In this urban take on Cinderella, Briella is trying to find her way in the world. She is dealing with her cruel stepmother who forces her to work in a brothel, being a slave to her step sisters and trying to keep her grades up. Despite feeling cursed in this cold world, Briella knows she always has her two cousins, Jakiah and August, and her Aunt Fay. That is, until one day her aunt is brutally murdered in her home. Briella and her cousins are now out in the world with nobody but themselves to lean on. In spite of their circumstances they find friendships in the most unsuspecting places.
Prince has always been a gentleman, even though he was raised by a kingpin. When he meets Briella something else ignited inside of him. He instantly knows he must do whatever he can to protect her, especially from her stepmother who is the core of Briella's rough life. Prince finds himself bossing up and following his fathers footsteps to keep the love of his life safe. Ride along with them as they go on the roller coaster of life, love and deceit.
This book provides me with such vivid imagery. Even though this is fiction, Briella’s story jumps out to me as a story that many young women sold into sex slavery face. Briella finds a good man but uses her past to create an obstacle for her”Prince”. This book can really be a movie ! Can’t wait for the next one.
Reading this book had my emotions alllll over the place. I really enjoyed the journey the author takes the readers on. She always keeps you wondering. This is a plus for me because there's a lot of Urban fiction novels that are predictable. Queen pen has proven to be very unpredictable, I love that. I highly recommend this book to be in all readers bookshelves. 🔥😊

The book is off the chain!!!! I was not really a reader until now because this book had me all in 100%. I felt so many emotions reading this book because that is just how great it was. Her work is amazing and I love her! I can't wait to start book #2 because the ending got me thinking hard. If you are contemplating on getting this book then don't just read it and you will not be disappointed. The book is awesome period!
Whew this book was sooo gooodd! Once i started i couldn’t put it down! It definitely captured my attention from the first page and i can’t wait until book 2 comes out to answer all my questions
This was my first time reading anything by this author and I’m impressed. I love this book Preston is Bae❤️❤️😍. Preston is exactly what Bri needs after everything she’s been through. Madame and those evil stepsisters need to go😡😡😡. I’m so looking forward to part 2.
This book was amazing from start to finish all you could do was hope for Briella throughout the story! And I loved the connections made to the inspired storyline. You definitely did an amazing job with this! I can’t wait to get to the next book.
I enjoyed this book so much that I read it twice in a 2-day time period! The depth of the characters, engaging plot that always keeps you on your toes and amazing attention to detail makes this book a must-read!
even though the narrator could have been better they did not take away from the story. and I think that's a huge nod and compliment to the author. To be able to write a story so well that it overcomes less than spectacular narration. the narrator isn't awful It's just sometimes she sounds a little too robotic. but overall I think that the story was well written and I really love this Twist on the Cinderella fairy tale. I really love how the author weaved in so much symbolism that fans of this fairytale are able to pick up all the creative twist that she added to this reimagined Fairy tale. she did a great job. I would recommend this Urban fairy tale to anyone looking for a fresh new take on the classic.
I LOVE how the author added a twist to the Cinderella fairytale. My heart went out to Bri. All that she had to endure as a young lady until she turned 18, I just wanted to jump in the book and protect her myself. I can't wait for part two so I can find out where Noella came from.
The classic tale of Cinderella with a good spin was amazing. I couldn’t keep myself from the many twist and turns in this book. I loved it and can’t wait to read more from Queen Pen
Baby, I’m slowly but surely falling in love with Cyn’s writing style and enjoying every moment of the falling!!!
This story was amazing written! Bri and Prince’s love story was everything and so much more. It was definitely love at first sight for him but she was scared because of all the trauma that she experienced in her short life. But once she got over it, they were on and popping.
If you love a good cliffhanger then you are going to love this one! I can’t wait to read part 2!
Damn that Madame was a hot azz mess for doing Bri like that. I knew she had something to do with her dad dying because it just seemed to planned like Cinderella. I hope she is dead or damn near but being that she had money I doubt it. I hope August pull through because the three musketeers can’t be broken. Wow where in the hell did Noella come from?
This was a refreshing spin on a classic fairytale. There is not a single dull moment throughout the entire book. I cannot wait to see what book 2 has in store. I would definitely recommend this book to all of my reader friends.
This book is an absolutely incredible read that had me captivated from the very first few pages! The character development is impeccable and the modern day interpretation of a fairytale classic was right on point!
This was my first time reading from this author and I could honestly say her pen is sick the book had me hook from the first chapter in glad that she got her happy ending
Madame was a low down dirty lady. I hope she gets what she deserves. It's crazy that her sister is still alive after all this time. Oh them sisters needs to get got too.
