Quick & Dirty #2

My Irish Kings

Rate this book
Five years I’ve been kept under the control of Ireland’s most vicious gang leader. Now that I’m eighteen, he’s forcing me to marry him. I’d rather die a thousand deaths.

I escape to the only place I can be safe--home of my captor’s biggest rival, the Irish Kings.

There’s X, the living weapon with a haunted past. His vicious touch helps release all this anger in me.

Jace, the teddy bear with a warrior’s heart. His melodic Irish brogue is a balm to my soul.

And Magnar King, their intimidating leader. Whose eyes flare with hunger when I’m near, yet backs away like I’ve burned him when we touch. He doesn’t remember me. But I remember him.

They’re all so different. But they all make me feel safe. They awaken needs in me—strange needs.

I want all of them.

But I just might need all of them to heal.

This is a smoking hot yet emotional reverse-harem romance, a full-length, standalone novel. Three sexy Irish brothers-in-arms who aren’t afraid to share and take their special woman to the ends of her pleasure.

Sienna’s Quick & Dirty series consists of standalone novels which are hotter, dirtier and quicker than her other novels.

Really lives up to the Quick and Dirty theme

I really liked this book. It was fast paced and got into the romance very quickly. I love that it's set in Ireland and the characters were Irish. Each of the men are hot in their own ways. The gang aspect was interesting and I liked seeing characters from the author's other books. X was my favorite guy because he so dark, but I loved Jace and Magnar also. This was a quick read, but very good.

It feels like just yesterday I posted the review for Three Irish Brothers, which is the first book of this Quick and Dirty series.

The good news is that you can read both independently as the characters are not remotely related so you can start easily with My Irish Kings first and if you enjoyed go to the Three Irish Brothers.

Pretty much the series name should tell you everything and as always I am going to try and avoid giving away spoilers.  Let us be honest here, you would not want me to spoil it for you.

Now if you are a regular visitor on my blog, then you know that I am a huge fan of Sienna's and have posted a few reviews of her books already.  As such, it comes as no surprise when I tell you that I enjoyed this one very much.

Sienna is always very consistent in her writing and the books are always of fantastic quality.  The characters are complex, likable and relatable on a very deep level.  I have hot a point where when a new comes out, I know I am going to read it on the spot and love it.

I am happy to report that these 2 books are a tad lighter, Sienna has a habit of ripping my heart to shreds. We go dark, but not as dark as for example the Dark Romeo Trilogy.

The blurb gives out a lot of info already and I am not going to spoil it, but I can tell you that I read it one go and loved it.

If you have read Sienna's other books then you know what you are getting, if this is your first then honestly, it is a great start and I hope you pick up her other books.

I am going to very highly recommend My Irish Kings, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Loved loved loved this book. I absolutely could not put it down. It is nonstop from page 1. Poor Waylyn she has been through so much pain and has to escape her crazy fiancé. It brings her to 3 amazing but different men. Magnar,X and Jace have all been through so much but are like brothers. They all come together to save Waylyn. This is such a great book and at times is emotional. This is one of those books that I would read again and again.

I so enjoyed this book. The characters were well thought out, likeable and the story engaging. It was the perfect entertainment for me during my first holiday of the year, not too heavy, yet exciting. The steamy scenes were definitely that and I loved how the FMC was able to see something special and attractive in all of her lovers. A true connection of hearts. Beautiful!

If you've never read a Sienna book before, there's only one thing you need to know:  She writes some of the HOTTEST stories you will ever read!

My Three Kings is the next book in her Quick and Dirty reverse harem series, and this one is hotter than the last. Three smoking hot Irishmen? Check. A hint of danger? Check. Sex so hot that your e-reader fogs up? Double Check!

Waylyn is on the run after escaping her captor. And she runs right to the only man she knows can keep her safe. Magnar King, leader of the Irish Kings. Not only does Magnar vow to protect her, so do his men; the mysterious, brooding X and the suave and charming Jace.

This book is fast paced, and easily read in one sitting, because you won't want to put it down. Each character is unique and brings the perfect balance to the others, making them all fit together.

If you've read any of Sienna's other books, you'll recognize some cameo's from other characters, which is a very nice touch. I love when authors can bring characters from previous stories into current ones.

I would absolutely not be opposed to Sienna bringing these four back in another, longer story. For now, I will sit tight and await her next set of hot book boyfriends!

I am hoping that Sienna Blake NEVER tires of writing this Quick & Dirty series. Like, ever. **Insert all the heart eyes here**

Miss Blake writes some of the most complex and intriguing characters. Magnar, Jace and X are all amazing men, each with their own personality, each stealing hearts with the turn of every page.

My favorite hands down is X. I gravitate to the darker characters and he stole my heart right from the start. He is everything. Broody. Dangerous. Mysterious. Intense. Hot. And while he is all of those things, the thing that endeared me to him the most was his relationship with Waylyn. The way they interacted and understood each other was most definitely my favorite thing.

If you are all about the heat in your reading, then fear not, for you will not be disappointed! As per Sienna Blake standards, she delivers tenfold!

I fell in love with this series with Royally Screwed and continue to adore it with each installment. Cannot wait for the next Quick & Dirty story!

Giving My Irish Kings 5 stars!

Angsty, om the drama of her crazy fiance (he forced and kidnapped her), no cheating, drama, slight secondary chara, sorta sexy times.

October 2019 reread: I reread this by accident sort of. I wanted to reread Three Irish Brothers for a specific mechanic and essentially got confused (because I read a lot and my memory is shit, it's a readability gift). But the upside is both books are so short and so good it is no imposition to reread them both. I still love the characters especially X, I've always had a thing for very broken and scared men. The plot is one of coming into one's own and realising that wants can be achieved. For all it's male characters it is a very female character. Waylyn has total control in the relationship and the ability to bring her men to their knees. That is something I enjoy reading.

“I’m just sayin’ ... Go, fuck, be merry.” - Charli King

We meet 18-year-old Waylyn in the back of a florist truck running from her wedding. She has one man in mind who can keep her safe, Magnar King. After meeting gang boss King she spends time with him and his right-hand man and giant teddy bear Jace and his enforcer and cold hard human X. King is the leader of the Irish Kings one of the feared Irish gangs, as is to be expected given the genre he has morals and will do anything for those who give him their loyalty. As time goes on the three men give her adorable nicknames, they are quite well thought out and give some insight into the characters. It might be worth noting that Waylyn is much younger than her men. She is the same age as Kings daughter Charli. Charli is an appealing secondary character she is smart sassy and loving. One of the brilliant quotes in the book is "She’s a fiery, sexy redhead who kicks ass. When I grow up, I want to be like Charli King." and don't we all.

I love the men so much. Their differences, their loyalty, the way they treat a young woman who as clearly lived beyond her years. Though X was easily my favourite. X is an ideal enforcer, scarred, broken and carrying too much. X reminds me of Zsadist from the BDB series (relevant book Lover Awakened) same scars, same role, same nature. Very much the same appeal. From the time he appeared I was squealing, Z is one of my fave book characters any character like that draws my love immediately. King and his brothers are bikies between that and Xs whole deal I was more than content.

For those who read Sienna Blake's other works there are links to Professor's Kiss and Dark Romeo, but it is independent of book one in this series. Possibly the best part about Sienna Blake's Quick and Dirty series is the way they are written. Ms Blake writes character and plot-driven stories with some brilliant fun. The smexy times aren't the focus. The stories are short enough to read quickly if you're between book but well enough that you are involved and want the character happiness and a good resolution. It is a satisfying story with appealing characters people get their comeuppance.

I can’t give her everything she needs. I can’t promise her a lifetime. That’s why most of the men share. At least then, she can have enough pieces between them to make a whole relationship. - Magnar King

4.5⭐️ for this why choose romance 😍

Waylyn is being forced to marry Ireland’s most ruthless gang leader so she runs.. right into the arms of his biggest rival, The Irish Kings. Magnar, the leader, is as intimidating as she expected him to be and for some reason can’t stand her. His weapon, X, won’t touch anyone but she can tell he wants to be close to her. Jace is a huge teddy bear and the first one she feels connected to. Will they keep her safe from her captor?

Thoroughly enjoyed this! I loved getting all these men’s backstories. Waylyn was really able to bond with them both separately, and together. I love how much they all grew together!

Poor Magnar.. I love that he was able to move forward and be happy! Jace.. ahh he deserves love so much! And X.. that man. Dangerous as fuck and only allows Waylyn to touch him. SWOON!

Can I request that this book be made into a full-length novel? I have so many more things I want to know about these people and this world. I was so wrapped up in everything Irish Kings, and I loved every second I spent reading My Irish Kings.

First, though I would have loved this book to be so much longer, there were so many things that could have been expanded on just for the excitement of knowing it, the story was complete, and I was satisfied with it. It is a Quick & Dirty novel, so I knew to expect the brevity, I just didn’t anticipate connecting with the characters so deeply I NEEDED to know more about their backstories.

X, in particular, is still an enigma to me. We were tantalized by hints of his past but never got the satisfaction of knowing anything about it. X is exactly the kind of character that calls to my soul, and I wish, so deeply, that I would have understood more about how he became the man he was in this book. He was so deeply destroyed, I could only guess what happened to him and hope that, now that he has found someone to care about him without reservation, he can finally begin to heal from all the sins of his past.

While I loved almost the entirety of the book, the epilogue felt strange to me. It almost felt like it was written by someone else, then tacked onto the end. It didn’t seem to have the same ease and mood as the rest of the book and left me feeling a little disappointed at the exact moment I should have felt content and full of hope for the characters.

ETA: After purchasing the final copy I checked the notes I made in my ARC with the published version and noted there was still a fairly notable continuity error concerning Charli’s eyes; in one chapter Waylyn describes them as being chocolate brown, but in the next Magnar says they are grey, like her mother’s, and a few other minor editorial issues that need to be addressed.

~ Finding their Way ~

The three men in this romance were distinct and all worked to protect Waylyn when she pulled the desperate stunt of running to her fiancé’s enemies as a last ditch to avoid marrying one of the most awful men of the Irish mafia. My favorite was X, the most broken of the three, with scars as deep physically as they were mentally. This little slip of a girl somehow manages to get under all their well-guarded defenses and makes a spot at their sides like she was born to be there. A bit of history has to be uncovered before we really understand the significance of the trouble Way brings to Magnus King’s door when she breaks into his home, but all are prepared to stand together to meet it when it does. Cannot wait to read more of this Irish mafia deliciousness!

In Irish Slang..This book was Quare! (pronounced kware)...look it up! Loved it!

A genie grants a woman one wish so she wishes for a man that is kind, caring and satisfies her emotional needs and can also cook, one who is intelligent and makes her feel protected, one who loves her unconditionally and will do anything for her. The genie grants her wish and 3 men appear! That's this story (minus the genie lol!).

Having finally escaped the cruel leader of Revolutionary Army (RA) gang in Ireland who has abused her for 5 years, the h makes her way to a rival gang (the Kings) seeking protection. This is the story of that escape, the RA's attempts and threats to get her back, discovery of who the h really is and the Kings (3 of them) who protect her and see to her needs. Each of them has scars, some visible, some not. Each has suffered and needs healing in their own way. This works... because of what she's been through she understands them and is able to heal them. At the same time each of them provides something she needs to heal her. Each provides something different. The. 3 men are brothers in arms, and grew up together. One is the leader of the kings, the other his enforcer and the last a most trusted and closest friend/member. Because they all trust each other and are so close, it works. There's enough intrigue to keep you interested and the sex is hot!

My only complaint is the description of the h (and the king leader's deceased wife) kept inter-changing which can be attributed to poor proof reading/editing. Since it only occurs about 3-4 times, most early in the book and once during the epilogue, it's not a real problem, just a little confusing in the beginning until you realize the error.

Had fun with this book. Before I read it, I looked up Irish accents because this book is written in first person (through each of the main characters eyes) so had to read the entire thing with an Irish accent! Of course my Irish accent is probably much better in my mind than spoken out loud...Good thing I read silently! 😁😁😁😁

Short and sweet mafia book. (Or was it an MC because honestly it seemed like an MC with mafia vibes?) Unfortunately, the shortness was the downfall for me. There was just so much left unanswered, and it seemed super rushed. Also, the FMC had literally turned 18 days before meeting the MMC's, one of which has an 18 year old daughter, and it's never really considered a problem? Or the fact that she has been sexually assaulted by Keegan? It also never clarified how long that had been going on, had he been assaulting her since he took her from the convent when she was 13???? Either way, she seemed way too sexually interested in the men for her situation. I also didn't like how they decided to keep their relationship private but also had the attitude of "it's no one's business" it's like... either you care or you don't.

Waylyn grew up on a convent, but 5 years ago she was taken from a man named Keegan who has since kept her prisoner in his gilded cage. But when he decides that she is to marry him she knows she has to leave. The one place Keegan wouldn't think to look for her is with his enemy, Magnar. So that's where she runs. Magnar lost his wife years ago and hasn't let another woman in since then because he still considers himself married. But when Waylyn shows up there is something about her that makes him want her. And when his two best friends X, Magnar's "weapon", and Jace the man who is always friendzoned, meet her they have the same pull towards the young woman. Determined to keep her safe from Keegan and find out what he wants her for they keep Waylyn close. As they spend more time with each other close becomes something more, and it looks like Waylyn may be the key to ending the fued between the two gangs.

HEA
Standalone, interconnected characters
*All Her Men* series and *Quick & Dirty* series
Why Choose, Age-gap

*over 18 readers only *

Trigger warnings
Child abuse
Inprisonment
SA

Waylyn (18, mfc)
X (mmc)
Jace (mmc, cousin of Magnar)
Magnar (mmc, leader of Irish Kings)
Caitlin (dead wife of Magnar, sister to Liam)
Liam (member of Irish Kings)
Keegan (gang leader)
Charli (Magnar's daughter)

Waylyn is running from Keegan, a horrible gang leader trying to force her to marry him. She's been his prisoner for 5 wretched years since he took her from the convent at age 13. Keegan runs the Revolutionist's Army, and the Irish Kings are his enemy. Magnar is the leader of the Kings and the widower of Caitlin. Waylyn breaks into his home to ask for his help. But it's the death anniversary of his wife, so he gets drunk and passes out. The next morning, Charli walks in on them. Then, while she's alone in the apartment, X comes in and catches her. Magnar returns, only to leave again, leaving her with X. When she breaks down sobbing, Jace takes over. She has intense feelings for all of them, but Magnar and X are standoffish. Until someone attacks her and Charli. If it's a war Keegan wants, it's a war he will get. Each man is broken in his own way. Can Waylyn be the glue to put them all back together? Will they all survive the war that is coming for them?

The things this book touches on will upset some readers. The emotions it will rip from your soul. Well written, has depth and layers.

I liked this book better than the first of the series. This is a stand alone. I noticed that some people mentioned how weird it was for Magnar to think too much about his wife and I think that it felt realistic to someone losing their spouse. I appreciate that he didn't disregard the memory of his first wife. I don't mind the age gap and I am glad it wasn't made into a big deal as it is in books quite often. I feel like X is still a mystery to me. Jace is nice. However, there wasn't that much explanation into their past or how all three of them got together except maybe a paragraph or so summarizing everything.

I appreciated Blake's relationship building in this book because I got to read Waylan's relationship as they grew with each male individually. I feel like that is what was lacking in the previous book. I do wish that there was more of a moment between Keegan and Waylan. Throughout the book, I wanted to know what actually happened to her, and also when Magnar first saw her years ago. I wanted to get some clarification rather than implying that things happened.

Overall, quick read.

Yes please. Magnar, X and Jace - hhmm. Seeing 18 yo Waylyn in his bed - having broken out of her prison and days before her forced marriage to Keegan - Magnar doesn't know what to do. The anniversary of his wife's death has him stumbling to the bed thinking Waylyn is Catie.
So much chemistry burns between the two and Magnar doesn't even realize he has met Waylyn before. She crushed on him 5 yrs prior and hopes he can be her salvation again.
Age gap for X and Magnar as Magnar has an 18 yo daughter Charli and X is his friend from childhood. Jace is a younger cousin so still an age gap but no where near Mag's. Will Way survive running from Keegan?
Love the steamy (seriously HOT) scenes of the men individually and together. She is one lucky girl. Great HEA and connection to other books/characters.

Sienna delivered everything she promised in this quick and dirty read. I loved the first "Quick and Dirty" book but then read two other novels by her that weren't really my cup of tea so I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. I needn't have worried, I loved it. It helps that it was almost exactly what I was in the mood for.

While everyone's respective pasts were not detailed out, enough was alluded to to get the point across in conveying how the past informed the present character and personality. While this book contained themes, tropes and subject matter that I'm not the biggest fan of (SA of a minor/age-gap/child abuse/gang-wars), nothing was given enough "screentime" to impede my enjoyment of the story, so I just kind of glossed over it and got to the good bits. Some suspension of disbelief was necessary to fully enjoy the story but I was all in. I love how distinct each of the men were, sometimes with ménage or RH the men kind of get lumped together and you don't really get to enjoy the individual relationships that evolve as well as the group as whole. Sienna masterfully makes the reader see Magnar, X, and Jace as individuals and shows how each piece of the puzzle fits.

I very much enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

Usually I’m not that keen on a damsel in distress book but I absolutely loved this!!

Waylyn had spent five years under the thumb of the monster Keegan. She had no idea why but all she knew was that she had to get away!

She manages to get away and runs straight into the arms of Magnar, Jace and X.

They three men are the lead of the Irish under world and Keegans arch nemesis.

They do whatever they can to save Waylyn and to keep her out of Keegans clutches but the one thing they all don’t count on, is falling in love in the mean time.

Can they do what needs to be done and come out a live?? Read and find out!! So worth the read!!

Irish kings

A stand alone book. This book was what I needed, nothing too dark yet with powerful men with their own scars. The fmc actually grew up in a convent of all places, probably to keep her safe from dogs like Keegan. She's strong from having endured his cruelty, she finds a way to run away the day after her 18th birthday after 5 years of captivity. She escaped her own wedding and heads for the gang that rivals his so she can be safe. She's one smart cookie for that, ends up falling for the Kings and the rest is history lol.

Romance and danger? Check!

Looking for a down and dirty, fast paced, make your eyes big out with the ending kinda book? Then look no further! Bikers, mafia, IRISHMAN! A trio of him in the romance world. This book was a classic yet so unexpected at the same time! (If you were looking for spoilers you read the wrong review, I'm not giving away anything about this fantastic book.) There is lots of heat in this reverse harem romance. This quick reads story line was pretty engaging and the pacing was good. I liked the characters and thought they had good chemistry. The addition of the Mafia element helped add drama and intensity to the book. A fun and enjoyable romance. This is my honest, independent review.

Great book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Starts out suspenseful, the kind that has you on the edge, your seat and graduates into sooooo much more. I found myself - when I absolutely had to do something causing me to close my kindle - rushing back to it to find out what happened next. Thanks Sienna , I have quite a bit of Irish heritage and would love to visit Ireland someday.

This was a pretty good book. I enjoyed reading it. It definitely is exactly as the author stated a quick and dirty novel. It doesn’t have as much backstory and details as I tend to like in my novels but it was a good read for being a quick and dirty romance novel. I would rate this a 4.2

Quick and dirty it was, wet hot and wild these three men were, giving her pleasure beyond her wildest dreams, a fantasy so wild you can’t help but to be immersed in the story. This author knows how to write and keep her readers engaged, can’t wait to read more hot, tantalising stories!
