Ben’s not in any hurry to fall in love. Sure…he misses the passion and the sweet caress of someone special in his life, but after freeing himself from his last mistake of a boyfriend, it’s time to reevaluate his choices. Adrian keeps the men in his life at arm’s length…it’s safer for everyone. Casual hookups without emotional entanglements are his specialty, and the guy sitting next to him looks to be perfect for the job. A freebie on Amazon and my first book by this author.
Overall I enjoyed the writing but I kind of wanted more. The insta-lust and insta-love bothered me, as always. We also get a super jealous ex boyfriend, who wants a second chance but was super aggressive in the past. It was interesting to have his point of view here. So in this story we have 3 POV, some action, just a little angst and a very very sweet HEA!

This is another one of Claire Thompson's vanilla MM romance. It's a lovely story with a bit of dark running through it.

Ben has recently gotten out of a relationship with his abusive ex, Carl, when he has to go to a wedding and he meets Adrian, an underwear model/actor/photographer.

I really loved the chemistry in between Ben and Adrian. I loved that they took things a little slowly in the beginning, especially since Ben had recently gotten out of his relationship with Carl. There had been time in between Carl and Ben breaking up and Ben and Adrian meeting, so there was time for Ben to mostly get over Carl, but I still liked that little bit of time they took before anything else.

Like any other Claire Thompson story, there's more than just the love story. There's a deeper story of acceptance that runs through the story, which is quite lovely.

3 and 1/2 Stars. This was kind of a simple story that I enjoyed ,but didn’t love. The ending was so sweet that it had me crying tears of joy. That knocked it up 1/2 star.

I just finished wiping my eyes after finishing this amazingly moving story of finding the right one. The one who can finish your sentences, who knows when you need a hug, who can feel your pain and the one who can make all the wrongs right in your world. This story speaks to your soul and mends the tears in your heart. We should all have a Ben or Adrian in our life. Kudos Ms. Thompson and well done.

I read and voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This was a wonderfully written, but complex, story about three men whose lives become explicitly interlinked because of their actions where love is involved. The various twists and turns make for a very intriguing plot and this is certainly a book I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Ben and Carl had been together for six months. Carl had a dangerous edge to him that Ben found exciting, but it was Carl’s lack of trust, his possessiveness and anger issues that finally ends their relationship; it had taken Ben a while to realize how manipulative and controlling Carl could be. Carl didn’t handle the break-up well, but Ben would not stay away from friends and life events just to avoid an ex-lover; he is done letting Carl control his life. While Ben didn’t miss Carl, he did miss the closeness and friendship of a relationship, but most of all he missed being in love. It is at Tom and David’s wedding that Ben meets Adrian, a model and actor. Ben had heard of love at first sight, but could it possibly be real. Carl is not prepared to let Ben go; he would bide his time and win him back. One way or another, Ben would belong to him again. It was time for Carl to do some reconnaissance, so he knew what he was up against; Carl would need to prove to Ben that Adrian wasn’t worthy. Ben has no intention of giving Carl the slightest opportunity to discuss the past or any hope that they could somehow reconcile, but agrees to see Carl against his better instincts. If Ben didn’t know firsthand what a master manipulator Carl could be, he would actually feel sorry for him. But things don’t go according to plan for Carl. He has deluded himself into thinking Ben might have missed him and might want to reconcile. Ben no longer loved Carl, so why should he be shielded from the harsh truth about the man he was with. Carl wasn’t done with Ben yet; there would be a cost to pay for crossing him. Ben has no intention of letting Carl get between him and Adrian, and all his attempts only serve to strengthen their relationship. Ben and Adrian were falling in love; they would not let anything in their past come between them. The two shared something that Carl apparently had no concept of and that was love and trust. All his life Adrian has been incapable of staying in a committed relationship because of his self-destructive ways. When Adrian is once again tested, he only has to think of Ben. This time he is strong, knowing he doesn’t have to be defined by his past; all because of Ben’s strength and love. One final attempt by Carl to come between Ben and Adrian has consequences that Carl may never recover from. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

”I carry your heart with me in my heart.
I am never without it. Anywhere I go, you are with me.
You are my fate—I want no other.
You are my world—I want no other.
You are whatever the moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing.
And here is the deepest secret nobody knows. Here is the root of the root, the bud of the bud, the sky of the sky of a tree called life, which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide.
This is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart.
It is you, my love. I carry you forever in my heart.”

e.e. cummings

He's Mine became, unexpectedly, quite the read.

With Ben & Adrian meeting at the wedding of mutual friends, they hit if off immediately.
Ben, who is still recovering from the break up of a bad and controlling relationship, is not looking for a new one, albeit he does miss the companionship.
Adrian too is not in the market for anything more that a hook-up but the men do feel an undeniable attraction towards each other and start spending a lot of time.

In all the bliss of the new, of getting to know each other and falling in love is Ben's scheming ex, Carl.

This is a story of surmounting your past, accepting & loving yourself but also standing up for yourself. Embracing who you are and not hiding anymore.

Ben just left a bad relationship and is not ready to start another. He does miss the intimacy of sleeping and cuddling with someone but decides it is time to evaluate his life. All that changes when an amazing young man sits next to him at a wedding. Adrian prefers to keep his relationship casual and avoid any kind of committment, but he finds himself drawn to Ben and soon the two are together constantly.

Each man has a past that would not as yet let them go. Ben's ex refuses to let him go and his actions become increasingly irrational and violent. Adrian's past is filled with pain and affects him still, preventing him from having healthy relationships. Each man brings some issues to the relationship but together they can work through everything.

He's Mine turned out to be an incredibly romantic book. Ben's and Adrian's love for each other was so strong they survived some heavy issues and it was together that they worked through them all. Ben's ex played psychological games but love kept Ben and Adrian from falling for his attempts at ruining their relationship. Adrian's past left him with nightmares that with Ben's help he finally worked through. The ending is incredible and will tug at your heart strings. He's Mine is the perfect book for all of us who adore MM Romance. Claire Thompson is on my auto buy list and will be on yours as well after reading He's Mine.

“He’s Mine” by Claire Thompson is a contemporary gay romance that centers around Benjamin (Ben) Samuel Richman and Adrian Charles Taylor. Ben has escaped an abusive relationship and Adrian is still dealing with his own horrific past but somehow they form a connection that intensifies with every passing day. Then the past comes back to haunt them.

This is a story that contrasts the euphoria of a mutual attraction with the nightmare of coping with obsession and violence as well as the challenge of atonement for one’s past mistakes. Those who are concerned with such things should be aware that there are three points of view presented, and those with triggers should use caution if bothered by a bit of violence or the tragic results of driving under the influence. I like the full circle nature of the story and the heat between the two main characters, but wasn’t quite sure I made a connection with either of them. I think that things were a bit compressed, especially with respect to Ben’s family, so some of the following events didn’t quite feel believable to me, but the overall story is entertaining and heartwarming and I look forward to more tales from this prolific author.

Ben and Adrian were perfect together! Seemingly complete opposites, their attraction was immediate, but the story isn't just about two hot guys getting it on, it is about how they are better together. Ben had an awful relationship, but he found his way out. Trouble is, buddy is a clinger, in a really bad and dangerous way. Adrian seemingly has everything together, but things lie beneath the surface that affect his life in ways he doesn't realize. Ben has support in ways Adrian wishes he did. Adrian has confidence in ways Ben wishes he did. The accountant and the model/actor have it all together in the bedroom, but as they figure things out in the world, they realize their chemistry and cohesion work in all aspects of their lives

This story starts out as a supposed: guy meets guy, they fall in love and live happily ever after.
But right from the beginning there is the hint of a nasty undertow.
When the ex-lover of one of the guys begins meddling in their relationship, things slowly start to get more sinister. Painful secrets are revealed, family dynamics come into play, but there are also friends that give them backing. During all that the two main characters grow ever closer, their lovemaking is furious and sweet and insatiable.
And then the unthinkable happens!
Hmm? No! Not telling!
Find out if they get their HEA or not!

Authentic connection

4.5☆
An undeniable spark hits Ben and Adrian while at the wedding of mutual friends but they choose to become friends and get to know one another first - despite how very tempting it is to give in.
Their connection feels genuine to readers and brings out many emotions as they go from first meeting to friends, lovers, in love, and through to their satisfyingly HEA.
Both men have some angst in their lives - nasty ex, unaccepting family, career - but together their lives are so much better with laughs, understanding, steamy sexy times, support, and an authentic connection.

I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book. This is not a typical genre for me to read, but, Claire Thompson is such an exceptional writer, in my book, that I did read out of my typical genre. This book takes the reader on an emotional journey. Ben and Adrian's relationship, beginning from a wedding, has its ups and downs. Mostly ups. Love does help shoulder all things, good and bad. Toward the end of the book, I shed several tears. You will just have to read this book to find out if they were tears of joy, or tears of sadness.

Follow Ben's and Adrian's journey of finding true love.  You know an author has done her job well when the story line pulls at all your emotions.  This story does just that.  It's different from traditional love stories.  Featuring two men that triumph through the difficulties that are thrown at them.   There are twists and turns with some bumps in the road, but has a feel good ending. Claire Thompson has woven an amazing story.  Just like she has done with her other books. Don't miss out, buy this book today.  You won't be disappointed.

A new MM book by Claire Thompson. This book is a little bit different then her other books since there are no BDSM elements.

It is a wonderful book and once I started reading I kept on reading until the book was finished.
It is the story of Ben and Adrian. What I loved most about the book was how it showed their relationship from the first glance and how it evolved over time. There is also an insight into their families and how each of them dealt with having a son who is gay. There are also secrets, doubts, temptations and exes to deal with.

It shows a modern relationship.

This was a very different Claire Thompson book, the tone and style seemed different and there was no BDSM, just sweet romance. Adrian and Ben come from very different backgrounds but when they meet at a wedding it is instalove. They both have their demons but through their love and understanding they overcome them and support each other. There is an ironic twist that helps them be free but it is their love for each other that ultimately wins everyone's heart.

Wonderful Characters

Ben and Adrian are wonderful characters. They are well developed. Any angst is believable. Carl, the bad guy, is very bad. The writing is inconsistent, sometimes quite good, sometimes underdeveloped. The m/m shenanigans are written a lot like bodice rippers with "sweet cream" for a bodily fluid that isn't, or "long, thick" on a guy asleep. So, there's room for improvement, but the story was interesting. 3.5 stars

Very realistic

That's what I liked about this story. Families dynamics, self destructive toward relationships, to backing away to a potential hostile partner. Not so perfect pasts and both have demons needing to be exercised. Also karma( re:Carl), how true is "what comes around goes around", and "don't judge a person till you have walked in their shoes". Adrian and Ben walk through these pitfalls hand in hand to save their love.

4.4 stars: budding romance plus a villain

Thompson presents a couple in New York City who meet at mutual friends' wedding. Ben the research analyst has just ended a manipulative relationship with Carl, and begins to fall for actor-model Adrian. Chapters are episodes in their lives, families and past history get explored. Real life intervenes. Thompson cleverly rounds the circle as she offers a beautiful HEA wedding.

Loved it! I love a good m/m romance. Steamy scenes included. The main characters in this story are not your normal Uber rich type which was refreshing. They both work, find time to spend together, then of course your the scorned ex who causes issues. Overall, a great standalone with no cliffhangers! Highly recommend.

Loved this beautiful story of hurt and love. So romantic. Loved that they did not do the stereotypical things one would see in the movies etc when something like this happens (trying not to give anything away). Loved that love triumphed. Different from my usual Sue Lyndon reads but I enjoyed it immensely

Love between Ben and Adrian.
Love between brothers.
Love in the family.
Love is the word. I loved this story, with all the hick-ups on the way.

This book was absolutely amazing. This was one of the best MM books that I have read on awhile. Each character is so complex that you just have to read to see what will happen next. I would definitely recommend this book. It may bring years to your eyes.

Another great book by Claire Thompson. This book has a great storyline with great male characters. The connection and chemistry by the 2 men in this relationship is strong and amazing. The drama anc suspense by the ex kept me wanting to read the book. The sex scenes too are so hot!!

Ok read

I would have enjoyed the book more if I didn't have to flick through so many sex scenes. There were just too many. It felt like the story was secondary.

However, if you love lots a sex in your books then this will be your next 5 star read.
