Hell House

Rate this book
Jenni Yung just moved to south Texas where she is getting to know new people. Her neighbors seem nice enough and are good Christian folks. A week before Halloween, they invite her to a “Haunted House.” This place turns out to be a Christian Hell House where horrible things are depicted. There are reenactments of Satanic sacrifice, souls being tortured in hell and other horrific images. All with the goal of scaring attendees into accepting Jesus.

However, Jenni has a dark secret. A secret that doesn’t mesh well with the theme of the Hell House. Things take a wild turn as a whole new Hell is unleashed. Not even the Power of Christ can close this box once it's been opened. Will anyone survive the night in the Hell House?

This book was amazing. He hit the spot with the over board Christians. Love the fact her secret was awesome and deadly. That reverend was so crazy. I give this book 5 crazy religious people out of 5

A Witch & a Satanist walk into A Christian Haunted House....

Despite fantasy aspects, the book takes a good, realistic look at religious extremists from the POV of respectfully minded religious individuals including a Pagan, a Satanist, a Christian, and even one still exploring different spiritual beliefs. Outside of its ethical message, the horror scenes are great and the storyline is relatable to our society. My complaint is that I wish it were longer :) Nonetheless, an enjoyable and fun read.

What the fuck did I just read?

I'm going to start by saying the only reason this book got 2 stars is because the beginning and middle kept me reading. Beyond that, the writing was messy, full of errors and seems to be a knockoff of Stephen King's Firestarter. This book is nowhere worth the hour and a half I spent reading it. The story line needs development. It starts with the main character burning sage in her new apartment to her being a full on witch. It made NO SENSE whatsoever. As an avid Stephen King reader, it seemed like a poor knockoff of Firestarter. While I give props to the authors for keeping me intrigued for the first half of the book, the ending sucks. Don't waste your time (even though it's a free read) I encourage the author to contact me so I can maybe assist in his character development, so his next book isn't such a waste and disappointment.
