He needs a date for Christmas. She needs money for a dream. Maybe they'll both get a Christmas miracle! The handsome and kind, Mike Hamilton, doesn't want to go back to his hometown, Snow Valley, to attend his sister's wedding and spend Christmas, especially since he didn't tell anyone he got dumped two weeks ago. So when he discovers a girl standing on a roof praying, running to the top to join her doesn't feel thatdesperate. Too bad they both fall and she accuses him of trying to kill her.
Aspiring singer and songwriter, Zoey Harper, doesn't know who this guy is -- but she doesn't need his help. When he offers to pay her to be his FAKE girlfriend to get him out of a little situation, she immediately says no. But when she finds herself without a job, without a car, and with no money to go try out for The Voice and fulfill a life-long dream, she agrees! But ONLY kissing. And only pecks on the cheek!
She doesn't know how she finds herself making out with him to keep his ex girlfriend at bay, then cannon balling into the hot springs on his property and spilling all of her secrets. And who would have guessed that her favorite person would be his grumpy grandpa? Her lonely heart doesn't know when things started to change between she and Mike--when he ran up on the roof to save her or when she finds herself singing a song for him in front of his whole family.
When their lies fall apart, they are left with a choice--forget the past five days or get the Christmas miracle that could change their lives forever.

A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
I can always count on Taylor Hart to deliver fluffy, feel good romances that will make me smile. This book is perfect for heading into the holiday season. Both Zoey and Mike are likable characters, full of personality and charm. How grand was it to be back in Snow Valley again?! I've missed the small town charm and the feeling of community the books set in this place provide. Mike's family will have you feeling right at home- even old Gramps. I thought the first meet between Mike and Zoey was cute and very original. It made me smile. The growing attraction was fun and the kissing was yummy. It was the best kind of romantic diversion for me today!
Content: clean romance, kissing
- I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is a quick, fun read and a very cute story. I loved the characters and this was a fun trope. Even though Zoey was supposed to be another girl, she held her own and was herself. And Mike is the hunky guy who came to her rescue when she was down and they needed each other. I enjoyed how their relationship progressed and the supporting characters were just as wonderful as Mike and Zoey.
This is the perfect time of year to read one of the Snow Valley romance stories! Snow Valley is the perfect little Christmas town. It just seems like they make a special Christmas magic of their own in the books about this little place.
This one starts with Mike. He’s just landed in the Billings airport ready to make the trek to Snow Valley. He’s a bit embarrassed because he’s broken up with his girlfriend and his family was planning for him to bring her to his sister’s wedding. His dad asks him to check on something in their storage unit. That’s when he meets and “saves” Zoey for the first time. I really loved the way these two meet. It’s just so sweet and crazy.
Zoey is a widow. She’s not quite sure how things are going to work out for her. She’s used all her money on school and rent, leaving nothing to make her dream of being a singer work out. That’s when the two hatch a plan…Zoey will pretend to be Ann for Mike’s sister’s wedding and he will pay her in return.
I had to laugh as their plan unfolded. Zoey and Ann were nothing at all alike. A fact that Mike’s family was sure to pick up on. Sure enough, there are plenty of laugh out loud moments as Zoey is herself versus the stuffy Ann.
I loved the way the story in The Christmas Girlfriend played out! The love story was sweet and the wedding of Mike’s sister was just…magical. Make sure to get yourself a copy!
Oh, Taylor Hart sure knows how to write fun, romantic, heart-tugging stories! And I love the way that all her books and characters somehow intersect and mingle together even through different series. I haven’t read all of her books but have read enough to recognize some cameo appearances and mentions in the plot that had me smiling....though one particular mention (won’t spoil it here) of a hero I’ve swooned over in a previous book had me pounding my chair in agony and shaking my fist at the injustice of it all. But I’ll have to read the follow up book to see what happens to this particular hero.
In this book, Mike is a sweet, somewhat awkward, tender man, devoted to his family and his photography, and his studies at Harvard Business School. Zoey is a spunky but grieving young widow who is scraping by to make ends meet but really wants to audition for The Voice. They strike up a deal - she pretends to be his girlfriend throughout his sister’s Christmas Eve wedding and celebration week and he compensates her monetarily. Only they didn’t bank on their hearts getting in the way or others being hurt in the process or their dreams shifting and changing.
Such a fun story of chasing dreams and the give and take, even of dreams, required in a solid relationship. Now I need to read all about the Kent brothers from Snow Valley! I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
Mike was dumped by his ex a few weeks before going home to his sister's Christmas wedding and he brings feisty, beautiful, military widow Zoey along, posing as his former girlfriend, Ann. Soon the lines between real and fake begin to blur as they let down their walls and share their true selves with one another. This book is part of a series set in make-believe Snow Valley, Montana--an idyllic small town in which the ideals of family, community, and the healing power of love make the reader wish they could live there. I've read all of the Snow Valley books and although the books sometimes share characters, each one can be read as a standalone. I always feel good after a literary trip to Snow Valley and I highly recommend The Christmas Girlfriend by Taylor Hart for anyone who wants to feel the embrace of a loving family, the support (and sometimes irritations) of a caring community, the healing of old wounds allowing romance to blossom, and some laugh-out-loud moments. Highly recommend!
The Christmas Girlfriend - This is my first book by this author and I found the book OK. I like that it is a clean and romantic book. The characters ranging in their intensity, from lovable to feisty; especially Grandpa. Even though this book appears to be part of a series, the few references to the past didn't confuse or make me wish I had read them first; this is a well written standalone.
Zoey has to handle more than most but she's not a prima donna but a regular, intelligent person doing the best she can. Both she and her fake boyfriend learn that dreams can change into something just as good and actually was better for both to take another road. I contacted the author to review her book. 4*
Disappointing and way too similar in storyline to last year's Christmas Boyfriend. Michael is the brother of Lacey (from The Christmas Boyfriend). They are the children of Janet (Snow) and Michael Hamilton introduced in the Snow Valley story, First Love (also found in the anthology, Spring in Snow Valley). Janet and Michael seem like good parents, but you have to wonder what kind of home life would cause BOTH children to feel the need to hire a stranger to pose in a fake relationship to hide the fact that poor choices in a girlfriend (or boyfriend) caused them to be alone when coming home for the holidays. Magically, however, both hired relationships end up being "the one." Of course they were, we just didn't see the fairy godmother hiding near the hot spring.
After all the hype, i was left feeling a little disappointed
I had high hopes for this one, but it didn't totally deliver. Along with some typos, there were two things that kind of ruined the book for me. The first: Maybe i live under a rock, but i find it difficult to believe that women hitch hike in this day and age. Talk about dangerous. And stupid. The second thing i didn't like was how in-your-face Zoey got with Nellie at Big C's. She accused Nellie of being all controlling Amazon cavewoman, but she acted the same way. I really didn't like her in that moment and it changed my view of the story. I did like that it was clean. I did like the continuation of Mikes family's story.
Orphaned. Widowed. Broke. Fired. And the key to the future broken in the lock. What’s a girl to do? How about pretend to be a girlfriend for Christmas.
Warm and loving family welcomes the lost and lonely woman into their world and opens her heart to the possibilities of a warm forever, the kind she had before with her parents. This story is one that deals with opening up a chilled heart and the struggle that entails. For when one is truly alone, the heart and the mind can put up walls and shields of protection that have to be patiently overcome.
I loved this sweet story. I fell in love with the characters and pulled for them to overcome their obstacles.
A massive snow storm, a woman on a storage unit, a needed date? Such a sweet story of finding a second love and helping each other move forward with their dream. Michael is home for Christmas break, happy to leave Boston behind. The only problem, his girlfriend dumped him and he hasn’t told his family plus he needs protection from an overly aggressive ex-girlfriend. When he sees Zoey praying on top of a storage shed, he is drawn to try and help her. Zoey, a widow, went to the storage shed to retrieve three bonds her husband had left. Unfortunately, they were gone and she needed money. So when Mike offered to pay her to pose as his girlfriend for a week she accepted. But things have a way of not going just as we expected and this was no exception. A fun unexpected love story.
Romance, clean; Series but stand alone read; novella Mike and Zoey's cute fall was set at his sister's wedding to her HEA she met the previous Christmas by chance exactly like Mike and Zoey. In need of a fake romance. While one customer complained, part of the charm of this is the familiar faces in the series. Family dynamics, some fun character, genuine honest, heartfelt emotions and some family drama, expectations, secrets, and misunderstandings were a fun background for this cute romance. This is a short read, but still fun. This is a sweet, heartfelt, cute, light romance. I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. My opinions are my own.
Cute, quick read, clean, Christmas, fluff romance. I enjoyed the read. I liked the main characters although Zoey might have gotten just a little overly riled up in defending her "territory". I do enjoy a good fake girlfriend/boyfriend story so this one was fun.
There was a little element of sadness in it since Zoey is still grieving the loss of her husband but mostly it is upbeat. I liked that they supported each other's dreams even though they were faking a relationship. I also like that Mike's family was supportive of him.
Going back to Snow Valley is always a treat especially at Christmas time! I love all the fun things the town does during Christmas time and gets you right into the spirit of the holidays. Mike & Zoey meet in very odd circumstances and I'm so glad Mike found her even though she wanted nothing to do with him. I loved that Zoey got to experience a Snow Valley Christmas and feel the love of a family. I loved their connection and of course their steamy kisses... oo la la. I loved this sweet Christmas romance!
The Christmas Girlfriend - who wouldn't want to live in the magical town of Snow Valley? Christmas is the perfect time to return and an even better time to bring a guest. It's not the first time a Hamilton has come home sporting a fake relationship. It's not the first time everyone was almost completely fooled. It's also not the first time the fake feelings turn into something real. Mike and Zoey have unique situations and challenges but, once again, Snow Valley is the place for healing and home.
Well. I don't know how to review this book. Yes it was good. But.... I figured out what is wrong..... Everything is a day late. Quotes and observations: 1. Then on the twenty-sixth, we do a toy drive, and that night I’ll bring you back. Question fellow readers. Why would they hand out toys AFTER Christmas? 2. You light the community Christmas tree ON Christmas? Christmas is almost over! 3. Finally...Someone actually spoke up and said the words. no matter how this started out, it’s not fake to me anymore
Great read a real page turner, lot a twists and turns. it was hard to A down at times. . The aurhor is a great story teller, has a way with words and paints a picture so well you think your write there living with them. It had an amazing number twist and turns that I just didn't see coming, it was frustrating at times , but it had a some what satisfying ending. . I really kept looking forward to the next reading section of it.. It's a feel good read.
I really enjoyed this book! I wish Snow Valley was a real place. I love the family connections and the town spirit. Lacey and Dom from a previous book get their beautiful Christmas wedding in this book. Micheal and Zoey have sparks from the beginning and over the story a sweet friendship grows. I could feel their connection. This book is part of a series but still very much a stand alone book.
The Christmas Boyfriend with Lacey and Dom is one of my favorite Taylor Hart books, so I was tickled to see that she wrote a sequel for Mike that mirrors the original in some ways but becomes its own story.
While the 1st book is still my favorite, this will be one that I will reread after whenever I reread Dom & Lacey's story, lol. Two Christmas thumbs up!
I had tears in my eyes when I finished this one. The book just had so many emotions! And how hard is it to talk about emotions? This author did a fantastic job of telling the story. Why is it so hard to express ourselves? Mike had been surrounded by love and support but still struggled with it. Poor Zoey had never had the family and town support. So there story touched my heart.
The Christmas Girlfriend is a clean, fun romance. The book has strong, likable, personable characters who grow during the course of the story. They learn that dreams can change. Grandpa was one of the best supporting characters. Snow Valley sounds like a wonderful place. The town is very much a part of the story. Pick this up when you have some time because you will not want to put it down!
The Christmas Girlfriend is a well-written romance. The setting is a small, close-knit town in Montana. The well-developed main characters are great together. I liked the warmth and love that Mike's family shared with Zoey. The plot moves at a good pace. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella and can't wait to get back to Snow Valley.
This book may have the winner for the cutest couple. From the way they meet, to how different she is from who she’s trying to pretend to be, to watching them trying not to fall in love, this book is entertaining. The Hamilton/Snow family is hilarious and caring. Be prepared to fall in love with Grandpa.
With her usual skill Ms. Hart writes a sweet clean business to live romance with a couple of twists, and set in Snow Valley which is a familiar location of you read much in this genre.
I really enjoyed this story. It was sweet and dreams came true on both sides. It was predictable with little surprises, but it's a Christmas romance, of course, it's supposed to be romantic and predictable. I loved how this story was brought together though. The grandpa was my personal favorite.
A fun story with great characters in the wonderful town of Snow Valley. I like that this is a sweet, clean romance that puts you in the mood for Christmas.
First time reading a book by Taylor Hart. It was a sweet and funny book. I loved it. Zoey was a feisty woman and Mike a very patient and sweet guy! It was hard to put this book down!
A really good book. I enjoyed reading it. I really enjoyed the plot. Mike and Zoey were good together. Grandpa and Mellor were hilarious additions to the story.
