“You think I’m too hot to handle, don’t you, Freckles?”
“Maybe a little.”
“A little my ass,” he grinned, “Baby, you can’t breathe when I’m near you.”

Never in her wildest dreams did Sloane Bailey think Kerr Hunter would look her way. Now he’s offering himself to her in the only way he knows. It’s a hell of an offer for the reticent redhead who fell in love at first sight. She knows from the very beginning she’s in over her head, but she has neither the strength nor the inclination to deny him.

Kerr thinks his infatuation with Sloane is under control. He’s about to discover, when it comes to affairs of the heart, resisting the inevitable is a futile endeavor. However, he still has no intention of surrendering his tortured soul. When his painful past and perilous present collide, Kerr finds himself fighting for more than just his heart. Lives are at stake. He failed once before. He has no intention of letting it happen again. However, with his mind clouded by revenge and fear overshadowing his judgment, can Kerr unravel the tangled network of corruption before it’s too late?

Kerr Hunter is a beautifully broken man, he keeps his head in check and his heart closed off ! He lets no-one in and as far as the world sees he’s your typical confident player !

But a kiss on News Eve, started the beginning of a change, he’s eyes slowly opened to the possibility of his needs and wants becoming a reality ! And as he slowly lets the delectable Sloane into his life and heart, the layers begin to peel away and reveal the truth behind the facade !

This story is engaging and emotional, the perfect mix of intense, suspense and heat. The plot itself is perfectly balanced as you flow easily through the story.

I laughed, I had tears and I was sat on the edge of my seat as the words flew of the page ! The difficulty in the subject matter of the military and political elements made to look easy as the twists kept coming ! Is a true testament to the author and were beautifully executed !

SE did not disappoint, I’m trying hard to not give much away as you need to read and go in blind ! Although this can be read at a stand-alone, I’d go back to the beginning and read the rest of the series, I promise it’s worth it !

The moment I opened to the moment I finished this book had me in its grips and it always a good sign when you are left wanting more, but when a book has you processing it over a few days you know you’ve found a corker !

I’m still in awe of Ms Cooper and that this is only her 3rd book, her writing style is seasoned and brilliant ! I cannot wait to see where this author goes next !

As with the previous two books in this series,I've had the privilege being a BETA reader, and once again I've been totally blown away by the sheer quality of SE's work.
This can be read as a Standalone, yet it is a worthy continuation of the series.
Right from the Prologue I got fully invested in the story, and without giving too much away as to all that happens,it moved along at a steady enough pace, told in DUAL POV's,with enough humor included along the way that it had me laughing out loud at a few parts, the banter between Kerr and his Family, and Sloane herself flowed well, and was a good mix with the added intrigue and surprises that I didn't see coming. There was some heart-stopping moments that made me get a bit emotional, and of course some heat that resulted in the chemistry between both Kerr and Sloane, that wasn't the usual quick to happen.(I have to say that although I've laid claim to the previous book's lead man 'Big'...after this he will now have to share that No.1 place with Kerr Hunter!! #OhHelloKerr #MrHeLikesToPlayAlphaHotness)
We also got new character's introduced,as well as appearances from one's seen previously, who could be possible future works? (no pressure there SE Cooper!) and an Epilogue that made me smile.

All in all,I absolutely loved this story, couldn't put it down...and can't wait to see what will be next!

This book is amazing. As with her previous books she draws you so quickly into the story, you don’t want to leave it.
Without giving away the story in this third book we meet Kerr Hunter, he’s a strong Alpha male who you instantly warm to and makes you wish you had a man like this in your life, and the beautiful Sloane, who as with all good leading ladies makes you wish you were just a bit more like her.
The book is powerful and engaging, words are beautifully written bringing alive the characters. We get a chance to catch up with our favourites Lane and Ari from Silhouette and Big and Nyah from Solace, filling the need to know as much as we can about the Hunter Boys.
I laughed out loud at this book and found myself crying actual real tears. You know a story has gripped you when you put it down wanting more.
A truly remarkable third book from SE Cooper, I can’t recommend buying this book enough.

In Surrender, the third novel in the Hunter series, author S.E. Cooper is quick to grab your attention right out of the gate. In introducing us to Kerr Hunter’s past as a soldier, she gives us a glimpse into his broken and battered heart. The pain slays him by day and the memories haunt him by night. He’s careful to keep his walls built up high and locked up tight to keep the demons at bay.

“Leaving the shell of a man who had no right claiming a heart he could not protect”

After sharing a New Years kiss with a shy but sassy redhead, he offers the only part of himself he has left to give. Sloane Bailey doesn’t do casual, but being already in love with the handsome ex-soldier, she’ll take what she can get. Having no intentions of bringing someone else into his broken and tainted existence, Kerr thinks he can keep his heart hidden from Sloane, and with it his pain. Little does he know that surrendering his heart may not be his decision to make. When Kerr can no longer run from his past, he must face it head on while unraveling the deep betrayal and corruption of the political underworld. Secrets are uncovered, truths connected, and lives threatened. Ever the protector, can Kerr beat his demons while learning the truth? Or will his past win? Read Surrender and Find out!

I enjoyed how expertly S.E. Cooper hooks her audience with a well written prologue and continues to impress throughout the book. Surrender can be read as a standalone novel, however from the perspective of someone that had not read the previous installments, I recommend that you read them first. I loved Kerr’s alpha male tendencies and protective nature. I honestly wasn’t really a fan of Sloane. I didn’t find her character as likeable as the other side female characters. This certainly doesn’t reflect negatively on Cooper’s writing, simply not the female character type that I prefer. I felt the true beauty of Surrender lied within the prologue and the epilogue. I won’t give any details away, you have to discover those yourself, but both made the entire read worth it. If you enjoy mystery, intrigue, romance, and suspense then Surrender is the perfect read for you!

It seems I've been waiting for Kerr's story for ages, or at least since the release of Silhouette, and SE Cooper did not disappoint! Kerr and Sloane's story is an intriguing journey into the enigma that is Kerr Hunter and the shy woman who turns out to be everything he swore he'd never attempt again. Along with the push and pull between the couple, Ms. Cooper weaves a story of political corruption and military betrayal that cuts Kerr and Sloane to their very cores. Lies and secrets are revealed. Passion and chemistry are ignited and love and family are put at risk.
Little did Kerr know that the haze he'd been living in for years would start lifting on New Year's Eve when he kissed the woman he realized was his sister's sheltered employee. However, Sloane is far from the shy wallflower Kerr thought, she's as fiery as her red hair. Which intrigues Kerr even more.
I love that Ms. Cooper incorporates the entire family into her stories, so the reader knows exactly what is going on with couples and characters from the previous books. The introduction of Sloane's mom and sister add another layer of family to the Hunter clan. I adore Sloane's mom, who might have a slight crush on Kerr. Her sister, Ty, on the other hand comes with more trouble than anyone should have to deal with.
Ms. Cooper's writing is fresh, her plots involved and inventive, and her sex scenes smoking hot. Her characters are well-developed and likable. Over the course of the series they have become like old friends and I cannot wait for the next suspenseful read from this talented author.

Surrender by SE Cooper is book Three in The Hunter Series. This is the story of Sloane Bailey and Kerr Hunter. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me it was a standalone book.
One kiss on New Years Eve awoke both Sloane and Kerr to their daily life living. Kerr didn't allow himself to really feel anything for a women due to past issues. But when he kissed Sloane it lifted his eyes and mind to maybe trying for something more. Sloane seems to like to leave in the shadows but reach out in that moment for this kiss. Now they are dancing around their new feelings and working to find if and where they can lead to something else.
So enjoyed this book...couldn't put it down!

Once again Ms Cooper has me left in awe. From the prologue to the very end, she had me shocked, laughing, intrigued and on the edge of my seat. The wonderful weaved storyline that brings us military and political corruption with a side serving of blackmail. Bring back a past that Kerr has tried unsuccessfully to leave behind him.

Kerr tries to keep everything in check all the time. He has rules that he lives by and there is no breaking the rules. Keep people at arms length and chain his heart closed and not let a woman in again. He never hoped or dreamed of someone like Sloane for himself. Sure he has gone out of his way to make sure his siblings were happy, but it just wasn't on his radar.

Sloane has watched from the sidelines, trying to stay unnoticed for so long that she even surprises herself when she steps out on occasion. She absolutely was not expecting to run into Kerr Hunter on New Year's Eve. Finding herself reconnected with her sister after many years of heartache. Is she willing to take the chance and put her heart on the line?

Will Kerr open his heart and let Sloane in or will he push her away and break her heart?

The wonderful characters that Ms Cooper brings us in The Hunter Series, are like family. For a series follower you find yourself getting a little more attached with each book, hoping at the end of each book that there will be more. For a first time reader, Ms Cooper does a good job of reintroducing the previous characters, setting the stage for the relationships they have with the current characters. Give this series a try, I promise you won't regret it.

This story was AMAZING cover to cover! Kerr Hunter is a haunted man who has a past that keeps him from attempting relationships with women, until he comes across a beautiful red head on New Year's Eve. Little does he know that the red head that he's trying to pick up, is a girl that he's known for a while, but never gave a second look, and when he figures it out, chaos follows. That leads Kerr & Sloane on a journey that is quite intense. See, Sloane has always had a thing for Kerr, but she felt like she was out of his league, and frankly, his playboy ways have her convinced that she should be running the other way. But he's not playing fair in his pursuit of her, and she's not sure how long she can hold out. Their chemistry won't be denied either, although, it's not igniting quickly, nope, things tend to interrupt them, but when it finally does? Yeah, they light the sheets on fire. However, in the midst of the mind blowing sexy times, Kerr's past is colliding into his present, and he's not thinking straight all the time, especially since he doesn't feel like he's keeping everyone safe. And that's when the twists are flying from every direction, so my f-bombs are coming from the opposite direction as I drop them like they're hot. Luckily, there's an amazing cast of secondaries who aren't afraid to get in his face, and boy they entertained me many times. So yeah, S.E. Cooper penned a perfect read in my eyes, which I couldn't get enough of, so I CANNOT WAIT for the next one, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is the third book in this series and I seriously hope it isn’t the last. As with the other books, Silhouette and Solace it can be read as a standalone, but i’d highly recommend reading them all, simply because i loved them !!
This is Kerr Hunter’s story, a complicated man, a tortured man, one that reminds us the scars and wounds we carry on the inside, leave us portraying persona’s where we function at life but we don’t LIVE it. That is until one New Years Eve when Kerr bumps into his sisters assistant in a social surrounding and completely captivates him. Sloane has had a crush on her boss’s brother for quite a while, but surely with this player she would only be a notch on his bed post right? OH heck no, this man is so much more, Behind those walls is the man of your dreams!
I loved this book, I MEAN LOVED IT! So much more than a hot steamy romance, but yes we sure do get the bedroom goodies!! But this is so much more, two people who don’t seem to match, yet they combust and mould together so perfectly and we get all the giddy butterflies of being the fly on the wall watching these two awesome characters navigate their fall into LOVE! But this author doesn’t stop there, oh no, she then throws suspense and danger at you, leaving you unable to set the book down and gripping the edge of your seat! Lives, Careers, their relationship all hangs in the balance whilst at the same time opening up a whole big dirty can of worms !!

What can is say about this author, she has delivered yet again in this third book in the series, and boy what a story this was about the beautifully hot but broken man Kerr Hunter the oldest of the siblings, this story draws you in from the beginning so quickly that you don't have time to get your breath.

Kerr and Sloane's journey starts with a kiss at the strike of midnight on New Years Eve but nothing is ever straight forward and Sloane ends up injured for the next few months because of that fated kiss.Sloane is not a forward woman but likes to keep in the shadows so when Kerr takes notice of her everything changes for her.

This is a intriguing storyline of political corruption that brings Kerr's military past to the present, which he had thought was dead and buried along with his heart.Kerr keeps everything close to his chest and doesn't let anybody in to the horror that was his past,he pushes everyone away including Sloane before he realises that this has now become personal.

This story flowed along at a fast pace and had all the feels that kept me reading far onto the night with how this story was unfolding. There was a lot of twists along the way, also the secondary characters are interwoven into this story where you want to find out there story as well. This series is a must read if you have not picked this up yet,it will definitely keep you hooked until the very last page i can guarantee.Five huge broken stars.

I feel terrible but I really couldn't get into this book , couldn't connect with the characters and story line . Surrender is the first book that I've read by S.E Cooper there is a possibility that I'll try re reading this in the future including more of the authors work . The blurb was what really drew me in then the cover but from the first page I just felt like there wasn't a connection for me . From reading other peoples reviews I see that this was a great book in others opinions and from that I want to give this book another chance because I may have been having a off day . So I'm looking forward to changing my thoughts as soon as I'm in the head space to give Surrender another chance .

Holy moly shes done it again!
SE Cooper once again manages to give us a story that takes us right into the life of the Hunters that makes us not want to leave again!
This time we get the story of Kerr and Sloane and what a story it is.
We met Kerr in book 1 and i have always wanted to know more... hes lost broken and damaged (my type of man 😉) and he really feels like he doesn't deserve happiness after some problems hes had in his past.
Sloane is quiet shy reserved and doesn't even give Kerr eye contact until one night out when their lives are turned up side down.
Twists and turns galore this story takes us on another roller coaster of emotions.. lies.. truths.. and heart break and also a Lane Hunter Guarantee thrown in Haha
SE Cooper never fails to surprise me with her words and I cant wait to see what she will bring us next!

This is the third book in this awesome series and is Sloane and Kerr’s story. Kerr is an ex soldier, who is broken and haunted by demons, and when he and Sloane share a kiss something unleashes inside of him as the walls around his heart start to crumble. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written story which is intriguing, engaging, poignant, emotional, as well as filled with surprise, betrayal, secrets, humorous, and with witty banter throughout. I was totally intrigued and captivated by this story, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.

When Kerr spies a beautiful redhead on New Year's Eve, he thinks she'll be his next conquest. Never did he imagine she was not only someone already in his life (even if on the fringes) and that she'd be the one to whom he'd give his heart. But when his determined pursuit of her lands her in the hospital, suddenly his heart and his life are turned upside down and inside out. He can't get the beautiful Sloane out of his mind to the tune of paying for her hospital expenses AND her mother's medical expenses, but yet not really appearing back in her life til months later.

Poor Sloane has crushed on her boss' brother forever now. But he flusters her so much that she hides every time he appears in his sister's shop where Sloane works. To the tune that he never really glimpses her face so doesn't recognize her that New Year's Eve. But when the man freaks her out so much that she bolts when he chases after her, and results in landing her in the hospital, she never expects that suddenly the man of her dreams is interested in her. But then he disappears again and she figures her life will go back to normal, never knowing that Kerr still has plans for her, for them. Unfortunately, those plans are not what Sloane has always wanted - the white picket fence and the home and the family and all that jazz. But, she just might take what little Kerr can offer her, even if it means she'll have a broken heart at the end of their fling.

I loved Surrender! I haven't read any of the other stories in this series, but it was really easy to figure out what was going on in this one, so it's a standalone for the most part. Kerr was frustrating as hell, but when his backstory was revealed, I sympathized with him and gave him a big pass even though he had broken Sloane's heart because of his stupid behavior. Luckily the author didn't inject too much angst, and allowed Sloane and Kerr to easily come back into each other's lives. I thought Surrender was fabulous - sexy, emotionally layered with a great cast of primary and secondary characters.
