Destiny
I was doing fine. Just fine. I’d long since left my cheating, two-timing, slime ball of a husband, and was doing well making my way in the world. I had a career that I loved as a financial advisor, great friends, and family. I didn’t need for anything. Especially not love. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t completely soured on the whole falling in love thing. However, after having my heart crushed once by the man who claimed to love me and only me, I wasn’t exactly itching to take another walk down that aisle. Especially, not with another athlete of all people. Then, in walks Tyler Townsend. Or rather, I walked into his life. And from then on out, it was a struggle to keep my heart tucked behind the armor of self-defense I’d erected to prevent myself from getting hurt again.

Tyler
When you know, you know. Or so say, the men in my family. While I was never one to run from love, marriage or commitment, I knew it’d take a strong woman to handle everything that came with being with me. Not only was my family well connected and wealthy, but as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, I had made a success of my life on my own. In my world, women came a dime a dozen … or so I thought. All of the teasing I’d done to my older brothers once they’d fallen in love was coming back to haunt me. I just knew it. Because as soon as Destiny McDonald blew into my world, all the games were over. No other woman would do. And I do anything to ensure that she knew it. And I do mean anything. Because this time I’m playing for keeps.

If you've read the other books in the series then you've caught glimpses of happy-go-lucky Tyler Townsend, youngest brother of Carter, Aaron and Joshua. You know the one, the fun and loving uncle, the crazy brother, the life of the party type of guy.

In his book you see those facets of his personality, but you also meet Tyler, the real man. This man y'all. What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man. Yes, he is! We're talking all the bells, whistles and feels. We're talking book boyfriend material for a damn fictional character!

Tyler's life changes the day Destiny McDonald, Financial Advisor walks into the lecture hall. She's been tasked with helping the football team (those interested) in investing their money toward the future, after football. Tyler is agog by her beauty and brains. Destiny notices, but isn't interested or impressed by the likes of Tyler. Destiny has read things about Tyler and having been married to a womanizer, she's sworn off of dating athletes. Fortunately, Tyler didn't get the memo.

So he sets out to win her with his charm, humor and wit and Tyler is hilarious, he made me smile and he made me laugh out loud. When his teammate, Leonard seems to have a problem with Destiny, all women really, Tyler has a problem with him. He makes it clear to Leonard to stay away from Destiny. During one of Leonard's many tirades he brags about his 50 percent return on investment and this raises red flags for Destiny. She's honor-bound to help Leonard and others that may be taken advantage of by a Bernie Madoff type investor, so she involves herself in finding the truth.

Tyler is slowly able to break down Destiny's walls and he makes it clear to her and everybody else that anybody that has a problem with her -- past or present -- has a problem with him. Let's just say ... he fixed it! Read the entire series -- just know that Tiffany Patterson saved the best for last with this one! What a great ending, for a great series.

Highly, Highly Recommended: READ IT NOW!

“Chicks with short hair don’t play. They don’t have time to waste doing their hair, and they sure as hell don’t have time to put up with my bullshit.” -Kelvin

My head began nodding in agreement before I realized what I was doing.
“She’s more beautiful than Nia Long.” -Tyler

“The fuck? The hell you know about Nia Long?”-Kelvin

I cut a look in Kelvin’s direction before turning back to the beauty at the front of the room.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!

I started reading on May 16, 2019 and I just finished it yesterday!
It was painful, but I finished.
I had even forgotten it was on my Kindle.
I only noticed that when I went to check the books I had on the KU.

“Come for daddy,” I crooned into her neck.

“You like watching daddy fuck you?”

An ok-ish/meh read.

Divorcing her cheating husband Destiny now has a kickass business and life, having sworn never to date/have a relationship with a sportsman what she doesn't expect is the persistent NFL quarterback Tyler Townsend.

Tyler is OTT and there were moments in the book where I paused not too sure about him.

The scenes towards the end got super darker, things taking a weird turn and having me worried about the man Destiny had married. Is Tyler and is family (brothers and dad) sociopaths?

Skimmed through the sex/love scenes after the first one.

Acquired via KU.

So Bored-.no spoilers

This author has a habit of writing the same book. Alpha man, woman that puts up a feeble no not gonna happen then the man bulldozers his way into her life. There usually is a conflict that pushes them away from each other for five minutes and then proof she's in love and he gets his way. Boo this can be sexy but as there is no real push and pull you are just bored u don't know why these two people are together she's annoying and he's a stalker with money u wanna understand why this woman would allow someone to take over and override her wishes because he knows what's best for them. Such a turnoff, this was a mess for me with chemistry missing and a stupid story and most unforgiving a heroine that comes off as strong but is really a pushover for a good looking man. I read half way through then skimmed when the formula became clear, meeting up with the other Townsend men and their wives should have ticked this up but came off as filler. I think this is the last book I try to read by this author because really you can just go back and read a better version in her older books.

I could have been persuaded to give this book 4 stars if Ch 28 was not part of the book. I disliked the possessiveness of the main male character (I refused to call him a "hero") throughout the book because it was so close to the line of pathological, and at times over it. But I could almost believe that he was just "too alpha" for me. Until Ch 28, and then all of my well-honed professional instincts proved to be correct. This was not an "alpha male" and certainly not a hero. The early warning signs were actual red flags and ultimately it was not just him who was seriously pathological.

I'm of two minds on the main male character and the ending - on one hand, it was truly an incredible plot twist that confirmed so many of my concerns and perceptions about Tyler from the beginning of the book. Kudos to Tiffany Patterson for writing a sociopath so well - she evoked similar responses and emotions to what happens in real life when dealing with sociopaths. For example, when I got to the end I saw how much I was (like Destiny) trying to overlook things about his character and pass them off as "intense," "alpha," or "passionate" because he did have many good features and I wanted to like the character. After all, wasn't he so much better than her ex? Having all those red flags confirmed in Ch 28 was a reminder of how sociopathy works and how the good traits of sociopaths - like their ability to be charming and endearing - often override the good sense of those around them, leading them to ignore the warnings. It also confirmed that sociopaths rarely spring up in isolation - their environment often contributes. (I have not read the prior books in the series, so I may have been less surprised by the ending if I had). So from that perspective, this was a well-written book with an ending that was surprisingly disturbing and chilling.

On the other hand, I am concerned that this book romanticizes the main male character, and since he exhibits so many alarming characteristics, I'm not sure this is really appropriate. Too many women are harmed and killed by men like this, so portraying this type of man as a "hero" normalizes behaviour that is anything but normal or healthy. I'm not sure the book goes far enough in clarifying that Tyler is NOT the guy you want to date or marry.

I also prefer books that have HEA endings - or at least HFN without dark clouds lurking on the horizon. And as Ch 28 and the epilogue make clear, Destiny is far more screwed at the end of the book than she ever was at the beginning. That big house is built on a foundation of sand and lies and when it falls, it will be ugly. Not sure if there are more books planned for this series, but the end of this book does set up the potential for an even darker sequel. I also prefer the "genre" (not sure if HEA/HFN is technically a genre, but I'm going with that word) to be clear before I read it. If it's not HEA/HFN I'd like to know that in advance. I read a mixture of "light" and more intense books, so I prefer a more clear disclosure of what to expect from the book. I could have accepted this as a HFN book without Ch 28 and the epilogue, but those two sections turned the book into something else entirely. (Again, I haven't read the rest of the series - might have been less surprised if I had). But, I appreciate that clarifying this at the outset would have destroyed some of the surprise of the ending.

In the end, I can accept a flawed hero/main male character, but Tyler goes past flawed and clearly into pathological while still being presented in too much of a positive/romanticized light. For this reason I can't give this book more than 2 stars, even though it was very well-written.

If you're familiar with the Townsend series then you know the baby of the family, star quarterback of the local football team, Tyler was the carefree playboy who seemed to take no one but his family serious. Imagine my surprise when Tyler meets financial advisor Destiny McDonald and immediately decides that she's the only one for him. To bad Destiny didn't feel the same, but if you know the Townsend men then you know Destiny will have a hard time convincing Tyler that she's not the one for him.
I loved Tyler and Destiny as a couple. Destiny is no shrinking violet so she didn't make things easy for Tyler to work his way into her heart but once he was there, she was a goner. Their story was passionate, emotional, and heartwarming. There were some road blocks and misunderstandings but in the end, A Townsend Man always gets his woman.

I’m going to miss the Townsend Men!

It was a pleasure reading about Tyler and Destiny. I must say that I’ve seen myself appear a lot in Destiny, especially when it came to the age between her and Tyler. I must say that yes age is just a number when the love is mutual. Tiffany was able to really connect me with the characters in this book. Yes! I’m going to really really miss these strong and dependable Townsend men. I am also excited to see what else this author has in store for is her readers, her fans

This was another good story by this author. I liked how Tyler went after Destiny and he was sure that he had met the one for him. He looked out for her and cared for until she realised that he was in it for keeps. I enjoyed reading it. Definitely worth a read.

It was fine until it got very violent and macabre. Read with caution or skip last two chapters. What the hell?!

A beautifully written story of love and determination...

Tyler was a joker in other books about the Townsend brothers, I never knew he had such an alpha gene in him! I loved his manliness his forthrightly attitude without being too arrogant, he was the perfect partner for Destiny as she was a force in her tiny package.
Loved the story and the development of their relationship, well worth reading I just love reading about this family.

4.0⭐️ There are many reviews out there that very aptly captured the essence of this book, so I’ll not bore you with a lengthy review. I liked the book although a few things bothered me. My personal pet peeve involves sex play where “daddy” is used; it makes me cringe. In previous books Tyler came off as a fun-loving, playful playboy type. Well, he hid those personality traits in this book. I liked his character but sometimes an alpha can come off as a f***ing d**k. That was my first impression of Tyler, but I grew to like him as the book progressed.

Initially, Destiny appeared to be a strong, independent black women. For the most part she remained so; however in certain parts of the book she came off as either weak or plain stupid. With all their faults, I came to admire Tyler and Destiny.

My last comment is that retribution is a B***H. Yaaassss!!!! 4 solid ⭐️

P.S. There were some glaring grammatical & editing hiccups along the way. For those unfamiliar with this author sex abounds with some erotic aspects at times.

Same book, different brother.

The Townsend Brothers books are incredibly formulaic. Hot brother meets heroine, pursues her relentlessly/aggressively, heroine feebly tries to brush off his advances, gives in, they get married, have kids. The brothers are all very cavemanesque (except Aaron who is legitimately scary, in a bad way), they don’t take no for an answer and are just a little too alpha (vom) for my tastes. Still, Tiffany Patterson is a good author so even though her books aren’t totally my thing, I still enjoy them.

This one was really disappointing though.

In the other books, Tyler’s a lot goofier than his brothers. He doesn’t take things nearly as seriously, and is generally more fun. Because of this, i was looking forward to his book because I thought it would be a departure from the others. I was wrong - it was exactly the same. Like to the T. I liked Destiny’s job (financial planner, pretty unique for a romance heroine) but not much else.

I did not enjoy this book. The large reason for that was because I hated mmc Tyler. So I never felt any chemistry between the two characters leading all of Ty’s actions to feel so weird. Like it just felt like he was harassing her and I was rooting for her to leave him. I fought my way thru this book and omg. The only funny thing abt Ty is he goes insane at the end and just starts beating bitches like gn

Tyler is a beast.

These Townsend men got better and more intense with each book. Tyler was straight up alpha and he was not taking any prisoners or no’s for an answer.

He knew the minute he saw her

Cougar's quarterback Tyler Townsend knew when he laid eyes on certified financial adviser Destiny McDonald, he knew she was going to be his wife, he just had to convince her. Destiny had been divorced from NBA player Darryl Wright for years under heartbreaking circumstances. She swore she would never get involved with an athlete again until Tyler Townsend. He wore her down, swore to protect her from any harm. He proved true to his edict. He even started working on their home before she even agreed to date him, that's just how sure he was. No man would come in between his precious lady love, not a teammate, not an ex-husband, no man. Destiny was his to keep.

Tiffany always writes great stories and this was no different. I enjoyed reading this book. Just love Tyler's love and determination for Destiny.

OMG I am so sad to see the Townsend Brothers Series come to an end now that the last and youngest brother, Tyler, has found his Destiny. This was such a fun story to read. I think now, Tyler is my favorite Townsend brother. Could he be more perfect? Sheesh. Destiny was a likeable character as well, but her getting her nose in that whole financial advisor scam seemed to be a bit much. I also thought the character of Leonard Riggs was waaaaaaaaaaaay over the top. My goodness! But what's a romance without some drama? So there's that. But as usual, the love scenes are 100% on point. Great writing, engaging story. I just love this family and how intuitive that all seem to be. This was a great book.

Highly recommended!!!💋

Tyler means what he says and practically go after what he wants rather she knows it or not. Wow! You don't play with a Townsend and live to tell your story. Darryl and Morris, I am silent. And that's all I have to say. Tyler went after Destiny like his life depended on it. Those alphas are something else. They mean what they say and say what they will do. I love their story.

Why am I never disappointed

I can truly say that enjoy reading all of Ms. Patterson's Townsend brothers series. Each book just keeps me turning the page to see what happens next. Each brother has their own story and makes me wish that I had one of my own. Tyler by far is my favorite. He just tickles me and Destiny was his equal. Now if I can get a story on how the parents met. The I father, Robert appears to be a beast!

I enjoyed this book and Tyler's relationships with his family and Destiny's mother. The book can be read as a stand alone , but I recommend the series

Firmly in love

When it comes to Destiny, Tyler is full speed ahead and doesn't let anyone stop him from her, even her. Letting go of past hurt, Destiny finds unexpected love with an unexpected man and falls firmly in love with Tyler. Everything seems to happen at warped speed, but when it's right, time is not a factor. I'm glad that they receive their needs and desires.
