I feel like this quote aptly captures the general theme for this volume. We see Yuna, Akari, and Rio each get the determination to voice their feelings even if it may be too late.
So, the main event in this volume is the culture festival. We have the love triangle between Agatsuma, Rio, and Yuna. This was probably my favorite aspect of the volume. However, I have mixed feelings about the inclusion of this love triangle because let’s be honest, Agatsuma had no real chance here. I wish he was more of a serious contender, but he was never on Yuna’s radar lol. Either way, the conclusion to this small conflict was cute and satisfying. I smiled so much.
On the Akari front, her middle school friends and her ex-boyfriend, Ryosuke, make a visit to the festival. However, their visit leads to Akari realizing some truths about herself that she wants to change. We really get to know more about Akari’s emotions and the things she does to protect her heart. In addition, she is able to have a moment with Inui where she allows herself to be vulnerable and honest about how she feels. The character development for Akari in this volume was really well done.
Overall, I gave this volume a 4.3, but I really did enjoy it so I will bump it up to 5 stars!
