Debra lives in a little house in the woods in Maryland with three sons, and a Noah’s ark of four legged family members. She has a corporate job during the day, and writes novels at night, after the kids are tucked in bed.

She drives an Excursion affectionately called The Beast, couldn’t carry a tune if you duct taped it to her back, and enjoys an occasional cosmopolitan (heavy on the vodka). On a good day, she jogs and horseback rides, hopefully managing to keep the horse between herself and the ground.

Her only known super power is ‘Identify Roadkill’.

Wonderful pre-christmas treat

I loved everything about this unexpected bonus novella. Sam is a much better role model than she gives herself credit for. Lux will, for sure, become an angel of Order trailblazer because of her. As to who left the poison ivy leaves in the kale salad and laxatives in the Christmas cake... I'll leave that for you to discover on your own. I found it oddly heartwarming and sweet. Ho ho ho!

I loved seeing Sam and Lux finally bond, as always with humor. It is great to know that Lux, angel of order or not, will have imp like tendencies.

The fourth and last Imp short story I read during my break. This one set post-end of series (though another Imp book is scheduled to appear later this year).

Story didn’t really involve Gregory, which is how I was able to rate this one so highly.

Sam, for reasons, is hosting a Christmas get together at her place. And is attempting to try to find a specific toy for her adopted son. Story involves her attempting to find said toy, while also agreeing to be the Angel Ruling Council representative at several events (largely because she wasn’t paying attention when the council asked her to do it).

Is good story. And despite the late reading of said story, as in being read roughly 10 days after Christmas, it actually worked perfectly since the family actually celebrated Christmas on January 4th. I actually began the story before then ended it after the family party. So that added something to the reading.

Down the Chimney is book 10.5 of the Imp series. I loved this book. It was a great short story. I am very invested in these characters and their lives after all these books, so I am happy to grab onto any little tidbit written for the series. This book needs to follow book 10 or there will be spoilers and that's not any fun. I recommend this series to those who enjoy urban fantasy and fantasy.
The narrator isn't my favorite but she gets the job done and I have gotten used to her voices by now so it would be weird to have anyone else narrate for this series.

Weird and wonderful Christmas story!

I lmao through most of it!

Just thinking of Satan trying to get a toy for Lux, well just makes for a brilliant read.

Had to snicker loudly as the salad became a boomerang, she threw it out, but it always came back 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍

Down The Chimney - An Imp Series Novella

Down The Chimney.

This is a Christmas story involving Sam, the Iblis, her angel friends, her adopted baby angel Lux, demons, humans and a special toy.
Lux has asked for a special gift, for his Christmas gift. Sam, being the loving and caring adoptive mom, wants nothing more then finding, buying, wrapping and giving this special gift to Lux, on Christmas morning.
But, like most parents learn, what you wish for, especially special toys at Christmas time, can be a trying experience.
So, you can only imagine how difficult it became for Sam to try and secure this special toy. And, like most determined parents, Sam went to all the toy stores, department stores etc, but very few of these special toys were available.
Sam earned “the good mother” award for trying. As Christmas Eve approached, Sam had no luck and so with a heavy heart, she explained to her little angel not all wishes come true.
Christmas Day arrives and Sam has invited close to 30 people, demons, humans and angels for Christmas dinner. Everyone brought side dishes or desserts. One very special angel had been invited, but he never showed up to eat or visit.
I must say, I believe the author, Debra Dunbar, has a deep hatred for the vegetable “Kale”! And, it spills over for “Fruitcakes” too. :)
This was a hilarious and heartwarming story. Sam’s language can be hair curling, at times, but her love obsession, with Archangel Michael (and he with her) has no limits.
The story has a wonderful and surprising ending, which I’m sure most will enjoy. Another wonderful addition to the Imp Series?

Wickedly hysterical!

You'll need a wicked sense of humor to like this one!

Debra Dunbar has outdone herself writing a seasonal tale about Samantha Martin, The Iblis, Angel of Chaos, Imp Demon and new adoptive mom to Luxe, an unpredictable baby Angel of Order in Down the Chimney: an Imp Series Novella.

I suppose reading the previous books in the series would help grasping the concept of why Sam is so devilish, but I think it still might be fun for a new reader to discover the world with Angels of Order and Chaos in The Imp World novels.

Imagine learning to be yourself as a parent from Satan's point of view. With appearances from the other Angelic Ruling Council members who are almost like the Archangels we knew of from Sunday school with a sacrilegious and human twist.

This novella is fun, fun, fun, with bawdy behavior and humor that takes place before Christmas. I want more.

Perfectly Done

I am a huge fan of the Imp series and anything Debra Dunbar writes, and she's in fine form for this novella. I loved every minute of reading this and I couldn't recommend it more! Our favorite demon/imp/Iblis/Angel of Chaos is rocking Christmas--in her own lovable way. It's just so fun, you have to read it. Must-read level, IMHO. So merrily gift yourself with some time spent in Sam's chaotic graces. I am certain that you will enjoy it. Especially if you are a parent...

As Always, I Wish Happy Reads to All from the Unapologetic Book Junkie 🙂!

Sam is amazingly irreverent and hysterically funny, as always. Watching her navigate the perils and pitfalls of the most lauded human holiday is laugh out loud funny. From trying to find a turkey large enough to feed thirty guests to standing in line all night trying to score the coveted toy of the season, there is something that everyone can relate to in Sam's holiday experience. I would highly recommend this book for a good holiday laugh even if you have never heard of the Imp Series.

Wonderful book

This is a great addition to the imp series. I love all of the books in the series, including the short stories. This author is very talented, and she is great at keeping the stories tied in together. One of my favorite authors, that I've just discovered. I would recommend this book, as well as the series to anyone. I can't wait to read more books from Debra Dunbar.

Hilarious! I can’t count the times I laughed out loud while listening to this. It made it even funnier to think that if someone was reading this novella for the first time without reading the previous books, it would seem COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE......beyond offensive! But, knowing Sam and all the history, it’s just hilarious 😂

I am DEAD

Frickin a man. This novella was hilarious. I had to stop myself from highlighting the entire book. I’m still smiling as I write this. I love Sam and I’m so glad Debra Dunbar is still visiting her world. Definitely worth it.

2.5 to 3 stars, I am not a big fan of short stories, this one is one of the better ones with it's comedy but it is hard to get too involved in a short story. I do like this series in general and I would recommend it but not necessarily this book as again I am not a fan of the short story.

Really funny story. I really wish this wasn't the last of Sam and her clan. There's so much more she could write about, especially since Samuael has been found. I love the Imp World and I am really going to miss them.
