Jenna Harris is a wedding planner who doesn’t believe in fairytales…at least not for her. When police officer Noah Baker comes on the scene, she begins to wonder if she’s been mistaken but there's no time for romance, even if she wanted it.
Jenna took custody of her half-brother, Lucas, after the death of her father and stepmother. Now she’s busy launching her business and raising him at the same time. But something's going on with Lucas...
He's involved with a bad crowd and up to no good.
Can Noah intervene and convince Jenna that sometimes fairytales do come true?
Noah is book 3 in the steamy Brothers in Blue Series
WARNING - These stories contain steamy scenes and are not suitable for all ages. 18+
I've read both of the previous books in Simone Carter's Brothers in Blue Series and enjoyed them. Like the other brothers, Noah is an awesome leading man, and I liked Jenna as well (except for the part where she tries to say she doesn't have time for love because she's still raising her brother?!) Uhh...he's a 21-year old brat!🙄
I loved the direction the storyline was going in. Jenna is another brave and beautiful heroine who managed to overcome after enduring so much loss and pain, as well as surviving an abusive marriage. Noah is kind, strong, compassionate, brave, and also a great cop. But there's a significant detail about this book that's like the others, and made this story drop from a solid 4 stars to 3. At least 80% of the book was going so well (well, some of the sex scenes were a little iffy, but no biggie) until that dreaded, yet anticipated climatic confrontational scene with the antagonist happens.
I don't know what it is about Simone Carter, but she seems to enjoy having the bad guy tie up a loved one, and forcing the heroine to "get in the kitchen and cook me [them] something to eat!" I really don't care much for this part of the story, or this idea. And this is quite unfortunate because the stories are actually interesting and keeps me glued to the pages, then bam! We take a little side turn because apparently assault and murder doesn't deter the bad guy's hungry stomach?! Ehh...
Aside from that, I think Ms. Carter is a really good author, but needs to have some variation when dealing with the antagonist. I'm actually wondering if she plans to do a book for the twin sisters since they're also cops? Either way, I'd read more of her books.
Wedding planner Jenna Harris loves her job helping couples have their dream wedding, but she doesn’t believe in the fairytale and happily ever after. Jenna has been disappointed from the time her mother passed away when she was a child. First by her father then her husband. The same husband who abused her, ran drugs and was then killed by Detective Noah Baker. The same Noah Baker who is brother to the fiancés of her best friends. When Noah rescues her from a convenience store holdup, he uses that as a reason to get close to her. Will Jenna be able to see past the hurt and betrayal of her past and let the feelings that she has for Noah take flight? Throw in her rebellious younger brother and a drug dealer and we have lots of action. Great HEA. I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Jenna is a wedding planner, and it's her job to make dreams come true. When she is in the wrong place at the wrong time, Noah, a policeman is there to save the day. But is he her prince charming? This is a fun, action packed listen. From the very beginning, we get to experience the fear of gunpoint, and the rush of adrenaline following. Is this the reason for the attraction between Jenna and Noah? Simone Carter weaves a romantic suspense around this couple that keeps the action high and the thrills coming. I love her style, her inclusion of previous characters and the personality of Jenna and Noah. Their chemistry is immediate, but the burn is slow. The back story of Jenna's family adds some intensity and depth. Liisa Blackwell continues to narrate the series and makes it an enjoyable listen.
It was the first time for me to listen to this author and narrator. I think the author did a great job in telling the story, it wasn't dragged out and came to a conclusion very swiftly. I would love to listen to the rest of the books in this series and a few more has gone onto my wish list.
The only part that I didn't like was that Jenna was very self doubting maybe a bit to much but that is my own personal feelings to the situation.
The narrator was average and maybe this was one of her first narration work, there where a few phrases that was repeated. I would listen to the narrator again as I believe every one deserves a second chance.
I would recommend this book to anyone new to the suspense romance genre.
thankfully the final book is done. Once again a superficial, told in the first person story
This woman is so busy with her business that she forgot she is the primary caregiver/adult/parent for a teen boy. It is no wonder that boy found trouble, how many nights was he out late that she took a bath and went to bed only to get up the next day before him and leave for work. It seemed they went for days without seeing each other. I have no respect for this woman.
Noah was another great read by Simone Carter. This is book three in the Brothers in Blue series. Jenna is a wedding planner who has been hurt in the past and doesn't believe she will ever find love. She meets police officer Noah and starts wondering if she has been wrong all along. Jenna has been taking care of her half brother who gets mixed up with the wrong crowd. I absolutely loved reading Noah and Jenna's story and can't wait to read more by Simone Carter.
My favorite of the 'Brothers In Blue' series. Note: stories standalone with recurring characters.
The characters were likable and well characterized. The setting realistic. A bit over done on how much is going on in Jana's life but it does feel like that at times.
I wish this series was the Baker Family Series, would like to know the sisters stories.
Lissa Blackwell did an admirable job narrating and portraying the characters.
This is the third book in the Brothers in Blue Series, a short Romantic Suspense. Jenna and Noah's slow burn story is suspenseful, fast-paced, and action packed. They share a great chemistry. Noah is handsome! I love to see the other charcters from the first books, Darcy/Nick, and Sophie/Nate. Lissa Blackwell did a good narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Jenna was the wedding planner for Darcy & Nick's Wedding and a!so Sophia & Nate's. She met Noah through them. He was the youngest Baker brother. They run into each other during a convenience store robbery where he saves her life. She is raising her half brother and running her business. She has had one bad marriage and is a little fun shy. Can Noah change that.
I have really enjoyed the first two books in this series and this one did not disappoint!! Such strength and love these two have for each other that once you start listening you will not be able to stop until it is over. I love the beauty in the writing as well as a wonderful narration.
