Surrender to More

Rate this book
Trust. A simple notion for some, but impossibly out of reach for Jessica Riley. The walls around her heart are built high from betrayal and years of keeping everyone at arm’s length. She’s happy with the way her life is, or so she thought. Hardcore Dom, Lucas Clark, was immediately drawn to Jessica. As their paths continue to cross, Lucas tests Jessica’s submissive nature, as well as her steadfast resolve to keep her emotions out of her relationships. He wants more than just sex. He demands Jess’ trust. The one thing she keeps locked away. As their bond intensifies, Jessica fears that this Greek God will put the pieces of her heart back together. Family, marriages and ghosts of her past all plague her ability to trust her own decisions, especially the ones that revolve around love.
A woman who’s afraid of heartbreak fights her own surrender against the man who doesn’t let her play it safe anymore.

Not one single moment to breath!

Lucas is one serious Dom and is enough to make your blood sizzle and your heart stop.
Jess has some series trust issues, not that I can blame her. But that's all I will say. You want to know what they are? READ the book!

The combination of these two very head strong characters make for an explosive story. Lucas is not only a Dom but the kicker is he is also a shrink. Great combination if you ask me. When he meets Jess (in a very professional manner) the attraction is there but he steps away. Yet sometimes fate just brings you back together. This is a relationship that at times can be extremely exhausting and frustrating, once again you have to read the book to understand where Jessica's head is. But along with frustration the heat is blazing, fevered, smoking ....well I think you get the idea.

But don't despair, the story itself is just as good as the sex. Lots of verbal banter between these two, a bdsm club that offers up some heated moments, a great cast of secondary characters that just add another layer of depth to their story. All in all the only thing that I could whine about is the times I wanted to slap Jess to make her focus on what she has. But I understand that Trust is hard won to some with very good reasons. Don't get me wrong, Lucas could be a bit overwhelming in the Dom department but some girls like a bossy man :D

Loved everything about the book, especially the emotions it pulled from my wicked little heart. The author did a wonderful job of getting the reader involved in the relationship with her very descriptive type of writing. With that said, Rachel De Lune is now in my top ten must read authors.

WOW...This book was the perfect read and left me hot under the collar.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on Jessica's story and boy it didn't disappoint. This book was scorching hot and emotional. Surrender to More is one of the best Dom/Sub books I have read in a long time. I cant wait to see what comes next from this author.

Jessica has built her walls high. After being left broken by 2 men a relationship is the last thing she wants or needs. Keeping herself very private is what Jessica does to survive.
But when her best friend gets married, Jessica starts to question herself and the way she lives her life. But she doesn't know how to change or move forward. This is how she meets Lucas, everything about him sets Jess on fire. This man is everything she would want in a partner, but this is what makes her scared...is she strong enough to try, will she have faith in him and herself?

Lucas is a Dom, everything about him screams Alpha and he loves control. He wants Jessica more than anything but he knows that for them to have the perfect relationship and for it to work there must be trust. The desire he has for Jess is off the charts, Jess pushes every button and ticks every box. But he doesn't come without his issues either.

Their story is raw and passionate and it was really lovely to read how they knocked down walls and built one another up. When they come together they set the pages on fire!!!

YAY! Jess's book is finally here! This is book three in the More series but I feel it could be read as a standalone since it's about a side character. I did love seeing glimpses of Izzy and Seb in this one and hope we see more from all the characters again..some day.

From reading the first two books in this series we know that Jess is Izzy's best friend, even tho we don't know hardly anything about her. She is a women that keeps to herself and keeps her personal life, well personal. Going into Surrender To More we learn that Jess doesn't do attached relationships. Keeping men at arms length is important to her, she has her reasons and the scars from old relationships to prove it.

What Jess doesn't expect it to feel like maybe she has made the wrong choice to live her life by herself. After Izzy's wedding Jess begins to wonder if she should open herself up again and see if she can find love. With all the mixed feelings swirling in Jess's head she decides that maybe talking to someone would help her sort everything out. What she didn't expect was to run into a sexy as sin man that soon consumes her thoughts.

Will this mystery man help Jess move past her past failed relationships? Or will Jess give up on love altogether?

This book I highly enjoyed. I knew from what little I knew about Jess from the past books that her book would be one that I would like. I knew she had a story that needed to be told, and I'm so glad the author decided to tell her story. Jess is a strong independent women that doesn't rely on anyone but herself. She just decides that maybe her life is quite as full as she would like for it to be. Luc is a man that I can't wait for you all to meet! He is simply perfect for Jess....even in ways she never knew.

This is a great book about opening up your heart and not letting past experiences swallow you hole. Letting love in can be a great thing :) I love this series and can't wait to see where Rachel takes this series next. I personally would love to see a book about Jess's brother! Who is he and what is he up to?...well read and you might just find out ;)

There goes another morning getting lost in Rachel De Lune’s books. I devoured another of her novels yesterday so this is getting to be quite a habit and one that I am absolutely loving!! I read the Izzy and Seb collection (books 1, 2 & 2.5 in The Evermore Series) a few months ago and it has always been my intention to continue reading the series and I’m so pleased that I chose this book.

Surrender to More is the perfect title for this novel. Having already met Jessica as she is Izzy’s best friend, I was delighted that this was going to be her story. Jess is such a fabulous person - She’s independent, driven and caring but she has been hurt in the past and that stops her from trusting easily and opening her heart to love.

What more could someone need to support them through their struggles than a man who not only professionally can understand and help, but is a Dominant too. When Lucas and Jessica’s paths cross, I could feel the chemistry between them as if we were all in the same room! Taking charge of situations is what Luc does best and I hoped that he would be the person that enabled Jess to break down her barriers, so that they could have a relationship together.

One thing for certain is that you are going to need a grab a fan or take a few cold showers during this book. Holy Schmoly! There are some very steamy scenes that are absolutely perfect for this story. I loved being back at Solace and it was lovely to see some more of Seb and Izzy too.

Rachel is an author who writes about real life sensitive topics with compassion and understanding and I loved how she portrayed Jess. Lucas is one hot, powerful and controlling Dom, so paired with Jess who fights her feelings and desires every step of the way - well you can imagine how hard it must be for the pair to make any sort of compromise and this made compelling reading.

Surrender to More is a fabulous read and one that I recommend without hesitation.

I give this read 5 shining Solace stars and recommend this book to anyone that enjoys their BDSM with a little forcefulness but a whole lot of trust and love.

This story had me flipping through the pages and never wanting to put it down or have it come to an end. It was refreshing to read an erotic romance that contained so much angst and had a feisty, gutsy heroine with a backbone although she is a little stubborn, she wasn't one to fall at the feet of her Dom, until he had her melting in his liquid heat of course! Jess challenges Luc every step of the way, making him work for her and this is part of what makes Lucas desire the feisty Jess even more. As the weather gets cooler, cozy up with a cuppa tea and warm blanket for a weekend filled with exciting and pleasurable feelings that will put a smile on your face, have your toes curling, fingers twitching, thighs clenching ... need I say more.

Surrender to More is Rachel De Lune’s 3rd book in The Evermore Series. It’s a standalone book that contains recurring characters from the 1st two books; More and Forever More. Lovers of the Series will be happy to see their favourite characters back to play but new readers of the Series will not feel left in the dark, unless you chose to try out one of Lucas’ silky blindfolds.

I was pleasantly surprised by Surrender to More. Jess was introduced previously, but she was not a front and centre character, even though she is the best friend of the heroine, Isobel, or Izzy for short. Since we didn’t know a lot about Jess, I didn’t feel a connection to her nor did I have a compulsion to read her story. I’m so glad I had enough faith in the author to write a beautiful story, that I gave it a try.

This book is not your typical BDSM fairy tale. Be forewarned that it may have triggers for those with an aversion to consensual hard-core BDSM play, but hopefully they are good triggers. Surrender to More is an awakening for Jess and takes us through her hard-fought struggle to ‘Surrender’ herself and her heart, to become vulnerable and trust a man that will change her life and introduce her to the world of dominance / submission and real love.

Due to her past, Jess has some real struggles when it comes to trusting men so she normally adopts the easy path and just doesn’t even try. That is until Lucas Clark enters the picture and the electricity is intense. From their very first meeting, the connection is palpable. He is a confident dominant who goes after what he wants but he is not without his own issues.

Jess and Lucas’ story is full of twists and turns and steamy hot bedroom, dining room, kitchen, and hallway scenes, not to mention the amazing Solace Club scenes. Theirs is not a smooth sailing ride and their fire and stubbornness rears itself every time you think they’ve finally made it through.

Beautiful story of finding trust and love….

For eight years, Jessica Riley has protected her heart from emotional commitments when it comes to men. Still reeling from betrayal and abandonment from past relationships, her protected bubble of existence only includes casual sex. Until she meets Luc Clark. Jessica can’t resist the temptation of one gorgeous, green-eyed man who makes her heart beat fast and makes sparks fly whenever he’s around. But can she change enough to let Luc in? She’s afraid, unwilling to give her trust and faith to someone, fearing that it can lead to more heartache.

Luc Clark, is a hard core Dom, and he wants Jessica. No other man has challenged Jess to expose her feelings like Luc has. He introduces her to a Dom/submissive relationship, but Jess holds back from truly exposing deep seated feelings. He wants more than trust from Jess as they navigate around their attraction. Luc takes total control from her and only with trust and honesty can they make their unique relationship work. But it’s a daunting task for Luc’s patience when Jess goes into runaway mode, her default mode for when things get too close to her heart. Everything in Luc says fighting for them as a couple is the right thing. He has to convince Jess he’s staying for the long term.

I loved Surrender To More, it’s an emotional ride, and beautifully written. Ms. De Lune’s voice is wonderful and irresistible in this story of overcoming hurdles to find a chance at love based on trust and honesty. Of surrendering to total submission to find one’s heart again. Packed full of passion and heat. I love that Luc has a gentle but firm hand with calming Jess in her insecurities, by worshipping her, making her feel important and special. *sigh*

Of course, the epilogue brings it to completion, it was great and I was cheering for them. It’s an enjoyable read and one I recommend for romance readers that love BDSM elements in their romances.

I was given a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in the More series and can be read as a standalone. There are characters from the first books in there who we meet again. This book however focuses on Jess and Luc's story. While i found this to be a good read, I had a hard time connecting to the book and I found myself walking away from it numerous times before just getting into it to the end.

Jess has been hurt before and it shows in her relationships after that, it also left her with some serious trust issues. She has become used to behinf in charge of her relationships and gives up easy, never letting anyone in. When she hits it off with Luc, although she aches to try with him, her issues causes some tension .A bit touchy at times, there is a lot of back and forth in Jess’s head. This is all going on while she has to deal with some horrible situation at work, and this pulls her into another direction entirely.

Luc is a dominant and he wants Jess, and expects her to trust him with not just her body, but her mind as well. While there are a few instances where he stalks off in the middle of a discussion with Jess, I liked his character. There were not that many wiews from his POV, so everything about him is from Jess's view.

These two have a lot to overcome before they get their HEA, and it takes a lot of work and trust to get there.

My thanks to the publisher for an ARC for my honest review

Surrender to More was a hot and steamy 5 star read.

Jessica is struggling with trust issues. She has been abandoned and betrayed.
Lucas is a very hard core Dom and is immediately drawn to Jessica. There is something about Lucas that has gotten Jessica’s attention. Will Lucas be able to help Jessica with her trust issues?

I like how Lucas challenged Jessica and helped her. Be prepared for an emotional ride. The epilogue was great. Rachel does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. If you like a book with lots of hot and steamy sex, you will definitely want to 1-click and get reading.

My favorite book among the series

I can relate to the female character. We are not only has the same name but the same trust issue. It is really hard to trust a person. You have to make boundary to protect yourself from not hurting again. But you will not enjoy your relationship if you do not have trust and honesty as well. It will take some time but when it happens, it brings joy to your life.

This is my favorite story among the series. As usual the series is very hot. I am not into BDSM in life but reading this book gives me more knowledge. It is a beautiful thing actually when you found someone you love that will give you pleasure in a very unusual and extra ordinary way.

This book is very emotional. You might need a Kleenex. Though I did not cry but the emotions will wreck your heart. It is also a beautiful story of friendship, betrayal, tragedy and most of all love is so powerful and it heals a wounded heart and soul.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is hard to put it down.

Surrender to More is a five star read, I loved the story line and it flowed beautifully. I loved the way the author showed both views of the characters. This book has some HOT sex scenes in it, along with some aggravation, angst and love. Jessica is a stubborn woman because of everything she has been through and Luc…oh Luc, so hot and demanding. He only wants things done his way, and his way only.

Jessica Riley has been in hiding for a relationship after being hurt by not one, but two men. She is still protecting her heart from being broken again. When she meets Luc Clark the hard core Dom who is persistent in getting her to open up and get to know her to see what is there, her walls start to cave. With this attraction between the two of them, Luc shows Jess the Dom/Sub lifestyle. Which Jess loved but only with Luc.

Will Luc be able to gain Jessica’s trust and win her over?

This is my first read by Rachel De Lune and look forward to more from her. This is the third book in The Evermore Series. I will be one click books one and two. This book can be read as a Standalone.

My daughter had me read these books. I really like them.
When she told me that a third one was out, after she bought it she lent it to me and that made me happy.

I wondered what Izzy's friend was like since she was a key character in the other books and being able to read about her is pretty neat.
I like that the friends are is able to share their lives with each other more than before because they both have something in common.
Lucas is great for Jessica because he does not let her get away with secluding herself if a relationship if it gets tough. Even though she wants to run she finally starts to realize that he is what she has been missing in her life.

I also enjoyed the fact that you learn about why she does not do relationships and even though she has bad ones in the past, her family plays a part in it as well. Her mom thinking she will never leave town and do her own thing makes her realize she needs to branch out her life after learning about her brothers new job.

Good book and I look forward to reading more (no pun intended) from this author.

Years ago Jess had been betrayed by two men she cared about. One cheated and one left her at the altar. Because of that she built walls around her heart and didn't let anyone past them. That is until Luc came into her life. She was drawn to him from the first moment they met and couldn't resist the sizzling chemistry between them. The only thing is that Luc is a Dom and Jess' biggest struggle is with trust which is necessary for that kind of relationship. She has no trouble submitting to him in the bedroom it is outside of it that is the challenge for her. She tends to run when things get overwhelming for her which is difficult for Luc to deal with. I loved Luc. He can't let go of her, but really both struggle with opening up about their feelings. I loved it when they both let the walls down and lost themselves in each other. I enjoyed their story.

I give Surrender to More 4 hearts!

Jessica Riley is a woman who is used to being in control After having her heart broken more than once she keeps her feelings tightly locked away. But, when she meets the enigmatic and sexy Lucas Clark, she just might have found the man to break the chains around her heart. Only problem? He is a Dom who is used to being the one in control. Can a woman who craves control give herself to a man who will take the control from her? Read and see.

This book is part of a series but, I had no problems reading it as a standalone. I liked the BDSM aspects of the story and it is well written. I just didn't feel the chemistry between Jessica and Lucas. I really had a hard time warming up to Jessica. I know she had her heart broken, but it wasn't as devastating as she made it out to be. Not to me anyway. Something was just off for me with this story.

Jessica and Lucas are amazing. I love this book! I love that Jess is spunky and kept her stubbornness even though Luc was her Dom, she didn't just lose herself. I couldn't put this book down.
Jess never thought she want the kind f relationship Izzy had until she meets Lucas. She decides to give it a go but keeps Lucas on his toes and gives him attitude and sass the entire time. It was refreshing to read an erotic romance where the Sub has a backbone and is willing to stand up to the Dom. But she still hands over control in the bedroom.

Strong heroine

Yes yes yes. This is what I've been wanting. A strong woman who can also choose to be submissive.

They're chemistry is electric from the get go.

"It was like he found a back door to my heart and unlocked it before I could stop him. Now he’s taking up space and demanding more—more of my heart, my soul and all of my submission."

The only thing this book left me wanting, was MORE!!!

BDSM here we come. I loved this third book of the series. I liked Izzy and Seb, but Jess and Lucas were so great! First I already loved Jess' character. The broken, stubborn, vulnerable and loving parts. She is damaged and has had her heart broken twice, so her walls are high! But when she meets Dr. Lucas Clarke, she falters. He crushes into her life and her heart like a bull in a China shop. There is a lot of steam, lots of BDSM elements, D/s play and it is quite entertaining!!!

By the time I got to book 3, I really wanted it to be over. I kept reading because I do not like to leave a book unfinished, but I had lost interest. There was nothing really wrong with this series, it just wasn't "clicking" with me. Perhaps I need to read something a little different to clear my mind.

Trust can be difficult

Jessica Riley Izzy's best friend meets Lucas at a dinner party, they are both drawn to each other but Jess doesn't know Lucas Clark is a Hard Core Dom. Lucas test jessica's submissive Nature, they seem to be a perfect match in the bedroom; but Lucas wants more & he demands Jess trust only one problem her heart has her acting one way & her head another. Will her years of hurt keep from finding happiness with Lucas.

Jessica Riley has had more than her share of bad relationships in her past, that have destroyed any sort of future trust for members of the opposite sex. She will pretty much casually date, and hook up, but that's all they get, as she won't even entertain the notion of letting another man in, and she believes she's finally happy with life. The day she meets Lucas Clark, sparks are instantly flying, but she doesn't do anything about it. When she runs into him again, she can't stop the instant, explosive attraction she feels, but Lucas is a hard core d
Dom, and Jess won't give up control. As their paths keeps crossing, Lucas really starts to test her, as he wants her badly, and more than just sex. He wants her trust. As they keeps getting closer, Jess keeps running away when it gets too intense, and Lucas keeps chasing her. But will he finally decide to stop chasing, or will Jess finally decide to trust the man she's fallen for?!

WOW! I'm so conflicted after finishing this story. As I don't tend to gravitate to Dom/s stories, because I get all kinds of angry at this type of control, I really wanted to kick Jess's behind for putting Lucas through the paces like she did. And that's where my confusion hits me, because I never stick up for the Dom. This is why I will say that Rachel De Lune's talented writing style is so brilliant, because she has convinced an alpha female with iron control, to feel for the man, who controls things. I was reeled in from the beginning, and I didn't move until I finished the very last page. Yes, it's that addictive. The character development is great, with a cast of colorful secondaries. I cannot lie, the flammable chemistry of Lucas, and Jess, nearly scorched my eyebrows off when it EXPLODED into a fiery ball of sexy scene goodness that will absolutely melt knickers into nothing. I will continue to read this super sexy series, that gets my controlling self thinking differently, so I have no choice but to HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND to everyone, including alpha females!

This book follows Rachel De Lunes two other books in the Evermore series. This story is about Izzys best friend Jessica. Jessica is only sort of aware of her friends dynamics with her new husband and when she is introduced to one of their friends she gets to learn a bit more. Izzy and her husband have a D/s relationship and until Jess meets Lucas, she does not realize it is what she might need in her life as well.
Jess has a hard time trusting people, which is understanding considering the two most series relationships she had turned out terrible. When she meets Lucas at her new counselors office, she is sure that she would not see him again but when she gets invited to dinner at her friends house she is surprised to see him there. Not a good thing when she has her on-again-off-again boyfriend with her that makes her unhappy.

As the story goes on, we learn Lucas is a Dom which is how he knows Jess' friend Izzy and her husband. Jess is curious about this but has never thought that was her thing but decides to try to see what it is about with a little coaxing from her friend. Over time he (as well as help from her psychiatrist) forces her to learn to trust again.

I have loved this series and was happy to be able to read this book (in this case in exchange for review but I will buy it as well) but I feel that is missing the passion the other two had. The characters have passion but I feel the story was a bit rushed.
I could also be biased because in the stories about Izzy, her character seemed to really be about being a sub but Jess seems too stubborn to either allow herself to be in that type of relationship or only wants the bedroom appeal of it and not the whole package.

As normal though, it was wonderful writing that kept me reading and wanting to know what was going to happen.

I fooking love Rachel. Properly. Like a fat kid loves cake. She makes me smile. She writes like an angel (all be it one with a less than perfect halo!)
BUT... I didn't enjoy this book as much as her other 2.
Now, let me tell you why... JESS.
I came into this book having read both More and Forever More. They tell the story of Izzy & Seb. Jess is Izzy's best friend. I didn't like her then and I don't like her now, despite Rachel's best attempts to sway me.
I find her selfish, inconsiderate, down right bitchy. She is about as pleasant as a week old prawn cocktail. I cannot, for the life of me, understand Luc's attraction to her...but I can understand why he enjoys spanking her so much!
Now Luc. He is the saving grace of this story. He made this story one I really enjoyed. A true Knight. The man of most women's dreams.
This book is dominated by sex. Steamy, wet knicker inducing sex. It's HOT. Actually, it's beyond that. But, not only is it that, it's actually quite a moralistic tale of living for the now, not dwelling on the past. If I had warmed to Jess a bit more, I'd have said it was endearing.

I guess I should have left my preconceptions of Jess at the cover of this book. Given her the benefit of a fresh start, allowed her X Factor winner of a sob story to pull at my heart strings and whisk me away, along to her HEA. For all intents and purposes, this is a 5 star read. I just can't get over Jess!

Note: I would probably change my review for this book now that I have read Books 1 & 2.  I couldn't connect with Jessie since this was my first book.  I will make it a point to go back and read Surrender to More soon.  But, I had no time to go back prior to the new cover reveal.

I wish I could say that I really loved Surrender to More. I loved Lucas Clark but, I had a real hard time getting in to Jessica Riley. I wanted Lucas to go and find another woman. Jessica had too many problems.

Okay after saying that. I did like Surrender to More I am just not in love with this book. Jessica had been left at the alter and I know if that had happened to me I would probably have trust issues too. That is the ultimate embarrassment. Plus, other things that had happened in her life just reinforced her insecurities & trust issues.

I really wanted Lucas to “Dom” out her problems. If he just spanked her and she found that his domineering her she could just let loose with her trust issues.

Surrender to More can be read as a standalone. I received a copy of this book for an honest review and I give it 3.75 stars

This was an absolutely beautiful story of learning to love and trust again. After being hurt badly in the past, Jessica no longer trusts men with her heart. She's built up walls around her chest cavity, allowing them access to her body but not to her deepest thoughts and desires.

Enter Luc, the sizzling, sexy psychiatrist who also happens to be the hottest Dom I've read about in a while. Their attraction is instant and I loved watching the way he drew her out and opened her up to loving and trusting again.

The story will have you both swooning and sobbing into your wine. Rachel has a great talent for writing characters with struggles we can all relate to on some level and I always come away from reading her work feeling like I've been hanging out with an old friend. Her male characters sizzle - equal parts caring and demanding - and it was great to see my old pals Izzy and Seb in this one.

Another great book from a writer I've come to expect great things of! I look forward to seeing what she has for us next!
