I’m the Lost Princess of Howling Sky. Only a few days ago, I would have said that was crazy, that I’m just Sorissa. Now I’m living crazy. Everybody wants to use me for their own gain in the Prime War.
Except for Phantom Fangs, my werewolves.
I left with vampires to save their lives. Maybe the vampires intend to kill me, but I’m not that fragile. I'll survive, and I’ll keep my werewolves safe.
Kestra Pingree is a creative who doesn’t know how to stop. They are first and foremost a writer and storyteller with an endless library of books in their head just waiting to be typed. They are also an artist and animator, as well as a singer, songwriter, and voice actor. One day they swear they’re going to make their own video game, too.
If it involves creating, they are there.
They can also be seen cuddling their cat, reading, or playing video games.
Ok so I really liked this series but I really wish when the author put out the books in the description she would put that Further on there would be m/m as the book goes on. I am all for love in any way shape or form and sometimes dont mide reading it. Other times not so much. I just dont like when everything is not in the description. So I know if i would like to read it i just go lead on and wish I had know before jumping in to it.
This is the 2nd in the series of 3 and it really ties in a bunch that happened In the first book. Spoiler... She finally gets a chance to mate to 2 of her 4 guys in this book. But her claims on all 4 hold strong. I did not see what happened towards the end coming but it all made sense Now to wait for the 3rd to come out and see what will happen with the other pack and the vampires as well
I would have loved this book but the author lost me with the constant repetition of the fact that the central , had curly hair and ebony skin! I get it. It didn't change the plot. I loved the characters. I was on board, but don't ruin the entire story by pushing ethnicity down the readers throat. I decided not to read the next book.
This book gets even better. Caspian ends up challenging his father for the throne. Soresses has a dream that they need to go to where she was born to train. They go there and meet up with the witch that raised Soresses. She trains them to join their powers so that Caspian can defeat his father without killing him.
This was better than the first book! I still like this story line. It's such a unique way to tell about werewolves that we haven't heard yet! I love it! Can't wait until October for book 3!
Good story to go along with the sex. This is what I want from an author. I want a story that can stand on its own and the sex just adds to it and you want more. Characters are evolving. Good read.
This is a good series. It has likable characters and a good plot. It could be a little more steamy and there are parts that just drone on but it's worth the read.
Taking the werewolf myth, along with the vampire tropes, and twisting them to the left, this story emerges as an interesting tale, albeit one with predictable facets. It’s an RH, and while somewhat steamy, that isn’t the crux of the tale - no, that comes down to changing, but just saving, the world, known as Prime. There is plenty of hate, discord and confusion - and a lost princess who was raised far away from its influence. Because, of course there is a lost princess, lol! Like I said, familiar elements, but decently put together.
I noticed some of the other reviews complain about M/M.... cough, cough. A kiss to exchange power ya not M/M, though I can see brewing emotions on the horizon. So what? But to each their own. Second point, why are there so few reviews? My only guess is that this was NOT a KU book for a time, but it is now? 🤷♀️
First person, multiple POV, Slow burn RH fantasy. Pseudo Cliff. Rating = R (adult) MMMMF Character age range = 18+
Pros: - Very Interesting World building - Characters al have their own issues and weaknesses, which is nice. - Return of the witch
Cons: - A bit trite and tropey. - The flow isn’t quite right. The elements are there, but somehow our together in a slightly stunted fashion.
This book was meh, it just lacked any inertia or urgency. There was no building tension or alleviating tension. There was just talking. Lots and lots of talking. All the MC’s thoughts and actions were very superficial, if the first book in a series is light on character development, the second book is where I expect to get more of a deep dive into character motivations, but that didn’t happen. In fact, I think everyone’s motivations got more simplistic. Protect each other, in the broadest possible sense, try not to kill the king (for the king’s son), and protect my blood family (for the tethered were). That’s it. I don’t think we needed a 9 hour audiobook to cover that. If this was a short story it would have been amazing, but as it was, everything was so dragged out that nothing felt pressing.
Also with the alpha fight why couldn’t the male MC have discussed his plan to with her beforehand? As it was, the scene felt very jumbled and impromptu. Even if in the moment, he decided he was not worthy, why not have a moment where he thinks so, and comes up with the plan on the fly. We see from every MC’s perspective (which I don’t think is necessary as, like I said, they have very little going on in their minds), so why not add his reasoning into the inner monologue?
I’m just not as invested in the story as I was with the first book. The first book started off so good.
This is a great follow up to the first part of the series. It gave more inside to Sorrisa’s past and how the new claim with the guys works. It would have been nice to see a little more fight from the vampires but it flowed well. It continues with superior world and character building.
3,5 ⭐️ This one she realises who she is meant to be. Sees and gets help from her witch mother. She solidifies her bonds and get some interesting sexy times. There are battles, training, magic and plans for the future. All happens very fast. Totally agree with the “born sexy yesterday” comment someone made here. Great narration.
This second book in the series picks up at a wonderful pace where we left off in the first book. It is a unique world in which we discover new things with Sorissa and her men. To actually change the world, they will have to take the lead themselves. This world is beautifully described, exciting and emotional. Sorissa is a Werea who is special and that is increasingly visible in this book.
Honest moment, I'm not sure how I feel about Sorissa. The last book ended on such a cliff hanger and I couldn't wait to read more. For some reason though this book didn't holds my attention as much as the last did. It was okay, but the pace of the story definitely slowed.
Book one of this series ended on a cliff hanger so I immediately picked this one after. I love this world and I love the storyline. I mean you are getting some spice but I feel like the spice/story ratios is very well balanced. I'm a sucker for a free the people movement. I like how strong and independent the female main character is. And she never lets anyone make her feel less than.
