The good: it has great information about hormones, they affect on the body and how to sort out any issues. The way he explains sounds medically sound and it’s very easy to understand, even if all the issues are for both men and women over 40.
The bad: it’s very repetitive, very repetitive (as a consequence it drags a bit). Also, his way of explaining sounds a bit patronising at times. And I wish doctors would keep religion out of it. I want to hear about the science behind the subject and not about anyone’s faith (otherwise I would’ve chosen a different type of book).
Still, it’s good, overall. But not great.

Book for Men and Women - OBG Dr. Ashley Tamucci asks all her patients to read - good job of breaking down hormonal imbalances and why they need to be treated (not masked w/ other drugs) before menopause. Discusses sympathetic and parasympathic nervous systems/adreanal fatigue/stress

Great information about hormones and how they affect the body. If you are looking for information about balancing hormones and health issues. This is a great book for that.

Unlike "Hormones for Morons" by Mikhail Berman (which was filled with medical gobbledygook) this book explains very clearly the importance of hormones in both men and women for health and well-being.

When I complained to my dentist of constant fatigue, she ordered some bloodwork that included checking hormone levels. Later when I told this to my regular doctor, she scoffed saying, "You are too old for your hormone levels to matter."

If anything in Colbert's book is true, my doctor was completely wrong.
