Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.
Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.
She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.
In the third book of the Texas Rascals Nick and Michelle have gone undercover for their job. They are posing as a newly married couple at a ranch in Rascal, Texas. They are to uncover the culprits in horse doping at the Triple Fork Stables. Nick and Michelle have a real love/hate relationship. They are both stubborn as mules and independent. Michelle thinks Nick is also controlling and has quite the ego.
Michelle was brought up around horses and knows and loves everything about them. In her opinion this is the perfect job for her. She and Nick are hired by the ranch as a husband and wife team to be the ranch manager and cook for the crew. That is where they really tangle. Because she knows so much about horses, Michelle feels she should be the manager and let Nick do the cooking. Well, you can just imagine how Nick feels about that. He is none too pleased and he vetoes that idea right away. And that is how their story begins.
Together they are funny, sarcastic, stubborn and yet there is a fire burning inside each of them. They have had their walls up for so long they do not know how to handle the fire and if they even should do anything about it. This is a wonderful story of love with some suspense thrown in. I loved every minute of this book and look forward to what Lori Wilde has in store next.
Nick by Lori Wilde Texas Rascals Series Book Three Nick Nickerson is great at his job as an undercover detective. He's learned how to adapt as needed, thanks to his childhood. He also learned never to back down from a fight. When he's teamed with a stubborn, hard-headed woman for an undercover case...he needs to learn when to back down...and when to fight back.
Michele Mallory hates that she feels attracted to the self-confident, egotistical Nick. She grew up with a controlling father, the last thing she wants or needs is to fall for a guy like that. Besides, law enforcement—her work—is all she needs. She's seen what happens in a marriage first hand with her parents. She doesn't need to test it out herself.
A great story as these two hard-headed people get thrown together to solve a case. If they can stop fighting each other long enough to remember what they are there for. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Ah, the classic "fake honeymoon to catch a criminal" trope—because nothing says romance like dodging danger while pretending to be blissfully in love, right? Undercover Honeymoon delivers exactly that, blending sizzling chemistry, high-stakes suspense, and a hero who is equal parts exasperating and irresistible. Our heroine? Sharp, resourceful, and in way over her head. Our hero? A grumpy, duty-bound undercover agent who did not sign up for catching feelings. But let’s be honest—he never stood a chance. The banter crackles, the tension is dialed up to eleven, and the forced proximity? Chef’s kiss. Laura Anthony (a.k.a. early Lori Wilde) knew how to keep readers hooked, and this one is no exception. Whether you’re here for the danger, the slow-burn romance, or just to see a tough guy realize he’s completely undone by one determined woman, Undercover Honeymoon delivers. Four and a half "This mission was not supposed to be this distracting" sighs out of five. 🔥🕶️💕
Nick and Michelle hate each other and now they must work together once again On a case but this time they are going undercover as husband and wife. These two are so much alike and love to argue I dint even know if I see them as a couple. Michelle finds fault in everything Nick does which gets annoying at times. She really needs to grow up and, earn to admit her true feelings. Nick is a little better at least he can joke and does not blame her for anything. She even blames him for her accident on their last case when he told her to stay and wait for him, she didn’t . So do Nick and Michelle work through their differences and find their happily ever after. This was a quick read for me and I do love an enemies to lovers romance I just had some problems with Michelle’s character.
Nick was a great story about two headstrong people that have an undeniable attraction to each other. Michelle grew up in a household with two headstrong people that ended in divorce so she is dead set against acting on the attraction. Nick grew up in a home with an alcoholic dad that liked to hit so he knows that he can't judge what's between them but he wants to explore it.
They end up as undercover spouses for their department. I recommend this as a wonderful afternoon book. It's entertaining and fun. I love the way she develops the characters. You can picture these two in a small house trying to stay out of each other's way!
Nick and Michelle are so alike it's scary. As law enforcement officials, they're born strong, independent, arrogantly, and confident. More so in their professional lives than in their personal lives. This all comes to a head when they're assigned to work a case together again. Can they overcome their pasts to embrace a future together? You'll have to read this book to find out!
Book 3 in the Texas Rascals Series Cowboy? romance. Nickerson is a muscled arrogant hunk who is assigned to an uncover detail as the husband of Michele. The two butt heads in front of their boss. They head out to work on a race horse boarding stable. This being romance both are specimens who draw whistles from the U of T crowd Michele lives among as they leave Austin. And this being a romance their betrothal is inevitable.
Nick & Michele work together at the same police force. When pushed together for an undercover assignment, slowly they both realize how much they actually love each other. However with so much animosity & arguing between them, can they make it? After they find the culprits responsible for the horse doping and settling the case, they decide to take a chance. This was a good page turner. I enjoyed it.
Michele & Nick work for the local police department. They are put together for an undercover assignment. Throughout this whole assignment they fight worse then cats & dogs. However, they both are having some strong feelings for each other. After catching the culprits responsible for the horse doping, and hearing the case, they decide to give each other a try. But will it work? Can they truly love each other?
I chose this rating because the hero is hot, hot, hot, smart, smartass and a protector. Also the heroine is sassy, smart, brave and confident, even though she has a lot of baggage. It is written well and holds your interest. There's humor, danger and lots of fantasy thoughts. No overt sex, just occasional kissing and hoping.Highly recommend.
I gave it 5 stars! The perfect amount of trauma, drama, and suspense. Trauma from they're past hurts and fears, drama from the tug of war with feelings for each other which neither wanted to admit. And just the right amount of suspense crime to keep you guessing! Nick is a keeper.
How in the world would two stubborn people like Nick and Michele work together on the case? Especially when they were paired to be undercover husband and wife. Delve into nick's book, fall into a racing horse scam and come out with the answers only these two could find.
Again Lori Wilde an amazing book!!! Nick was wild and charming, witty and exciting!!! I cant wait to see what Kurt has in store for this series!!! Looking forward to it!!! Thanks again for a awesome read!!! Tammy Canter
I love all of Lori’s books & have loved the Texas Rascals series so far but “Nick” was just okay. The two main characters Nick & Michele weren’t my favorite, especially Michele. It was still a good quick read & I will be reading the rest of the series.
This book is full of tension, drama, intrigue and romance. Although there is a lot of sexual tension and thoughts going on, there is no sex. I enjoyed the story. There were a couple of minor errors, though, that should have been fixed.
Plot barely there, hormonal characters with no substance. It was a slog to finish it but I paid for it so I determined to finish it. So wonder she can write these so quickly; nothing to them.
It was a good mystery, but otherwise a little ho-hum. I didn't feel the connection between Michelle and Nick as most was just banter back and forth. There was a lot of thoughts but hardly any action at all.
Blech. DNF at 80%. Yes I struggled that far before I gave up. Way too much of she says no and he kisses her anyway. Too much I hate everything about you but your looks, but I love you. But the consent issues are the biggest problem. I don't expect to read any other books in the series.
Most of the book were Michelle and Nick arguing. Not much plot. Nick was egotistical and Michelle resented authority. Therefore, they argued constantly.
I disliked the previous book and this one was not any better. I doubt I will try anymore books in the series.
Lori always seems to write the stories that keeps you wanting to read on and on. Nick is no exception. My only wish is that it could go on and on and never end. Can’t wait for the next Book.
Another great read in this series by MS Wilde. Two opposites are attracted but they act like enemys. A funny, romantic read. Can't wait for the next one.
I’m loving this series.I don’t think I would ever be able to pretend to be someone’s wife.I’m so glad Lori Wilde is updating these books and re-releasing them.
