This one was just OK. I didn't particularly enjoy the "Carrie" situation. It would have been better if they had just been friends and not had dated (and I assume slept together). I also found Annika a bit of an over the top Eeyore. And I NEVER buy the whole "I have always loved you," but he did NOTHING for fifteen years to get you back? No phone calls...nothing? All the while sleeping with other women (although to be fair, he didn't seem like a manhoe...so there is that). I dunno...it just didn't work for me.
It’s been awhile since I read a regular romance novel. This one was so cute and sweet. It was so good with an unexpected twist. The main characters had great chemistry. You feel the love and draw between them coming off the page. Loved how everything so worked for Jesse and Anna.
.....Annika... shes divorced said been hurt many times by men.. but she's jealous of her ex husband and him dating.. then she's jealous of her first love Jesse and idk his assistant?? took him 9 CHAPTERS TO GET THE PICTURE!!! 9 chapters then he told her (cuz be must be dumb) that carrie was his assistant... like.. she kept pushing him away cuz she thoughg he was taken.. also.. he was taken advice from her dead daughter.. who he didnt know was dead...
Like... this just wasnt for me.. i know its suppose to be heartbreaking.. but.. ugh ut annoyed me
There is a wide range of emotions in REKINDLING CHRISTMAS, where feelings and heartfelt desires are expressed with much genuineness. The story takes place during a special time of the year, and the magic of the season is depicted with stirring episodes. I was really caught up in every situation that occurred, and whether the moment induced laughs or touched my heart, each event was very believable. Rebekah R. Ganiere has created a wonderful holiday romance with particularly appealing characters and conceivable circumstances.
With his professional football career over because of an injury, Jesse Winchester has returned to his hometown and will be coaching at the college which he previously attended. When he happens to see Annika Marshall, both remember their relationship before he decided playing a sport was more important than being with her. She has moved on and even has a son, and during the fifteen years that they were apart, she has learned men are never trustworthy. Yet Jesse wants to discover if the spark between him and Annika is still there.
When I finished reading REKINDLING CHRISTMAS, I just had to smile because of how good I felt. The story is filled with lots of positive emotions, and even some surprising turns that made the book more fascinating. Jesse and Annika are spirited characters whose responses made me care about them and hope for happier times ahead. I always enjoy seasonal stories, and Rebekah R. Ganiere has definitely made her delightful romance memorable.
Anika and Jesse used to be engaged until he made it to the big times in the NFL. He left her behind and later on got hurt. While he was away, she got married and had children. Jesse comes back after 15 years and a hurt knee that did not allow him to play professional football anymore. He runs into Annika first thing and discovers she is a divorced mother. Anika meets the woman that is always around Jesse, her name is Cassie. It seems as if Jesse wants to rekindle what they had…but she does not get involved with someone taken. Both Jesse and Anika relive the past and their love is once in a lifetime. How can they be together though when Jesse has another female? What was once a tragedy in Annika’s life turns out to be the blessing they both need to fulfill their wildest fantasies and love. This book is a heartwarming love story with just a touch of paranormal added in. It is a fast-paced read, and contains romantic, endearing, and lovable characters. I absolutely loved the story, characters and the twists added! Rebekah Ganiere proves once again a flawless writer that can write a great book in any genre! I received this book for free and am leaving a voluntary review. Trust me you will not want to miss this one!
Young love is broken when Jesse leaves to join the NFL. Annika tries to move on, gets married, but that ends in divorce and raising her young son in a townhouse. Fifteen long years later, Jesse is hurt badly enough to end his career, and come back to complete his college education – at the same college Annika teaches.
Annika has had her heart broken by multiple people, but the worst by Jesse; Even now in his thirties Jesse still had the same effect on girls he always had. Whenever he strolled into a room they primped, and smiled, and giggled. She’d been content to stand at his side and let them look knowing at the end of the day his heart belonged to her, and she was the one he went home with. She’d opened herself up to him in ways she never had before, or since. Annika swallowed hard. And the way she never would again either.
Son TJ is routing for Jesse – as he wants his mom to be happy. A young blond girl keeps giving Jesse advice at important crossroads. Will this be enough to win back Annika’s heart?
Emotional, heart-wrenching and beautiful story of love and redemption.

REKINDLING CHRISTMAS is a stand-alone paranormal romance set in small town Colorado during the Christmas season.
A heart-warming reminder that the holidays may not be a time of joy for everyone, but they are a time for miracles. Miracles lead to joy.
I loved this story of second chances. I loved that the children were playing matchmakers for her. Annika tried her hardest to deny her feelings, but true love cannot be refused no matter what else is hurting your heart.
The ending still has me smiling… a happy, happy, ever after to all!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: REKINDLING CHRISTMAS Series: N/A Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance; Christmas Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Rebekah R. Ganiere (as an ARC gifted copy)
No sooner had Jesse set foot in his old college town than her ran into the reason for his return. Annika and Jesse had been engaged when he got an offer from the NFL. Jesse left town to pursue his football dreams and Annika finished her degree and went on to teach at the same college. Fifteen years later, Jesse is retired from football and realizes what he missed out on: the family he always wanted with Anna.
Anna resists his advances. She’s been hurt badly by Jesse’s departure and by other men. If Jesse wants to win her back, he’s got a long road ahead of him. Fortunately he has some allies: Anna’s son T. J and a little blond girl who keeps popping up with advice.
This book Rebekah Ganiere’s first contemporary romance. She does a great job. The characters are deep and the conversation is snappy. An enjoyable read.
I usually read Rebekah Shifter stories so this was something different for me and I enjoyed it thoroughly note to self stop living within a box time to spread your wings
Annika was devastated when Jesse walked away from her to play NFL now he is back with an injury and he wants to make it up to her. He has finally realised what he walked away from but will she give him another chance. This is a wonderful second chance romance that draws you in by half way through the story you re hoping that Grant will get Annika to forgive him and for them to get their HEA,
I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review
Oh my stars!!!! I absolutely love, love, loved this book! I'm a fan of Rebekah's writing anyway, but this was so different from her other books that while I was curious and looking forward to reading I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but any expectations were completely blown out of the water!!! 😍😍😍
Jesse is a pretty down to earth guy, even with his fame, who has returned to a town with special memories for him. Annika is a single mom who has taken some tough knocks over the years, and is having a hard time this holiday season. With a little help, and a bit of Christmas magic, just maybe Jesse and Annika will be able to find some happiness this year.
Coming right up….one Christmas spirit to put the past behind
He asked her to marry him and week later he headed out for fame on a field of green, seemingly to have forgotten about her and their love. It would take an injury he couldn’t recover from and fifteen years to bring them face to face again. Would it also continue there love story? Christmas is a special time when the magic for the love of humanity can bring happiness, but this time it will take the assistance a couple of kids to bring everyone together again. An enjoyable, romantic tale with characters that make it on there own, but may need to put the past behind them to make life even better.
Annika is a single mom with a great career. Things are going just fine and suddenly her first love is back in town. Jesse had a great NFL run until he injured his knee. Now taking a position as a coach at his old college seems like a great idea. Just a bit surprised to see his Anna his first week, and very determined to get her back after all these years. I loved this story. Anna and Jesse are wonderful together, but miscommunications seem to keep getting in their way. TJ is a wonderful little boy and I cried more than once reading this.
Second chance romance. Hero left the heroine when they were younger to pursue his career, only thing I'd say is they were engaged so leaving was a big deal, she had future plans all revolving around him then basically gets dumped. During the separation the Hero dates and the heroine gets married, divorced and is now a single parent. No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine. No cheating. The Hero has a 'friend' with him which causes issues for them. No ex drama. HEA. Paranormal element, Christmas season themed.
This is a delightful, second-chance novella where you think you know the story, but you really don't. Jesse has returned to his college town as an injured sports celebrity, determined to do some good and win back the woman he stupidly walked away from many years ago. She resists, but with help from a surprising source, Jesse begins to make progress. If you want to read a book in one sitting and smile when you finish, this is the one.
A cute sweet holiday second chance romance. Poor Annika, she has been through a lot and just wants to make it through Christmas. Now she has to try and avoid her ex, Jesse. Annika resists Jesse after he decided he wanted her back, but he persists. You will have to read it to see how he wins her over, you have to read it. I highly recommend you read this heartwarming second chance story. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this story! I could relate to the FMC and how traumatised and grief stricken she was (and how she had built walls up to keep herself safe). I loved the charming MMC and how he worked so hard to make things up to the FMC after such a long time apart. My favourite characters were TJ and Lizzy. There’s elements of humour throughout which helped balance out the more emotional aspects of the story. Overall, a wonderful story -highly recommend!
What a wonderful story. Jesse was back in town after hurting his knee playing NFL football. Annika wasn't sure she could forgive him for just leaving her when he left. The story about Lizzy was heartbreaking but so sweet. This story truly was a 2nd chance love story that I will reread often. Thank you for this beautiful story.
This is a fab Christmas story. Well written it is heartwarming and heartbreaking all in one tale yet you are left with that warm fuzzy feeling inside when you are finished. I loved the characters especially TJ and yes I laughed in places and yes I also shed a few tears but this i would definitely recommend!
This was a second chance at love. They were college sweethearts, engaged to be married. But he left her and went NFL stardom. Now fifteen years later he is back. His career is gone. She moved on for married, became a mom, then divorced. Can he break down her barriers and get her to believe in him again? Miracles do happen at Christmas time.
I love Christmas stories and this one was no exception. Perfect romance, perfect family, perfect conflict. Oooh, boy was that conflict strong. So was the attraction between Annika and Jesse. And lots of emotion. It’s only a few days until Christmas and this book left me with a great sense of wonder and peace.
A sweet romance about getting a second chance with a lost love. Jesse returns to the town he left fifteen years earlier and discovers Anna never left there. With the help of her young son and a little girl who pops up at random times Jesse chips away at the wall Anna built around herself. A nice quick read for the holidays.
I love this book. Such a heartwarming story and so well written. I enjoyed watching Jesse and Annika reconnect and realize they belonged together. I love how TJ and Lizzie help orchestrate their reconnection during Christmas which has tragic memories for Annika.
Rebels has really done it with this novel. It contains romance, suspense, and some surprising revelations. This novel is well.written and holds the reader's imagination throughout. Enjoy it!
This was a sweet, cute read with a little twist that I wasnt expecting. I started reading this book yesterday and didnt put it down until I finished. I love when a second chance romance works out for everyone.
Dealing with loss is always hard, but especially at the holiday season when joy, not sorrow, is the prevailing emotion. This charming, funny, tender, and emotional tale is a perfect story for any romantic.
