Each book in the Texas Ranger Heroes series can be read as a standalone, and guarantees a fast-paced mystery combined with sweet romance.
Lynn Shannon is a Publishers Weekly bestselling author of inspirational romantic suspense.
After moving from Texas to Greece, Lynn turned her passion for reading into a love of writing. She lives with her husband, two children, an extremely spoiled dog, and a pair of chirpy lovebirds. Experiencing life in a new country has introduced her to delicious foods—like Yemista and Kourabiedes—which now share a place on her favorites list alongside pecans and Blue Bell ice cream. She also never passes up coffee, chocolate, or the chance to watch cute animal videos.
A reunion romance with an angsty past and a whole lot of intrigue and danger besides! I'm loving this Texas Ranger Heroes series -- I am three down with two to go. And I've read the books out of order so I can vouch for the fact that they can be read as standalones. I just have #3 and #5 to read now before I'm all caught up.
While shorter than most trade suspense novels, Shannon still manages to deliver a full story with fleshed out characters and enough chills and thrills to keep an avid romantic suspense aficionado in a frantic page-turning frenzy. Love the balance between action and investigation, with enough pauses in-between for Megan and Luke to reconnect and work out past hurts. All while coping with the dizzying twists and turns this 'closed case' provides.
I listened to the audible edition of this book -- narrator Cindy Piller made my 'reading' experience that much more enjoyable
Ranger Redemption took me by surprise, being one of the best written crime/mysteries I've read. The small town connections left me struggling to keep straight who was who a couple of times, but it also made for a well thought-out mystery full of self-interested entanglements.
The second chance romance between Megan and Luke didn't require a lot of time spent on their attraction, so more time could be spent on the well-paced plot
The narration - with an appropriate Texas twang - kept me grounded in the story the whole time.
I look forward to reading the other books in the series!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Surprised at how much I liked this book. It is a 250 page book so not a really long novel but yet had everything without wasting a lot of words. Loved the characters, Luke and Megan, and how they worked together to solve the crimes all while having to dodge bullets to stay alive. A super good ending also.
Great action, mystery and romance. The characters were very interesting and fit the story very well. Reunited, and still very much in love brought in the love and romance that makes for good reading, thank you, Jack.
the Texas Rangers are a special breed of law enforcement.
This series follows Rangers with a connection to a region where a few had grown up.
Back as part of their normal operations, first Grady and now Luke find their way back to a second chance with women they loved.
Megs is now a criminal defense attorney - she was still in law school when Luke passed on the info she gave to him about her brother to the Sheriff. With her brother in prison for a murder she does not think he committed, but one he confessed to, Megs broke off her engagement to Luke and has had little to no contact with him in the interim - until Luke calls to let her know he just saved her aunt from a mysterious and near lethal car accident. Somehow, neither is convinced that Aunt June, a former heavy duty mechanic, confused power steering fluid and break fluid.
Brother Wade is attacked in prison, Megs assaulted, and the house she grew up in with her brother and her aunt burnt down - with Megs inside.
Luke managed to save her from the fire. Is there evidence that her aunt thought might save her brother, and maybe the only things to keep all of them safe? Can Megs, Luke and the Rangers get to the evidence and the bottom of a mysterious connection to the local Sheriffs Department?
Faith, love and a good kevlar vest might come in very handy in this exciting adventure - available on KU.

Luke and Megan get a second chance to be together. Luke and Megan split up when her brother went to jail for a crime he didn't commit. Luke kept information from Megan about her brother and when it was revealed she was hurt that he didn't tell her. She was also hurt when Luke took information to his boss about her brother that she had told him. Megan's aunt is in an accident after revealing that she has found new details that prove her brother is innocent. There is a lot of suspense and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. I didn't see all of the twist and turns coming. The ending was surprising. A great book and I loved how Megan got her faith back after she turned away from GOD. A wonderful story.

Another great book in the ranger series this is Luke and Megs story
Luke and Megs where an item in a previous time but he held back information and Megs brother Wade was convicted of a crime she is sure he didn't commit so she broke off their engagement Now she is a lawyer and he is a ranger and danger is staking her family Luke contacts her to say her aunt as just been rescued from a car accident but would a qualifies mechanic really confuse brake and power steering il and her brothers has been bashed in prison when her house burns down while she is in it and Luke is the one to save her they must work together to find out who is pulling the shots and what the great mystery is. Will the rangers be able to keep her and her family safe and will she get a second chance with the man she has never stopped loving
Megan Hunt comes home from Houston when she learns her aunt has had an accident that may not be an accident. Her ex-fiance Luke Tatum is the one who saved her aunt after the accident. Three years ago Frannie was murdered. Megan's brother was arrested and sentenced for the murder but there is some question as to whether he is really guilty. This book is full of danger - fires, whizzing bullets and disguised evil. The narrator does a good job. The story is well written and draws you in. I knew of the true bad guy for a good part of the book but did not know the scope of the corruption until it was revealed. The author gives us some nice parts after the danger is resolved, which makes me happy. I prefer a book that doesn't end immediately after the suspense portion of romantic suspense is resolved. The author provided me an audible code for review of the audiobook.
I really enjoyed RANGER REDEMPTION because second chance romances are one of my favorite tropes. Megan and Luke’s story pulled me in right awaY, the mix of heartbreak, danger and rekindled love made it an intense and emotional read.
The suspense kept me turning the pages, especially as Megan tried to clear her brother’s name and Luke struggled between duty and his feelings for her. The mystery around Megan’s aunt added even more tension, and the twists kept me guessing until the end.
RANGER REDEMPTION delivers a great balance of romance and action, I couldn’t put it down. I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
The second book in the Texas Ranger Heroes series a book that kept me turning pages. This is Criminal defense attorney, Megan Hunt who wants to help her brother prove he did not do the crime he was charged for. Texas Ranger Luke Tatum does not want her doing that but when Megan is attacked he now must keep her safe. Together these two must find out what really happened. A well written story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is more mystery than romance but Meagan and Luke do get their HEA. Theirs is a second chance romance as they were engaged until Luke provided evidence to the police which got Meagan’s brother arrested and sent to prison for a murder he didn’t commit. Working together when new evidence comes to light, they clear Wade and get back together. No sex scenes so if that is a preference you may want to avoid this one. Relationships were great and the mystery was good as well.
Luke is a Texas Ranger, and Megan is a defense attorney having dealt with trust issues when her brother was accused of killing, and now in prison. The engagement was broken. Back now, and trusting no one, she wants to appeal for her brother, when she is attack. Her aunt is almost killed, and now having to except protection from Luke. A good thriller, that keep one searching for clues as the story unfolds. Enjoyed the narration thought it added to the story and the tension in the plot. Given audio for my voluntary review and and my honest opinion.
Luke’s and Meg’s story was so well planned and executed. The mystery was well thought through and even the reason for the second chance romance was so believable. Anyone who has lived in a place where drugs were king and those who were supposed to be upholding the law were suspect will enjoy Meg’s journey to find redemption for her brother! I enjoy listening to this narrator! She does an excellent job of reading this genre, and I am sure that she would do well with other genres as well. I received a review copy of this audiobook, and I am leaving a voluntary review.
I’m enjoying making my way through Ms. Shannon’s backlist. The romance is good, though. Could be ramped up a bit. The case was well thought out, well executed with plenty of twists and turns to hold my attention. My only issue with this book is that there was a Dan and a Vikki in the last book as side characters, and the names reappear in book two on completely different characters unrelated to the first. Not a huge deal, but it did pull me out of the story a bit. Otherwise, I’m enjoying my binge and look forward to Weston’s story.
'You didn't just say you were sorry, you showed me you were'
Megan and Luke have a huge amount of baggage and misunderstandings to work through, but the hurt and wariness is quickly forgotten when their lives are targeted. Danger, corruption, abuse, misdirection and fear have a way of making you evaluate your life and those important to you. I loved joining Megan and Luke on this journey of discovery and healing to give their love a second chance. A great series which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
I really like suspenseful books. This was a book that had you guessing. Clean language yet you got the message. I have read so many books like this and they all seem to have the same description like bouncing on their toes, rocking on their heels, looking up through there eyelashes, how do you do that? and always bitting their lips. Guess I jyst don't know people that do those things. I would recommend this book for its faith based messages and getting involved with the characters. Goodbooky.
Really enjoyed reading about Megan and Luke. Luke is a Texas Ranger who was once engaged to Megan. When her brother is put in prison due to Luke’s statement to the sheriff, Megan broke the engagement. A few years later they are brought together because of a serious accident involving her aunt. The two must forgive each other and work together to unravel the schemes of a deranged murderer in order to discover the truth behind the murders without being the next victims.
The Ranger series continues with high intensity action! Lynn Shannon weaves tales of suspense that draw you in and keep you guessing. Book 2 centers around Wade being framed for murder, and his sister Megan and aunt seeking justice. But poking around in the past has put Megan in the sights of the killer. Texas Ranger Luke Tatum becomes embroiled when Megan's aunt is injured in a car accident and secrets abound. But can Luke and Megan put their past differences aside to figure out who's behind all the mayhem??
Suspense and drama were apparent in this book from page one. I enjoyed reading this book. The cast of characters were likable. I didn't find a great deal of chemistry between the two main characters but it did not distract from my enjoyment of the book. I liked the drama. I loved how the story played out. I would have liked him to be a bit more alpha male but given the premise of the book and the underlying story that was between them, it was good as written.
This was a very good story. It is fast moving and very well written. There was no sex and no foul language and it still managed to keep me focused. We have a lady lawyer and a Texas Ranger who were once engaged. That engagement was called off 3 years ago. Now they are working together to solve a mystery. They discover drug dealing and murder and corruption in the sheriffs' office. And of course they realize that they never stopped loving each other.
This series always pleases. There is suspense, a love story, great characters and really bad villians. Lynn Shannon is quite adept at setting the scene. Luke and Megan were engaged years before but a travesty of justice tore them apart. Megan returns when her aunt has an automobile accident that sets off the fireworks. Crime seems rampant in Texas! Great story and I am looking for my next Texas Ranger Heroes book!
She handed over some evidence and now her brother is found guilty and sent to prison. Now her aunt has something that may help her get him out but is told not to trust her ex. He feels guilty for doing it and now he needs to make amends. Can they find the truth? Will they free her brother? Where will it lead them? see if her brother gets free
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Luke and Megan were engaged, until he turned information over that sent her brother to prison. A few years later, her aunt was in a car accident. After leaving a mysterious message on Megan's phone. She heads home and teams up with Luke to solve, not one, but five different mysteries leading back to a few different people. Action packed from the start. Loved it.
What a book! The hard work to get her brother out of prison took in some unexpected characters. I read so many books that I usually know the ending before the author takes me there but Lynn Shannon is not your typical author. Each book - so far - has pulled a twist on me! I highly suggest this Christian Mystery book to all lovers of a well written mystery!
As with most books in the Christian Suspense Romance genre, the story is a bit formulaic. But like a good Hallmark romance movie, the story was a light, fun ride. Lynn Shannon does a good job of driving the plot forward through suspense and action without sacrificing the underlying romance. I enjoyed Ranger Redemption as a quick, light read and recommend it for anyone looking for clean, contemporary romance suspense with Christian themes.
Ranger Redemption is a great mystery read with the right balance of suspense, intrigue, and second chance romance. The plot was terrific with twists and turns, and the characters were well-written. The story and mystery drew me straight in as Luke and Megan work to uncover the person responsible for a woman's death and who was behind Megan's aunt's car accident and prove Megan's brother Wade's innocence. Great read.
Story about Meghan and Luke, life long friends and previously engaged couple, when Meghan’s brother gets in trouble and causes issues between them. Fast forward a few years and Aunt June calls Meghan to come home she found evidence to prove wades innocents. When Aunt June is in a car accident Luke steps up to keep Meghan safe to figure out what her aunt uncovered.
For the first time in a long time, I wanted to flip to the last page and see who did it. I love these books and the great feelings in them. Good, clean and God driven they are wonderful mysteries with strong heroines and committed heroes. Don’t get me wrong I love a good rom com and dirty deeds and words are not and instant no no,but these books are so refreshing and well written but not pushy or judgmental. Well worth the read.
