This is the third book in The Vorge Crew series.

Watching his crewmates fall in love has left York craving a female of his own.

That’s how he ends up being matched to a Parri female through a service to find bond mates. He’s excited at the prospect when he arrives on planet Relon . . .
Until he actually meets her.

Betrayed by her government in a bid for alien technology, poverty-stricken human Sara is doomed to be a prince’s sex toy, until she’s rescued on a planet that doesn’t take kindly to slavers.

Suddenly free, she’s an outcast on her new home, treated with distrust . . . by everyone except a gorgeous, kind, huge blue alien.

Too bad he’s getting married the next day. His future bond mate is a horrid, abusive woman, and Sara has a way to save them both -- she’ll convince York to bond with her instead.

I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.

I think that was my least favourite book of the series and that's because hardly anything happens in the book.
York is sweet and nice, Sara is even sweeter and nicer than him. York needs someone to cuddle, Sara needs a protector because she cannot go back to Earth. So they get married because it is the best solution for both of them.

The rest of the Vorge crew is happy about their happiness and they help them stay together. York's ex lover is happy for him, but also sad because he was her back-up plan.

Bad aliens are punished and Vorge, the “Ark of the refuges, the placed out, the unwanted, the mischievous, the Earth girls” is once more full with love.

I am looking forward to Raff's story.

I guess even LD can have an off day. This story was a total 'phone in'.
The first 75% was just plain boring. Lots of info dumps. Even the mean aliens were boring characters.
Heck... even the sex was boring.

The last 25 % was more fun, but in a lampoony kinda way.

What does York do on the Vorge anyways?

Earth's Government has taken to selling off the poor defenseless abundance of women on the planet in exchange for alien tech. They don't vet the buyers well and Sara is on rout to become a sex slave to a gross prince. She is saved... but not by York, they don't meet for the first while in the story. Their sorta-courtship was expedient and predictable. York is a big softy but there's really nothing else interesting about his character. Sara is just an average gal. She can handle herself having grown up in a rough neighbourhood, but I can't honestly say I found her interesting either.

Meh...

Earth needs the alien technology being offered to reverse the global problems that can't be fixed but it comes with a price. With females outnumbering males by eight to one, an agreement is forged to trade brides for technology. All great and wonderful until Sara is forced to be one of the said brides being traded.

It isn't until after Sara and the other women board the alien ship that she finds out that her government lied and she and the other women are to be sold at auction as sex slaves. Her own government is responsible which is why, when she is miraculously freed, she refuses to return home to Earth. She would rather take her chances on Relon.

It is only after experiencing the prejudice all aliens have against Earthers that Sarah hatches a drastic plan that involves offering herself as a bride to a Parri male who is about to be life bonded to another female. A female who obviously doesn't deserve York. It's up to Sara to convince York to change his mind and choose her before it's too late.

* * *

A feel good stand alone installment in the "Vorge Crew" series. Has some heat to it in the adult content scenes but otherwise a sweet romantic tale where the good guy gets his girl and they live happily ever after.

The main characters meet by accident but it sets a chain of events that end up with the two being bonded and then build a relationship. While I appreciated the build up to their eventual HEA, I really didn't get the chemistry that should have been part of the formula. It was more a case of Earth women are hot as all my friends have hooked up with them so I might as well do the same.

The secondary characters are the crew of the 'Vorge' so some character couples are those featured in earlier installments and others are those who will be featured in the future. Personally, I can't wait for Raff's story.

Overall, this is a sweet straightforward SciFi alien romance that includes adult content scenes. The story also pulls in a mild story line twist that for me it was more awkward than anything except that I think it was needed as it sets the stage for another of the 'Vorge' crew members to be featured in the future. Fans of this author and series will appreciate this newest installment for sure though for me it didn't rise above my expectations for York's character. Still enjoyable though.

3 Estrellas!

I loved this! It was funny and sweet with just enough heat. Plus a little bit of action. LD at her Sci-fi best! This was perfect for my mood today. I can't wait to see how Raff finds love. Happy reading!

Not my favorit, but I still liked it.

It was an easy romance. Both Sara and York fell in love too easily.

York was lonley and wanted a mate; Sara was in dire straits and wanted a way out. So, since York was nice and gentle, Sara decided that he will be her savior. York was OK with that since she was much nicer than the woman an agency choose for him.

That's it. They get on board of Vorge. They mate. The crew is happy for York. The crew adopts Sara.

There's a small skirmish with an evil prince who bought Sara as a slave before she was freed by the custom officers where all the crew fights to save her, but that was the only tense moment here.

This seemed like a bridge novel between Dovis' and Raff's story.

Still it is sweet and York is a big softy.

Sara was drowning in fear, betrayal, and most of all, shock. Her stomach heaved but at least she didn’t throw up.

This book starts with Sara being sold for alien technology. It’s a sad beginning and both Sara and York need some happiness. That’s why they’re perfect for each other. I didn’t like the beginning of their relationship. I was scared they were both settling. They just wanted someone, anyone. But their love grew and they became more and it was super cute. I still don’t know what York does on the ship and there was no mention of what Sarah will do. Maybe more information will come? I doubt it but one can wish. Am I the only one that wishes these books had more meat to them? Or that the pods didn’t exist to force more conversation. Those mind reading pods are very convenient.

3 it’s okay stars

This one was better than the second one, but I still liked the first one best. I liked the way the book started. York is a nice guy and he needs a mate and so he goes to a dating agency and gets “engaged” to a diva.

Sometimes it’s nice to listen to a book about a nice guy. He’s truly a nice guy and there really isn’t anything off putting about that. Sara wants to help York and she’s lonely too so she offers herself to be mated to him.

The storyline was good, I thought it could have used a touch more steam, but that probably will be my compliant for the rest of the series. I thought the last hour of the audio was a snore but luckily the books are about 4 hours in length.

I thought the narrator was fine, but I do miss Calie Dalton’s voice!

York has been lonely since his best friends Cathian and Dovis found mates. He's determined to find love so he resorts to an arranged marriage with a female from his race. She ends up being a total Biatch and thanfully Sara is there to intervene.
A bit insta-love but still entertaining.

3.5 stars.

Earth is overpopulated with women so the government is trading destitute and lower class women for alien technology, and telling the populace they are mail-order brides rather than alien sex-slaves! I can totally see that happening, unfortunately!

Our heroine Sara was one of these women, taken out of a dead-end clerical job and herded into an alien ship and sold to an alien prince as part of his harem. Luckily for her, the trade told place in a planet that abhorred slavery and she was saved and sent to a shelter. However, that doesn't mean she's safe from the aliens in this new planet who are prejudiced against humans.

York is the big blue Viking warrior from the Vorge, on the planet to find a bond mate since his captain Cathian (book 1) and best friend Dovis (book 2) have mated and he feels lonely. He settled for a woman from his race who's willing to go into space with him even though she's a bridezilla, treating him like a servant in public, and that's when Sara saw him.

Sara offered to bond with York instead, and I really enjoyed those scenes where York took all the abuse by bridezilla...LOL!

Another short fun read.

This was almost a DNF. I thought both the leads were very one dimensional. If it didn't have any sex scenes it could have been a kid book. The book started off OK. York is lonely and looking for a mate. He thinks he's found one even if she isn't very nice. Sara was rounded up by the earth government and traded to alien slavers for technology. Sara is rescued and freed on a planet that has outlawed slavery. Sara asks York to dump the evil woman he was going to bond with and take her instead. After that the dialog becomes so childish and repetitive. The book was quite short so I skimmed my way to the end. I think I'm done with this author. Too many of her books are similar. Characters have become interchangeable. Names and plot settings change but the meat and character dialog is the same.

Yes Yes York! I love this story, I love how protective he is but not only that Sara is just as protective. I love the way they came to be.

Life for a human isn’t all that its cracked up to be in space. And Sara sees York and how he was being treated by a female that was to become his and she just couldn’t understand that kind of cruelty. So she seeks to change it and in the process, she is about to change her own life.

York is perfect for Sara but she is just as perfect for him. I love that the crew just accepted her with open arms just as they have everyone else mate. These stories are all so individual just connected. I can’t wait for the last book.

The narration is awesome again I love that each book is done in a new narrative but each narrator really brings these characters their own voices.

I usually love Laurann Dohner’s books. This one was ok, because it didn’t really have a storyline/plot. It did have lots of hot love scenes.
Sara is a human on a strange alien planet. She is desperate to get off of the planet. She overheard a conversation with a female Parri alien talking to her intended mate. Nodo is very cold hearted and rude to York. York is just a really nice and handsome alien, she, Sara has a plan.
She convinces York to choose her as his bonded mate, because Nodo doesn’t care about him. He accepts Sara and they leave to start their new lives on a spaceship.
Not too much, if any action.
This is a 3 1/2 Stars.

Planet Earth is crumbling, and although there is no news that it can cease to exist, it is certain that humanity has long lost its moral sense. And living under hunger and disease, with overpopulation (there are eight women for each man), the government sees no problem selling its women to aliens as long as it can get alien technology to remedy their problems.
That's why Sara ends up being kidnapped.
At first they told women that they would marry aliens, but after being put in cages, the truth came out: they would be taken to be sex slaves.
From the 20 women taken, 18 had already been chosen.
The other who stayed with Sara preferred to hang herself over an uncertain fate.
But upon arriving on planet Relon, the ship was intercepted by police, who arrested the hijackers and released Sara.
Not wanting to return to Earth (afraid of being sold again), she became a charity case. It was provided shelter with a bed; job; clothing and 3 meals a day.
But Sara's life was not easy.
Humans were not welcome, and female aliens ignored/hated her.
Sara worked serving drinks, and got all kinds of bad proposals; everyone thought she was a whore.
An afternoon on public transport, she saw a terrifying scene.
A tall muscular blue alien was being humiliated by a female of the same race. It seemed that they would be married soon, but the female's reasons were negligible.
Later, in her work, Sara met the blue male, and knew his history.

York worked on the vessel The Vorge.
He was a blue-skinned, humorous Parri with an interesting characteristic: he liked to be sociable.
Since his two friends (Cathian and Dovis) were life-locked (and spending free time with their mates), York felt lonely, and decided to bond when they arrived at planet Relon.

The only one willing to live in a ship was a female of the same race. Although the relationship between a Parri couple had a (sexual) difference, the female being the dominatrix and the male, the submissive, this characteristic did not happen outside the bed.

When York met Sara at the bar where she worked, he was attracted to her. There were two human females at The Vorge, and York enjoyed Nara and Mari.

As Sara's life was in danger in the shelter, she had the idea to save herself and help York get rid of that horrible female (And the whole scene from Sara's proposal to finally going to The Vorge is very funny. Worth reading.)

But when it seemed that the couple would live their own fairy tale, a diplomatic fight broke out and York would have to give up on Sara.

Maybe not...

Loved York from the first meeting. Then he just became so much more to love. He wanted what he saw the other crew members finding. A male wanting love and willing to take what was dished at him to have it. I am certain he did not expect to love the one option he did not think of.

Perfect York.

Omg what a sweetheart York was!!! A male that needs constant skin-to-skin contact in order to feel happy, be able to eat or sleep..... I want one NOW!!! When I read that I thought to myself; a guy that loves to cuddle in bed, who has to constantly be touching his partner, enjoys her company and conversation plus needs regular sexual contact. And add to that a caring, loving, kind and sweet personality, a tall, muscular defined body with black hair, blue eyes and blue skin and you have yourself the perfect man inside and out. I am officially in LOVE with a fictional character, York is my dream man no doubt about it!!! I enjoyed reading about him so much I just wished the book would have been longer. It was just too short for my liking, I mean they met and within 24hrs they were bonded. This was definately a love at first sight type of story but I would have liked it more if they'd gotten to know each other a little better before she took a chance with a complete stranger even if he seemed like an absolute sweetheart. The jumping his bones part immediately after getting to the ship who could blame her, I mean just look at the guy I'd have done the exact same thing. I'd also have loved an epilogue at the end to tide us over on how things were left, were told they were trying for a baby and it would have made my year if they'd made a cute little mini York. Fingers crossed something is revealed in Raff's book as that's two couples which have mentioned babies and were left in the dark.

York in Books On Track

Sara, a human woman sold into slavery to aliens by her planet's government meets York, a gentle blue giant resigned to bonding with an awful woman of his race to escape debilitating loneliness.

The two find comfort in each other and decide to bond to each other and become a unit against a harsh world that doesn't make it easy on them.

Thankfully they have great allies in York's crewmates, who help them face the threats standing between them and their happily ever after.

The series continues with the story of another crew member of the Vorge, the lethal Raff.

I went into this book waiting for fast and furious; It was not.
Knowing York, I was waiting for sassy kick ass heroine to be his match in every sense. Then, as I was reading the book, I realized how wrong I was, York did not need kick ass, he needed a sweet, romantic, heartwarming love story that makes me want to curl in bed with a hot chocolate and warm socks, I love it!, this will be one of my re-reads for sure. York has always been my favorite, he is funny and sweet, I just keep remembering when he lay down in the chair before asking Nara to hit him 😊 my kind of man. Sara was ok, I enjoy her practical no-nonsense way of thinking, she knows how to get her point across, but she is feminine enough to make York feel the way she should as a Parri male, strong and protective.
Can wait for the next book. Give me some Raff!!

I needed a couple audiobooks, and this series is included in Audible Escapes, so I thought I’d give it a shot. York is a Parri alien; they are a social species, and he’s been struggling with loneliness after his BFF’s have found their mates. He’s matched with a complete bitch, but still plans to mate. Sara was sold by Earth’s govt. to a slave trader in exchange for technology. She’s been recently freed when she overhears his future mate berating him. The two run into each other and decide to be mates.

York isn’t the typical alpha alien; he’s very tame, and ass kissy-ish. Sara’s alright, she’s had it rough, and is tough not whinny. My only complaint is that there’s just not much to the plot. There really aren’t any obstacles in the couple’s way, and I was a smidge bored at times.

A tad too short to have the depth that makes a story extra special for me, but nevertheless a good storyline and nice characters.
Different from most romance books, there wasn’t any conflict between the main characters, but the conflict was created from the outside. That isn’t a big problem but it doesn’t allow the MCs to grow as they could have IMO.

This is my least favorite book of the series. I listened to the first half which was a mistake because the narrator's voice annoyed me even though I loved her in the second book. I think she actually changed her voice and so I couldn't like the book even when I completed it by reading. I do admit that York made me want to hug him in the beginning.
