You want to believe God has called you and given you purpose, but how do you get from feeling stuck to making a move? Here's what's You are the girl for the job ...and that's not just a peppy catchphrase. This is the straight-up truth God has proclaimed over your life from the beginning, and Jess Connolly shares it's not dependent on what you can do or achieve but based on His power, capacity, and character. It has taken one million, maybe one zillion (who knows?!), slight moves of His hand to place you in this exact moment. So forget about fear and second-guessing your gifts, because God has meticulously prepared you to be an ambassador for the Kingdom right where you are, here and now. Life is too short to get stuck in a holding pattern of shame, self-doubt, and comparison. So let this study be your very good you don't have to wait for permission when you've already been commissioned . Jess walks you through the six steps she has used to help women jumpstart into confident, purposed With passion and heart-pumping hope, Jess shows that being the girl for the job doesn't depend on your capacity. Rather, it has everything to do with God's capacity and our willingness. It has everything to do with believing we are who God says we are, and quieting any inferior word spoken against us. I wasn't going to buy this study guide. I remember buying a study guide along-with a book before, and it pretty much repeated what the book had already said. However, Faith Gateway gave us the first week of this one free. It mentioned Hosea 6:3 (a Bible-verse I hadn't really noticed before about refreshment). I thought as I had benefitted from week 1, I would buy the guide and carry on with it, and I wasn't disappointed.
For each week, there's a note from Jess, a page where you can fill in the blanks (to check you've paid attention to the weekly video!), and 3 days of personal study: Day 1 - heart, day 2 - head (with lots of Scripture-references), and day 3 - hands (with steps we could take practically). A really well-written guide; great to accompany the book.
God always puts what I need at the right time, and this bible study was no different. As a mom, wife, and student, it is easy to get caught up in the day to day in my busy life. Even though it's only three days of work weekly, it still has the depth to allow j you to grow your walk with Jesus and remind you to jump off the cliff into His arms when you've sought out His will.
Great book. Maybe geared a little bit towards those from 15-40. I found myself taking quotes and sharing them with my daughters. A lot of material is wisdom that I wish I had known in my earlier years.thabks Jess. A good addition to faith based books for women. 💜
The actual book is GREAT, the study guide, just meh. There were LOTS of typos and it felt too vague for me to get much out of the guide. I did complete this study alone though so it could be way more productive with a group.
This workbook was very helpful in applying the material from the companion book. I was part of a study group that used the book, workbook and video series. I especially loved the "Change the Language, Change the Culture" sections in this workbook.
I loved this book, the author writes from her heart including a lot of her personal struggles and victories into the book. Definitely lines up the Bible and what is has to say. Would recommend to every Female Christian, young or old!
