from the begining I've got feeling, that Tara Leigh invited me for fast ride without warming up. All the twists, ups and downs.... with whole storyline just didn't let me put this book down. I couldn't stop to read, I needed to know what will happen next... Aislinn and Damon again steal my time, but that was the best thivery, that reader can have. Specially, when I knew, I'll recieve the best bonus from this couple - their desire for each other. Gahhhhh chemistry between them is so overwhelming... For sure they left tons of blush on my very adult face.

After my next adventure with this author and her characters I know, I'll be coming back for more. Tara Leigh never ever dissapointed me !!!

Wages of Sin is a must read !

4.5 “You make me everything” stars!

The conclusion to the Wages of Sin duet, this book picks right up where Cruel Sanctuary left off, and it is an exciting, intriguing, dramatic ride with a heartstopping romance that is all kinds of sexy and beautifully emotional. I was swept right back up into Damon and Aislinn’s world, and I absolutely loved their journey!

The one woman I shouldn’t have has become the one woman I can’t live without.

In Cruel Sanctuary we saw Damon and Aislinn come together. It was far from conventional and not a bit romantic, but their draw to each other was undeniable, resulting in a whole lot of sexy time as the controlling King of the Underground met his match in feisty, intelligent and independent Aislinn. Their ‘relationship’ was tumultuous, and we were left with a nasty cliffhanger, but that dramatic moment leads in beautifully to this book as they come to realise exactly what they have come to mean to each other and they fight like hell to get it back.

Aislinn Granville is everything to me.
Every. Fucking. Thing.

This book is fast-paced, dramatic and really exciting. Told in dual POV, we get to see everything that Damon and Aislinn are going through, and I was right there with them as they lay it all out on the line for each other.

“I’m here with you, exactly where I want to be. Exactly where I belong.”

It’s beautifully romantic and surprisingly swoony, but most of all… it’s HOT! Damon is a bit of a beast in the sack – controlling, uninhibited and supremely talented, and sexy time is off the charts!

Right now, there is no distinction between need and want, necessity and luxury.
Aislinn Granville is both. And I want, need, must-fucking-have her.

And more than just sex, there’s a growing emotion between them that is beautifully explored as they come to realise just how deeply they have fallen, and their open-hearted discussions and emotional declarations had me lost in a world of swoon.

“I don’t know what it’s like not to love you, princess.”

But before they can claim their happy ending, they have a whole lot of hurdles to face – not only are they dealing with the ever-present dangers from the criminal world that they inhabit, but they have a newly discovered internal threat. All while they are figuring out how two such strong people can find a balance between their very different worlds to make a relationship work.

It’s a wild ride full of intrigue, suspense and excitement, and I was glued to my kindle as it all played out. I loved the ups and downs, I love how they were handled, and I love the character development for both Damon and Aislinn as they forged their middle ground to claim their HEA. Of course we know that Damon is a force to be reckoned with, but is just as strong, showing her badassery as the fierce heroine fighting for herself and her man, and she was absolutely fantastic!

There is an epilogue which finishes off their story beautifully, and an extended epilogue available if you sign up for the author’s newsletter that absolutely melted my heart – definitely worth it!

This is such a great duet. It started off well, and ended even better, and I loved it!

4.5 stars!

Man, I am not equipped to deal with Cliffhangers! They make me fucking stabby. I’m eternally grateful that I got to read the books in this duet one after the other. I don’t think my heart would have been able to take it. ⁣

Oh Damon. You continue to be all growly, a giant pain in the ass, and sexy as fuck! I seriously can’t get enough of his character. I love the moments when his guard was down and you see the vulnerable side of him. He has insecurities like the rest of us mere mortals. Did I mention that he’s sexy as fuck? ⁣

Damon and Aislinn are still trying to navigate the waters of their relationship, all while the bad guy continues to creep closer. There were a couple of times that I wanted to give Aislinn a shake. Her constant need to run away when things get the slightest bit tough drove me batty. But that just made her true to her character. She’s stubborn, and it sometimes overtakes her ability to think things through. I really liked that Damon didn’t always just run after her. He put some of that control into her hands. Make no mistake though, he wasn’t going to let her get far. Did I mention that he’s sexy as fuck? I think I might have said something about it. 🤔⁣

This book was an amazing conclusion to Damon and Aislinn’s love story. I like how everything didn’t just fall into place for them easily. There were lots of hurdles, and they both had to work at it and be truly invested. Damon had to work to gain Aislinn’s trust, and in turn, she had to learn how to hand over some of the control to him. ⁣

Of course there was a ton of panty dropping sexy times. I mean, that whole sexy as fuck thing, right? Damon is a beast...in and out the of the bedroom. ⁣

I REALLY REALLY hope that Sebastian gets a book! Did you see how I capitalized that, Tara? It means I’m desperate. Wink wink. ⁣

If you like a grittier romance with an anti-hero, the Wages of Sin duet is for you! ⁣

There is nothing like being in Damon King's world and there's nothing like a Tara Leigh book!

I was craving more of Damon and HOLY CRAP did I get it! I swear I almost had a stroke at the end of Cruel Sanctuary, I was completely freaking out wondering what would happen to Aislinn and more importantly how Damon would handle it.

Let's face it, Aislinn is in deep crap, we start off just were we left off and Los Muertos wants to use her in more ways than one. She's been taken and it's just the beginning of her worst nightmare and true to herself, Aislinn is determine to save herself.

Damon is losing his mind, Aislinn means so much more to him than even he was willing to admit to himself. She's his light, his Queen, his absolute everything. He wants to know who has her and he'll tear the whole city down with everyone in it to get to her.

The intensity is insane in this book! Twists, lies, deceit, betrayal and could there be a possible traitor amongst them?

Through it all our King & Queen remain strong, unbroken, fierce and powerful.

Tara absolutely never disappoints! Corrupt Savior is a romantic, suspenseful, emotional, fast paced, page turner, that is going to blow your mind!

5 Star Review of Corrupt Savior (The Wages of Sin Duet #2) by Tara Leigh
This is the conclusion to The Wages of Sin Duet, so if you have not read Cruel Sanctuary, you need to stop and Corrupt Savior picked up where it ended.
I was hooked from the first to the last chapter and found myself absolutely riveted to the book, I couldn’t put it down. I am not sure if the author has written any other dark stories besides this duet but I have to say she did an outstanding job.
When Aislinn is kidnapped, Damon will leave no stone unturned in his frantic search to find her whilst Aislinn herself is determined to survive the horror she finds herself in.
Once Aislinn and Damon are reunited, it is not the end of the danger. The biggest issue is who can be trusted not to betray them as enemies surround them, perhaps even closer that they suspect.
The story was not only extremely suspenseful but it was hot with the chemistry between them intense and sizzling. Damon is not used to the word NO and yet the feisty and sassy Aislinn is not afraid to use it.
Can Damon and Aislinn create a future together or are they destined to be destroyed by those who surround them?
This was a conclusion that did justice to the story of Damon and Aislinn and I congratulate Tara Leigh on a brilliant duet.

Aislinn’s Dark Knight

Picking up where Cruel Sanctuary left off, I’m thrilled to be in the thick of the intrigue and mystery. And, of course, the romance.

Damon is no less determined to get what he wants. Aislinn is no damsel in distress and confident enough in her own skin to know that she wants Damon, but won’t be a pawn either. Their time together is both steamy and smart. They are characters with many layers.

Flourishing prose, dangling bread crumbs, fascinating imagination - all components woven together to make a mesmerizing read. I’ll admit that I sometimes tend to be what I refer to as a surface reader and miss the details and a-ha moments. But don’t be me. Those moments for Damon and Aislinn are profound and make the story that much more enjoyable.

Corrupt Savior is an exciting conclusion to the The Wages of Sin duet.

✨ DREAMY’S REVIEW ✨

Corrupt Savior is the conclusion of Aislinn and Damon’s story in the Wages of Sin duet. It picks up right where left off on the cliffhanger for Cruel Sanctuary...

Damon is out, angry, and full of Wrath while Aislinn is determined to save her own self from her kidnapper(s).

“I can’t lose focus. I’m not a little girl anymore. I’m not collateral damage. This time, I was taken alone. This time, I am the target. I was stolen from under the King’s nose. They want me.”

What I loved the most about this was Aislinn’s strength, her willingness to see herself out the situation she was in, and her determination to see it through. We see her in a completely different light under the circumstances, and it made me love her more. She needed to be free and find her way back to Damon.

“What if I never return to the man I’ve been taken from?”

What I loved most about Damon was his love, fierce loyalty, and determination to find Aislinn. I loved how even when there were times of doubt, his love shined through. He didn’t give up, even when circumstances weren’t exactly on his side. Aislinn was his home and he needed her to breathe steadily again.

“Aislinn saw light in my darkness and called it beautiful.”

The twists and turns, the truths you learn while reading will shock you! The corruption and the way people are being played is like a game.

Aislinn Granville is no longer a pawn for anyone. Damon King is still who he is and always has been.

I loved how Aislinn’s character evolved in Corrupt Savior and I loved how Damon embraced her and her love.

“I am desperate to revel in the raging storm that Damon and I create when we are together. The kind of storm that deserves a name. Deserves to be written in the history books for its power... and for the toll of its destruction.”

*****

Tara Leigh’s writing remains superb! The book itself is paced perfectly, the plot remaining captivating, and our hero and heroine super intriguing in their growth throughout the book!

My only issues were the dark aspect, yet again. When it comes to dark romance, I have a high regard and expectation because it’s something I live for. Again, this is dark, in its sense, but on the more tamer side of things. Also, the whole issue with the “mole,” got glossed over way too quickly. I felt the last few chapters felt a bit rushed and I wanted just a bit more!

Nonetheless, I did enjoy this duet so much! Tara Leigh wrote some unforgettable characters with an amazing plot!

I cannot wait to see what this author has in store for us in the future!

Twisted love - Epic Situations

A romance book that you will be able to read over and over - if simply for the amazing, sexy, and alpha Damon King.

Omg. This book has been on my mind since I finished cruel sanctuary. This freaking book is amazeballs!!! Her characters are so strong, but very very real. She creates a world of corrupt people, but you are a part of it and crave every word that you read!! This a masterpiece of epic characters and love that can endure anything. They’re sizzling hot together and their passion consumes them when they are together.

Aislinn and Damon are a hot couple with a lot of issues from the past and present between them. They have issues that are below the surface and are hard to face due to their positions and circumstances. Their story started out rather difficult, and with his job, it only gets harder. But, it is worth it all and endures all - including attacks, lies, and conspiracy.

“And I am definitely Damon King’s ally. His partner in life and love. His princess and his queen. “

The things happen in this book will shock you to your core, but you get all the happy, steamy feelings back by the end. In the end, NO ONE messes with Damon King and comes out of it unscathed. He is one strong, alpha male that I would love to meet in real life!! He shows his love in a different way than others but it is true and genuine, the best he can do. How he shows his love is original and oh so sweet (for Damon King).

“Thank you for being the light to my dark. Thank you for being the queen to my king. Thank you for everything.”

So to wrap up, go buy this book! If you love alpha males who require control and will do anything to have their woman- this book is for you!!

This is the second book in this duet, and it was fantastic.

Aislinn finds herself in an undesirable situation and never plays the damsel in distress. She is such a strong, fierce, take charge type of heroine.

Damon starts to show a softer side in this book. He understands what he has with Aislinn and isn’t willing to lose that connection.

The twists, turns, and secrets that were revealed had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I just wish there was more. I have so many questions about this world and want to get to know several secondary characters better.

Overall, this duet is a must read that will have you holding your breath until to know everything is right in the world. Definitely a must read.

I’ve been waiting for this since the ending of Cruel Sanctuary and this book picks up right where it left off. We are wondering what is going to happen with Aislynn, is she safe etc. I was worried that Damon would go off the deep end and not be able to return, that his darkness would take control and he’d be lost in it for good, but I was surprised he did lose some control and was out of his element when he realized how much Aislynn meant to him and what he would do to get her back. I was also proud of the strength that Aislynn found, she was already a strong willed person but in this book she dug deep and found a strength she didn’t know she had and it was thanks to Damon. He showed her she could be resilient and someone who could be strong enough to live in his world. I also loved how they came together to find out he couldn’t just be her protector standing in front of her keeping her in the dark about things because the less she knows the safer she’s is mentality, no Damon had to realize they were better as equals doing things together and that’s just what they did. Also those epilogues!!! This book had it all suspense, those steamy moments, holy cow those steamy moments, and a Corrupt King finding his equal in his Queen.

What an awesome conclusion to this duet. I absolutely fell in love with Aislinn & Damon. They have that animalistic chemistry that just grabs your attention and won’t let go. The story picks up right where book 1 left off. I felt the struggle that Aislinn went through. Love how she is a strong character with great personality. Damon is hard not to fall in love with. His love for Aislinn is what keeps us guessing to our books. He has no limit in what he will do for her. This is definitely a must read. You will also call in love with the secondary characters. 55 star read. Definitely recommend!
