A favor will kill you faster than a bullet.
It’s been years since the disaster that destroyed our lives.
Years of me trying to forget everything that happened.
Of trying to forget her.
I thought I finally had.

Now, the only girl I’ve ever hated
Shows up in the last place I ever thought I’d see her.

This world I live in –
the world she’s turned up in –
It’s too dangerous for her.

She needs my help,
Even though she doesn’t want it,
And I sure as hell don’t want to give it to her.

I can’t tell her yes.
But even worse,
I f*cking can’t tell her no.
I have to protect her,
Even though everything in me is telling me to just walk away.

She’s always been an addiction
One I’ve tried my hardest to resist.
I’m about to lose that battle.

I’ll go through hell for her.
Even if this favor ends up putting a bullet straight through my g*dd*mn heart.

Hale was the eighth book in the Lords of Carnage MC by Daphne Loveling.

Cameron Hale aka Hale was a patched member of the original Lords of Carnage chapter and was being sent to the Ironwood Chapter as a liaison. In a way, it was like going home since his small childhood town was nearby. However, even with the short distance he never expected to see Kylie Sutton again. Kylie was working multiple jobs in order to assist her ill father. She would do anything for him, including associate with an outlaw MC if it would help her.

At first I expected Kylie to be the one that got away, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Loveling slowly unraveled the connection and the reason for the hatred that’s been smoldering underneath, even after all these years. Loveling also threw in some MC suspense as the backdrop, which added depth and dimension.

It was written with a double POV, giving us a glimpse into both minds. Minus the editing errors, it was well written. All in all, it was a quick, enjoyable, and entertaining read. I’m not sure where Loveling will take us next, but there are several MC bachelors left: Bullet, Stryker, Tank and Jude. And a Spinoff with the Ironwood chapter would be awesome, let’s start with Axel or Mal.

Cameron Hale left the small town he grew up in, after a tragedy. He held onto that pain and ultimately the hate that consumed him for years.
Kylee was the center of that turmoil and he had thought of her every day since leaving. Their worlds became intertwined when Hales best friend started dating Kylee.
Now he's part of The Lords of Carnage and his Prez, Angel is sending him back to the place that he ran from so many years before. When he sees Kylee at the charter club Angel sent him to on club business, all he sees is red.
But under that hate lies a seething mountain of lust, something both Hale and Kylee will have to come to grips with.
This is my honest review. Daphne Loveling writes some of the best MC Romance books, so treat yourself to this great series!

Hale and Kylie's story is complex, deep, intense and gripping. A shared past that is painful brings lots of angst and emotional turmoil to this read. There is drama, danger and yes, some steam too; but really the book is heavily powered by emotion. Anger, guilt, heartache, regret, hate and love all have starring roles in this moving romance. A very enjoyable read and a very good addition to this series. I am posting this forthright review of my own accord.

Hale comes back home to take care of things for his MC and the last person he expects to be a mule for the local Lords of Carnage MC is the woman that he can't forget. Kylie doesn't expect to ever see Cameron "Hale" again, but when she sees the hate in his eyes she knows she has to avoid him. I loved this story and I have to say I love this MC so much.

I truly enjoyed this installment. I know I keep saying that this one or that one is my favorite, but I really mean it about this one. This story was so intense. The love/hate relationship between Cam and Kylie was extreme. The ebb and flow of the plot was amazing and fast paced, and I really enjoyed the extended look/preview we got of the new sister LOC charter. I find myself really excited to get that series started. I was also thrilled to see more books from this series as well. Tally ho!!!

In this book we follow Hale and Kylie in a hate to love romance. I felt very little compassion for the two and really struggled to empathise with them on anything. They continuously made bad decisions, held childish grudges, and I really didn't feel the spark between them.

Kylie is drug muling for the Ironwood MC chapter and has asked for bigger runs so that she can afford cancer treatments for her dying dad. Although they haven't spoken in years, she was previously sort-of friends with Hale when she dated his best friend in highschool. She admits in her inner monologues that she really loved/fancied Hale more all along (and him vice versa in his POV). When Hale comes back into town they argue and fight a lot about whether she should continue muling and about their shared history and grudges. She never seems to have a backbone to stand up for herself, and I just don't buy the romance between the two. They sleep together a couple of times but there is zero relationship-building. For the entire book I was screaming at her to be smart and make decisions for herself, but she continued making bad decisions and letting the men take over.

I also don't really get the father/daughter relationship here and the need for Kylie to start drug running to pay for his medical bills. I get that he is her father, but we are told that he wasn't a great parent when she was a child, that they were never really close and that is the reason for her then-boyfriend selling meth (and subsequently getting sent to prison and being murdered). We aren't shown any good memories with him so I really question why Kylie would risk so much to try and pay for his treatments. Also, given how the american medical system works, I don't really buy drug running would provide enough cash for cancer treatments so it seems doubly stupid to risk her freedom.

The book ends with a very convoluted and rushed kidnapping and rescue mission, where Hale acts like a crazy man to rescue Kylie. When she is rescued and recovered she decides to stay in Tanner Springs for good with Hale, despite only sleeping with him a couple of times.

1/5 stars, would recommend skipping

Hale (Lord of Carnage #8) is by Daphne Loveling. She has written a series of book about a MC called the Lord of Carnage. Her MC is a club that participates in illegal activities and is considered a one percenter. This is her eighth novel about the main charter club. As there are many members of the club unmarried and now there is the Ironwood chapter, I look forward to more books in this series.

Hale is sent down to another chapter to help set up a new route to help ease the flow of illegal weapons. What is not known to many of the brothers is that this is where Hale spent many years. Also in the other chapter is Mal, his cousin, with some bad blood between them. What he didn’t expect to see is Kylie, a girl from the past. Kylie was someone he lusted after but never touched as she was his best friend’s girlfriend. It seems that past event occurred that made Hale angry at her, while still lusting after her.

Kylie desperate for cash to help her ailing father agrees to be a mule delivering drugs from one location to another. Of course we start out with Hale and Kylie growling and snapping at each other. Kylie and Hale has a lot to overcome and Hale isn’t sure it how he feels about what is happening.

This was another fun read in the series and I look forward to reading many more from this author. I am hoping for a story about Mal or Tank next. Hale (Lord of Carnage #8) is by Daphne Loveling was a good read.

I absolutely love this series from Daphne Loveling! The Lords of Carnage men are rough around the edges, live by their own code and will do anything for their brothers in the MC and I for one love them all! Cameron Hale watches his brothers around him find their other halves and swears he will not fall into that trap, famous last words. When he goes on a run for his MC to check on the newest chapter and make sure they can handle their share of the goods the MC has he goes dragging his feet and knowing he will see his cousin. What he didn't plan on was another blast from his past in the form of Kylie Sutton. When Kylie sees Cameron again for the first time everything comes rushing back. To say these two get a rocky second chance is an understatement, but they both will have to learn to let go of the past. Kylie is strong and fiesty and the perfect match for Hale, but the old feelings are hard for him to let go of. Yet when Kylie needs him he will do whatever it takes to save her. I loved these two characters and the whole Lords of Carnage world that Daphne Loveling has created. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.

The Lords of Carnage MC is quite the series to lose yourself in. Ms. Daphne Loveling is a wonderfully talented Author who delivers time and again with only top notch perfect quality books for each of us. Within Hale, you instantly become addicted to the riveting storyline as well as the characters themselves. Cameron Hale is part of a brotherhood of gorgeous MC men on two wheels but more then that, he's about to be thrown back in time while following his President's orders. Seeing Kylie again brings back old pain and despair. Kylie is back where it all began, trying to take care of her Father but she needs to generate extra money. Running in to Cam again brings back old pain and buried feelings that Ky has never healed from.

I was incredibly fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Hale in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. Ms. Loveling can spin a tale like nobody's business and it is always a pleasure to read her work. I can not wait to see what is next for this MC brotherhood.

I reveled in Hale and Kylie's story, the background of how they met and why Hale hates her so much completely sucked me in. This was a enemies to lovers, yet second chance sort of, anyway it intrigued and had me pulling for Kylie and everything she was going through. We do get to hang out and meet an extended chapter of Lord of Carnage. And who I am to complain about more amazingly HOT bikers. Hale was very intense and so angry for so much of the book, like i felt bad for Kylie, having to deal with his wrath. When Hale finally opens his eyes and really thinks about the past he is able to let some of the hate go and let love in. I loved these kinda scenarios that characters don't realize how important someone is to then, until they almost lose them. Its makes it super fierce and brilliant read.

Wow, this is a marvelous, second chance MC romance and I truly enjoyed reading it. The plot is impressive, well-thought out, and written with well-developed characters that have individual personalities, and are quite realistic with their emotional feelings & expectations.
It is about: a past relationship between two people (Hale, a Lords of Carnage rider & Kylie) filled with hatred & guilt, and the gradual enemies to lovers and letting go of the past.
There is: MC riders, MC clubs, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, enemies, danger, violence, conflict, memories, tragedy, heartache, anger, guilt, emotional turmoil, regrets, hatred, judgmental, attractions, sexual tension, confusion, abduction, torture, threats, conflict, guns blazing, injuries, protectiveness, verbal banter, love, happiness, some steam and a satisfying ending.
This was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it.

I'm so addicted to the Lord's of Carnage series I couldn't wait till Hale's story came out and now I'm sad I've read the last page. Hale is one rough riding, rowdy, pure testosterone fueled alpha male who is severely protective of his MC brothers. Kylie is a beautiful women who's been dealt a rotten hand of one misfit father who she loves dearly that has caused her misery since high school. In high school they hide their lust for each other which was taboo since she was Hale's best friends girl, but a tragedy sent them in different directions now many years later they come face to face. There's times when I'd be so emotional vested it was hard to let go and continue to read Hale and Kylie story. Once you start reading your not going to be able to put it down cause you to will be as hooked as I've been there's so much action you'll get whiplash.

One click Hale

This is a second chance romance set in Loveling's MC world. Hale is a must read if you have read the Lords of Carnage MC series by Loveling. Hale is a newbie character for the series, I believe he was first introduced in Angel's book. He character is a grouch, he definitely speaks his mind, loves to punch walls and the ladies love his bad boy attitude. Loveling does a great job of showing Hale's anger and pain but also showing how he softens up though out the book.
Kylie is the leading lady, she has history with Hale and some is good, some ugly but the heat between these two will burn your kindle. She has her own problems, or demons but she needs help.
Hale is also an introduction into Leveling's spin off series Ironwill Lords of Carnage MC. I am thinking this series is going to be rougher than the Lords of Carnage. Happy Reading!!!

Cameron Hale is a member of the Lords of Carnage MC and was given a special assignment by his president, Angel. Hale reluctantly wanted to do what his president requested that he would be going to the Lords of Carnage in Ironwood considering it involves his past. A past Hale had bury many years ago and involved a mysterious young lady name Kylie Sutton.

Kylie Sutton returned home after dropping out of college to take care of he father with limited resources. She never expected to see the man who had always disliked her again especially at the Ironwood Lords of Carnage clubhouse. Kylie had a special arrangement with the bikers as a mule which provided extra provisions for her fathers medical expenses.
The story was exciting, intense, well written and flowed smoothly. I love Kylie determination to push through obstacles to provide for her father against all odds.

Another great one from Mrs. Loveling! The writing flowed well, and I enjoyed the story line. Hale and Kylie were good together, and this is sort of a second chance romance. They are never together in the past, but they both had feelings for each other. Kylie was doing some things that were putting her in danger to try to help her dad. Hale tried to keep her out of trouble, but wasn't complete successful. I really liked how their relationship progressed, and it wasn't instantaneous. I love an alpha, and Hale had that in spades. It was nice to see some of the people from the previous books, and get updates on them. I really enjoyed the ending.

Hale was ordered to go help out the new Chapter of the Lords, he didnt want to because it would bring up old painful memories, that he has been running from.
Kylie, was a mule for the Lords,. She didnt want to be but needed the money to help her dad fight his cancer, so she had no choice. She was just trying to survive.
They knew each other from long ago, but feelings and events pushed them apart.
They come face to face and the old feelings come back, they fight them as much as possible, but doesn’t work. karma has other plans for these two.
Kylie, get into a situation, when she goes to do a drop, with a rival gang. Hale and the other Lords go rescue her . After that their feelings for each other are realized, and they both admit they love and have had feelings for each other for years.

Kick butt, bit of a spoiler

Still kick butt writing and good story line. Not sure where Hale came from because I sure a shoot don’t remember that name in the earlier books. Good story over all. Some things in this book don’t add up for me like stage 3-4 cancer with Kylie’s dad and he is not in treatment but had a heart attack and not too much was said after that? Kylie getting beat up by a rival gang but really only punched around some for hours and living through it? Maybe I am more jaded but both evens seem down played a lot to give this book a HEA. Not really violent and a bit of loving to keep it spicy. Overall pretty good. On to more MC adventures, happy reading.

It's review time 🎧
Warning ⚠️ : mc gang story. Love with history of hate and misunderstanding. Book 8 in a series can be a total stand alone.

Narrator score🎧 ; tha narrator's were wonderful i loved them and the performance they gave.

Level of steam🔥: the book is short and though you have very crude language you don't much actual action until you do. And it's not a lot because the story isn't too long.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: you have some sad history with this couple and her father is ill but the story isn't too sad.

The book itself📖: the story isn't too long and it truly tries to be complex and it's somehow is and somehow isn't but the story was nice and well written I like the interaction between the characters and overall it was a solid story

Duel narration. Male audiobook narrator carried this story for me.

This book felt incomplete. The ideas were there, but there was a disconnect.

***Spoilery***

The couple didn't have the time to develop feelings. We also didn't see their attraction as teens to believe that it is a second chance.

Hale also gave up his grudge against her very quickly without much explanation as to why he held onto it for so long. Either the grudge was big enough to need convincing to drop it, or it wasn't that big to begin with, and he has no reason to be so mean to her.

Content warnings: threats of SA (not descriptive), kidnapping, toruture, violence, murder, substance abuse, c*ncer, loss of a loved one, grief

My rating: 2.5/5

Spice: 1.5/5

Wow, what can you say about Daphne Loveling’s Lords of Carnage MC series except it’s fabulous and Hale is the newest addition to this amazing series. Hale and Kylie have a past that is messed up, full of anger, hurt and deep down, love. When they’re thrown back together, kicking an screaming, we get a read full of excitement, drama, sexual tension and a passion that practically burns up the pages. Love this series and love Hale’s addition to it. Thanks for always giving your readers such amazing reads Ms. Loveling, you’re absolutely one of the best! Great!

I chose this rating because this was a really great book. I really enjoyed most of the characters. This was a book of compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and helping your fellow man. This is also a book about laws. Hale lost his friend when he was a young boy just getting into the MC. To that evil thing called drugs. This book was well-written too I really like the way the characters came together. Hale and Kylie they finally got together but they had to work through a good bit of stuff. I really enjoyed this book. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance and MC lovers.

Lords of Carnage MC (8)

This has been one of the best series I have read in a very long time. Each book was excellent getting better with each new book. Hale goes with Tank, to the new chapter of the Lords set up in Ironwood to supervise them taking over moving product with the local cartel. As Ironwood are unknown to the cartel, having Hale &Tank will help sooth any ruffelled feathers. When they arrive Hale sees Kylie, she used to date his best friend in High School. When he died Hale blamed Kylie, he still does, and why is she at the clubhouse? he'll find out and make sure she gets gone

Hale was the eight book in the Lords of Carnage MC series.

Kylie happened to walk back into the life of Hale despite living in the same town and had been avoiding each other since the tragic death of Kylies ex and Hales BFF, who died many years previous.

The story intertwined Kylies current struggle with whr sick dad and working for the MC, which Hale isn't impressed with. At first, he is angry and disgusted. However, as the story unfolds, you can see behind the anger between both. There is compassion and connection, which they both had tried to avoid for as long as possible over the years.

Onto the next in this series, I seem to be flying through them.

I have read nearly every 'Lords of Carnage MC' book, and I think this has to be one of my favorites! Hale and Kylie's story is filled with so much content, starting with the action, suspense, guilt, and some sexy steamy scenes. Great writing in weaving into the story their background, and bringing their past front and center as they deal with the danger Kylie puts herself in. A standalone and recommended read, I admit to being partial to MC books. I would like to thank the author for gifting me "Hale". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars!

Great 👍👍👍👍👍Read!!!

Hale is a great guy who fell in love with a girl he couldn't have, so he left and established a life elsewhere. Well fate had a different rode for him as he comes back to his past to pick up the pieces.... and ends with a happily ever after he deserves. Second chance love story that will warm your heart. The Lord's of Carnage is a great series that I highly recommend. The author has a writing style that makes you feel each characters emotions and her books are never cliffhanger.

I was waiting for Hale and i was not disappointed at all!! Hale goes back "home" to see another chpater of the club and runs into the one person he hoped he'd never see again and now he can't seem to let her be. Kylie thought she'd never see Hale again but here he is, and now she can't get rid of him, he refuses to let her do thingsa her way. There seems tobe no way through this for them, but neither of them really knew the whole truth of the past and once they leanr things change. I loved this ride with Hale and Kylie, it was so dang good!!!

This was a solid 3 star read for me. It took me a little longer to get through this book than past novels and I can't put my finger on exactly why. I enjoyed the book while I was reading it, but to be honest I have already forgotten some of the details of what happened. The event of their past and the reason he was so angry with her didn't feel genuine to the story, like it was boldly just something to cause conflict, which never really solved itself.

I enjoyed it and I will keep reading anything that Daphne puts out, but this one was not my favorite.
