This is author Noelle Greene’s second book in her Blue Mill Intuition series. From the first moments of the book, it captured my attention, and by the end of the book, it had captured my heart

When shots rang out in the normally peaceful town of Blue Mill, Washington, police officer, Matt Carson was one of the first responders. Inside the convenience store where the drive-by shooting occurred, Matt found Jillian Hoffman. After giving her statement and voicing her concern for the wellbeing of teen she had seen moments before the violence occurred, Jillian returned inside the store. This was where Matt found her as the investigation was winding down. Usually calm and collected, right now the young widow was anything but. Slowly and easily, Matt spoke to Jillian, helping her regain her composure. Matt had always thought very highly of the school teacher. Not only was she a strong woman, but she was also beautiful. Matt had met her years earlier and the memory of that brief encounter had always held a special place in his memory. Now fate was bringing them together once again.

Random acts of violence continued to occur in Blue Mill. While working to restore peace to the little town he had sworn to protect, Matt in also fighting his growing attraction toward Jillian. And Jillian is fighting the same battle. Matt finds himself equally drawn to Jillian’s young son, Henry, who is dealing with his own problems.

Everything comes to a head when Henry goes missing. What started out as a bike ride to the restaurant where his late Father once worked, quickly turns deadly when the boy falls into the hands of those responsible for bringing the violence to Blue Mill. Relying on all of his skills, including his warrior’s intuition, Matt is able to locate the boy and get him to safety. But Jillian isn’t so luck. Not willing to leave the fate of her son in the hands of another, she throws herself into danger in order to rescue her son. With the aid of other police officers, Matt is able to contain the situation and get the injured Jillian to the hospital where she receives the medical attention she needs. Without Matt’s ‘knowledge’, the situation would have turned out far worse.

It is while she is recovering from her injuries, that Matt and Jillian were able to reveal to each other how the chance meeting years ago shaped both of their lives. Now, finally they are able to act on the attraction they were unable to admit to years earlier.

Jillian is traumatized by the murder of her husband. All she wants is peace, quiet, and safety for herself and her son. Matt is a cop putting his life on the line every day while dealing with a violent crime wave and horrible, gory accidents. Physical fireworks can’t possibly bridge the gap between them—can they? Characters you want to know, crisp dialogue, and sweet romance. Rated R.

There isn’t a woman who hasn’t longed for a HEA and for many of them it means to have it with a man who’s in uniform; whether it mean he’s a serviceman or a first responder, it doesn’t quite matter as long as he’s one. Such a romance happens in romance books, in the fantasies many women dream about, even better it happens it real life. And many even fantasize about this even though they’re already have a HEA of their own.

Jillian Hoffman already has her HEA with her husband, a restaurateur in the small town of Blue Mill, Washington, and has a young son, Henry. All is fine in her life until the day she takes her son for a haircut and has a brief encounter with hot looking police Matt Carson. This brief interaction ignites a passion driven fantasy in her mind regarding him, while at the same time Matt is enthralled by Jillian’s looks and personality; but seeing a wedding ring on her fingers he knows makes her off limits.

Fate, as you know, always has a manner of stepping into situations like these and to make deep “secrets” desires happen. This is happens to Jillian and Matt, happens a year later when her husband gets killed in his restaurant which renders her unemotional to the world around her. Two years later she happens to stop at a convenience store and witnesses a drive-by shooting which causes her unemotional façade to crumble; and Matt finds her drinking beer while sitting on the floor.

But what truly turns the tide is when her Jillian’s son goes missing and she winds up getting injured when she decides to put herself in danger to get him back, while at the same time Matt is trying to do his job to save her son, which he succeeds in doing. This opens the door not the healing process for her injuries, but more important the healing process for the “secret” relationship they share for each other. The question here is whether Jillian is willing to have her HEA with a guy who puts in life on the line each day, and whether she’s willing to become shellshock for the second time if she loses another HEA.

The storyline has suspense and numerous twists which leaves the reader wondering whether these two will get the HEA they’ve both wanted for several years since their first brief encounter, which is why I’ve given this book 5 STARS.

Matt and Jillian

The second book in the Blue Mill series can be read as a standalone and has an HEA. The featured characters were introduced in book one, but enough background is provided to understand and enjoy this book. Like Camille in Lover's Intuition, Officer Matt Carson has some degree of clairsentience. But unlike Camille, he hasn't revealed his ability, often writing it off as "a hunch".
Matt met and fell into infatuation with fifth grade teacher Jillian Hoffman, at the barber shop three years earlier. Because she was wearing a wedding ring and had a young boy with her, he swallowed his disappointment and tried to forget about her.
Jillian never forgot the day she met Matt in a brief encounter when she took her son to get his hair cut. She was married, though, and relegated the handsome officer to her fantasy world until a year later, when her husband was murdered in the kitchen of his restaurant and she locked her emotions away. Two years later, she feels like she is just existing on the surface of life when she stops at a convenience store on her way home. And that's where Matt later finds her some time later, sitting in the floor drinking beer and eating candy. She's just witnessed a drive by shooting, is in shock, and her carefully constructed facade has fractured.

It is time to move on. Jillian has been caught up in a drive by shooting and she is about to meet the man of her fantasies. Will he remember meeting her all those years ago? Matt has never forgotten that first meeting on the barber shop but she was married and he could never have her. Now that she is here just maybe he can get his chance it just isn't the right time again.
Jillian tries to be strong yet the past has come rushing back her husband was murdered a couple of years ago and the past has never been settled. Matt has wormed his way into her life and her son Henry likes him as well so that is a plus but he is a cop and she just can't lose someone else she cares about.
Their life's are about to change for the worse, Henry goes missing, she gets shot and Matt tries to create some distance between them as he doesn't know if he can be the man that she needs. Will Jillian allow him to walk out of her life or will she fight for a future with him?
A great suspense love story. We all deserve to be happy even when we have had a bad experience in love before. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from librarything in exchange for an honest review.
This is your typical romance novel. But I liked the two main characters a lot. They seemed more likeable to me compared to some other romances I've read. The writing was pretty good, it was a fast read for me.
This is a series, but you don't need to read the first one to know what is going on in this one which was nice! Overall a good read, one I would recommend to anyone looking for a good romance.

Learning to let go isn’t as easy as you might think when it’s easier to play life safe.

Back tracking to the original LOVER’S INTUITION for the moment…
While it look me a chapter or so to get into the Blue Mills series originally - as so much was happening, personalities all vying for their slice of attention, as Noelle Greene established the threads of her story in LOVER’S INTUITION…. it was a spectacular read …Her next book...WARRIOR’S INTUITiON… is just as fabulous and page-turning worthy as was Book 1, yet this offered a slightly different feel at the same time.

It brings you the drama’s and goings on of real life, living in the small town of Blue Mills. Not only starting over as a single parent after tragedy struck but learning to reach out and trust another with your heart and secrets. Learning to let go isn’t as easy as you might think when it’s easier to play life safe. Although, secrets that sometimes overwhelm, aren’t fully communicated and get totally misconstrued can lead to meltdowns no matter how amazing you find the other person.

I found it fascinating that for Matt having a keen sense of intuition for his work…an area where he was confident, relied heavily on his skills, his intuition… yet feared the same intuition into his personal life. It’s great to see that relationships, no matter the attraction… face obstacles and hurdles. Add the drama that your work brings and simply being in the right place at the wrong time leads to all sorts of dramatic suspense, intrigue and conflicts.

A fabulous weekend read, filled with wonderfully engaging characters, especially Henry, Jillian’s son, a young boy who will melt your heart. They have flaws, they show feelings good and bad… it’s life they need to overcome and learn to trust.

Tension, drama, and suspense run rampant through the story, yet that second chance for love, that tugs at your heart strings.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading WARRIOR’S INTUITION and I hope there are more books to come in the BLUE MILL series.

The book I read after an incredible book is always at a disadvantage. Knowing this, I chose this book from Noelle Greene because I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Part of me wants to give this book only 3 stars, but another part of me feels like I may be grading it unfairly due to the last book I read. Therefore, I'm giving it 4 stars.

Warrior's Intuition is a solid book with strong characters, with the exception of the middle school coach who was a bit of a caricature, and just enough tension to keep the story interesting. It has a slight paranormal flavor to it; I feel like this could have been explored more. However, I had a couple of problems with the plot. I'll try to highlight those without any spoilers. That means I may need to be a bit vague.

First of all, the first time they go to the old Victorian house, why doesn't Matt check the basement? For someone so observant, that seems out of character. Secondly, why didn't Jillian think of where Henry would have headed? I'm not his mom, but I immediately suspected his destination. Thirdly, Matt initially stated he didn't want any kind of relationship to be a rebound or something that didn't mean anything. Then, he was the one to pull away and their up barriers. It was infuriating.

It's a quick read, but there was enough meat to draw me into the story and make me care about the characters. I enjoyed it and I think it's worth reading.

Ms. Greene is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. Her books are emotive and intuitive and draw on more than just the five senses. We first met Jillian in Lover's Intuition where we left her broken and vulnerable. Her life is coming together after the senseless murder of her husband but a violent incident pushes her back to square one. In parts, it may seem as if Jillian is needy and defenseless, but having experienced a violent home invasion I was able to identify with her on so many fronts. The connection between Matt and Jillian went way back, even though neither of them acknowledged it. Circumstances bring them together making them aware of each other once again. With a little bit of help from a friend, they both recognise the attraction, but escalating violence gets in the way. When Jillian's son becomes a potential victim of criminal activities, it is Matt's sixth sense that drives him to abandon all to be at her side. The story is well written with a suspenseful plot and a good mix of romance. I loved Matt, his strength and protectiveness, and was able to identify with Jillian. Although this book is part of a series and characters from the previous book appear in this one too, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a very satisfactory conclusion.

This was a tough one for me - I really liked the story.

But overall, I could never warm up to the characters - there was so much push pull between them that that neck brace was a requirement to deal with the whiplash whiplash.

Jillian was definitely suffering from ptsd - somehow life seemed to keep throwing her into these violent situations. Yes, she had feelings for Matt - but she kept pushing them down - almost being passive aggressive abut it. I did see some growth in her by the end - especially when she stood up, spoke up and decided to take the chance.

Matt - where to start with this guy - non communicative, definitely passive aggressive and over shadowing all of that he’s a runner - running away instead of dealing with the hard stuff.

Now, I’m all for broken and wounded characters - because aren’t we all? But, I really need to see growth and how the two make each other better and with these two all I seemed to focus on were their insecurities and issues.

So for me this was a mixed bag.

It might be because we’ve already been introduced to Blue Mill or maybe it’s because we’re already familiar with the fact that some of her residents have abilities that surpass simple human understanding, but this book flies by at a breakneck pace. I was sucked into Jillian and Matt’s world from the beginning and I couldn’t escape until it spat me out at the end; exhausted and satisfied. I was already half in love with the precocious Henry in the first book and this story has cemented his place as one of my favorite kid-characters ever. Jillian and Matt have a lot working against them. Neither has had it easy in the relationship department and they keep rubbing up against each other’s scars. I adore these two together. And, as badly as they made me want to tear my hear out, I loved watching their dance as they figured out how to fit each other into their lives.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

With more than a cop’s instinct, Matt Carson struggles with his feelings toward Jillian Hoffman. Jillian is torn between maintaining her safe, benign façade and her intense attraction to the remote sheriff’s lieutenant. When threats come to the peaceful town of Blue Mill lives are placed in jeopardy, and Matt’s and Jillian’s feelings will be put to the test.

The 2nd story in the Blue Mill series is filled with emotional drama, suspense, and steamy passion. The characters are strong and engaging. The story is an emotional rollercoaster with all its ups and downs, twists and turns. You’ll be drawn in from the very beginning and held spellbound until the very end. I highly recommend this captivating love story!

The author know how to grabs you attention immediately from the start. She gives you down to earth characters that you can relate to with normal issues. I truly loved this couple they give and give taking nothing for their selves. I enjoyed watching Jillian grow as the story goes along. Matt sure is my dream man as I am sure he will be yours.

I loved how the romance builds over time and the lovely way they came together finding out they were meant to be. This was well written giving the read a delightful story you can relate to. I was so invested I could not put it down.

A good read

Book two in the series and you get to see Blue Mill and it's residents a few years down the line from book 1, Yay it means you get a glimpse into Camille and Will's life!

I'm so happy that Matt is getting to shine more, I took to him in book one and that he gets to shine with Jillian and Henry is an added bonus! Grief, secrets, misunderstandings, crime, intuition, bags of chemistry and feelings flow through this (for me) page turner. I really enjoyed Matt and Jillian's connection and admired her strength in fighting for what she wanted after everything she had been through previously and during this story. Looking forward to book three ☺.

I received a free copy of the novel Blue Mill Book 2: Warrior’s Intuition by Noelle Greene and this review was given freely
Intuitive street cop and single dad Matt and widowed single mom Jillian become involved in a slightly steamy, well balanced and suspenseful story with a dramatic opening, unrequited attraction fulfilled, a sinister undertone, not overly graphic violence, and a heartwarming ending. Vivid descriptions and wonderful characters make this action packed novel an interesting and engaging novel that is hard to put down.

I enjoyed reading this book about Jillian and Matt. They have liked each other for years but never acted on it. Jillian is involved in a drive by shooting and Matt turns up to investigate. He sees her struggling to cope but he manages to get her home and settled. Over the course of the book we get to see how his intuition helps protect people especially those he cares about.

Warrior's Intuition is book two in the Blue Mills series and a great read. I loved that this story wasn't rushed and the twists and turns of the story had me captivated. Matt and Jillian go through a lot in their past and are so perfect together. My favorite part of this story is that this gorgeous police officer with great intuition has secretly been in love with Jillian for years.

Great romance!

This book does not disappoint!

Great characters. I would definitely read this book again.

There was just enough sex to further the story/romance and it was not overly explicit.

There was lots of excitement and drama.
