I received this journal for free from the publisher in return for my honest, unbiased review.
This notebook is made for people that don’t have lots of time to journal. I liked the reflection questions of the day and the fun pictures to start off the week along with an encouraging quote. There is lots of space for the question of the week. The first question is, “If you could make one wish that was guaranteed to come true, what would it be? How different would your life be once it was granted?” Here’s a fun quote starting on week two, “Dogs come when they’re called; cats take a message and get back to you later.” – Mary Bly, writer.
Makes a great gift, and something to look back on. Space for notes, doodles, there is also the End-of- Year Q & A section that lists 20 questions for reflection. The first one is “What can you do now that you weren’t able to do a year ago?”
I recommend this fun book for those young people who like to journal but don’t have lots of time.

Express Yourself: The One-Year Journal for Girls by Katherine Flannery and Illustrated by Elizabeth Graeber is a great year-long guided journal for girls (for anyone, really).
There are weekly questions to answer, in addition to writing a little snippet for each day of the year. If you tend to write very long daily entries, then you will need to do it outside of this book, which only allows a few lines for the daily entries.
The weekly questions range from the not-so-serious to questions of depth, such as describing the funniest thing that ever happened to you and how you have dealt with rumors being spread about you.
There are round up questions after the year of journaling, which help you to reflect on the year. Some of these can be very emotional, depending on how your year has gone.
Express Yourself is a great book to help a person get into the practice of daily journaling without being overwhelming.

Spend a few minutes a day and create a unique time capsule by journaling. Reflecting on your day and putting it down on paper can maximize your joy when something great happens and also serve as a tool to get something off your chest. This journal gives you the space to record a year’s worth of experiences and memories and feelings. Weekly space for daily reflections, a quote, and a question for the week. There are 20 questions at the end of the book to reflect on your year. This is an open journal, whereas you can start at anytime of the year, you don’t have to start January 1st or at the beginning of a month. I think this journal is a great introduction for young girls to start the journaling practice. ARC provided by the publisher
Journaling is like the new age diary and Express Yourself is a great start to journaling for any young girl. It is a great Christmas gift idea as it is a one year journal but there are no dates, rather days (Monday-Sunday) So a perfect gift any time of year. I just love the idea of creating a time capsule for any growing girl to look back on and reflect. It offers many writing prompts to help the beginner, space for notes or doodles and inspirational quotes! A very nice journal! I received this book from the publisher for review purposes only and all opinions are 100 mine.
