After fighting for so long with no solution, River commits to hurting herself daily making the emotional pain physical in an effort to mask the hurt. However, all of that is about to change in the blink of an eye for young River after an encounter with Jaki Strozier.

Jaki Strozier is way out of River’s league, or so she thinks. That is, until a string of unfortunate circumstances seem to keep bringing them together. Literally on the brink of life, she’s pulled back again by Jaki and his brother. But will River accept her Superman or will her only way out of her misery be to end the hardship called life?

Phenix, River’s older and overprotective cousin, has been looking out for River since she came to live with her and her mom. So, when the opportunity comes up for River to date her man’s younger brother, Phenix thinks that it’s perfect yet she places a shield over River believing that Jaki is only a replica of his brother after finding out about Ja’Keis’s deceit. When her heart starts to grow cold because of all the foolishness going around in their relationship, will Phenix move on from Ja’Keis or will he be able to get her heart pumping again?

I need book 2 now

I promise Ms. Nakia is the stuff. This book is so good. I have mix emotions about River. She was irritating me with the low self-esteem but I had to remember she was in highschool and those years can be rough. I hope her mom does not cause her to harm herself.
