I was sold to werewolves.

They said I’m the Lost Princess of Howling Sky. I said I’m just Sorissa. They said I’m to be claimed by a lecherous prince and that I’ll end some timeless war between werewolves, vampires, and humans. I made other plans.

Then four powerful werewolves from a rival kingdom came out of nowhere, and I was stolen again.

They call themselves Phantom Fangs. Now, they’re taking me to their kingdom to keep me “safe.” They probably intend for some other prince to claim me instead. But I’m going to change their minds. They’re different from the other werewolves. They’re kind, they listen to me, and they make my blood run hot.

Can I trust them?

Okay, first off I must say it wasn't a four star exactly but getting there - hence the rating. Now I've read both the books in the series I appreciate it more! I am a huge female protagonist fan, it's my favourite. This was kinda a combo of my fave things... hot alphas/kickass chick/hot sex/fantasy/humour. It is a good book and it is going to be a great series, try it.

Didn't work for me. There was something irritating about the naive main character. I find it hard to believe she's that non-shy, but if she were that cut off from people, she doesn't show it. The men are an interesting enough unit but I just didn't feel it - it's a slow burn with the steamy stuff but the insta-attraction and almost love is quick. The society is grim, depressing and frustrating stuff. What a world to save, yech. The writing isn't horrible but the pacing is sped up and simplistic. I didn't feel an investment of emotion or interest in their personal lives or the romantic relationship. Also throw in some multiple POV's, which isn't an appeal to me for this genre (just doesn't work as well since all secrets are revealed), and I had a story that barely held my interest.

DNF at 50%. At only 200+ pages, this book seems to go on forever. It’s rather boring and I had no connection to any of the characters. At least for me, it just had nothing that would hold my attention.

Not what it seems

This is an amazing story. It has kind of a post apocalypse feel. Slow burn. A lot of sexual tension. A lot of action. The world building is great. You really get a feel for the characters.

A very interesting take on the story of werewolves, vampires, and humans. My only problem with the story is it got overly repetitive fast. If we could have taken that out and replaced it with more detail or some more of the mother journal, it would have been a 5 star read.

Lost in the woods

The unknown lost princess was raised in the woods by a witch, her only companion. All her knowledge stems from the fairytales told to her by Babaga. Then the time comes to fulfill the destiny her mother left to her, to bind to the wolf prince of Paws Peak and unify the remaining wolf people. Only, the prince? He ain't so princely. He's a nasty, grabby, spoiled brat. And his people are called man-eaters, which doesn't say anything nice about their treatment of humans. That's nothing to say of the vampires she saw dying in the dungeons as she escaped her would-be mating to Sir Jerky Fur-Face. The 4 wolves that rescue her seem to be a little nicer, but she's withholding judgement until she sees how they treat others, someone lower in the hierarchy than a princess. They said they're shields to humans but after watching one of her rescuer's brothers break a human's arm simply because he could isn't exactly winning her over to their team, either. Her only connection to her past is a journal wrote by her mother, and what's on there is disturbing, too. Life in the woods was so much more simple than this tangled mess she was tossed into.

Spoilers ahead.
The phrasing of this novella is dry. It takes some wading to get through it. There are terms used, some you can pick up in context but there is a glossary at the end to help, too. Sorissa is in some ways a blank slate, like a child. She has no concept of modesty, personal space, table etiquette, people skills, nada. Her life has been very simple in the forest. Her only human-ish contact has been an elderly witch. Then she's tossed out by her to a rude set of guards that transport her to an even nastier set of royals. She manages to hold her own and facilitates her own escape. She's no fainting flower. She's taken on bears and she's supposed to be a more powerful wolf than any other, male or female. Learning about humans, wolves, and vampires outside of the stories she was told is eye opening. She's learning real quick to observe rather than listen, because the 2 aren't adding up to the same. It took a while to get into this, I was probably more than halfway through before it started to pick up. And it is a slow burn, she's only forming tenuous friendship bonds at the moment. The world building is decent. We keep hearing about these fairytales but never see what's in them or how it shaped her idea of others other than seeing them all as equal. She doesn't fall into the standard wolf bias of being the best species and is as delighted with human tech as she is with her own abilities. And that's another thing, she doesn't seem to need any training. Not sure how a witch seemed to know how to pass all the important wolf into on, especially abilities that may be different from her own, but Sorissa comes fully equipped with no training necessary. As I said, no delicate damsel this one. But, as delightful as a kick butt heroine is she also is deliberately willful and confrontational when she doesn't need to be. And not in helpful ways. But, the premise is interesting and now that the action, fight scenes, are rolling in I will move on to the sequel.

A decent read for a time you don't want much braining

In the past weeks I've read at least two books which have this very narrow and impossible conception of freedom: you can only be free if nobody else can tell you to do something. The heroines are trying to achieve it and never stop to think if it is at all possible and what it would mean. One of them even said "only a king can be free", but even she wasn't able to follow that thought up with her experience of meeting the king. It makes them sound like 3-year-olds who have yet to grow beyond the first stage of pre-conventional moral development and that's not a type of heroine I like to read about

If Sorissa wasn't like that, I'd consider reading the other books in the series, as it is I feel no inclination to do so

Ehh

Loved the female MC (total freaking badass) but her men were a bunch of wusses. Why are they not standing up for themselves?? Are they not alphas?? Mmm I hope the next book shows them growing some balls.

Unfortunately we didn't get any hot scenes in this one

The story for this series is coming along nicely but I don't like having to wait until later books in a series to get any hot scenes in my reverse harem novels. Also the men are kind of blundering. Not making me swoon anyway.

I absolutely loved this book. There are a lot of characters to introduce so there is a lot to take in for the first two chapters. Our heroine, Sorrissa, is the Lost Princess who has spent her life with a witch in a forest totally unaware of her destiny. On her 18th birthday she is handed over to the Guard of Paws Peak, who are to take her to her betrothed Prince Charles. Sorissa finds herself thrown into a world where she has to say over her future and immediately in Charles bedroom as he tries to claim her as his. She flees in fear and is found by Phantom Fangs, a group of werewolves from Wolf Bridge who have come to retrieve her and take her to their kingdom. The world she has discovered is at war and has been for many years. Her destiny is that whichever faction has her as their queen will be the victor of the world. The werewolves of Paws Peak, the werewolves of Wolf Bridge, The vampires and the human Rebels all want her but Sorrissa has other ideas, she does not want to be claimed by anyone. She desires to be an equal.

Kamryn has created an innocence about Sorrissa as she knows nothing of the world that is enchanting and draws the members of Phantom Fangs to her as her protectors but deeper feelings come into play in this RH romance. Sorrissa yearns to be with her men, they treat her as an equal, they make her happy, but King Philip wants her to choose one of his sons. The end of the book has a cliffhanger which will have you racing to order the next book in the series. Just wish we didn't have to wait so long. Enjoy!!!!!

I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review

This book had very interesting concepts. I understood Ms. Hart was trying to infuse fresh blood into the classic worlds of weres, vamps, and the humans who live with them. I appreciated the effort she put into that, but for me personally, seventy-five percent of the story felt like a detail-heavy info dump. I couldn’t invest myself in the story or the characters, because I felt like I was constantly being taught, told, or shown trivial things in extreme detail.

Raised alone in the woods by a witch, Sorissa had no clue about her history or the world outside her forest. A lost werewolf princess, she has the potential to shift the ongoing war raging between packs of wolves. Unfortunately, she’s been living in the dark. A crash course in politics, kidnapping, and what life is like in the “real world” kick her life into high gear.

There were a lot of moving parts, characters, and background to get straight. I think this story could’ve benefited from being longer, and having more interaction and perhaps a smidge more of humor to break things up and show the characters interacting in more than high stress, life or death situations.

Balancing multi-mate stories is a tough job, and in this case, it didn’t work for me.

This is one I found on Amazon and I had no idea there was a Prologue. I found the beginning to be confusing, and this would have been cleared up by reading that Prologue. Now.. I am going back to read that (also KU) because it is short and I hope it will fill in a few things.

I think the Book Description is misleading. There is an attempted rape/mating, but otherwise it's just kisses. If you were looking for some 'steam' it isn't in this book... maybe in Books 2 or 3.

This isn't a fantasy where you will find much lightness and beauty. There is a continual war between the Humans, Werewolves, and Vampires for control of the world. Much of it has been destroyed by a massive weapons the Humans set off, leaving two Werewolf kingdoms, one Vampire kingdom, and no Human kingdoms.

Princess Sorissa has been living in a forest with a powerful witch who has protected her from the outside world. She has no knowledge of life outside the magic forest except what she has learned reading fairy tales that the witch has. She has powerful werewolf shifter magic, though, and is very competent in self-defense.

At the age of 18, her witch guardian hands her over to one of the werewolf kingdoms to be the mate to its Prince. This is where the story gets interesting...

Annoying MC.

I almost gave this book one star. I decided, since I actually finished it, I'll add a star.
The MC, Princess, was almost insufferable.
I understand she was sheltered... But her attitude pissed me off.
She doesn't know what light bulbs or guns are... But she knows what cannons are? Referring to the guns as hand cannons...
I know she grew up on fairytales...so PERHAPS she learned of cannons from them... But at least mention that she did. Otherwise it just feels inconsistent.
She joined a spar with one of her guards...
She lost... The match was called... Dude backs off... And she attacks him again anyway.
There was like... One guy I liked in this whole story. The redhead tech dude.
Otherwise... Everyone else was just sorta... There.
They felt so generic. No real qualities to set them apart. Like a copy paste of one dude, just add a tattoo to this one and a beanie to that one.
I will not continue the series, I don't really recommend this book to anyone. But to each their own.

This was such a fantastic story but then it’s a Kamryn Hart book do I need to say anymore?. I’m not going to give any spoilers because I don’t think that I will be able to stop myself, yes people it’s that good. I can’t wait for the next book Saving the Werewolves, I loved this sexy Reverse Harem there’s action, adventure, danger and love and so much more, plenty to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I loved Sorissa she was betrayed by the person she loved but it made her stronger, she was such an innocent with life and everyone loved her. I also loved the guys Caspian, Todd, Roderick and Aerre 4 sexy men and all in love with Sorissa, Caspian was the alpha of the group called the Phantom Fang’s. I loved this story and I know you will too a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Holy shit, do my ears deceive me? A well-written reverse harem romance?! The fem MC’s strength is seen and not just talked about, she’s ballsy (she literally threw herself from a moving vehicle in an attempt to escape (something I’ve, strangely, never come across in all of my romance books despite all the “strong” fem MCs out there). She’s missing a lot of info about the world but she’s cautious and reserved with most and keeps her head on straight during dangerous/stressful situations. She’s not turned into a mindless horn dog by sexual tension, and while her harem’s thoughts were almost entirely focused on her, they also kept their heads pretty well and avoided becoming mindless horn dogs. While the male MC’s were a little less emotionally fleshed out than the fem MC, I heard enough to like them all and be very curious about what happens next.

*Clap clap* NEXT!

I found this book to be intriguing & action-packed with a fantastic story-line & plot which is well thought out and written, it definitely keeps the reader’s interest and is a excellent start to a new series. The characters are well developed and interesting.
What you will find in this book is: werewolves, humans, vampires, a princess/werea (female werewolf), rebels, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, action, betrayal, danger, verbal conflict, defiance, independence, conflict/battle and sexual tension. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, even though it has a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading future books written by this author and really would recommend this book.

Paranormal war

This futuristic dystopian world takes place over 500 years in the future, after a really long war between humans, werewolves and vampire that almost decimated most of the world.
She was brought up by a witch in a forest, secluded and hidden from all. She is fierce and really strong, but also quite innocent from the ways of the world.
Her first encounter with her own kind is quite traumatic. But after she escapes she finds her mates and starts to question the world and how she can help.
This book doesn't have any spice, but there are battles, magic and much more.
The long titles were annoying and I feel the story could have flowed better.
Great narration.

3.5 stars. The book has serious potential. The world building was great, very well done and thought out. The execution of the story is where it lost me a bit. Some parts were cohesive and went well and other parts didn’t work. This book has different points of view which normally I can’t stand but I don’t mind it in this book, it’s the pieces between the action parts that are lacking.

Once she’s at Wolf bridge there’s just not enough story going on, it’s all about her and being with the phantom fangs. There needed to be more interaction with the king and the storyline of why she’s there. It felt like it was more the first 1/4 to a 1/2 of a book vs a whole book if that makes sense? It definitely has the bones and characters to be a 5 star, it just needs some buffing up and better flow.

This is an amazing start to the series! Once started, I just couldn't put it down. I love that Sorissa has a strong personality and a strong moral compass. She stands up for herself, others and what she believes in. The Phantom Fangs; Caspian, Todd, Aerre, and Rodrick, rescue her just in the nick of time and take her back home with them. Her troubles are by no means over!

I found this book amazing. It is action packed with a fantastic storyline and plot. It is definitely well thought out. An excellent start to this new series.

This is my first story by this Author but it won't be my last! I can't wait to see what happens next.

💕👍🐺 Unique!

This fantasy takes the werewolf and vampire myths and flips them on their heads, adding new rules set in a world on the brink of destruction. In this world, there is the typical lost princess, all is really as far from typical as you can get - and totally not what anyone was expecting. It was fun, original and highly entertaining!

First person, multiple POV, fantasy RH, Cliffhanger
MMMMF
Rating = R (but could be upper YA)
Character age range = 18+

Pros:
- World building.
- Undertones of our own political climate and lessons.
- sexism is real.
- Very refreshing and original.

Cons:
- Sometimes it was disjointed.

Taken by Werewolves

The book was fantastic. Sorisa was raised in the woods by a witch. She had never been out of them. The witch taught her to read and write. Finally, one day the witch said they could go out of the forest. What Sorissa didn't know was the witch had been in contact with a werewolf clan and they meet them when they came out of the woods. Sorisa didn't like them. But they took her to their castle, to the king and his son. You can read what happens next. It is great.

not what I was expecting

I wish the pacing was faster and it honestly was a bit of a confusing storyline to follow. Things were drawn out that didn’t need to be and then the end felt rushed.

I wish less time was spent on pondering if the double agent was going to make the right choice bc the conversations with his inner dialogue felt redundant. I would have liked to see more time of them each actually building a connection. More explanation on why the phantom prince is treated so different. A better explanation of the war. To hear the rest of the history.

This was a great start to a new series. I loved how the main characters are all so different, but compliment each other. I loved Sorissa; she is so innocent, and doesn't know about anything going on around her, but she is still strong and independent, and stands up for what she believes in. She really brings out the best in each one of the four guys. The ending was a huge surprise, and I can't wait to see what happens next. I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

Good book

This was a u liked this story. Sorissa didn't make stupid choices and was more then capable of taking care of herself. Even when she was in a bad situation she waited till she was was in a better position to get herself out. The men of the story were well developed and not just names on the page with no personality. I will definitely be reading the next book of the series.

Book 2 please!

Sorissa is just as perplexed as I am at how prejudiced people are. I love seeing a character truly confused by motives they’ve never seen before. It’s a different kind of spin to the usual species wars. Overall the guys are perfect for her in each of their own ways, but I feel like the Phantom Prince is going to have something g extra to bring to the table later. Great book!

This was a surprisingly good book for something I admittedly didn't expect much of. I actually really liked the world-building and what not. I did not like the casual racism in some of the writing (I don't think it was intentional, necessarily (or at least I'm optimistically hoping it wasn't), but it's clear someone wrote this without thinking of what the wording in certain portions could be interpreted as). I'm hoping that element dies down in future books, but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

The world building in this book is very good.
This is a new world for Sorissa, she has lived shielded with a witch for 18 years.
She is important because she is special.
I love that the author took the time to explore this world so that it is clear to the readers.
In principle, this first part is only a few days for the characters, I am very curious to see how the story continues after an exciting cliffhanger.

Tbh, I wish I had DNF this book. I was confused with the wording. I felt like the society aspect of it could have been explained a lot more. It was like we were just thrown in. The FMC is a little annoying with her not knowing simple things like guns and calling them hand cannons. Idk the MMCs sounded interesting but the plot and writing makes me not want to continue with this series. I literally had to push myself to read this.

Taken by the Werewolves has a slightly different take on the classic werewolf trope. The FMC has lived her entire life in the woods—until she’s suddenly given to the werewolves and discovers she’s a lost princess. Thrown into a world she never knew, she struggles to find her place as she’s passed from one clan to another.

This is just the beginning of her journey, and as book one, it sets the stage for what’s to come. I’m curious to see where her path leads next!
