A thorough look at the state of Texas’ geologic history and present. Divides the history into four major time spans. Divides those times into the Proterozoic, the Late Proterozoic and the Paleozoic, the Mesozoic, and the Cenozoic. Provides excellent visual aids for understanding the formations geologists or laypersons will encounter as they traverse the state. Each chapter ends with professional literature over-viewing the chapter. Includes an excellent chapter on mineral resources in the state and localities for each resource, in addition to a brief history of extraction for each resource. In short, this book represents a superb resource for geologist and layperson alike who seek a quick overview of the state and serves as an introduction to find additional resources for research.
