Sacred Geometry and Magical Symbols

Rate this book
All symbols originate in geometric figures which give form to the observed world as well as the microcosm and macrocosm. Sacred geometry is a teaching that focuses on geometric proportions and patterns in nature. The knowledge of magical symbols and sacred geometry was revered and preserved by many ancient civilisations including those in Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and Greece. Magical symbols and geometry worked together as keys to understanding nature and the philosophical meaning of existence.

This book is a simple guide to understanding magical symbols by taking in account their original geometric patterns and mythological correlations. Each chapter addresses a different geometric figure and its derived magical symbols. It’s a journey from the source shape of the circle, the well from which the other shapes arise, to the Tree of Life where they all connect.

This book was a well-written, easy to understand guidebook on geometry as it related to life, culture, religion, nature and the concept of magic (that which we cannot explain with words but radiates around us all the same). This book would be a wonderful place to start if you are just entering into the realm of studying sacred geometry. Equally important is it's versatility in higher learning and understanding of sacred geometry and its uses. This is a book that I would recommend you keep as a reference guide to read time and time again as your navigate through the journey of opening your life to sacred geometry. It is small enough as to not be overwhelming, yet complex enough to engage your mind with new and greater understandings each time you open it's pages.

One of the things I absolutely loved about this book was the amount of diagrams, depictions, drawings, and images of the different symbols that have been used and held sacred all throughout our known history. They even carry the open-ended capacity to extend far beyond known or recorded history. I appreciate the great amount of research that was done in order to make this book possible. Only as we began to study the signs and symbols around us can we truly come to understand how cultures both ancient and modern have come into being and grown into something greater. Ancient cultures built their religions, governments, commerce, education, medicine and so much more from these symbols. In modern society we have taken much of what we learned from them and built upon that foundation. Unfortunately, we have lost much of the knowledge associated with these symbols and the practices used to honor the. Just imagine what we could accomplish if we could reawaken to the deeper learning found amongst these wonderfully dynamic symbols!

Awesome

It's amazing although a bit too superficial - great overview though... :)) I would've also included more of basic signs and symbols... Overall worth the money and 5 points :))

This book is ideal for those of us who are looking for a simple guide to magic symbols and how to use them. It makes perfect sense that all the symbols come from geometry and this seems to be the way to understanding them. Very well done! It's easy to read but very informative. It's the kind of a book I will keep by my side and keep returning to. Just perfect.

Nicely organized arrangement of Sacred Geometry

I enjoyed reading this book of knowledge. Great collection and nicely written. Following this author for more books. Tree of life, flower of life, seed of life, torus, pentagram and hexagram relation are all very interesting. Good bibliography as well.

This is if not the most important reading I have ever done over the past 20 years on the search on sacred Geometry. It was so precise and clear. I love every second i spent reading this book by Iva. I am looking forward to reading more books by the same Author.

A pleasant primer for the topic of geometry in various spiritual traditions of the world. While I wish the author would gave gone a little bit more in-depth, I did appreciate the limitations she presented clearly of the scope of her work. I will be suggesting this to beginners. I found the history of symbols very interesting. It is a short but but has some peaks into the past and ways to meditate and utilize these symbols today.

I didn't realize how profound this inform ation became on my research journey. This book was an insightful delight. The Yiddish alphabet is located inside a hexagram and the Norse runes
