As a new gardener, this book is a great reference. It's well organized, easy to read, and has instructions for over 100 different common plants. The pictures and diagrams are well made. I'll be re-reading this again around January next year so that I can prep for my garden properly.

I think this book does a good job of reviewing just about everything you need to know to save seeds. I like that each plant had its own page with illustrations of what the seed looks like. Unfortunately, there are several plants that were not listed in the book at all. I will probably need to find another book with an illustration of what the tiny Thyme seed looks like and how I go about gathering it.

Doesn't include fruits or perhaps all of the veggies that you might possibly be interested in, but it's a good volume to get a beginner started (and probably also to keep on hand in future seasons to come).
