ARE YOU WONDERING HOW TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN TODAY’S CULTURE THAT WILL BENEFIT FUTURE GENERATIONS?
Former Governor Mike Huckabee shares how to live a life that will continue to be felt by those who carry your legacy forward. Whether in politics, family, education, or business, what matters most is leaving a legacy for future generations.
Rare, Medium or Done Well emphasizes the importance of understanding where we’ve been, where we are now, and how both determine where we’re going. Mike asserts, “A person who has no standard to live by other than the culture of the moment is a person whose principles might as well come from the latest public opinion polls.”
American politician and a political commentator for Fox News Channel. A member of the Republican Party,
Huckabee served as governor of the U.S. state of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007 and finished second in the 2008 United States Republican presidential primaries; he announced his candidacy on January 28, 2007. Following losses to John McCain in the Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island primaries, McCain became the presumptive Republican nominee and Huckabee exited the race on March 4, 2008.
Huckabee is the author of several books, an ordained Southern Baptist minister and a public speaker. He is well known for having lost 110 pounds (50 kg) in a very short time and for advocating a healthy lifestyle. He and his wife, Janet, have been married 33 years and have three grown children: John Mark, David, and Sarah.
I was given this as a Christmas present. It’s an ok book. Basically a collection of homilies on how to live a successful Christian life. It has some interesting anecdotes and folksy wisdom. It didn’t engage me, but I didn’t dislike it either. Some people may like it.
Rare, Medium or Done Well: Make the Most of Your Life by author Mike Huckabee was a joy to read. I have read some of his books previously, and I have always been impressed with the wisdom, common sense, humor, and faith of Mike Huckabee. In Rare, Medium, or Done Well the reader finds nuggets of treasure in the forms of advice to families across our nation. He addresses the fluidity of truth which is presented to serve a certain purpose within politics. I appreciate the depth of his faith and it is beautifully written without being oppressive to those who may not share the same religious values. In a summary, the book is about living well, doing good, and the legacy each person leaves. He encourages people to live in honesty and do their best for family and others with what you have or what you know. This is a very inspiring book which I will be purchasing for each of my adult sons. Publication Date November 13, 2018 Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This was a great read by Mike Huckabee. Down-to-earth, common sense tips for life that I think a lot of people could think about in this era. From your early beginning in life to facing death, this book offers thoughtful Christian perspectives that will really cause readers to evaluate their life and how they can live better. A fantastic read, especially if you're a fan of Huckabee.
Perused this pep talk about living well with principles. Doing so is work and will go against the grain of society, so people will need to be strong.
Huckabee is humorous but serious. This book is a shot in the arm for those who are not on board with a lot of what goes on in our world. But that is almost everyone these days!
If you're ready for a challenging trip, pick up this volume from Mike Huckabee and fasten your seatbelt. This is not a political essay; it's about something much more critical - LIFE! How to: live, think, react, grow up, parent, mentor, earn, save, spend, give....and die WELL. As Mike points out (holding no punches) - the one who dies with the most toys doesn't win. It's not about what you have but what you do with what you've been given; and the quality of the legacy you leave behind. Don't let your view of Mike's views on matters of state keep you from reading this book; it really could change your life - or more importantly your afterlife.
A VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD POSITIVE BOOK ABOUT HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE AND MAKE THE MOST OF IT. I LOVE HIS HUMOR AND QUICK LITTLE STORIES OR ILLUSTRATIONS. THE QUESTIONS AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER ARE GOOD FOR DISCUSSION WITH A SMALL GROUP OR YOUR FAMILY. WHAT IS THERE NOT TO LIKE ABOUT GOVERNOR HUCKABEE; ONE OF MY FAVORITE PUBLIC PERSONALITIES AND A HUGE FAN OF HIS TV SHOW NOW ON TBN.
Outstanding bites-sized chapters in this book are compacted with the wisdom that Governor Mike Huckabee has thoughtfully accumulated during his well spent life. To be honest, this book should be a regular go-to item when seeking a gift for that recent graduate in your life.
