In the words of Burt Ward: Holy Nightmare, Batman.
The Joker is sick, a psychopath in the truest form and Snyder penned all this depravity in a gruesomely poetic form.
Am I horrified?
Sure am.
Did I love every damn second?
Of course, I did.
Am I picking up part two as soon as this review is written?
Well yeah.
Death of the Family is clearly one of the most well-known Batman stories and for good reason, it's not just the Joker's villainy however that turns your stomach just as ready as it keeps you on the edge of your seat, but how fleshed out the characters are. Harley brought me to tears when she pined for Mr. J and the soft plea of Catwoman, wanting Batman to save her and the realization that maybe this time she needed to save him, seriously punched me right in the feels.
It's glorious from the first word to the final illustrations, I've said it once and I'll say it again, I adore Snyder and this whole Eglemoss collection.
Ok, that's enough rambling, reading part two, right now.

This was so much fun to read, very gory, funny, and entertaining. It was interesting to see how each of Batman's family members are so heavily affected by the Joker's psychological warfare. This was the best comic I think I could've read as my first DC comic.

The main story was good but the catwomen chapters were meh & the Nightwing chapter was okay bringing this volume down from my usual glowing love of Batman.
