If you enjoy thrilling stories that sweep you away across the world and into the lives of spies risking it all, this story is one you should definitely read.
Vince Vogel has written a series, The Alex Dorring Thrillers, of which AGENT 192 is the first. Vogel has the special ability to make the reader actually visualize a movie of his story while reading.
AGENT 192 introduces us to Alex Dorring, the most elite of all elite spies in MI6 and his journey back from a heart-wrenching episode taking the lives of his family and the resulting madness.
There’s so much to experience and learn from AGENT 192. Get ready for the roller coaster thrills Alex Dorring takes you on!
Always good to find another writer who makes fictional people real. Conspiracy buffs will love this series. I enjoyed a great story and look forward to reading the next. Thanks again for the ride
The story keeps you on the edge of your seat. Twisting and turning the plot so you really aren’t sure who is good and who isn’t. Very entertaining. Enjoy.
In no way am I a critic. I just know what I enjoy reading, being a fan of this genre. I did not enjoy this, yet I did finish reading it. Though I enjoy senseless violence and gratuitous sex, this went overboard for me. The violence was overwhelming, and totally unbelievable. The plot included many characters, none of which were very appealing so it was hard to figure out who to root for. The changing time periods and locations made it difficult to put down and pick up and remember where you were. The violence was so constant and unpleasant I didn’t want to read it without frequent breaks. The different agents obviously had different numbers, and it became difficult to keep all of the numbers straight. I didn’t even care to make the effort. The plot became pretty stereotypical and there was little if any character development. It ended with the expectation that there is more to follow, but I will not be looking for it. I understand the work that was put into this, and there was occasional flickering enjoyment, but all in all, the end product failed. Sorry!
Plenty of Action but a bit Disjointed for an MI6 Story
Spies, betrayal, abandonment & International intrigue. The story takes place over several years making it difficult to follow at times. Missions go sideways sometimes and the even the best agents get left behind. When an agent is meant to be sacrificed in order to get a larger fish so to speak, there are bad feelings. If the agent somehow survives as agent 192 does, there may not be much left of his mind until given a reason. This story is all about those reasons.
While I found the beginning of the novel to be a little confusing while the author set up the characters and background, I’m pleased to have not thrown in the towel. This is a well thought out story that included several unexpected twists. Like a lot of thrillers, it’s difficult to imagine these events could actually occur. But if you enjoy a good story, I recommend you give this a try. I plan on reading the next book in this series.
Though it is a fiction, there is always a lingering thought in the mind if it ever happens!
BOOM Booomm. What could be said beyond that. You are driven in a speed high way with lot of actions. Though we know the plot by cole is not going to be materialised, we are hooked to know how Alex is to thwart it. A real action thriller and I wonder why it is not tried in Hollywood. R.Ethiraj. India
Not to be confused with GoodRead, the Amazon rate and review system. I enjoyed the book, though I could have used a play book to keep in mind who was with whom (Can't tell a friend from a foe without a play book!). Brian (GBR) lent a British MI6 voice to the storyline. Very much-needed.
A lot of feeding-do grand mischief...and big stretches of the imagination! I suppose I expected the calm, procedural, logical story to be had in his Jack Sheridan novels. These latter are much better, all around. All the same, for all the stretches, a decent read...
While I would rather the author use a name instead of number for his warriors the mystery was very interesting as well as varied. The twists and turns between good and bad keep you wondering what is going to happen next.
Author kept me guessing whole book. Great read and page turner. Age old themes that author spiced up with great characters and story. Great ending and lead into next book in series.
This is my first VV book and I found it to be very nice book. Dorring's adventure was thrilling, different from other books and it leaves you wanting for more-which I already set up to buy the series.
