With a degree in accounting, I set out to conquer my quiet little corner of the world. My plan was to work for a major accounting firm and live a comfortable life. One never knows where fate will lead. I soon discovered I liked taking chances and started acquiring small parcels of land to resale. Within a year, I found myself immersed in the fun of land brokering. My native state, Texas, is a wide-open community of wonderful people and vast amounts of land. Opportunities in Texas are limitless. Texas and the fact that I am a workaholic were the perfect recipe for success. I have visited every state in the U.S. and lived in some, but Texas is always the one that calls me home. I thought I had the world by the tail; a nice little ranch that bordered a Texas lake, a horse and a few head of cattle. Life was good. Then I met a woman and life was no longer good, it was amazing. Now my life is an adventure of love and laughter. My partner encouraged me to begin writing. I published my first book in 2014 and have been successful in the Mystery/Suspense genre. Too Strong to Die is my first gay book. I am proud to say that after one week, on 2/1/2017, it is the #1 (Paid) Lesbian book on Amazon. Thank you so much for making it happen. Please let me hear from you. Should I continue writing for our community or stick with my Mystery/Suspense books?
One of the things I like about Erin Wade’s books is one that should annoy me: they’re often over the top. Too much is happening, there’s too much drama. But the way the stories are told makes it okay. With so much happening, Wade’s books are never boring, they’re action-packed page-turners and this one is no exception. Very entertaining and enjoyable.
I won't go into the story because there is so much to tell that I don't know where to start. The author takes you right to the edge of your seat. It was frightening to see what the world of prison is like for women. The struggles of being a woman inside prison walls was gripping and very emotional. The story is fast-moving, a lot is going on. It has an outstanding cast of characters, an intriguing plot and the love between the two women touched my heart. Erin Wade outdid herself again and I had a hard time putting it down. I highly recommend it. It is a guaranteed page-Turner.
I loved Wrongly Accused. What a great read. Yes, it’s always hard to read about women in prison and their mistreatment. But at least with this book we had a bit of mystery and a happy ending.
I didn't know what to expect exactly, but it certainly wasn't this.
I know this one is over 5 years old, but the premise caught my attention and even though I could write many reasons why I didn't love it, I rather say I actually enjoyed it, because I did.
But I warn y'all coming in late to the party, if you don't like OTT stories that aren't very accurate, especially with the timeline, you should skip it.
The pace is rather slow at first and got me wondering where this was going, then all hell broke loose and things started to happen a lot more and way more dramatically, which made the reading way more amusing.
*SPOILER. The book is worth the read for those who read reviews before the book*
I discovered this book less than 24 hours from the time of this review. At first, I thought I'd read the sample I downloaded and buy it at a later date. I never thought I'd buy it and finish it in the same day lol. I loved the two MCs and the development of their relationship. My favorite part, though, the emotional rollercoaster Valerie's character put me through. She was the perfect villain in disguise. Twice I was convinced she was innocent. A little delusional, but innocent nonetheless.
I believe this may be the best book I've ever read that's been written by Ms. Wade! I still wasn't sure who was the bad guy till the very end of the book! She kept me guessing every step of the way. I figured it would get boring and repetitive around halfway through the middle of the book, but Erin does a one-eighty. Hats off to you Ms. Wade, I loved it and hope you are planning a sequel to fill us in on how Dawn and Nick I are "settling in" to married life!
Dr. Dawn Fairchild is wrongly convicted of vehicular manslaughter although her former fiancée had been driving but ran away. Imprisoned at the Carswell Women’s Prison she is saved by a petite redhead who has been beaten and raped and assaulted. She is put to work in the prison hospital and Niki becomes her nurse. A story of survival and growing love in the worse conditions.
This author know how to write a story. She will have you on pins and needles right up until the end. I loved reading about Dawn and Nikki, I just knew Ms. Wade wouldn't put them through all of that without a happy ending. It was the read. Thank you to the author amazing work.
This is one hell of a story so many twists and turns, there are quite a few characters all incredibly well written. Underneath it all is a wonderful love story between to very unlikely women who complement each other.Well worh the long read
Erin Wade can always be counted on for engaging characters, exciting plots and thrilling moments that keep the pages turning so that sleep becomes a missed event. Her writing also brings to mind conditions we would rather forget but absolutely shouldn’t.
This book blew the lid off intrigue and offered a wonderful whodunnit. I learned a lot about prison life for women too and about being careful to stay on the right side of the law.
