Fairy godmothers aren't supposed to punish the innocent.
Rana is a frog; a slimy, green, fly-eating, ribbiting frog, and she's running out of time to save herself from a fate worse than death.
If she doesn't convince Kaleb Prince to kiss her by sunrise, she'll remain a cold-blooded amphibian for the rest of her life…however long that may be.
But if Kaleb didn't notice her when she was human, how will she attract his attention now that she's three inches small?
A humorous fairy tale retelling of The Frog Prince that will have fans of Sarah J. Maas’ fantasy series laughing aloud as they root for a little green frog.
Hop to it! Read Cursed today to discover if true love breaks Rana's curse, or if she becomes a permanent addition to Kaleb’s koi pond.

So I’ve reviewed several of Alyssa Drakes works including: The Wiltshire Chronicles Book 1, and I’ll Be Seeing You, another short story in an anthology. I’ve actually read the Wiltshire Chronicles Book 2, which will be coming out later this year. I guess I’d say I’m a fan. Just so you know my background with this author.
This one was quite different from her other works I’ve read though. This is loosely based on a couple of fairytales rather than historical or, dare I say, horror format. I don’t normally like redone fairytales as some of you have seen through my reviews these last two years. But this one I did enjoy. It took a “road less traveled” down fairytale lane. It is the frog prince story mixed with Cinderella which is a great mix because the Frog Prince story is so sad, but using the Cinderella element she gives it a fun twist. I mean who doesn’t love a “bibity, bobity, boo,” right?
Alyssa makes this story great by giving her characters substance like how she describes how a frog might make things happen with their limited size and lack of thumbs. She also provide a non talking fish in the pond with a personality, almost like a fairy godmother of sorts. I also like how she figures out how to work in a way for Rana to describe her relationship with Kaleb when they were young, but with actions also shows how it is currently. Although Kaleb is rarely present in the story, she shows how much he loves Rana through previous actions and inanimate objects, which I think is cool.
Cursed by Alyssa Drake is a great story to read. This story has twist ,turns, and plot snags all threw the whole book. It has a good ending and I can not wait to see what this author will write next.

This was great. Instead of the man being cursed as a frog, it the woman. This was a great twist on the Princess and the Frog. Raya was a great character. So strong and determined to get her man which she did. You will not be able to put this down.

Loved this story!!! Rana and Caleb's story is extremely well written with wonderful character development. I was drawn into the story and remained until the last page. It had plenty of twist and turns to keep you interested and I really enjoyed the twist at the end. It will be interesting to see what other characters that Alyssa Drake will give us from Firefly Island. A great fun read that I highly recommend. Received a copy from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Rana is a working class girl: a waitress on Firefly Island. Content in her life, she is startled when Kaleb Prince suddenly reappears in her life. She hasn't seen him since she was fourteen. But Kaleb has drawn the attention of another: stunningly beautiful Celeste, who cursed Kaleb for scorning her.
Desperate to protect Kaleb, Rana takes the curse upon herself, and Celeste turns Rana into a frog... A slimy green skin frog! After the transformation, Celeste reveals that Rana only has 24 hours to get Kaleb to break the curse...
A refreshing retelling of a classic fairytale, Cursed adds new twists and turns in the path to true love and fulfilment. Loved it!
Great story, mixes bits and pieces of different classic fairytales to bring a unique way to tell the story of our main characters through quests and memories and endurance with a splash of magic to move things along. Although I was expecting to see a bit of the characters from Hexed and find out more about what happened after that, I'm not disappointed, it was a really good way to build up the rest of the island characters. I do hope that the next book brings us more of Remy and the next Queen in the covens.

I really enjoyed Rana and Kaleb's story. This was a really great twist on the frog prince fairy-tale. I was really hoping to get more on the other 3 coven queens, but this was still a really great story. I love how awesome the entire story was and just how you could have so easily placed yourself in the story. This was great because for a few hours the world completely fell away and I was lost in this wonderful tale. I really can't wait to find out what is going to happen on Firefly Island next.
Rana is a well loved waitress in a diner who one day meets a weird uppity lady who states that she's waiting for someone. That someone happens to be Rana's childhood friend Kaleb. Celeste is the stranger who is waiting for Kaleb and also his one night stand who he is no longer interested in. Celeste is very angry and says she wants to kill Kaleb. Unbeknownst to Rana, Celeste has some powers and gets Rana to trade Kaleb's life for a task and next thing she knows she's a frog. What is the task you ask? Rana nust get Kaleb to kiss her in the frog form before the allotted time runs out or she will be stuck like that forever.
Alyssa Drake writes an incredible tale that I found refreshing and original. This is a new author to me and I will definitely be on the lookout for other books by her.
A fab twisted take on the princess and the frog! Well written I found this witty, funny and highly captivating . Love the storyline, love the twists, love the characters! Do they get their hea? Read it and find out, you will not regret it!

(Novella-length) This is a modern take on the Frog Prince tale, and with the sexes switched. This short story is told in simple language, and rather childish in its humor, and between the two (as well as the young sounding heroine), I thought it sounded pitched to a young adult audience (maybe even children), until I hit the graphic sex scene at the end (which honestly surprised me and felt tacked on in comparison to the rest of the book that read entirely innocently). Rana is a good, determined heroine to follow who is sympathetic on how down on her luck she is, while Kaleb seems nice enough (though we really don’t get to see much of him in the present in the book. We just see him mostly in flashbacks from Rana’s childhood). It’s got some nice twists and it is an enjoyable read.
This is the princess and the frog fairy tale revised into a new tale. The premise of the book is Rana and Kaleb Prince are childhood friends. Celeste gives Rana a choice to prove his worth. It's a quick read. Overall, there could have been a little more depth and a lot more character building; however, for the length of the story it was a good read and I enjoyed the idea of what the author was portraying. I volunteered to read this book via booksprout.
What a delightfully twisted tale! Rana has been in love with Kaleb since she was a child, but when she was fourteen he went off to school and she never saw him again. Years later, he showed up at the diner in which she worked, had a fight with a crazy lady, and her life changed forever. This is an entertaining, emotional and cleverly told tale. It’s quick, fun and full of surprises.

Quick but really cute retelling of one of my favorite stories, the princess and the frog, but reversed. Rana is cursed and hopes her love can prove his love and his mettle to help her break it. I would have like just a bit more story and touch more depth to the characters. But, still a fun story that I enjoyed.

I am ALL about fairy tale retellings and this one didn't disappoint. You have Frog Prince rolled up with a hint of Cinderella to bring you a great shorter read.
I loved this story a lot, and when I have time, I am going to continue on to the next one and see where it takes me.
Good feel good book with a little steam.

Who is Celeste? This was such a fun and cute story I loved it. Celeste was a pain in you know where but then to find out the twist at the end was priceless. Rana was delightful and what she risked was splendid. Kaleb turned out to be a sweetheart. Great re-telling of one of my favorite fairy tales and a book I am so glad I took the time to read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I really liked this version of the fairy tale. While Rana and Kaleb had loved each other for years, Kaleb's poor choices causes him to prove his worth. However there is a strange twist which makes this tale interesting.
This book is part of the Paranormal Tales from Firefly Island. This story is a role reversal of the Frog Prince fairytale. It’s a quick read and true to the fairytale style. I loved it (as I do most fairytales) and enjoy this author. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is like reverse frog prince mixed with Cinderella. Where Rana is the daughter of the house keeper who fell in love with the (Kaleb) Prince. And then she gets turned into a frog instead of the prince. But it's really cute and I love all the flashbacks to them as kids. It's also a quick read so perfect for a little break in the day or before bed wind down.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great drama and romance with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I loved this cute take on The Frog Prince with a reverse twist. I was cheering for Rana to get her Prince and her happily ever after. Cursed is a fabulous start to the Paranormal Tales from Firefly Island series and I can't wait to read more books in this fun and entertaining series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A cute short story that I enjoyed reading, that was a twist I did not see coming. This book is also a twist on the frog prince story. I hope there will be more books of this type by this Author.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
