The most notorious crime syndicate in New York City has its reputation for a reason. When I traded my powers for protection, I didn’t understand the stipulations that came with it. If I had, I never would have made this choice.
I finally found something worse than losing my powers, and it’s losing the reason I have them in the first place. I stole from my paired mages when I brought them here. For Kendall, I took his twin. From Cedric, his wealth. From Flynn, his studies. From Draven, I took his freedom.
The Underground is changing us. Whether or not we make it out alive, we’ll never be the same mages we were when we went in. Change can be a good thing, but not when it threatens the very fiber that once defined me.
There are things you can’t come back from, and I’m afraid this is one of them.
ABANDON is a young adult/new adult paranormal reverse harem romance novel. It is the third in the Forgotten Affinities series.
This book adds more complexity to the series as Octavia learns new skills and matures from her dire experiences finding herself placed in situations beyond her basic skillset. She has ephipanies, discovers more about her men, and faces hurdles she couldn’t even dream of. Can’t wait for the next novel where one of it’s strengths is the author’s style of producing a book a month to keep up the ability to maintain the strength of fluidity and continuity in a series.
So as I have said in previous post I had my doubts and complaints. Although I just couldn’t stop reading. To the point that the series has grown on me, so much so that I am sad that I have finished the third book. I am left with wanting more. Such I great job by the author I can’t wait to read more.
See my review for #1 Also, why is this being labeled a paranormal?? It's fantasy. One more--it's also called young adult/new adult. Nope. It has teen characters--it's YA. Why are there such inaccurate labels here. Sigh.
These books are entertaining, sure, but they aren't great. This was a fun read and I wasn't expecting much from it; however, the ending blew me away. I was so pumped to finally see a heroine do the smart thing instead of agonizing over the choice or endlessly trying to find "another, better way." I don't think I've ever seen and I f***ing loved it! It's still just an average, YA read, but I'm officially impressed.
I have read the previous books and they were actually very good. This one had a bit of a twist which gave the overall story intrigue. I really enjoyed it!
I absolutely love this series. Yet again the author added in some twists that were not anticipated. I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store for us.
