Men suck! August had learned that lesson the hard way. As a private investigator, she had seen every type of sleaze that the human race could spew out and it had left her jaded, tired, and above all, alone. Reese had believed in love once. His life had been damn near perfect until circumstances broke it all into jagged pieces. Now, he’s just a cop. His job is all he has left. Reese feels sparks fly the first time sees the sassy blonde P.I., but August refuses to pay attention to anything outside the job, especially a handsome cop who could crack the shell she’s worked so hard on building. When their work forces them into close contact the heat between them threatens to burn out of control. Two broken people, can they come together to heal each other? Or is the job all they’ll ever have?
Tee Smith lives in a small town in country Western Australia. Her four children are all grown and she recently became a proud grandma. Her novels are primarily romantic suspense. She reads almost everything, but loves nothing more than a good psycho-thriller.

August by Tee Smith is book 1 in the Blue Belle's Investigations series. It's a romantic suspense novella in which August works as a Private Investigator for Blue Belle's and specializes in cheating partners and eventually mayhem ensues. I loved August, Reece and Mercy. These characters are great, flawed and felt real emotions. The interactions between August and Reece we're great filled with sass, tension and banter. I'm looking forward to more from Blue Belles.
A sweet refreshing love story, although most men were a..holes, as she saw every day at work, she secretly hoped to find a good man. After a tragedy at work she finds a chance for happiness will she take it or run from it? Read this delightful entertaining story and see!b
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am so glad it's part of a series! Great chemistry between characters, loads of humour, very well written (and I adore reading work by Australian authors), and an excellent balance between the romantic and action/detective threads. Looking forward to the next one!
This book is short and sweet, it’s straight into the story that counts and ends beautifully we know that for a heartbeat at least August is prepared to follow where her heart leads her with Reese and I’m hoping that with other books in this series we get little snippets of how their relationship is going.
Not for me this one, the characters were all a bit one dimensional, I just wanted a bit more depth. I did like the storyline of the detective agency and the potential danger.
I found it hard to concentrate on this book while it wasn't very long, but it was worth it
It was easy to see that these characters each have flaws, but are flaws we're an asset to them. The part with the little boy was upsetting but vital. The author did a good job at writing this.
I liked Reese and August and their relationship. Mercy, August’s boss was pretty cool as well. The premise that August was jaded due to her stepfather being a jerk and her job getting the dirt on cheating spouses was fine.
August, the main character, was the worst character I've ever read. She was horrible to everyone, and she really didn't progress by the end of the book. I don't know why the love interest would ever fall for her.
I really liked August. She has spirit and attitude and a big heart buried beneath it all. Great character development, clean editing, and if there were a little more spice instead of glossing over in the bedroom, I probably would have given this 5 starts.
