After her space ship crash lands on an alien planet, Stella finds shelter in a nearby cave that is much more than it appears. But when a hidden door closes, she's trapped inside... and she isn't alone. Monsters lurk in the shadows and another survivor, mysterious and beastly, takes her under his protection. He promises to keep her body safe, but her heart is another matter.
Arest knows nothing but blood and death. Yet, when he sees Stella, his only thought is to keep her from harm. Enemies lurk in every corner, and as they travel deeper into the bowels of the mountain, it becomes clear that they are both in danger from something worse than the simple creatures that attack from the shadows.
The closer that Stella and Arest get to the heart of the mountain maze, the deadlier the threats grow. And with every step, their passion deepens, igniting in both of them an emotion neither thought possible. But Arest's hazy past is an ever-present threat, and even if they make it off the mountain there may be no way to stay together and stay safe from powerful enemies.
Stella may be snowed in with an alien beast, but she soon finds that he is the monster that she wants at her side, and she'll do anything to keep him there.
As a general rule, I really dig two people being stranded/trapped together and, well, the entire scenario in the maze where Stella and Arest were forced to rely on one another, but...BUT I wanted more of Arest's story. More of how he came to be the beast and what the writing on his arms means and all that. (Is there another story somewhere? If so, I am THERE and completely willing to read it.)
That said...Stella and Arest. Circumstances throw them together and they end up making the most of it. While Stella is basically dependent on Arest for protection in the maze, he's also dependent on her to keep him from completely losing himself to his beast. (Although his beastly instincts do come in handy when they're fighting off the bad things menacing them.)
Again, I liked the book overall (TRAPPED! SEXY TIMES! YES!), but I do wish we could have seen a little more deeply into who Arest was and how he ended up experimented on and turned into the beast who kills with such ease.
Stella manages to survive crash landing on a strange planet. On the hunt for a safe place to stay she comes across Beast. He may have a scary exterior but he has the heart of a hero and a protective nature, as Stella soon finds out. Beast had been held captive on the planet and drugged and tortured and made to endure endless fights for the entertainment of others. With Stella he fights because he wants to protect her. With her beside him he recalls flashes of his time on the planet, which are not happy memories.
They are both capable of looking after themselves but together they are better. As they come to rely on one another, they also open the hearts and minds to loving the other. But when the nasty race who tortured Beast find them, will they be able to keep each other safe?
Beast and Stella are great characters and whilst both stubborn and strong, they have their own failings too, making them much more likeable characters. Whilst Beast doesn't have a lot to say he gets his meaning across in very meaningful and passionate ways! Loved it!
I didn't connect with the characters because there was a lot of 'tell' and not enough 'show' in the plot/narrative, an insta love/attraction and not enough character development which is understandable because this is a short story. There was an interesting plot to do with an evil intergalactic shadowy council engaged in genetic experiments and how the hero fell into their clutches etc but sadly it was left unexplored. Even the hero's past is left unexplored as he slowly gained his memories back. I wish the author had expanded the story more, I would have enjoyed is book a lot more if there was a bit more character development and more time given for the romance to grow into an emotional connection. Still, this was a short story so I'm going to try Ms Rudolph's longer stories. I'm not one to give up on a new author too quickly.
Snuggle up and get Snowed in... Snowed in with the Alien Beast is the perfect romance read for a long dark winter evening. It's short, stand-alone (although the HFN ending leaves the door ajar for a sequel), and character-driven, with just the right amount of danger and derring do to keep you turning those pages. Beast is anything but - he's been drugged and damaged and can barely speak, but his heart is that of a protector. Smart human civilian fleet member Stella is perceptive enough to see that, and self-aware enough to distinguish a lust rush from their developing respect and affection. Both are capable and intelligent, and the longer they are space-shipwrecked and snowed in an underground labyrinth, the more Stella and Beast come to trust and co-operate with one another. When they finally understand the extent of their predicament, neither is inclined to give up without a fight, thoough it is touch and go whether they can make it out together, and stay together afterwards. Kate Rudolph writes with clarity and handles a dialogue-poor yet very intense romance beautifully. My only criticism is the the ending seems a bit precipitous, but it is consistent with plot and characters, so that's a very minor issue. Overall, I totally recommend Snowed in with the Alien Beast as the perfect kick-off to a winter reading season. My thanks to the author for the privilege of an ARC, and the opinion voluntarily expressed is strictly my own.
I read Snowed in with the Alien Beast by Kate Rudolph today in one sitting. It kept me engaged the whole time.

I enjoyed the bond that developed quickly between Arest and Stella. I love alpha-male characters (especially alien ones!) and Arest is no exception, though he is a bit more emotionally vulnerable in some ways than others I’ve read. While Stella needed Arest’s protection, I loved her fierce and passionate desire to also protect him in her own way. There is a scene where Stella briefly starts to become angry at him and I would have liked to see them have and work through a heated argument, but it is probably best that didn’t happen with Arest’s simple and abbreviated communication style (which I was also hoping would improve a bit more by the end of the book). I love a good HEA ending and this story delivers (more of a HFN perhaps)! I would have liked to learn more about what actually happened in Arest’s past and would have loved an epilogue to get a glimpse into the future, but I think this may be a shorter novel and it was still very enjoyable.
I recommend this story and any others by this author as well as others in the Starr Huntress world. They’re all very entertaining!

Civilian fleet mission coordinator Stella’s (h) ship crash-lands on a frozen alien planet, and survival becomes her only goal. Lost in an eerie labyrinth of tunnels, she stumbles upon Arest (H), a scarred alien warrior with a beastly appearance and a mysterious past. Despite his intimidating presence, Arest proves to be her fiercest protector as they navigate deadly traps and monstrous threats in a sinister research facility. With their lives on the line, Stella and Arest form an unbreakable bond that transforms into something deeper. But escaping the facility is only the beginning, and the pair must rely on each other to find safety, freedom, and hope for the future. Hot and steamy alien-human romance, exploring love, connection, survival, redemption, strength, and freedom.
"A proper trap didn’t look threatening until it was sprung."
When Stella's ship crashes on an alien world things feel bad enough, when she discovers the place she's taken shelter in is not a safe haven the adventure truly begins.
He struggles to form words. His past comes back in snippets. He knows they drugged him. Changed him. Fed the rage he is currently feeling... but could someone treating him with kindness and compassion change the course of his life?
This done in one story feels like it is tied in to a larger Universe, and not just because Honora Station and the Oscavian aliens are mentioned.
This is an interesting story about trust, taking the hurdles of life as they come, and daring to push forward even when the path is hard.
Stella wakes up sore and bleeding from a head injury to find she has crash landed on an unknown planet. There doesn’t seem to be any other survivors. The ship looks like it’s ready to fall to pieces, and this is the best part of her day. It’s all downhill from there. Together with Arest, an alien beast, they must find their way out of a very nasty situation. The action starts on the first page and just keeps going.
Stella was on a ship that crash landed on an unknown ice planet of ice. Arest had been locked up on the ship that crash landed but his memories were messed up. When he finds a women he knows he has to keep her safe. Oh wow. What action! Great characters and killer storyline. I loved it and couldn't put it down. Don't miss it Syfy fans Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
This book was really good. Stella crashes on a snow covered planet and seeks shelter in a cave. An altered man also was in the crash and he finds himself in the same cave. He immediately begins to protect her from the horrible monsters that lurk in the dark. Excellent book.
Stella's ship goes down on a strange planet. She wanders to a cave that's really a maze to keep the animals/beasts in. There she meets up with Arest, who protects her. They fall in love. But the other beasts try to keep them apart. They outsmart the beasts and flee the planet to Earth. The End.
I was really not expecting the story that played out when I read the title and the blurb. The story was so much better than my expectations. While I really enjoyed the story and the twists, I wanted more of Arest. I want to know his past, and his future.
This was a good read for me. I liked the characters Stella and Arest, their chemistry is steamy. The story is fast-paced with plenty of suspense and drama. An entertaining read, just wanted more.
Awesome storytelling with lots of action and adventure. When crash landing on some alien planet with lots of snow, you definitely need to find a great big warrior who decides that he needs to keep you safe and warm.
I especially loved the hero, Arest. I’m a sucker for the tortured hero who is redeemed by love. Gets me every time. I also liked Stella the heroine. She keeps her head in a dangerous situation and makes smart choices. I appreciate that. I do wish that it was longer. There was so much that could have been expanded on. Arest’s history isn’t explored much and the ending was abrupt. However, what was there was very good.
Read this if you want an action packed, sweet love story and don’t mind a story that feels too short.
I really enjoyed reading this novella! My only regret is that it is so short as I wanted to spend more thime with Stella and Arest. I wanted to have answers to some unresolved questions too, but even with those issues left open, the story was overall very entertaining and satisfying.
Marked as an author I have wanted to read but somehow neglected, this was a great introduction to her works. A really good story with intense action and heat. Disappointing end but only because I wanted more.
I liked it. The storyline was great. Although I wonder how the ship crashed? I enjoyed Arest's character, a true beast. I wonder what happened to him? Recommend reading.
I like it but didn't like it. It felt to rushed. It needed more story more depth to it. Lacking that made for a just okay book rather then a really good book.
A different take on The Beauty and The Beast type stories. Although the book ends with a Happy for Now ending it wasn't a satisfying ending and ended with one wanting more.
This was a very interesting read. I actually picked up a sample years ago by accident (I generally don't do samples, just a thing) and was frustrated when I got to the end of it. I think I honestly thought the story was intended to end there and I REALLY did not like that choice. Years later, this lands in my lap so I take a look and realize that it's much longer, finally letting me know that I had somehow wound up with a sample. I was excited, to say the least.
Anyhow, this is a story about a human woman getting stranded on an alien planet with a man who is more than human and the adventures that ensue. The story is well laid out and definitely not something I'd really read before. The gradual return of Arrest's memories made for an interesting plot device and a heartbreaking story. Stella was a much simpler character than I'm used to from Mrs. Rudolph, but she complimented Arrest well.
Overall the story was a unique adventure that I very much enjoyed and would suggest giving a go. There is action (lots of fighting), steam, romance, and some alien interaction. There were questions left unanswered, but I realize that was done intentionally. Definitely something you should give a go.
