A solid 2.5 stars. This book is definitely fantasy. Also editing was bad. Lots of just missing words. You are reading a sentence about where the characters are going..... Then there is no word! You have no clue where they are. This happened multiple times throughout the story.

Read other books from this author in the future:

I thought the first book of the series Lake Emerald Chronicles was quite amusing. But the second part doesn't come close to that. First of all it needs a thorough revision, because many sentences are incomplete and there are generally many mistakes in the text, so that the reading pleasure is clearly clouded.
Then I found the content quite boring. It's about Joel, Xander and Logan moving together with Xander's mother to Clary's neighboring house. Then it's about a lot of R-rated experiments the teenagers do. Only the end is suddenly exciting, because secrets of the parents come to light, which nobody had expected. On the other hand, the drama about the school break-ins was very transparent.
I would have simply expected more from this part. Too bad!

Deutsche Rezension:
Schade!

Amazing!! !

Melissa Adams once again did not disappoint in this Second book of the Lake Emerald Chronicles!! The story that she weaves in this book while having a different feeling from her first, does not leave the reader nothing but wanting more! While some of the topics in this one may be hard to read about, Melissa has written about all of it wonderfully, and allows the reader to feel as though as right there with all her characters as every is going on! Absolutely loved it!!! Now on to Book Three!

A fantastic read. More character development, more medium burn, and a few twists at the end. I love Clary - it's refreshing to have a teenage girl who may be innocent, but isn't afraid to try something out of her comfort zone. I also appreciate the communication all the characters have with each other when it comes to sex, dealing with emotions, and later on with their parent(s). Another thing I like is that none of the characters have experienced abuse, torture, neglect. They've had to deal with various traumas - loss of a loved one, cheating parent, divorce - but they all have had love of family in one form or another. In this book, we get to meet 2 new additions and they both add to the story. Well done, Melissa Adams, very well done! I highly recommend this book.

The second book in the series, I found myself becoming more vested in the characters. There are some fun twists, suspense, and the romance is steamy. This book drew me in, and held my interest. I'm looking forward to where the story will go next!!

Clary and the boys story carries on, camp is over and Clary is stuck at home with her overprotective mother and miles away from her boys. Packed full of drama and excitement this is such a great read, well written with great characters who I feel very invested in, some new faces the story continues on at a great pace, I cannot wait to read book three!

This series keeps getting better and better....

SOME SMALL SPOILERS!!!

Very few authors in my opinion have been able to out do themselves on the second book of a series in my opinion. In fact, I have only found 6... Melissa is lucky number 7!
Now to the meat of my review...
What the HELL is wrong with Clary's mom? After what was revealed about her you'd think she would be the first person to support Clary and the boys but was she?
No! She was her usual condescending B of a self.
AS TO PRIVATE DIP SH**... can he be more of an immature selfish brat? Clear and her boys were right in their reaction to this. He needs to go fill out his ID 10 T form quickly.
However there is a new guy on the scene whose name is Preston. He is cool and has known Cleary for years. I think he is falling in love with her because of what he does for her in the book. He literally changed slowly from a jerk to a true friend. That doesn't mean he didnt learn his actions don't have consequences.
And HOLY COW!!! The understory of the condoms and why they were messed with!!! The onlyest thing I will say about that is Alyssa is a psycho Bi***!!!
Overall the story was great and the character and world development was even stronger than the first. I so can't wait for the third book!!!

I'm not sure

I am really on the fence about the series. I like the plot and the characters, but there are multiple occasions where I'm bothered by the actions and stupidity of the characters. Yes, the FMC is only 17, she mostly acts more mature, but thinks she got pregnant without doing the deed. It's a bit too farfetched, especially given the plot and the extra education the school is supposedly giving due to circumstances. (Trying not to spoil too much here)

I feel like the character development is a little inconsistent. They have a huge fight and while Clary was running after the boys to talk about things beforehand, she just gives up. And why is Austin even an option? He was never a worthy candidate, so I'm not sure why he keeps popping up in the plot 😂 Gimme Preston! 😁

Escapism At It's Finest

I very much enjoyed this book for what it is, escapism. It isn't very realistic but that is what makes fiction books so much fun to read. I love the devotion of the guys and Clary is a great lead. There are still a lot of typos in this book but not as many as book 1. My biggest complaint is a twofold issue.... The characters, the guys especially, don't have distinct voices and that voice does not sound like a teenage/early 20s guy. Normally, this would keep me from enjoying and continuing a book however I still really liked it. Unlike many of the reviewers, I don't have any issues with the ages of the characters. All in all I liked this book enough to want to read the final in the series. I'm off to start book 3!

Well it's a Winter Tale but it's so sweet. First off read book 1 and it's free until January 23. I bought the book myself and I was in love with it right away. Now to the book. There was a mix up with files so at first there were typo's and words missing but Melissa fixed it so you can enjoy this book.

I love how the relationships progress. I love Logan, Xander and Joel. Austin is a hot and cold guy. He means well but he might just loose Clary all together. And there's a new guy Preston. She's known Preston for a long time and he really wants her. I can't wait to see if Preston is added to the guys for Clary. I like how openminded her grandmother is. Her mother is really strict. I know you will love this story as much as I did. I will re-read for sure

Wow! I thought summer camp sounded good. Well The Winters Tale is just as amazing if not even better. We get to continue Clary’s story with her four handsome guys and meet some new people as well. Be ready for a ride because you will not be bored. I am so impressed with the connection of the characters. I was telling my daughter about Winters Tale and realized I was talking like I actually knew everyone. Melissa Adams really helps you to understand the thoughts and emotions the characters are feeling and thinking. I am so excited that there will be a book three. I can’t wait to see how Clary’s love life continues.

Definitely recommend!!! Don’t forget to read the first book!

Melissa Adams has another hit on her hands. This is the perfect second book in a series that I can't get enough of. Make sure you have read book one in the series before you start. This book is a continuation of that book.
Clary and her guys are back trying to build on what they started in the summer. It starts after Clary gets home from camp and goes until time to leave for camp. If you want a book that deals with the daily life of dealing with a harem, this is the book you want. Jealousy, betrayal, and some slightly embarrassing moments make for a great book that I couldn't put down. I can't wait to see what happens with Clary and all the men in her life in the next book.

I am really enjoying this series and watching as Mel and her boys grow. Mel comes back from summer camp worried about how they will be able to continue their relationships; but the guys have big surprises in store for her. I love how Mel is honest and mature. She know what she wants but isn't afraid to say when she doesn't want something. There is some big turmoil between her and her mom and I'm glad she has her grandmother to go to. She is a fun character always there to help and be supportive. There are some ups and downs as with any relationship and they must learn to work through their problems or give up. I am so excited for the next book and watching the group grow together.

I really enjoyed reading more about Clary and her boys!!! The love and devotion the guys have for her is beautiful to read about! They are all definitely still learning how to make their relationship work and this book throws us a few curveballs. Some are resolved and others we will learn more about in future books, I’m sure. I love the way this author writes a sexy scene, she has the amazing talent of making it extremely H-O-T but you still feel how much each guy loves and respect Clary. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!!!!

This is a second book in a reserve harem relationship where book one is at a summer camp of laugh, love, laughter and girlfriend fun times with no parents! Book two gives the reader a chance to learn more of the characters and his or her respective families and home life. After, a fun filled summer, we get to see Clary at home and school. Giving a different view of how these characters interact with each other but also their regular everyday social life. We see Clary’s character develop a deeper relationship with her guys. Lake Emerald Chronicles is a great read.

Let me start by saying OMG!! This book just gave me the feels in many different ways. First, I could relate to so many characters and situations that it gave me great perspective. Second, holy hotness the range of characters and personality just blew me away it made the perfect picture of this world in my head. Through each book it grows and grows and the plot twists are the perfect pull for more! I can hardly wait for the next book! Amazing job Melissa Adams! I would most definitely recommend this book!

This was a great read. Couldn’t put it down. Clary is once again way over her head in love and lust for her boys. Austin is a douche, as expected. Wondering if he’ll show his face in book 3. This is hot and heavy. Fun in lots of ways. There was only one part that I really didn’t like and that was when the boys were telling each other they are jealous of each other. That was a bit lame. Otherwise, Clary is one lucky chick. Enjoyed this.

I’m really attached to these characters! At the beginning of this book 2, I, of course, thought, no way is this believable. They all move into the house next door, come on! But, soon Inforgot all about it. They all grow closer and maybe a chance for a new boy... Plus, so much happens in this story! Wow! I love that it ends back with Summer camp, with Clary being almost eighteen, and with all the fun, sexy time in this book, you know it’s all getting ready for something big to happen.

Book 2 had such a great transition from book 1. With life and love the charter development was spot on . Both with the charters growing into themselves as young adult's and learning how to be in a relationship. I enjoy the touch of mystery is every book. It's not all lovey ups and downs but a little bit of a new avenue for your brain to focus on as well. I can't wait for book 3 to see what out lovely gets up to at summer camp!

Awesome book!

This is an amazingly written story with a thought out a detailed plot and well defined characters. The second story in the series starts where the other left off without retelling the entire first story but gives enough to remind you. I loved how detailed this book was and the reality put into the storyline. The twists and turns kept me intrigued and my emotions sometimes got the best of me. I love this book and can't wait to read the next one!

This book is like that guilty pleasure “reality TV” with the terrible acting. You cringe while reading it bc the dialogue and writing is pretty cheesy, but the drama just sucks you right in and you can’t stop. I will at least say this-the boys are distinct with different personalities that make them easy to tell apart, which is difficult for an RH, so definite kudos for that.

I loved how you get to know each guy and how they separately interact with Clary and then for them to accept her relationships with the whole group (which is why RH is my fave🤤🖤). Xander and Joel have my heart! I love all the different POV’s, it’s so interesting to see what each character is thinking/feeling. I cannot wait to read book 2 A Winter Tale! Off to amazon to buy it! Thank you Melissa Adams!

This is the second installment of Clary and her boys unusual romance. I think i may have actually enjoyed this one a little more than the first.. There seemed to be a lot more character development, the individual relationships she had with each boy was more thoroughly navigated and outside perspectives were taken more into consideration. I'm still deeply drawn into the groups whirlwind romance, and really looking forward to the next story!

What an amazing follow up to The First summer. The summer is over and Clary is back home under her mom’s very strict rules! But, rest assured that the boys will find a way to be with Clary. Through the story’s ups and downs, happy times and sad moments, Melissa Adams takes her readers on an emotional journey with Clary and her boys. I Loved this book and am looking forward to reading the next in the series!

I love Clary and all her boys. It’s winter so they aren’t on the lake but back home. How does she deal with the boys being away?? Long distance is hard when you’re young and smitten. But things change. New players arise and old flames sometimes fizzle. Their love is far from perfect but she’ll have plenty to keep her warm at night.

Melissa Adams outdid herself with A winter tale. Clary is back at school now. We meet new people, new adventures. The guys still sexy as ever and even steamier. Clary is ready to push herself even further. We meet more of everyone’s families. An old family friend of clary’s comes to shake things up. While Austin is Austin. This is a must read book.
