For many years, he split his time between living in both the Colorado mountains and the Texas Hill Country and led numerous trips to Mexico's Copper Canyon, Bolivia and various backcountry areas of the western U.S. Is an avid mountaineer, longtime mountain bike racer, backpacker and advocate for wild places who's shared his passions for all of the above with many for years.
I received this book in a giveaway and as an avid outdoor lover myself was looking forward to reading it. I found the style of writing to be eloquent of his surroundings and of events. I wish the book though had been a bit more organized, maybe even divided by locations or type of adventure such as biking, snow, etc. The tales were ones that would be great to be heard sitting around a fire at night as we all exchange our stories. I was hoping for possibly some insight to some of these areas, a little more in depth possible. His writing is definitely up to that task, just felt a little more direction would have made another star.
I really enjoyed each of the hiking adventures. Really felt like I was there😁Just wish the stories could have had dates and been in a sort of timeline, maybe chronological.
What a magnificent read!!! I loved reading David’s thought processes and seeing his ever-present wit and humor in all his different adventures. David is an expert wilderness leader and has a marvelous writing style. Combine those two talents, and you have a book i enjoyed so much that I’ll definitely read a second time and will be recommending to friends. Hope we see a volume 2 soon!
