I can't tell you how glad I am that Jennifer Bernard has continued to write. So many of my favorite authors aren't. So to keep writing and publishing them yourself is a lot of work and I really appreciate it.

The Renegade is third book in her new Rockwell Legacy series. I've been enjoying this series. The character haven been so much fun to read about. I love books that revolve around big families. I know with my family it doesn't matter if you're being mean or nice we still end up laughing about it.

To me the stand out character in this one is Lyle. He's just so....everything.

Let's take away the money and work with the rest. He's a man that never gives himself credit for being a good person. He so busy focusing on work so that he won't have to deal with what's missing from his life that he almost let go the one thing that worked perfect for him.

In a way Isabella is also running. She thinks she following her dreams but is she? Or is it that those dreams take her away from a life that she felt is holding her back from living. I know I'm not giving what I'm saying justice, you just have to read the book to understand my thoughts. Us being close friends and all you'll get it right away! Ha!

Together these two just work. The bring out the best in each other and complete each other. I really do enjoy them. I also liked all the family fun times at the holiday's. I think not matter what's going on in your lives or how little time you have to spare you should always try and make time for each other during the holidays.

The Renegade is a wonderful story that will keep you reading from cover to cover. It has enjoy of the other characters in the series that you feel that coming home feeling. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

If you have been reading The Rockwell Legacy stories, The Renegade is the latest. This time, it is about Isabelle Rockwell, twin sister to Jake (we met him in previous books), a trauma surgeon working with Doctors Without Borders. She’s come home to Rocky Peak Lodge to help her family bring the lodge back to life. (No worries, it is a standalone story however it is much more enjoyable following the antics of this family.)

I won’t get into detail about the story but it starts with a bang, at least for Isabelle, when a very rare occurrence one-night-stand shows up in the lodge at Thanksgiving. Just so happens that the billionaire helping the Rockwells hang onto their legacy is none other than Lyle Guero…yup, her one night stand. The re-meet/cute is fun, well, at least for Lyle, but these two are combustible. Both have backgrounds that shaped who they are today. At least Isabelle has a loving, make-you-crazy family while Lyle was an orphan who struggled in the early years of his life. As you can imagine, Isabelle’s family dynamic makes for a ton of laughs and they are the most loyal bunch you can imagine. Lyle is like the kid standing outside the candy store, looking in the window, wondering what he has missed all his life.

There is intrigue and mystery but also some fun times and sexy-times, all within a great story. Lyle will touch your heart, as he did mine. Isabelle is a fireball and may have been the one sibling closest to her mother than the rest. Reading about both and what they are working thru made such a great read. I can’t wait to read more about these siblings and their new ‘significant others’.

This series continues to get better and better! Out of the gates I was smitten with Isabelle's snarky quirks and I fell instantly in love with Lyle's vulnerable charm. The entire Rockwell family is one I want to be a part of, especially when it comes to Christmas, please send me to Rocky Peak Lodge.

Lyle Guero, the cold hearted billionaire, or is he? To Isabelle Rockwell he's just a sweet, sexy man that she met in an airport in Rome. A fleeting moment that should have been just that. Now, Lyle is staying at Rocky Peak invading her space, her home, and her thoughts. What is he doing there, aside from bailing out her family from financial ruin, the physical aspect of him actually being there is what has her stomach in knots. Lyle the billionaire is fine, Lyle the kind-hearted man is someone she isn't sure she can stay away from.

Lyle hasn't forgotten the woman he met in Rome and when he had the opportunity to see her again he took it. He saw it as fate, it had to be. Sure he had to deal with some business while he was at Rocky Peak Lodge, but seeing Isabelle again was his highest motivator. He wasn't about to tell her she was basically the only motivator, he didn't want to come off all "stalkery" afterall. He'd just stick with business...yeah, play it cool. He was known as a cold-hearted businessman afterall, he could play it cool.

Both deemed as a renegade in their own professions and in their personal lives, Lyle and Isabelle are both familiar with thinking outside the box. They are also both courageous, stubborn, and enjoy a good challenge. Perfectly matched they balance each other out in their strengths and weaknesses. I loved watching them evolve as a couple and balance each other out.

Isabelle is on a quest; to find the journals her mother wrote in when Isabelle was a little girl. However, she ends up needing Lyle's help. She also discovers Lyle isn't quite the cold-hearted man he has everyone believing he is. Together they grow closer as the holiday season presses in upon them. Can they keep it casual when feelings begin to rise?

Last comment: I need the Rockwell Christmas traditions to happen in my life and I want to participate in them from this day forth! So any family members reading this better help me institute them immediately!!

This was my first book by Jennifer, I've read it as a standalone without reading any of the other books in the series, and to be honest I really felt I was missing out on a lot of the plot points, the family connections and history, etc., so while it can be read as a standalone I would advise reading the others in this series first - saying that when I did get into the story I did enjoy it!!

Isabelle is a trauma surgeon working for Doctors Without Borders, and has gone back home to the family at Rocky Peak Lodge, which is in the process of being renovated, for Christmas. The person helping fund the renovation is none other that Lyle, a billionaire she met in Rome and had a bit of a thing with, who left an imprint on her in both good and bad ways. She's trying everything she can to stay out of his way!!

Lyle has thought about Isabelle non-stop since Rome, and was more than willing to help funding the renovations when he found out it was her family. He's at the Lodge while there is a bit of a ruckus going on with his business, he is there out of the way while someone he thought of as his family challenges him for his CEO.

Lyle and Isabelle come from completely different backgrounds, she brought up surrounded by a big family that are a little crazy - the antics in here and the Christmas traditions will have you laughing and leave a smile on your face! Lyle was brought up in foster homes, knows nothing about families or relationships, having just lived to work. But Isabelle brings something out in him he has never experienced before and wants more of it.

I enjoyed their highly charged interactions, Lyle was adorable in his unique knack of putting his foot in it around Isabelle!! Good reading, pity I hadn't read any of the others first though!!

Isabelle Rockwell has dedicated her life to being the best. It didn't matter if it were skiing, becoming a surgeon, or winning a snowball fight. She excelled. She volunteered with Doctors Without Borders because she enjoyed helping others, but also because she wanted to experience life. She vowed to do what her mother didn't do, live life with no strings attached. Until an unexpected layover in Rome...

Lyle Guero became the man he was due to sheer determination and hard work. Having been moved around throughout his youth to various foster families, Lyle never truly felt as though he was part of a family-until he rescues another boy from a group of bullies. His new friend's family takes him in and ends up investing in a business that ultimately makes Lyle a billionaire. Being a billionaire has its perks, but when a snow storm delays his flight in Rome he comes across Isabelle. Isabelle doesn't "know" that Lyle is a billionaire. Lyle realizes he enjoys just being seen as Lyle, not a billionaire. After an amazing night, Lyle wakes up to find Isabelle is gone.

Renegade is the third novel in The Rockwell Legacy series. Although each novel can be read as a stand-alone novel, I highly recommend reading this series in order. The foundation for the series is revealed in the first novel and more secrets are revealed in the next two. I absolutely loved this novel! It was probably my favorite as I truly believe in its message. Isabelle lived her life chasing her dreams and striving to be the best, only to find out she wasn't really chasing her dreams. She was living the life she thought her mom always wanted, but couldn't have because she was "tied down" with kids and marriage. Lyle always believed the family life wasn't for him either. After spending time with Isabelle's family, he realizes he has his priorities all wrong. I loved the suspense, the journals, and revelations into Gracie's story. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

The Renegade is the 3rd book in the Rockwell Legacy Series. In this installment we follow esteemed trauma surgeon Isabelle Rockwell. Isabelle is a part of Doctors without Borders and not looking to settle back in Rocky Peak. She left for a reason and as much as she loves her family (and her twin brother Jake) she is just home for the Christmas festivities and then plans to head back to work. Like most of the other Rockwell children though Isabelle is trying to work through some memories from her past that still cause her nightmares.

Much to her surprise she discovers Lyle Guero is also staying at the lodge. She met Lyle in an airport when they were both stranded in Rome. It could have been love at first sight but there is one major obstacle. He left without even saying goodbye. She would love to never speak to Lyle again but there’s one problem. Lyle is the billionaire secret investor that is helping to save the Rockwell legacy ski lodge. As much as she bumps heads with her father, Max she would never do anything to spoil the possibility of saving the family lodge. Lyle has problems and secrets of his own. Why he is staying at the lodge laying low to begin with is not known by anyone.

As you can see it took me no time at all to read this book. I love this series and the ease of getting through the books. If you have not read the previous two books it might be best to start at the beginning (The Rebel followed by the Rogue) so you understand the history of the characters.

As an added bonus this book takes place over Christmas so the timing is perfect. It makes you want to book a trip to a ski lodge and plan a holiday of your own. Kudos to Jennifer Bernard on another great book that leaves you wanting more. Don’t get me wrong there is definitely closure but there are still stories to be told about other characters.

The Renegade is the 3rd book in the Rockwell Legacy series, I should have started with book 1 but I dived straight into Isabelle and Lyle’s story and couldn’t put it down. While it is part of a series, I was able to read as a standalone.

Lyle is a billionaire, scratch that he is no longer one because someone he though of as the only family he had is wagering a war to take everything he has built. Being told to lay low he decides to spend time at a ski resort one which he has invested in, except he has an altera motive being the gorgeous Isabelle Rockwell, the one that got away in Rome. Isabelle is looking for answers and coming home is the only way she knows she will get them, the answers she has been hoping for is in the form of a hot sexy rich man, Lyle Guero.

Isabelle is a breath of fresh air, she is smart, carefree and has a heart of gold. As much as she try’s to fight it she knows the feelings deep down; bubbling to the surface are her saving grace. Lyle is a cold-hearted ruthless business man, or is he? Never having a family, he has learnt to be the strong stone-faced man he is but underneath he is holding out for the one that changes everything.

I personally really enjoyed this story, there were times when I was confused at who was who because there was a number of minor characters throughout but that resolved itself as I read further into the book. This is my first Bernard book and I am very excited to go back and read books 1 & 2 to find out Isabelle’s other sibling’s stories, including the next book in the series The Runaway.

Isabella Rockwell, trauma surgeon, is back for the holidays. It’s the first time in years that all the brothers and sister are together again. Though to her surprise there are some extra new folk around as well. Including that hot billionaire she met in Rome. Queue the fireworks!

That dynamic in the Rockwell family is so on point. From the grumpy dad, to the teasing between the siblings, and all the love they have for each other. Two of the brothers now have significant others who fit in perfectly. Since this novel spans the holidays, I loved seeing all the Rockwell’s sometimes crazy family traditions.

Now Lyle pretty much grew up without a family. It’s even his adoptive brother who’s trying to make him lose his business. So getting thrown in with this lot is exactly what he needs. If by any chance in the meantime he can convince Isabella to give them a real chance, now that’s a Christmas wish I support.

The Renegade is an excellent addition to the Rockwell Legacy series. I loved Isabella. She’s a strong, charming, independent women, who is not afraid to also show her more vulnerable side (but only to those she loves). While Lyle is more reserved, I liked seeing him opening up more. The man is a sweetheart.

I feel the best way to read this entire series is one a cold day, snuggled under a fluffy blanket, with some hot chocolate win reach. Already am I looking forward to the next instalment. Jennifer Bernard left us with a huge tease at the end, and I love how everything is turning out completely different from what I was expecting.

A homecoming, a bit of mystery, and the last man she ever expected to see again! With the next book in The Rockwell Legacy, we see the lodge renovation making progress, get updates on the two couples we’ve loved in previous books and begin Isabelle’s journey to love. I enjoy this family and series very much overall, but found this particular book to be lackluster. Her back story wasn’t built up nearly as well as her brother’s had been in their earlier stories, and the connection between she and Lyle just fell a little flat for my taste. Still enjoyed the story, just not my favorite in the series. Looking forward to more to come!

Doctor Isabelle Rockwell is finally making the journey home after working with Doctor’s Without Borders in faraway places. She’s torn about her journey. She enjoys the work she gets to do for people who really need it, but she misses her family and a recurring dream about her mother finally has her unable to stay away any longer. She needs to know what’s pulling her home once and for all … but she never expects to see a familiar face when she gets there!

Billionaire Lyle Guero is having a takeover crisis at his company and lying low while things get ironed out, so what better place to visit than his latest project? He’s the silent investor that is enabling Rocky Peak Lodge to be returned to it’s old glory again, so he’s excited to get to see how it’s coming along, and get a feel for what the lodge will feel like when it’s open and thriving once again. He doesn’t know Izzy will be there, but he’s thrilled to get to reconnect with the woman who caught his eye when they were stranded together in Rome overnight!

Isabelle returns home with the rest of the Rockwellls for the much needed renovations. What she doesn't expect is Lyle Guero billionaire and one night stand, to be here footing the bill.
I loved Isabelle! She has the perfect combination of snark, humor and fierceness. Her job as a doctor in war torn countries has made her demanding, well, that and her father, Max. Her life after her mother's accident was never the same. As the oldest daughter, she felt it was her duty to be everything for the family. She tried but her calling was greater. When she falls for Lyle, she falls hard but not without battling herself. After caring for a friends baby, she finds she wants more from her life.
Lyle is so alpha but he doesnt know what to do with a woman whose just as alpha. Lyle has had to grow up in a system that was unfair. He fought to become another person as an adult, literally and figuratively. He rebuilt himself but has no idea who he really is. He enlists Isabelle to find out. That's the way he connects to her again.
These two are unlikely lovers. Both are so dominate you would think that they would get so frustrated they would give up. Not so. They gravitate toward each other and stay within each others orbit. Isabelle is used to fighting for the people she cares about. Lyle hasn't had a family to learn this from but he's learning fast.
I can't wait to see where the next book takes us. This family isn't done with discovering all the secrets that have been hidden.

Christmastime with the Rockwells means NEVER a dull moment! Between the games, the picking of the tree (and all the craziness that comes with it!), the search for the truth with Amanda Rockwell, the baby of the friend drama, and then (of course!) the potential romance of Lyle and Isabelle…this was an action packed book! The Author, Jennifer Bernard, writes so amazing and has such great flow to her storylines…and this was certainly no exception!

The Renegade is the third book in the Rockwell Legacy series. This book is the story of Isabelle Rockwell and Lyle 'fucking' Guero, the billionaire who invested in the Lodge. They have met before after being stranded in Rome together after a freak snowstorm. Isabelle, a member of Doctors Without Borders, is a doctor who works with impoverished countries, heads home for a Christmas visit, only to walk in and find Lyle at the Lodge. Lyle, has escaped to the mountain resort to take a break from his company because something is going down with his partner.

This story is hot and steamy, heartbreaking, a lot of drama, angst, mystery…it has it all!!! I love the growing relationship between Lyle and Isabelle! I love the way Ms. Bernard includes the whole family and continues on their characters. Even though this can be a stand-alone…I think it works better if you have read the first 2 books in this series! You get to know the characters and can build on them. The epilogue has me waiting (impatiently) for Gracie’s story!!!

I HIGHLY recommend this book/series!

This book totally put me in the Christmas mood. It was awesome! I felt the snow under my feet and celebrated with one of the craziest fictional families and I loved it!
I was a bit surprised that it started AFTER the meeting that was mentioned in the comments, but that was actually quite good. We got glimpses and memories of their time together in Rome and at the same time we saw how Izzy and Lyle struggled to overcome the feelings they had after Rome and fall in love.
I liked all of the characters, no matter if it was a main character or a side character. All of them were very well developed and had personality, which is not easy if you have to write about such a big family. All of the members had their unique character traits which made them easily recognizable while reading.
The plot was interesting, but sometimes a bit farfetched in my opinion. The plotline with Izzy’s mom was good and I really want to know how it turns out in the end, but the plotline with Lyle’s company did not seem logical to me. Some things were completely different from how I know the business world and did not make a lot of sense. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading this book and will definitely pick up the next book in the series since Gracie’s book promises a few surprises and a twist I did not expect at all.
If you are looking for a Christmas book with a quirky family, a stubborn heroine and a soft hearted hero who hides behind an ice cold wall, this book is for you!

This series just keeps getting better and better.

The Renegade is the third in Jennifer Bernard's Rockwell Legacy series, about the Rockwell siblings, who've grown up at a gorgeous mountain lodge founded by their great grandfather in Rocky Peak. They've had a somewhat tumultuous relationship with their father after their mother died in a tragic accident, but now that he's getting older, some health concerns have mellowed him somewhat, and they have returned to the Rocky Peak Lodge to celebrate Christmas.

Isabelle Rockwell is a trauma surgeon, used to being in command whether in the operating room or out in the field with Doctors Without Borders. She's always dreamed of this life, and has assumed that there isn't room in her life for more.

But a chance evening with a fascinating stranger in Rome leads to something utterly unexpected when Lyle Guero shows up for family Christmas.

Jennifer Bernard's characters are warm and interesting and real. Isabelle and Lyle's vulnerabilities are so understandable and their attraction and connection draw us straight in. The overarching storyline of the mystery of the circumstances surrounding their mother's death also keeps the pages turning, while Isabelle and Lyle's heated attraction is deliciously wonderful as well.

The Renegade is a thoroughly fabulous read, and I can't wait for the remaining Rockwells' stories to be told!

Jennifer Bernard takes us back to Rocky Peak Lodge and the Rockwell Clan in The Renegade, which is the third book in this series. I love this family, and wish I could head to Rocky Peak just to hang out with them. Bernard has created a family and characters that you can’t help but love. Isabelle and Lyle are two strong people who fit together perfectly. They understand each other and what the other needs. Isabelle cares for Lyle the person, not the billionaire, and watching their relationship strengthen was fun to watch. The Rockwells and their interactions with each other and their growing clan are hysterical to watch. I love the way they have created their own wacky Christmas traditions that they all love and want to continue. I am also intrigued that there is still more to uncover when it comes to their mother, with both her life and accident. Jennifer Bernard has perfected her ability to create characters and storylines that are likeable and full of humor. She always tosses in an unexpected twist, as well. This can work as a standalone novel, but, and I have said it before, why would you want to miss a word of the story? Thanks to a tease at the end of this one, I am anxiously awaiting the release of book four!

Isabelle Rockwell is a trauma surgeon who has devoted years to serving with Doctors Without Borders. During a layover in Rome she meets billionaire Lyle Guero and they spend an enjoyable snowbound night together thinking that they will never see each other again after they leave Rome.

When Lyle discovers that Isabelle’s family’s business, Rocky Peak Lodge, is in financial trouble, he jumps at the chance to help by investing in the lodge.

When Isabelle comes home for Christmas she finds an unexpected guest...Lyle Guero. He is keeping a low profile (at the advice of his Board of Directors) while his foster brother attempts a hostile takeover of the business that Lyle spent his whole adult life building.

Isabelle has a recurring dream about her mother. She thinks that the dream means that her mother is trying to tell her something. She goes in search of her mother’s journals in the hope that they contain the answer to whatever it is that her mother wants her to know.

This is Book 3 in The Rockwell Legacy Series. I highly recommend this book and this series to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

Isabella works for Doctors Without Borders as a trauma surgeon. She believes that she was living the life her mother would have wanted her to live but is it really the life she wants to live? She is heading back to Rocky Peak Lodge to spend the holidays with her family at the lodge that is being renovated.

Lyle is a billionaire businessman who finds himself under siege by those he thought he could trust. He has told to keep a low profile, so he decides to head to Rocky Peak Lodge that he has invested in.

When Isabella meets the new investor for the Lodge she is surprised to see it is Lyle her one night stand from her layover in Rome. They haven’t forgotten about each other but can two very different people who are both trying to deal with their pasts find the home they always wanted in each other?

These two are perfect together as both Lyle and Isabella are strong and independent and aren’t about to back down form what they want or what they feel is right. It was great to catch up with the rest of the family as well. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Each book in this series just keeps building on the awesomeness of it all!! I absolutely love Isabelle and Lyle as a couple but I just love them as people too!!! I find them to be complex but also really down to earth characters. Isabelle is caring and fun but she can be so sassy too. Lyle is so much more than his nickname of "Lyle the Pile" lol, he is quite charming and kind and not at all cold and calculating like people think because he is a billionaire. I really love their story and everything they go through from the funny to the sweet, and all the sexy steamy moments in between. It was a pleasure to watch them grow as a couple from that stolen night they met in Rome to that dangerous day in the woods. I also love that we get so much of the Rockwell family in this book just like the others and I felt like I was right there with them for their fun and fantastic Holiday traditions!! Can't wait for Grace's book up next!!

"Come here, you"...

And read this book! The third in the Rockwell Series, it is as sizzling as the first two books. The bantering siblings, the camaraderie and love between them, and a tantalizingly good good plot all hooking you from chapter one to the last. Isabelle and Lyle’s story is delish… They are both at crossroads; Isabelle drawn to her childhood home by a dream of her mother and Lyle with the possibility of being de-billionaired. But that can't put a lid on their chemistry; hot enough to melt the snow.

Quote: “It’s nice to be alone,” he murmured as he drew her into his arms. “Let’s not leave until ski o’clock tomorrow.” He slid his hands down her back to the upper curve of her rear. She melted against him. “Ski o’clock?” she murmured. “Does that come before or after half-past-hot-tub?”

Ms Bernard does not disappoint and her linguistic skills deliver yet another winner.

And now there's Gracie's story to look forward to...

How can you not love this series? The Rockwell family has had some recent mystery in their lives and it is spread through out each of these books. Add snow, romance, and a lodge remodel to the mix of finding out what really happened to their mother and you have the perfect winter romance to sit by a fire and read.
Isabelle is a trauma surgeon that has returned home to the family lodge for Christmas. Lyle is a rich billionaire that has loaned the family some money to remodel the lodge. What the family did not know is Isabelle had already met Lyle in Rome while being snowed in and not being able to leave.
The fun family traditions in this book will leave you laughing and turning pages to see what they do next. The epilogue in the book will leave you wanting more Rockwell reading as soon as possible.
Jennifer Bernard continues to blend together a little mystery and intrigue with romance in the latest series. This series just keeps getting better and better!

Another fantastic Rockwell family story featuring Izzy. The smart one that's always on the go and caring for others as a hardworking doctor with Doctors Without Borders. As she makes her way home to her family's mountain lodge she encounters a sexy stranger in a foreign airport only to find him again at the lodge. Lyle is the calculating billionaire that stepped in to help save the lodge as an investment and he plans on seeing a return on that investment. He's needs to lay low and wait for his past to go away but that's hard to do around the unconventional Rockwell family and danger looming. Terrific writing and a slew of wonderful characters that always delight makes this a must read. Full of family, love, adventure, intrigue and a few twists that will keep you turning the pages. Lots of great Rockwells to choose from for the next story in the series. Can't wait! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

The Renegade is a fantastic contemporary romance with a twist of suspense by Jennifer Bernard. Ms. Bernard has given readers a well-written book populated with an outstanding cast of characters. Isabelle is a trauma doctor that works in hotspots around the world, in the worst conditions. Lyle is a billionaire orphan that grew up in foster homes. They spent one night together when their flights were grounded. Months later Lyle found Isabelle at her family lodge. Isabelle and Lyle's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Jennifer Bernard. The Renegade is book 3 of The Rockwell Legacy but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I LOVE this series!

First, the romance. Isabelle and Lyle are steamy, romantic fun! They get each other, compliment each other, fulfil each other.

Second, the Rockwell siblings. Christmas with the Rockwells is a like a contact sport. Bring a helmet and wait for the action. These siblings are pure fun (plus a large dose of competition and healthy dose of love).

Last, the mystery. This is the third book in the series and the siblings have been looking into their mother's car accident (this is a stand-a-lone so you will catch up if you didn't read the first two). A lot of new information comes to light here and I have tons of theories as to what will come.

I can't wait for the next book in this series!!

Jennifer Bernard captured my attention with her Bachelor Firemen series. Once I read one book I was hooked and have read each release that has followed in several series. The latest series "The Rockwell Legacy" has intrigued me for the family dynamics and the lives of the 5 children of Amanda and Max Rockwell. Each book is building on the family secrets. This latest book featured daughter Isabella. Her wanderlust has finally brought her home for the holidays where she encounters someone she had met before on her travels. There story has some definite hills and valleys, but keeps you wanting to read more. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for my open, honest review!

Loved this story!! The third story in the Rockwell family and we finally get to meet Isabelle, a trauma surgeon whom is home for the holidays, and only the holidays. Not expecting to ever see the man from a wonderful night in Rome, Lyle. Billionaire, Lyle has arrived at the lodge to lay low during a takeover, hoping to find the lady that is still haunting his dreams.

Both Isabelle and Lyle are strong willed personalities and not looking for the forever. But after spending the fun filled holiday, things may change. Loved the chemistry between these two. Such fun family traditions the Rockwells have. Love catching up with the rest of the family. With the added element of the mystery, makes for the perfect read. Can't wait to read the next installment!! Highly recommend.

It was fun to get into the mind of Izzy Rockwell. I can't say this was my favorite of the series, but it helped fill in some more info into the Rockwell family and what happened to their mother.

Izzy and Lyle were made for each other. It was an enjoyable read. I did really enjoy the Rockwell family Christmas traditions. So different that what I would have thought up, and I liked how all the kids participated in the wacky games along with the new additions. With all the crazy rules to try and follow, it was fun looking in from the outside.

Again the "twist" at the end seemed to be closed up rather quickly without much to-do. Somewhat clean and lack of excitement, but at least it wasn't left open which is good.

Can't wait to get into the rest of the stories!

Multi-faceted and Steamy

After a steamy encounter in Italy, Lyle leaves Isabelle without even a note. Months later, when Lyle needs to lay low due to trouble with his business, while staying at Rocky Peak Lodge, his new angel investment. Isabelle, who’s been having reoccurring dreams about her mother, feels she needs to come home and search for her mother’s diaries. And there the two meet again and the sparks fly.

This book reminded me why I used to grab Jennifer Bernard's books off the store shelf as soon as they were published. This is a fast-paced full-length novel that keeps you trying to figure out all the puzzles. The plot is complex and so are the main characters, with the secondary characters are just as strong. I look forward to reading Gracie's story next.

The billionaire & the doctor from Doctors Without Borders. Some would say the selfish vs the selfless. They would be wrong! Lyle is not your typical billionaire. He isn’t cold & calculating but rather warm & down to earth. Isabella is smart, sexy & witty. I love that, instead of falling at Lyle’s feet & worshipping him & his money, she’s making him work. Her sarcasm & wit really made this story for me. Each of these books can easily be read as a stand-alone since they are self contained. They do all have a common theme in the Rockwell family & their resort. Ms. Bernard has given her readers another terrific book & left them eagerly anticipating the next.

I love this series more with each book that i read. Isabelle and Lyle are steamy hot and so much fun. Isabelle is home for the holidays and to her surprise a bit of her past shows up....Lyle. Lyle has never had a family, its always been business with him. So imagine his surprise when he is thrown into the Rockwell Family Christmas. Let the games begin! The time Isabelle and Lyle spend together increases the attraction and chemistry between them. I absolutley loved everything about this series, from the characters, the setting of the books and the suspense that was added to each book of this series. I can't wait fie the next book in this series.
